Very simply…
Sinners’ Roadmap is a Bible study podcast for truckers, taught by a trucker, from the cab of a truck.
Sometimes it seems like the wicked are gonna win it all but Jesus sees everything and will not leave our side.
We may not have the same type of enemies that David had but we DO have the same and only hope. That’s Jesus.
By far one of my most favorite psalms of the cannon. I hope it could become one of yours.
Just imagine yourself as a sheep in a flock with the LORD as your shepherd. We need Him the same way.
Look to the heavens above or the written word of God in the Bible and you will find more than enough witness declaring the truth. Which is simply that we are merely dust and there is a Creator who made us. And we’re fallen, and Jesus has humbled Himself, lived perfectly, died innocently in our place, risen from the grave, and now is the Savior to all who call upon Him.
Psalm 14 was a portrait of the sinner, and in contrast while written by the same author, psalm 15 is a description of the godly. The question is raised that who can dwell in the presence of YHWH; and the answer is somewhat bleak for a guy like me who doesn’t fit the bill. Yet, I still have an unshaken assurance of salvation!! Why??!
The verdict is clear. We’ve all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. There is none who do good; not even one. Paul directly quotes these very verses in his epistle to the Romans. It’s true and the very reason for God the Son becoming a man through virgin birth, living perfectly, and being crucified in our place.
Life can get pretty dang rough and even King David was no exception to this rule. Let’s face it, we’re in the “SUCK”, and our only hope for deliverance lies in Jesus. Let’s trust Him through whatever this world, our flesh, and the devil throw at us. We have no other choice.
As far as the world is concerned, it’s only getting darker and worse. The wicked leadership and ignorant followers are growing more numerous by the day which causes the horizon to become bleak and muddled. But the LORD is still on His throne and His name is Jesus. As sure as that is, He is watching all and knows all who call upon Him and rest in Him. Jesus is Lord
Whether it’s the world, the flesh, or the devil that attacks us, the LORD has His eyes fixed on the upright in heart.
Join pastor Todd and me as we discuss the different places in the book of Joshua which seem to point to Jesus.
Lots of oppression in this world; but once Jesus comes back and sits on His throne it’ll be the reckoning.
John came in a very strict and religious way and Jesus came in a very liberal and free way, yet they both preached the same message which was, “Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” They were both rejected by most though not because of the type of lives they lived but the message that they preached. It’s the same today.
Even though we as humans are but dust, and we’re here today and gone tomorrow. Not hardly anything in comparison to the rest of God’s creation; He still chose to become what we are in order to save us!
Be sure to walk in a way that reflects Christ; He not only sees all we do, but knows our thoughts and emotions which most accurately describes who we are.
Ever feel the way David felt as he was writing this psalm? Call upon the same Person he did. Jesus
The LORD will walk with us during troubling times. Is He walking with you right now? Acknowledge your sin and confess Jesus as LORD.
A dog barks because God designed him to do so, and in that the dog praises the LORD. Same for a cow that moos, a horse that whinnies, or a lion that roars. We have been made in God’s image and when we’re told to praise Jesus, we thumb our nose at the idea. Change that while there’s still time. Let all that draws a breathe praise Jesus.
Without a doubt, one of the most expressed points in all of God’s word is that only the humble will find salvation.
One of my most favorite psalms in all of scripture. David describes how close and personable our God, YHWH, really is.
We are utterly helpless without YHWH as our God. We are but a breath, and like a puff of steam off the kettle. Turn to Jesus...
A cry for help to the Almighty. Psalm 143 encapsulates the heart of the sinner seeking grace from the only One who can grant it eternally. And it’s only through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Another psalm of David where he is crying out to the LORD on behalf of his own righteousness. He’s desiring more of it and a continuance in it. He focuses on what comes out of his mouth, where it originates , and the company he keeps.
