Hello everyone!
This short video is from Basco Sunset Viewing Deck and the view from Tukon Chapel or commonly known as Mt. Carmel Chapel. It offers a first glimpse into the famous rolling hills of North Batan in Batanes. With the whispers of the sea breeze, the absence artificial sounds, and the smell of nature, I can't help but fall into introspection. There's so much in the world to see and even here in the Philippines, I still have a lot to travel and discover.
Here are my previous posts about or inspired from Batanes:

Hello everyone!
I'm really taking advantage of this newly-found inspiration to post, so bear with me if I'll post more often. I just want to document everything about Batanes. As I've said in my previous posts, I'll share all of my photos and videos from this trip, and I mean everything, including the videos I took while on the plane from Clark International Airport to Basco Airport.
The reason I'm documenting this is basically for my future self. Eventually, I won't be able to do this anymore, but I'll be happy to review all the adventures I did. I won't have any regrets when the time comes.
I guess that's all for this post. Enjoy the video!

Hello everyone!
This video is my ode to my past self. Please stop haunting me with the decisions you made, the opportunities you missed, and the chances you didn’t take—because you were too afraid of change. When you were swinging in that place in Sabtang Island, you reminded me of how carefree yet idealistic you were. I think it’s a sign: I should either accept that you were a part of me or let you go, because there’s no going back in time. There’s actually a perfect song for this video, but of course, it’s copyrighted. If you’re Filipino, you’ve probably heard of Multo by Cup of Joe by now. I think Batanes has started to haunt me, so the song makes an ideal background for this video. I mean, Sabtang Island is so hauntingly beautiful.
That lighthouse in Sabtang Island will forever be etched in my memory—and will continue to haunt me until I return to Batanes to find some closure. I need that closure, and I know it may take another decade to get it. But one thing I do know: it was the place where I was able to write freely. Words flowed, and I had a hard time keeping up.For now, I’ll continue to live and pretend that everything’s fine, even though I know nothing’s been fine since that trip. I’m not fine. But at least, that trip was a step toward healing. I know I’ve got a long way to go, but that journey gave me just enough strength to push forward. Yeah, I know—you’d probably say I’m just overreacting, but it doesn’t matter. I feel what I feel.
I guess that's all for this post. Enjoy the video!

This video is just a collection of clips from our hike last Sunday. I wanted to share this because it's my first hike after a while. I'm just so happy I didn't ditch this hike. For context, I was not able to hike in a long time because of everything that happened, and you might be aware of all of it. I have shared almost everything here, so just read my previous posts if you haven't caught up yet. Anyway, my hiking friends post their invitation almost every week, and I initially agreed to hike with them but ended up ditching them at the last minute.I don't know what happened last Sunday because I slept early the night before even if I was supposed to be awake the whole night, and then I woke up early, took a shower and then left the house to hike. Glad I changed my routine just for this because it was so refreshing to finally hit the mountains after almost a year. It was an almost 20-kilometer hike with an elevation gain of 1000 meters.
What I like about hiking with these people is the variety of routes to reach the same destination. They're not contented with the same established routes, so it's almost always an exploratory hike with them. I mean, I've hiked from Talamban to Sirao or Kan-irag more than I could count, but it's not always the same route. So, there's always something new to discover along the trail. They're already planning for another hike this weekend because they're preparing for their major climb to Mt. Guiting-Guiting this third week of March. Guess what? I'm already adjusting my schedule to hike with them this weekend because I want to be more active again.
I guess that's all for this post. See you in the next upload!

Hello everyone!
I'm so happy that I was able to camp again after exactly a year. I guess you all know here what I have been through last year. So, I'm just ecstatic to share that I'm now feeling a little bit of relief knowing that I'm slowly back on track.
We already camped here at Mt. Manunggal last 2015. I already made a post about it a long time ago, like during the Steem era. There are a lot of changes like the campsite is now famous to the rich kids. The parking area is full of cars and there's an entrance fee and parking fee. There's a store where you can buy a lot of food. However, we didn't camp in the main camping site. We camped at the lower part of the park where there's no entrance fee.
Mt. Manunggal is the crash site of the plane carrying President Ramon Magsaysay on 1957. Now, it's a famous camp site and hiking trail here in Cebu.
I guess that's all for this post. Enjoy the video!

Hello everyone!
I'm sharing our shenanigans in Hanoi. If you're interested to know more about my perspective while we were at Old Quarter, you can read my previous post:
[1] Navigating through the Streets of Hanoi

All I can say is it was one of the most sensory overloaded travels I've ever had. Hanoi's traffic is chaotic at first sight, but underlying that is an exquisitely tuned and efficient system. It's a dance, a multicolored tapestry of movement in which everyone has his or her niche. For a visitor, mastering this rhythm is the key to understanding the true nature of Hanoi.
I included a huge portion of Hanoi Train Street in the video, and there's a reason for that. Let me tell you that it's a sort of "expectation vs. reality". When visiting the area, forget about all the awesome photos you've probably seen on Instagram. It's chaotic and always be prepared to be called out by local vendors and policemen. There are probably better spots to stay or better time to visit, but we weren't prepared when we visited, so it was exhilarating at best or scary at worst, depending on your perspective.Don't forget the Night Market and everything there is to buy. I'm not too much into trinkets and souvenirs, but I was enticed to buy something there. I'm more into food, especially the local fruits. I had a great time eating a lot of fruits that are new to my palate.
I guess that's all for this post. Enjoy the video!

