Everyones favorite Frame Center framer, the master of mats, the sultan of sewing, the dynamic drymounter, Mark Slaven has sat down with us to speak about his new Show in our very own Frame Center Gallery. A joint show featuring pieces of Marks and his wife Patrica Walsh with the theme of Movement!
Listen in as Mark explains his process for creating his unique walmounted sculptural pieces, how long it's been since he had been able to make anything, and how his pieces play off his wifes photography and creates a terrific gallery experience.

This week we had our first ever group discussion, with 5 members of the 4th Floor Artist society. Sitting down with us today is the current president of the 4th Floor Artists, Rob Lynch, along with Darlenen Bradley, Drew Gaffney, Brian Adgate, and Jill Gallant-Shaw. We cover several topics during our discussion but the main reason for there visit is to promote the upcoming 30th Anniversary and there Open Studios this weekend on April 29th and 30th at the Sand Paper Factory in Rockland MA. We get some insights into what materials and mediums each of the artists works in as well as some of their personal thoughts into their processes. Hopefully this will be the first of many visits from the 4th Floor Artist and we'll get to speak with them again.

Well this is exciting, our first ever recorded full episode outside of the studio! We had the honor of being invited to record with a good friend of ours Kjeld Mahoney at his gallery, soon to be renamed "After Glow", and see all the changes he's recently made there. Listen now as we talk about how he got his start in photography, the challenges of those early jobs, and how he's continue to evolve his buisness and do what he truly loves to do.
In todays session we met with Amber Waterhouse, Artist and the owner of Waterhouse, a shop located in Hingham Center specilizing in art and antiques. While chatting we discuss the uniques aspects of owning and operating her buisness, the benefits and struggles that come with it, some of her favorite artists, and her view on the art community on the South Shore.
This week we had a quick sitdown with Nate Nottingham, Art Teacher at Norwell High School. We discussed topics that ranged from his current work with his students, their program for the AP students, and their show at the James Library. His own struggles with how he see's himself as an artist and his struggle to not be identified as only a certain type of artist was an interesting subject that I'm sure most of our fellow artists feel a connection too. In today's episode we sit down and talk with Local Artist Laura Jennings. Laura has been long time customer of the Frame Center and works with several of the Local Art Societies and Support Groups along the South Shore. As an extra bonus you'll be able to hear both Dave and Laura's experience at being on Channel 5's Show Chronicle, how were each involved? Well, you'll just have to listen to find out.
In today's episode we sit down Sally Dean, local artist and Education Coordinator for the Duxbury Art Complex. She has an upcoming show titled, "Reimaginings" at the Hingham Public Library's Dolphin Gallery for the month of Februrary and will be having her opening reception on Thursday Februrary 9th from 5:30 till 7:30pm. Will be discussing her pieces in this show along with some other recent experiences and changes happening at the Duxbury Art Complex and what people could look forward too if they stop in to check it out.
In this episode of the FCP we sit down with Andrew Flight, once a former employee, is now back with a show in our upstairs gallery. After a interview and a trip down memory lane, Andrew and Dave stroll around the gallery and discuss his works, his thoughts, and plans for the future.
Well its been a heck of year and this little episode wraps up everything and gives us a little look into what's to come in 2023. New artists, new equipment, new location? Well we'll just have to wait and see.

Karie specializes in painting/drawing life like images of animals in various mediums but has recently branched out into doing large scale abstract pieces as well. Her gallery KO Fine Art is where she spends her time creating and teaching. Her pup, Honey, is always with her happy to be in the company of others and a welcome sight to those visiting her space.