It can become quite overwhelming in life and feel as if the enemy is all around us. It was this very way for King David; but we see who his hope rested upon. Yep, the LORD; and everyone who does the same inherits that very same comfort and protection. I pray that you know the LORD Jesus. Repent, and believe the gospel.
Another beautiful psalm by king David depicting the omnipresence, omnipotence, and omniscience of Christ Jesus our Lord. He knows all we think, do, and have ever gone through or are going through. I pray you know Him.
Join Pastor Todd and I as we search for Jesus in the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy. Many many Jesus said in the gospel derive from this very book. Hope it blesses you in Jesus name.
2 short letters from John to wrap up his 3 letter series and he really pushes the subject of love
John gives us more points that we can compare to our lives and others lives such as teachers to test the spirits.
John gives multiple ways to test the spirits to see if they are from God or the Antichrist. Stay alert, and stay alive.
Like Peter, Paul, and others, John has false teachers and their heresies to refute. Gnostics as they were known were teaching that Jesus never actually came in the flesh if He was God and not only that but their confessions obviously didn’t align with their actions. John shoots holes all in this with the opening 10 verses of his epistle.
If there’s anything that should stir the believer and non believers alike it’s this one statement that Peter makes; the Day of the LORD shall come like a thief in the night. And with equal weight he says that we know what type of people we aught to be considering this. Friend, get yourself some marching orders from the Lord Jesus and be about His work.
Peter reminds the believer that just as there were false prophets in the past and the LORD dealt with them accordingly; there will be false teachers and the LORD will take care of them as well. I believe we are living in that time but also that the LORD of all the earth will do right and He knows His own and how to discern between those who are His and those that hate Him. Look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
More great wisdom from the proverbs. Some things that seem to describe our generation in 2020.
Peter encourages us to add to our faith certain things, and gives us multiple reasons for doing so. The prophetic word given by God Himself and peters testimony of having seen the LORD Jesus transfigured before his very eyes.
Peter gives great encouragement to any believer who was and may be facing great persecution for the faith in Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior.
James being (traditionally) Jesus’ half brother and one of the leaders of the early church in Jerusalem, writes a most practical epistle to the Jewish believers.
The last chapter of Hebrews lands us on multiple conclusions in regards to moral and religious direction. Let’s not forget to be hospitable to strangers for they could be angels themselves. Let’s not forget to give honor to our pastors and teachers for they look after our souls.
We can work as hard as we want in any direction but unless the LORD is in it then we labor in vain.
Just on the heal of pointing out so many great examples of faithful characters in the Old Testament, the writer of Hebrews chargers the reader to endure the hardships of this life as a Christian. Plus and primarily pointing to Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith. We often wonder what the point of having such a hard time in this life is meant for; it’s to produce holiness simply. Let us pursue just that and never forget that our God is a consuming fire.
Just as Paul said to Timothy; I am confident that the LORD will finish the good work that He began.
So many examples of how faith was exemplified through characters in our rich past. How they did such great things simply because they believed what God had shown them was truly to come to pass. Let’s walk in their shoes and continue to press through the fight. Jesus IS coming back!
The writer of Hebrews clearly explains how Jesus put an end to the earthly priesthood of Levi and is seated at the right hand of the Father as our heavenly eternal priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. We have no need for another.
Our only hope we have is the One who is seated in heaven YHWH; and the only connection to Him is His Son Jesus.
Jesus, our High Priest, is able to take pity on us because He came in the flesh and felt all the same pain and suffering we do. He knows what we’re dealing with; yes, even you! Is He the anchor for your soul??
Such a wonderful thing to know that we have THE High Priest who knows every type of temptation that we could face. Jesus!
Jesus didn’t do these things for the angels, nor is there any greater one to go to in our time of temptation.
The psalmist describes his situation in a bleak manner; surrounded by lying lips and deceitful tongues. Yet the LORD will repay with arrows of burning charcoal.