Hello everyone!
Here I am again, sharing snippets of my travels to Taiwan last year. This time, I want to share a short video from our short "hike" in Qingtiangang Grassland as part of our Yangmingshan tour.It was one of the tours where we felt having an hour to roam around one area is never enough to fully explore the area or at least be satisfied by what the place has to offer. Having a chance to visit Qingtiangang Grassland, it's forever etched in my memory and that the world is so beautiful for me to just stay in one place. It solidified my resolve to continue travelling or at least never stop dreaming about visiting the places of my dreams.
Situated in Yangmingshan National Park, which is not that far from Taipei but it's free from the crowd and noise of the city, Qingtiangang Grassland is one of the best places to hike in Taiwan. The first thing that got me was the space — the endless, wide, open space with the huge, gentle hills that were green (or brown) as far as one can see. The land just seems to spread out before the mountains, and very often there was mist sitting on top of the grasslands, it gives a feeling as if one is dreaming. The temperature was just right for hiking and there are many trails which wind through the grasslands and the surrounding forests. In spring and summer the vibrant colors of the wild flowers are out and the whole place looks like it has come alive, full of bright colours; you can almost feel that every single step on the trail will unveil another shade of green, yellow or purple. I have to stop and just look. As I have read, it was previously used as a pasture for cattle and still now you can see a wild buffalo wandering around the meadows. It is a plus to the place and I love it when I see such things.
Here are the posts I made from our travels in Taiwan, but expect more to come as there are still a lot that I haven't shared yet:
[1] Another Dream Come True!
[2] Standing at the Place of My Dreams: Qingjing Farm, Nantou, Taiwan
[3] Cherry Blossoms of Qingjing Farm, Nantou, Taiwan
[4] The Charm of Taiwanese Highlands at the Old England Manor, Nantou County, Taiwan
[5] More of the Old England Manor in Nantou, Taiwan
[6] From Taipei to Taichung and Zhongshe Flower Market in Houli District
[7] The Flowers of Zhongshe Flower Market
[8] Ximending's Night Scene
[9] Ximending Night Market Food Trip
[10] Qingjing Farm in Nantou, Taiwan

I guess that's all for this post. Enjoy the video!

Hello everyone!
This video is just very short because this is the only video I have in Ninh Binh that's in landscape format. Well, maybe there are other videos somewhere in my laptop that are still to be recovered. It's not surprising that I only have these videos because I never intended to shoot long videos. I only take photos and a few short videos for Instagram. That's why most of my videos are in portrait format. Anyway, I'll still share this here because my I want to compare the traction of my videos with those from my mother's FB page.
This video shows a glimpse of what it's like having a river cruise in Ninh Binh. It's the main highlight of our day tour in Ninh Binh. It's called Tam Coc River Cruise in Bich Dong, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
The whole boat tour took about two hours through one of the most scenic locations in the world. Through the flooded rice paddies, towering karst formations, and caves, it was definitely one of the best moments we had in Vietnam. We initially planned to go to Ha Long Bay, but changed the whole itinerary to Ninh Binh. Trivia: Ninh Binh is one of the shooting locations of King Kong: Skull Island.I have so many photos to share, but I'm still so lazy to sort and edit them. For now, just have this very short video. For sure, there will be a time to upload all the proper posts of these places. At least I intend to share most of my previous travels before my major travel this year.
I guess that's all for this post. Enjoy the video!

Hello everyone!
It's time to share the videos from my first international travel. I shared about Vietnam and there are still a lot to share especially from our river cruise in Ninh Binh. However, I'm in the mood to share our temple hopping in Vientiane, Laos. It's one of the best last-minute decisions we made. From Vietnam, we travelled to Laos via a sleeper bus that took us 26 hours from Hanoi to Vientiane. Our original itinerary was supposed to just stay in Vientiane for one night and travel the next day to Vang Vieng. After the grueling 26 hours in the bus and crossing an international border that looks like North Korea, we were so tired once we reached Vientiane. Since we were already so amazed by the nature trip in Ninh Binh, we ditched the original Vang Vieng itinerary and decided to just explore Vientiane.
If you're into Buddhist temples, Thailand must be the first country in your mind. We also had a fair share of temple experience in Thailand, but I felt the temples in Viantiane are much more intimate. One reason is that Thailand charges fees to visit their temples which became tourist attractions themselves. In Vientiane, it's really a place of worship so it's mostly the locals that can be seen in their temples. In Thailand, expect a lot of tourists, but in Vientiane, you can have the temples to yourselves except when there are a few tourists and worshipping locals. In Laos, expect a lot of photos without any other tourists. It's solemn and quiet. We only paid 30,000 kip in Haw Phra Kaew. The rest of the temples and landmarks we visited are free. Pha That Luang might have an entrance fee, but we were not able to enter because it was already closed when we got there. The whole park surrounding the golden stupa is free though and Pha That Luang looks more majestic on the outside. The Hor Dhammasabha Buddhist Convention Hall was also closed during our visit because of an ongoing renovation. Overall, it was one of the highlights in our Indo-China trip. Sometimes the unexpected changes in itinerary would turn out to be epic. I felt more connected to Buddhism in Vientiane than in Bangkok.
I guess that's all for this post. Enjoy the video!

