Josh Hicks spent more than 2 decades in the military and government contracting. His Air Force experience not only introduced him to his wife on the firing range but also had him stationed in Europe for a number of years. Demetrius Gibson is a dedicated public servant - serving on the board of directors for the Township of Cook County and the board of trustees. He is committed to diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness. Demetrius is also the newest Dickey's Barbecue Pit owner in Schaumburg Township, Illinois.

Shane is a Veteran who started his military career in the US Marines before joining Army Special Forces as a Weapons Sergeant and most recently retired from the 19th Special Forces as a Team Sergeant. He has previously served with Dallas Police Department and is currently with the Rusk County Sheriff's Office.

Courtney has been with the SPCA for more than a decade in roles that include managing the Animal Care Center, emergency response and surgery technician. She is the President of the Dallas County chapter of Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster where she has used her disaster response and shelter skills to set up numerous shelters and help countless animals. She is also the President of the Dallas County Animal Response Team and has a pet cow named Newton.

Prior to becoming Sheriff, Lupe worked to protect the lives and property of American citizens at home and abroad as a captain in the U.S. National Guard and as a federal agent. After serving in the Vietnam War and the Marines, Lt. Robert Owens joined the Dallas Police Department and served in Patrol, SWAT, Vice and Communications Div. Special Projects in 1974. After 40 years of service, Lt. Owens retired from the Dallas Police Department. Additionally, he has volunteered as an adjunct instructor for the State Department Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program and Homeland Security WMD Tactical Environment course.