The writer of Hebrews uses many references from the Hebrew Scriptures to reinforce the fact that Jesus is the end of the discussion. He’s greater than any other; including the angels.
A letter from Paul to a man named Philemon; it is full of compassion and reflects the heart of the Lord Jesus.
Knowledge is simply having information; and wisdom is knowing how to skillfully use that information.
This psalm is unique in that it has a section for every letter of the alphabet in the Hebrew language. It is also the longest psalm we have recorded in the cannon of scripture.
The end of the hallel describes the chief cornerstone being rejected by the very builders who should have recognized Him as He stood right in front of them. Yet, because of their greed and pride, He became a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling. There’s no greater advocate to have than the Lamb; and no greater enemy to have as well.
This week Pastor Todd leads us through the book of Leviticus on our journey to find Jesus in the Old Testament. A very wonderful picture of what Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross.
In this episode we discuss ADDICTION and the fact that Christian or not; we are still susceptible to becoming dependent on substance. It really comes down to changing our thought patterns.
Paul’s instructions to another young pastor; no doubt great things to consider as we strive to grow in Jesus
Paul is at the end of his life and knows that soon he’ll be executed for his faith in Jesus; yet charges his young son in the faith Timothy to push on. He also speaks of the crown of righteousness that is laid up for him but not only him; for all those also who long to see Jesus come back.
I personally believe that we are living at the end ; where Paul points to in this chapter. I pray that all who come across this podcast will be standing with Jesus and not against Him in His coming.
Just a couple bad choices is all it takes to get yourself into a situation with substances that can ruin your life. Whether or not you are a Christian or not makes no difference. You must develop new thought patterns; Paul tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This can be done and the eternal void that you’re wanting to fill with temporary things can be overflowing with the eternal solution only through Christ Jesus and His Spirit living inside you.
Satan is an inferior enemy of the church and won’t attempt to attack head on. He’s a master of bait and switch or slight of hand. We must have discernment to tell not white from black but white from off white.
Paul uses a couple examples such as a faithful soldier and a hard working farmer to encourage Timothy in his service to the Lord Jesus. Because these are figures who understand that there’s a cost; we too must take this into account. Embrace the suck, stay the fight.
Paul starts out his second epistle to Timothy with some encouragement to stand firm in the faith and not to be ashamed of the gospel. May Jesus strengthen us as well in this very same endeavor.
The psalmist describes what a blessing it is to be numbered among the righteous. Question is, are you standing there?
Once you’ve set your goal, it’s time to embrace the process! Accept the change that must take place. Focus on frequency, and building momentum through routine. Start small, for example; 1/2 mile 3 times a week preferably same time each day. Cut out something that you know hinders your diet while adding something that improves as a replacement. BUILD FROM THERE
Always assume the humble position and allow another to exalt you. Besides, this is what our Lord Jesus Christ did when He came.
Two things to watch for and yet not be feared. And be sure to be about the Lord’s business.
Join Pastor Todd and I as I ask him to elaborate on the many points of the book of Exodus that seem to point directly to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
You can’t get a more clear picture of Jesus in the psalms. And, who are the volunteers??
King David prays for some pretty harsh things to happen to his enemies; but there are some things that we can learn from him as he does. Namely of the attributes of YHWH and His loving kindness.
Paul’s 1st letter to the Thessalonians is full of love and encouragement and even touches the subject of the Day of the LORD.
Just like King David’s only hope to win war was the LORD; also too is our only hope to win our salvation. In Jesus
The same God that did all these great things and even commanded nature came walking on the water and once stood up out of the boat and told the sea to be still. And it obeyed. No doubt the disciples remembered reading of this.
Paul writes his farewell to the church in Collosea while reminding a few to be sure to pursue what God has put in their hearts. What about you?!!
It’s not a matter of telling black from white but off white from white. Put off the old man and on the new man. Let all action be originated from love.
All things whether seen or not were created through Jesus and for Jesus. He is preeminent!