Hello everyone!
I Snapped about not being able to sleep last night (actually earlier this morning) that I edited some videos from our hike to Lake Holon in South Cotabato. I'm playing with a lot of things in Capcut and I'm amazed by how easy it is now to create videos. I'm far from being good at editing, but I'm really enjoying the process. I'll continue creating short videos for my mother's Reels (because her Facebook is already monetized) and also share them here. I want to have a first-hand comparison between Facebook monetization and Hive. I'm so excited for this whole process!I realized I haven't shared anything yet about our Lake Holon adventure. It's time to have a glimpse of the lake's enchanting allure. Upon reaching the view deck in Kule Trail, I realized why so many Filipinos are sharing their experiences in Lake Holon on social media. The trip was all worth it!
Lake Holon is a crater lake of Mt. Melibengoy or Mt. Parker. No one knows the exact depth of the lake, but one thing is for sure: the crystal clear waters and the stunning view of the lake draws a lot of tourists from all around the country. It's not yet well-known to international tourists though. I would say that the whole trip to the crater lake is an experience and an adventure in itself. From the death defying motorcycle ride to the slow-paced steep ascent to the mouth of the crater to another steep descent to the lake, it's not for everyone. I'm just happy I experienced it while I still have the energy and will to climb mountains.Of course, I'll share the whole experience in a separate post(s), but for now, have a taste of its ethereal calmness. Just know that before that calmness, you have to endure the whole ordeal of climbing a mountain.
I guess that's all for this post. Enjoy the video!

Hello everyone!
This video is symbolic as this is the very first video I edited myself. My past videos were edited by @indayclara. Now, this is just very basic, but I think it's my first step to creating long-form content in video format.I still have to make a proper post about Kaipuhan Sulfur Vents, but I want to start sharing a short video of the place. It's also my way of gauging the reception to my videos. I want to make more videos about my travels soon as I feel travel vlogging is still untapped here in Hive.
Kaipuhan Sulfur Vents is a nature preserve located near Mt. Talinis. It's the place where beauty and destruction are juxtaposed. Imagine standing at the place where the evidence of volcanic activity of a mountain is evident. The air is very warm and humid, and the whole place is covered by the stench of rotting eggs. Fumaroles of different sizes scatter around and yet the whole place is very beautiful.
I have so many philosophical musings about this place, but I'll just reserve them for the proper post. In the mean time, let me just emphasize the sheer forces of nature and the inevitability of death when subjected to those forces. And yet, life thrives even in the harshest conditions. That makes the place very dynamic and the beauty lies even in the algae that thrives in the acidic stream water that started in the fumaroles.
I guess that's all for this post. Enjoy the video!

To say that I was paralyzed is an understatement. It's been a while and I was contemplating leaving Hive altogether. But then the people from @hiveph visited Cebu and made me realize that my curation stint was not the be-all and end-all of my existence in Hive. The people that I made connections with are what's most important. Besides, I still get some random messages from time to time from Cebu pips asking for help with their withdrawal. What will happen to them if I'm completely cut off from Hive? I'm not having some hero complex, or maybe I am, I just want to be there to help in any way I can.
I know that what happened to me was self-inflicted and a cautionary tale on what I should look out for in the future. Now that the announcement about @worldmappin is out, I guess I will still stick around. For now, I want to rekindle my first passion for content creation. It seems I lost along the way. It's also time for a peaceful era and everything turbulent that happened. Just like this video, I find it so serene that I can't help but share.
I guess that's all! Enjoy the video!

Hi! It's me again with another short video after one week of not trying to make an effort to post anything. Anyway, this is about our trip to Qingjing Farm in Nantou, Taiwan. I already made extensive posts about Qingjing Farm and Nantou, but it would be a bummer to let these videos rot in my phone storage. If you're interested to know more about Qingjing Farm, here are the links to my posts:

I still have a lot of photos taken using my camera that I haven't even transferred yet. I might upload them in the future, so be warned in advance. I'm more of reminiscing about my past travels now.
I guess that's all! Enjoy the video!

I was trying to upload my very first TikTok video and came up with this! Together with @indayclara, we had a chance to do freediving again in Moalboal after almost two years. I can't believe it took us that long to visit Moalboal when we were there almost every month a few years ago. Times have changed and our lives have turned a different path, but the sardines and turtles are still there.
I will start exploring some things on TikTok and of course, share the output here. It would have been awesome to have the same UI in Threeshorts as with TikTok or Instagram reels. I'm sure there are other content creators who might be interested in joining from those platforms. Since I'm now free of any promotional activities, I might start promoting Hive on those platforms and see if there are tangible results. Anyway, I know there's so much to improve, but I'm happy with the outcome of this first video.
I guess that's all! Enjoy the video!

I have a lot of videos stored in my phone and I guess it's time to share some of them here. They're only short videos I took for IG reels, but I'm still so lazy editing them, so I'll just share them as is.
For this one, as I was scrolling through my saved videos, I was amazed by the oil palm plantation we passed by when we visited La Palmera Mountain Ridge in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat. When you say oil palm plantations, it's usually Malaysia and Indonesia as these two countries are the world's largest producers of palm oil. I didn't know we have oil palm plantations here in the Philippines. Maybe because it's located in a remote municipality in Mindanao and the reputation in that part of the country is not that good. It's only now that tourists are starting to explore the beauty that's hidden in those places.
Due to its remoteness, the only mode of transportation going to the ridge is via habal-habal or motorcycle. That's an adventure in itself; even going to Columbio is another adventure worthy of a different post. Anyway, I'm just amazed by how large the plantation is. It's almost like the whole mountain has been converted into oil palm groves. The guide told me that the locals prefer oil palm now because they can harvest almost every month and the value of oil palm fruits is higher now.
I guess that's it. I hope you'll enjoy this video!