This is a beautiful picture of how God was faithful to His people historically; and will also be faithful to all who call upon His name in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This week Osman touches on the subject of goal setting. And things such as making your goals specific to you, being intentional, and small victories will lead to bigger victories.
Paul tells us to be anxious for nothing but to lay down our concerns at the feet of Jesus and His peace which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds. Where is your hope ?!
Psalm 104 shows us that those of us who truly depend upon YHWH have no worries during any time of uncertainty. Take His great works in creation as an example!
•Gen 1 What role did Jesus play in creation? •Gen 3 What does it mean for Adam and Eve to hear the Word of God walking in the garden? •Gen 3 What is the proto-evangelium? • Gen 14 Was Jesus Melchizedek? • Gen 22 Why would God ask Abraham to sacrifice his own son? • Gen 30 How was God working when Laben switched Lea with Rachel? • Gen 32 Was it Jesus who wrestled with Jacob? • Gen 37 How is Joseph a type and shadow of Christ Jesus? • Gen 49 What does it mean that the scepter shall not depart from Judah?
It doesn’t matter how much good you’ve done to make yourself feel like a righteous person; it’s all considered filth in the eyes of Him who considers our hearts. The only righteousness that matters is found in Christ. Put your faith in that alone.
Our example is Christ who humbled Himself to a greater degree than any other; because there was no higher position to descend from and no lower position to descend to.
David speaks of the great compassion of the LORD which is extended to all who fear Him; and my wonder is whether you’re a partaker of it. You can be!
Join my wife, Kaylie and I as we discuss how it started as a dream and God made it all possible; to the reality of what nursing school has dealt so far.
Salvation is not just for the Jew and we are able to put on the new man because of what Christ has done
When you read the things that king David wrote in the psalms, it’s not hard to see why God considered him a man after His own heart.
Regardless of how evil manifests itself to a person; it’s the same blood that brought us near to God that sends evil running!
A short yet powerfully profound psalm. It reminds us that there is a stark difference between YHWH “LORD”, in our bible and every other “g”OD. Who’s side are you gonna be on when He “Jesus” comes back to rule with a rod of iron??
This LIVING CHRIST ENCOUNTER is unlike any other. Police Officer Nick Vann shares with us his grace saturated tearful journey of life, and NEW BIRTH. Having been raised in church and assumed to be right with God, Nick’s lies and fear of what people would think nearly kept him out of heaven. He putting those things aside, made things TRULY right through Jesus, and began new life. Though, tragedy soon struck his family. Looking back though has proven that without a shadow of a doubt, there was always a plan for it all.
So far beyond our comprehension is the wisdom and knowledge of God! We may not be able to grasp how He chose us to choose Him before the world was created, but it is nonetheless true. Praise be to His Holy name!
There’s many reasons why we should exalt the God of the Bible, YHWH. One of which being He is the only one who carried our iniquities on the cross and offers forgiveness. Come! Let us exalt His name together!
By grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Not by the works of the law/flesh...
One day the Judge of all the earth will come and judge with equity. We all deserve the reckoning of wrath against sin; yet the gospel is the power of God unto salvation.
In Galatians 4 Paul tells us of our new identity in Christ; Sons of God! No matter what type of life you had growing up and the family setting you came from, if you’re in Christ, you’re now an adopted son of God.
Jesus is the one true God, Judge, Savior, and Lord; and will be coming back soon to set things aright.
If there’s anything that describes the theme of this book, it’s the phrase, “faith alone”. Nothing added to what Christ has accomplished on the cross and nothing other than that, period.
Jesus says that the Holy Spirit is He who comes as our Helper; “paraclete”, literally the along side One. And He will lead us into all truth. He is the 3rd party of the Trinity, equally God with the Father and the Son Jesus, and is absolutely vital to our sanctification.