I had to take a break from my Taiwan series because @indayclara has been constantly asking me when I should upload this video or if I should upload it at all. It's been in our shared Google Drive for almost three months, and I didn't even watch it. Those who were present at the party had already uploaded their POVs. It has been long overdue for this video.
In my defense, a lot of things have happened since the party, and I was actually on the fence about this. Since it feels like the dust has settled, it's time to look back on the good memories. It's one of the happiest memories I have since joining Hive. Anyway, before I get all too sentimental, just watch the video.
I guess that's all! Enjoy the video!

Avisala!
One of the reasons why tourists flock to Siargao is because of surfing. Aside from the island's laidback vibe, the community built around surfing has been remarkable. Of course, when we had our chance to visit Siargao last December 7-11, 2023, we didn't miss our chance to try riding the waves of paradise, as Ser Arc (@kev.incredible) had called it. It was our first major activity on the island, as we anticipated it would require a lot of energy. Indeed, even if the activity is just an hour for Php 700.00, it was one of the most strenuous moments of my life. But it was a hundred times more fun!
I was expecting a lot of cuts and bruises from the fall off the surfboard, but I had no cuts or bruises. Many of my friends who tried surfing said you would fall many times and be cut and bruised by the sharp rocks; it didn't happen to us. As long as you fall correctly, there will be no issues.
I thought it would be very difficult to balance on a surfboard, but I was able to stand on my first try. We just followed the instructions of our guides and all of us were able to stand. We had a great time and even got very competitive. Let me just warn you that one hour is more than enough for you to get really tired. No wonder surfers are very fit.
I guess that's all! Enjoy the video!

Hello everyone!
While my days lately have been marked by travels upon travels, I have been feeling uncomfortable with what's happening in my life. I don't to delve much into the details. Good thing I'm always reminded why I'm doing what I'm doing. One of those reminders is this short drone footage taken during our island hopping yesterday here in Siargao.
I have always been reminded that when it comes to island hopping and tropical vibes, nothing comes close to the islands of the Philippines. Amidst often turbulent seas and high winds, there lies, like a speck of dust in the map, somewhere in the middle of a vast ocean some unparalleled beauty where only a few who dared can gaze upon it.
By this video, may I be reminded in the future that despite what's happening in my life, there's still so much beauty to marvel. The world is still so big and beautiful for me to just stay in one place.

Hello everyone!

A huge thank you to @indayclara for bringing me to Medellin Pain Relief! I have been holding on to this video because I want to check if the pain in my right hip would come back. I don't want to publish a review about a service that I haven't personally experienced. Although I trusted the doctor because of @indayclara's posts, I have been hesitant to have my bones cracked. 😅

Since I started mountain climbing, I felt this slight pain in my right hip. When I did yoga a few years ago, the instructor told me that I should work on the right part of my body because the muscles have so much compression. Maybe because of no proper weight distribution during my major climbs, the imbalance caused the muscles in my right pelvis to experience more pressure. This manifested as slight pain and shorter reach during alignment. I didn't mind it too much because I felt it wasn't a big deal.

As I spent most of my days in a seating position, the pain became more noticeable and I had to punch or massage my right hip to relieve some of the pain. It took years before I finally admit it's not normal anymore. It's a sign of aging.

Then came @indayclara who's been raving about how good Dr. Ric of Medellin Pain Relief is. She's been inviting me for a long time, but I kept on brushing it off because I was skeptical. When she almost can't walk, it was Dr. Ric who managed to make her pain more bearable. She was able to bring her family to the clinic!

When it was agreed to have a meetup with the teachers in San Remegio last May, @indayclara booked an appointment with the chiropractic clinic the next day. Because I had no money at that time, she even paid for the fee and I just reimbursed her a few days later. I am so thankful that I agreed to the set-up! I can say that it's been almost two months that I can barely feel any pain in my right hip. It was such a relief especially when I'm curating and compiling posts.

Just watch the video for the whole experience. If you're in Cebu and you want to try that chiropractic clinic, just search Medellin Pain Relief and all the information is available online. Just make sure that you book an appointment before going to the clinic.

Hello everyone!

I consider myself a lifelong learner because I'm always in pursuit of knowledge, albeit it has morphed more into an informal setting and more for personal fulfillment than professional development. I am also an educator because I offer tutorial services. I love teaching because as Aristotle said, "teaching is the highest form of understanding". Although I can always choose to pursue a career in teaching, I don't want to be bothered by the bureaucracy and the paperwork associated with the profession. That's why I always admire teachers especially those who spent most of their life in the profession.

When @indayclara invited me to join the Hive Teachers' Meet Up in the north of Cebu, I told her to fix the date and that I'll cancel all my plans just to join the event. That sounds dramatic, but it's true. I really admire teachers because most of my young adult life decisions were influenced by my teachers, including the program that I eventually took in college. I was a little bit intimidated by them at first, but I guess mutual admiration won over and everything just became fun. I don't want to discuss more about the meet-up. Just watch the video. You can also check out the individual perspectives of all the attendees.

The video was just a small part of the whole event and what I am excited about are the opportunities opened by that meet-up. Collaborations are to be expected in the future, especially in onboarding more teachers into Hive.