After some thought and prayer I’ve decided to change the name of the podcast to better reflect the content
Being a Christian isn’t about being like another Christian! It’s about being yourself, reflecting Jesus!
Do you ever look around you today and wonder, “hmm, where is our hope? It sure looks like things are getting pretty serious!”.? Well, look no farther than YHWH and His word; particularly psalm 94. And for Jesus sake, don’t get wrapped up in this republican/democrat, red/blue, conservative/liberal agenda that has so many people bound and fooled. Your power to change what is going on and/or endure the future things lies in the God of the Bible and His chosen messiah, Jesus of Nazareth. Not some political leader!
(Episode 1) we speak with Certified Fitness trainer Osman Carroll and dig into some important topics in regards to fitness of the mind, and body. Not to mention the impact of nutrition on the mindset of a human. FOR MORE INFO: CHECK OUT http://www.fitin15.io/
God has given us such an indescribable gift through His Son Jesus Christ; along with that such great grace and liberty to accomplish any and all that is needed of us. Let us not sow sparingly but bountifully
If we can’t approach someone in love with what we have to say; then let us keep our mouth shut until we’re mature enough.
Become like a flourishing palm tree by planting yourself in the courts of the Most High
YHWH is faithful to His own; which sets Him apart from the fallen angels who rebelled against Him
How many times should we forgive our brother? As many times as he repents. Let’s not forget how often we need forgiveness for our blunders
Many have given their lives for preaching the truth. Jeremiah, for now has been spared.
When a person or nation lays claim to the God of the Bible (YHWH), there’s certain expectations that come along with it. Not to mention consequences for not obeying Him.
Today we speak to a dear friend, OC; who takes us on a adventurous journey from Islam, through an alcohol induced car jacking, and ending (so far) with salvation in Jesus Christ and a purpose for life!
We will be a vast variety of folks hand picked by YHWH in this city. Will you be there? Will I see you in Zion? Are you in Jesus?
King David always remembered why he trusted in YHWH; it was His attributes that gave this king great confidence, even when he was poor and needy. Let’s learn from David...
There is more to this life than meets the eye. Fallen angels and extra-canonical books seem to be a taboo topic in American Christianity but we’ve been given the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth. We have no reason to fear
On this episode I speak with a dear friend of mine who recounts his own LCE and explains what life was like before and after. Growth has been slow but full of eternal peace.
If we in America do the same as Israel has done; what makes us think we won’t receive the same righteous judgment
Grace is not a license to sin and we should move swiftly to eradicate it from our lives when revealed
Gonna start giving people an opportunity to share their very own LCE “LIVING CHRIST ENCOUNTER”, but figured that I’d start with me and mine.
Still to this day this psalm is valid and applies. Of course it won’t come to pass till Jesus steps back down upon the Mount of Olives
Whether or not you believe in dreams and visions is beside the point. Comparing our nation to Israel and how God dealt with them should give us a shake from our slumber. This is simply a telling of a dream that I believe God sent me and I pray it does not fall upon deaf ears. In Jesus name...
There’s a difference between those who are His and those who rebel against Him. In light of His unfathomable mercy and grace, I beg you friend to consider who’s side you’re on
There are expectations upon our lives once we’ve made the good profession of faith in Jesus... What are they? Well, until you take this step, you’ll be lost in tha sauce.
Whether you are coming out of hard times, going through hard times, or about to experience the same; there’s only one hope that lasts. Take the example from Asaph in this psalm.
What shall separate the Christian from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord? Nothing; we have a glorious eternal life ahead of us and nothing that can stand in our way. It’s time to start living accordingly.
What is the before and after reality of the person who is “saved”? Let us consider what Paul says.!
Let’s not be discouraged by the terrible wickedness that’s in the nation around us; God will deal with it in His time
Take it from Abraham and David; we cannot earn the righteousness that justifies us before the Holy Creator
God is looking for the circumcised of the heart in the Spirit and not of the flesh only