Hello everyone!
My Coron Island Tour has been finally wrapped, so it's time to move on to the next adventure! When I went to Coron, Palawan for the first time (March 2022), I decided to return even though I was still there. Two months later (May 2022), I was back in Palawan, but it was in a different airport. We decided to explore El Nido first before going back to Coron. We also decided to visit the New 7 Wonders of Nature - Puerto Princesa Underground River. It was an epic experience!
I'll share the Underground River experience in the next post, but for now, I'll share this teaser for the first part of our adventure. This includes a sneak peek of the following tourist spots in Palawan:
[1] Puerto Princesa Underground River[2] Helicopter Island[3] Hidden Beach
This is just a short video for now, but I decided to go all out on the next post in this series. It's the famous Underground River after all! I hope you'll enjoy this video!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another freediving video! It's a video where we had a very difficult time in the vicinity of Lapus-Lapus Island in Malapascua. This was taken last February and this was our first freedive after Super Typhoon Odette. Our sanctuary in Moalboal was decimated, so we went to the north of Cebu. I'm amazed by the health of the corals surrounding Malapascua.

I now understood why the area has so much stronger current compared to the rest of the island even just on a normal day. The name of the island, Lapus-Lapus, is a Bisaya term that means to go through, perforate, or come out to the other side. This is because the island is separated by a narrow channel where the waves and currents are much stronger. In Bisaya term, the seawater will just "lapus" or pass through the channel and come out to the other side.

We were a little bit crazy for pushing to freedive on that area, but the corals are much more awesome there. Because of the current, there were also a lot of fish species as food is abundant. It was much more tiring, but it was all worth it!

I guess that's all for this video! Kudos to @indayclara for the awesome edit and an excellent choice of music!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another freediving video! It's been a while since I posted something. It has been a roller coaster 25 days, but I'm happy to be able to sit down and post something. I won't detail what happened because everything was chaos. Good thing I found my zen mode again just like in this video.

To be honest, I didn't have any good expectations after the freedive because when we were there the first time, there was an infestation of crown-of-thorns starfish that lead to the bleaching of the corals. I think they were able to contain it because the corals are much healthier now.

The coral garden is located in a shallow part of the sea at the north of the island. It's not like in Moalboal in terms of structure, but it's just as amazing. The carpet of healthy corals extends for miles. I had fun just snorkeling most of the time because it's too shallow to freedive.

I guess that's all for this video! Kudos to @indayclara for the awesome edit and an excellent choice of music!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another freediving video! I've been to Malapascua Island about three times already and for the first two vacations we had on the island, I wasn't able to take videos of the shipwreck that made the island famous aside from the white beaches. I made a promise in my previous posts about the island that I'll definitely go back and explore the Japanese shipwreck, and then share them with you. Here it is!

@indayclara already shared her video, so I guess it's my turn. Visibility was not good at that time, but we didn't have a choice. It was still a fun dive. The shipwreck is only about 6 meters below the surface and it's near the lighthouse of the island. Depending on the season and current, there are times that the sand underwater gets disturbed, so it's inevitable to have poor visibility.

According to the guides, the shipwreck was from a Japanese ship that sunk during World War II. Due to the age of the shipwreck, what's left was basically the hull of the ship and it will not be long before everything's taken over by corals. If you happen to visit Cebu, I recommend to visit Malapascua Island and see the shipwreck for yourself before it will completely disintegrate.

Hello everyone!

Last Maundy Thursday, we finally had the chance freedive again. It was special because it was our first freedive after the Super Typhoon Odette. The sardines are still there, but the corals are gone. I finally had the chance to perform that coveted dive where I went down the school of sardines and then surface under them. It was so much fun!

Hello everyone!

It's been months since we had freediving and good thing there's a scheduled activity this weekend. I really wanted to feel at peace again because of some situations that triggered me lately. Good thing I was still able to compose myself because I had an awesome overnight camp last weekend. Before that anticipated dive, let me share this last video in our reserves. This was taken before Super Typhoon Odette, so the corals are still intact in that part of Moalboal. Now, we don't know the extent of the damage and I don't want to dive there yet because I can't relax when I see the devastation in that underwater world.

This video was taken at Turtle Bay, Moalboal. I have been to Panagsama multiple times and you can see that in a lot of videos I uploaded in the past. But this part of Moalboal was new to me. I just heard the place a lot from the local guides that the turtles hang out there hence the name. The reason why I haven't been there in the past is that it's very far from Panagsama. Good thing @indayclara invited me to try freediving in the area even if we had to walk kilometers just to get there.

Just watch the video and tell me what you think about it. See you in my next post!

Hello everyone!

I have been relatively absent the past week because I got sick. I just recovered from a nasty flu. I still have pending transparency reports of the donation drives I've been involved with. For now, let me share this video of the relief operation we had in Alegria, Cebu. For more details about that relief operation, you can check out @indayclara's post.

I would like to thank @romeskie, @tpkidkai, @adamada, and the rest of Hive PH team for this donation. Special mention to @chillwithshanna and @indayclara for the awesome job!

Hello everyone!

I already published a freediving video that featured Pescador Island in Moalboal. In that video, we were playing with the bubbles from the scuba divers from below. It was so much fun and a one-of-a-kind experience. I've been to Pescador Island twice, but I was still a stranger to freediving back then. When we visit the third time, I'm so glad I can freedive because there's so much diversity of marine life in that island compared to Panagsama.

This video is the second part of our freediving experience on the island. After having fun with the bubbles, we explored the other side of the island where the corals are so much concentrated. No, I think the whole island is surrounded by those awesome corals.

There's a part of the video where I can be seen touching a coral. As a disclaimer, I know that it's not advisable to touch those corals. They're living organisms so it's best to leave them alone and just let our eyes feast on their beauty. Another reason is that you might get cut as some of them have sharp edges. It's best to be safe. However, in this case, the guides told us that if you slightly touch that heart-shaped coral, you will find your love life. I know it's just some myth or something, but I'm desperate. 😂 I even asked them many times if it was okay to touch those corals, but they insisted that it's okay. "Just touch slightly because you might get cut", they said. And so I did and guess what? That myth might be coming true! 😏

This video was taken by our go-to guide, photographer, and videographer in Moalboal - @sabanalchristian. It was edited by @indayclara which I admit she's getting good at editing videos!

I guess that's all for this post. I hope you'll enjoy this video!

Because of the devastation of Super Typhoon Odette, sadly, we might not be able to see those corals in Pescador Island anymore. I have seen a video that was shared by my friend on Instagram that all the corals in Panagsama are damaged.

Hello everyone!

I already published quite a few freediving videos with the sardines in Panagsama. You can find them in my 3speak account or just scroll down in my blog. Since I considered Panagsama in Moalboal to be my second home here in Cebu, I won't get tired of sharing freediving content, especially with the turtles and sardines. This time, it's different because we had the opportunity to interact with the sardines up close.

I'm actually jealous of Claire during this time because she was able to dive below the sardines and swim slowly back to the surface causing the sardine formation to encircle around her. But my ears were sort of "inverted" that instead of popping during equalization, it felt like water was rushing inside my eardrums. It was very painful that I stayed on the level where I don't have to equalize.

Even if I wasn't able to dive deeper, I am still satisfied with the result because I was aiming for that somber and moody feel of the video, which was amazingly achieved by @indayclara's edit. It feels as if it matched my overall mood for the past week. Everything is just awesome as if it falls in its right place.

This video was taken by our go-to guide, photographer, and videographer in Moalboal - @sabanalchristian. It was edited by @indayclara which I admit she's getting good at editing videos!

I guess that's all for this post. I hope you'll enjoy this video!

Hello everyone!

This is my best freediving experience so far! We have been freediving here in Moalboal for quite a while now and we didn't get a chance to freedive in Pescador Island. Pescador Island is just of the coast of Panagsama and it's in the middle Tañon Strait between the islands of Negros and Cebu. It's known for its awesome coral sanctuary and some quirky underwater formations. Finally, after months of skirting the island off our list, we had the chance to freedive there last weekend.

In this video, we were playing with the bubbles from the tanks of scuba divers from below. Claire (@indayclara) already shared her version of this awesome experience. It was out of this world!

In the last part of the video, you can see bubbles coming from the corals. It's a sight to behold! There's actually a cave (they called it "The Cathedral") underneath where the scuba divers can enter and the expelled air from their tanks would accumulate at the top of the cave. Eventually, the air would seep through the corals above, creating that magical sight with the fish, corals, and bubbles. I wanted to pursue my advanced scuba diving class now just to explore that part of Pescador Island.

This video was taken by our go-to guide, photographer, and videographer in Moalboal - @sabanalchristian. It was edited by @indayclara after my constant nag.

I hope you'll enjoy this video!

Hello everyone!

Last August, I made a sneak peek video of our freedive in Catmon. It was the first time that I was able to use my Go Pro Hero 9. By the way, I haven't shared that my Go Pro was damaged. Initially, there were green vertical lines on the screen after we went to Moalboal last September. I tried to manually update the firmware, but the screen became all black now. I didn't worry anyway because it's still under warranty and I'll have it replaced tomorrow. Back to this video, I made a promise in that sneak peek that I'll share the whole video, but it turned out that the videos are not of good quality. The water was not clear at that time due to the strong current.

Instead of worrying about those videos, I went to Kuya Jom's Crib again last October 29 together with @indayclara. It was an adventure of its own and we had a great time even if we just spent about 3 hours there and went home immediately after. In a way, I still fulfilled my promise, but it's a different video this time.

This is video was directed, taken, and edited by @indayclara! She's my constant freediving companion and I'm so happy that she's always game with whatever we can think of especially when it comes to freediving. I was so excited to see the final outcome that I kept on bugging her about the video, but the girl was so busy in the past two weeks so I couldn't complain.

I bet she's inspired by Taylor Swift's All Too Well that she made a Not Too Well version. I'm not complaining because, in that period, I was not really well. I already shared in my previous post that there were a lot of triggers that I didn't process causing my emotional instability. But I'm so much better now. I bet that freedive helped me mute the noisy world above.

I hope you'll enjoy this video!

Hello everyone!

This is the last of my freediving videos that are taken during our dive in Moalboal and Oslob. As always, with me are @indayclara as my constant freediving companion and @sabanalchristian as our go-to underwater photographer and videographer. I won't probably be uploading freediving videos for a while except the ones taken in Catmon, which I haven't uploaded yet. We decided to rest for a few months to prepare for our official training and certification. At least we will become worthy admins of the Freediving Community.

This video is a compilation of our first dive in Oslob. As I mentioned in my previous videos, we were supposed to stay in Oslob for one day and that's just to dive with the whale sharks, but we didn't know they're not allowing any contact with those creatures during Wednesdays. We decided to extend our stay and spent that day freediving near Stay N Save B&B. It was just a fun dive with a lot of quirky stunts. I just followed whatever stunt @indayclara can think of.

Since I'm done with the freediving videos, I don't know what to post next. I still have a lot of travels to be shared, but I'm not in the mood to share them yet. Maybe I'll change my mind in the coming days. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy the video.

Please don't forget to drop by in the comments and tell me what you think about this video. I would love to read your comments! As always, thank you very much for the support!

It's finally here!

I've been talking about this video for a long time and I was even reminded by @indayclara to upload this one already because it has been long overdue.

I already talked about my position about these kinds of tourism. I felt that I became a hypocrite for doing this, but my stance is still the same. Maybe I can talk about everything about this in detail in another post, but let's just enjoy the video for now. It's one of the most surreal experiences I've had in my life.

Please don't forget to drop by in the comments and tell me what you think about this video. I would love to read your comments! As always, thank you very much for the support!

Hello everyone!

I'm now home from Boracay and I was planning to post either the video with the whale sharks or about my 4th anniversary here in Hive, but I'm still getting back my momentum after that one week of vacation. Since I missed posting, I'll share this short video instead. This was still taken during our 4 days freediving in Moalboal and Oslob.

I think I already shared a freediving video with the famed sardines in Panagsama, Moalboal. This short video is still special for me because they were unusually (or usually, don't know their population density in that area) in high population during our dive. Plus they clumped together very near the shore and the water is also very calm and clear. I think @indayclara has a much better and longer video, but I still had fun.

See you in my next posts! The video with the whale sharks is already done, but I decided to upload it later. As always, thank you so much for all the support!

Hello everyone!

I'm back with another freediving video! This video was taken during our freediving at Tuble Marine Sanctuary in Moalboal, Cebu. It was just a fun dive, but I think it was the deepest in all of my fun dives. The corals in Moalboal are still unmatched. It was another experience that I can add to my list.

I'll just make this short. Just watch the video and I hope you'll enjoy it as I did. As always, thank you to @sabanalchristian for taking and editing my video. He's our constant guide whenever we go freediving in Moalboal. If you're planning to dive in Moalboal, you can contact him here in Hive or reach out to me so that I can patch you with him. He's one of the most accommodating guides out there.

I'm actually uploading this video here in Boracay - one of the best islands in the world. I was here last 2019 and it was an epic escapade, but now with the pandemic, travel is a different ordeal. I might share the experience about the whole experience while travelling as a tourist during the pandemic. It's the main reason why I was not very active in the last few days. But being here now on the island, it was all worth it!

See you in my next posts! I think the video with the whale sharks is almost done so I'm very excited to upload that. As always, thank you so much for all the support!

Hello everyone!

As noted in my previous video, this is the last video of my super extended birthday celebration where we had freediving in Moalboal and Alegria. To recap, the first video was on my birthday. I think it was the clearest freediving so far for me since I started this new obsession. The sardine run was epic. The second video was the line dive training where I had a new personal best at 15 meters and a dive time of more than a minute. Those two first videos were taken in Moalboal. The third video was in Alegria Dive Resort where we explored those underwater statues.

This video was on our last day at the resort. We decided to dive early because the visibility in the afternoon the day before was not very good. Also, we had to check out and go back to the city before noon, so we had to savor the last hours in the resort. It was mainly just a relaxing morning dive.

We drifted beyond the area where the statues are located and headed south of the resort. It's not as packed with corals as in Moalboal and the terrain underwater is very different. Moalboal is characterized by a drastic drop while Alegria is more of a slope.

In the video, I was with Claire (@indayclara) and Aimee. Harjay was also with us and Christian (@sabanalchristian) was the photographer and videographer. I'm actually excited to what Claire is about to share about this freedive because they were doing a lot of stunts.

Please do subscribe to Freediving Community here in Hive! My freediving photos and videos are to be shared in this community. Thank you @indayclara for heeding to my continuous barrage to create and be the admin of this community!

I guess that's all for this post! See you on the next one! I have an exciting post ahead. Maybe for some, it will not be as exciting, but I can already feel the excitement in drafting that post even if I haven't started yet. I just had a rejuvenating vacation in Moalboal last weekend and I'm so stoked to share that one. We didn't freedive, we just stayed in this awesome AirBnB that shattered all my expectations. Hopefully, I'll be able to translate this excitement to you all.

Hello everyone!

Aren't you fed up with freediving videos yet? Well, there's more coming after this. I have the last video in our last dive in Alegria after this and I'll have @sabanalchristian edit my Catmon freedive. I think I showed a sneak peek on that freedive, but I haven't the photos and videos yet. Expect to have them uploaded in the coming days or weeks.

In this video, we explored another freedive site in Alegria which is a few towns away from Moalboal. Still the continuation of my birthday freedive, we decided to book in Alegria Dive Resort for just one night because we were intrigued by that Medusa statue that was circulating online. We wanted to see that statue with our own eyes to be the judge if it's as good as it's portrayed in social media.

We arrived at the resort in the afternoon and wasted no time trying freediving in those waters. It was our first time there and we didn't anticipate that Php 750 ($15) freediving fee! We didn't know it was that big for a freediving fee when it was just free in Moalboal. Claire (@indayclara) was not aware of that either so it was out of our budget, but we always bring extra pocket money for cases like that so I decide to just pay for them since it was my birthday anyway.

The owner of the resort briefed us on the things to do while freediving and told us on what to expect there. He told us that they put something new underwater just a few hours ago. He said we might be the first one to try that underwater structure (see at the end of the video).

The statues there are Buddha, Knights of Templar, Poseidon, Medusa. They said there's a statue of Mary, but I haven't seen it. Buddha and Knights of Templar are at 3-4 meters, Poseidon at 5 meters, and Medusa is at 7 meters. There's also a swing underwater just for photo ops.

Overall it was a fun experience except for that freediving fee which was completely not anticipated. Plus I got to chase a turtle.

This video was still taken and edited by @sabanalchristian who had been very accommodating to all our requests of shots and montages to try. He used Pouring Out by Asher Fulero as background music for this video. Some of you have asked for the background music in my previous videos and I apologize I wasn't able to answer them, but rest assured those are royalty-free music and there's no need for attribution.

Please do subscribe to Freediving Community here in Hive! My freediving photos and videos are to be shared in this community. Thank you @indayclara for heeding to my continuous barrage to create and be the admin of this community!

I guess that's all for this post! See you on the next one! Hopefully, it will be a different one. I planned to have a break with freediving posts, but I got lazy conceptualizing on what to post so it might be another freediving adventure again. I'm still on that bliss though. Reminiscing that freediving experience through these videos really made me feel special on that birthday.

Hello everyone!

This is the continuation of my birthday freedive in Moalboal. The first one I uploaded four days ago was just a fun dive. This one was line training. I'm so happy @indayclara included this in our itinerary because I attained a new personal best! I'm now comfortable at 15 meters and more than 1 minute underwater. I find it strange that I had no difficulty in equalizing during line dives, but it's so difficult during fun and drift dives. My problem is my left ear.

I mentioned in one of my posts here when I started freediving that I don't care about bragging rights and personal bests, but I think it was a premature judgment. I now realized I care about my personal best. I still don't care if someone new to freediving would say he can already reach 40 meters, but I care about my own development. Reaching deeper and holding my breath longer means I can explore underwater more and marvel at its beauty more. My next goal is to reach 20 meters and I know I can attain it soon because when I was having that line dive, I still had some air even when I already reached 15 meters.

When we were in Catmon, I was already comfortable at 10 meters, but I never thought I can reach 15 meters this time. I had no difficulty at all when I reached 15 meters thrice. They even suggested trying 20 meters or higher, but I decided to be comfortable at 15 meters first before trying deeper. It was so nice to attain a new personal best during line dives, but it's a challenge to translate that personal best during fun dives. Hopefully, I won't have difficulty in equalizing in my next dives.

This video was still taken and edited by @sabanalchristian, a very talented local guide in Moalboal. I hope you'll give him a follow because he will be posting his underwater videos soon!

Another thing that I'm so excited about was the creation of Freediving Community here in Hive! My freediving photos and videos can finally be shared in this community. Thank you @indayclara for heeding to my continuous barrage to create and be the admin of this community!

I guess that's all for this post! Thank you very much to Hive and to you who continued to support my posts no matter how trivial they are! I really appreciate you all for helping me making my dreams a reality.

Before this post gets sentimental, let's just end it here. Please do enjoy the video!

Hello everyone!

I uploaded my birthday celebration post 5 days ago and noted that I'll be having a birthday freedive as my way of celebrating my 28 years in this world. I was really happy it was pushed through. A little bit of backstory, I always treated my birthday as a normal day. I don't want to celebrate it because I thought it's just a waste of effort and money. I even hated that part where I'm forced to respond to those who greeted me on my birthday. This year, I decided to change all that. I wanted to celebrate my birthday on my own terms. So, I already told my parents ahead that I won't be at home and that they don't need to bother preparing something for me.

All I wanted was to freedive in Panagsama, Moalboal on my birthday. I wanted to spend my time with the turtles, sardines, and corals there. I was inspired by @indayclara's birthday celebration a month ago. I was with her during her birthday and we just had a great time freediving in Moalboal. I wanted as simple as that. We already planned this freedive after her birthday last month. But at the end of July, lockdowns were initiated again because of the increasing number of COVID cases here in Cebu. I already set my expectations back then. I thought my birthday celebration would be boring again. I was on the pessimistic side while @indayclara was still so optimistic that it would happen. Good thing travel is still allowed, but there are checkpoints in different cities and municipalities along the way. When we reached Moalboal, it seems we were the only tourists there.

If you've seen @indayclara's post about my birthday celebration, you'll realize how happy I was when they prepared something for me. I didn't expect that at all! All I wanted was to freedive.

This video was taken and edited by @sabanalchristian, a very talented local guide in Moalboal who became friends with @indayclara. She invited him to join Hive and he made an introduction post two days ago. Follow him and be excited about his freediving videos! Throughout our whole stay in Moalboal and even Alegria, Christian was our photographer, videographer, choreographer, and guide. We eventually became friends. He was always cool with whatever shot @indayclara wanted to be taken.

What I love about this video is that he was able to present this calm part of me. That's because I am really calm when I'm underwater. I guess that's the part of freediving that hooked me. The video is all about movement. Although I'm still not that graceful and have a lot to improve, he was able to capture some awesome footage during my freedive.

I hope you'll enjoy the video because I'm really proud of it. Kudos to @sabanalchristian for putting it all together!
