For this week's theme titled FAMILY by @edwardstobia I chose to do one of my favourite song which I'm dedicating to a friend's dad who just passed away last month. I spoke with my friend -Peace recently and after a long talk, she told me of how her family looks broken after the death of her father. She told me of how her mum cries every night to sleep after a long day of work, how her younger ones asks her everyday if their father will come back home soon. I listened and couldn't hold back my tears. It made me wonder how life would have been without our family? How we would have carried on without having people to lean on?
I've been lost in thoughts since then and grateful to everyone I call my family. Family is all we have, they stay with us even when it looks like the world is crumbling right at our feet.

Hello family, I'm super excited to be here this week again with a mix of some nice nursery rhymes for kids.
For this week's theme titled MUSIC FOR CHILDREN given by my good friend @aly.squid , I bring to us a mix of my 3 favourite nursery rhymes while growing up.
One sweet fact about these songs is how they drive encouragement, and open us to wide imagination of possibilities. The first song was taught by my Music teacher back in Nursery/primary school. He called it the Encouragement song. I remember how we would sing this song with our hands firmly placed proudly at our backs. Oh, the joy and happiness we felt as though we were actually walking up the mountain side.
The second song is the popular MR. MARK ANTHONY, although we sang it the wrong way while growing up. We remixed it to be MR. MACARONI, I guess we just loved eating macaroni so much that we had to find a song for it😂
Finally, the third song is STANDARD LIVING which was used to teach us about the various professions we have like Doctors, bankers, lawyers and many more.

It's so lovely to be finally back here this week. I've missed everyone here.
For this fantastic week 155 with the theme tagged DNA, one song that came to mind and was relatable is BACK TO MY ROOTS BY LUCKY DUBE. I grew up listening to this song with my father and I have very fond memories of how we would dance around jumping like a rasta man. My Father always told me right from time that good music must always pass a message to the people and this was the culture of the Reggae prophets.
DNA in biology stands for Deoxyribonucleic acid which in simple terms means the molecule that carries the genetic information for the development and functioning of an organism. This in some light refers to the roots which something develops from.
In this song BACK TO MY ROOTS, Lucky Dube talked about how reggae musicians have suddenly forgotten the foundation, concept, and original practice of Reggae songs passed down from their DNA. He talked about how disappointing it is to see the music culture bastardized and asked that we all go back to our roots where it all began.

Hello my amazing music family, for this week's awesome theme titled "My Happiness" I bring to you this evergreen hymn by Alan Jackson titled "Blessed Assurance"
Thinking about this week's theme reminded me so much of how while growing up as a child, we had this Assurance that whatever we wanted will always be provided not minding how it happens. That sure happiness that comes from knowing that someone gat your back and gives you all you ask for and even more.
Then, fast forward to this present day with all that's happening in the world - the ongoing war, hunger strike, inflation and others, we still have not lost our joy and happiness regardless because we have our heavenly Father who always shows up at the right time for us His children.

I'm so happy to be here again with my entry for this week awesome theme titled Infantil which means Childlike.
For this week, I bring to you one of my best songs titled DANCE WITH MY FATHER by LUTHER VANDROSS.
This week's theme CHILDLIKE brought back many childhood memories especially the ones I had with my father. I remember how we would always dance round the house to loud reggae and blues music disturbing everyone. My father gave my brother and I our foundation in music right from a very young age. I remember how we would host singing competitions all in the bid to build our singing voice but now everyone is so busy this day that we hardly have time time each other.
I'd give anything to have those fun moment back again with him. Singing this song reminded me alot of how growing up was fun and how things have changed with time.
I still wonder what changed? I guess it comes with being an adult😫

I've been listening to most entries for this awesome week's theme "Local tradition" and I must say that I love the creativity we put to work.
So, for this week's theme LOCAL TRADITION given by my good friend and musician @nellynohemi. I teamed up with my good friend @allshadeofsimeon to bring back memories.
Every musician especially instrumentalist can relate to how it has become a tradition to mix different songs during rehearsals so as to attain perfect ears and the joy that comes with it.
Personally, I remember how @allshadeofsimeon and I will always mix different songs together when we were still learning how to play the guitar. Those moment when we enjoyed mixing songs and how it has somehow become a passed down tradition.
We decided to mix these two popular songs, hello by Adele and halo by Queen bee herself- Beyonce.

Hello my family / Hola mi familia,
It's so great to be back here this awesome week with my high school buddy @allshadeofsimeon. We decided to have a musical reunion after a long while.
For this amazing week theme "Abrazo musical" which means "musical embrace" in English, given by our amazing spotlight artiste @eugelys who is an awesome singer and guitarist, I decided to team up with my long time high school buddy @allshadeofsimeon during our reunion. My people😍 it's so nice to be back here among friends and loved ones. I was away for a while due to health issues but thank God I am back stronger and better.
So, my birthday was last week Friday, May 6th, and I am so grateful for another year. I had lot of plans but I fell sick and was indoor all day taking treatments.

Bicycle! Bicycle! Bicycle! This week's theme is one of the toughest for me so far but it really helped my creativity. I can say the same goes for everyone here with our awesome entries so far.
For this week's theme given by my good friend @palimanali ,the ukulele master. I sang one of my old nursery school rhymes titled "MR MARK ANTHONY RIDING ON A BICYCLE" with my good friend who I call fine boy rapper @samostically. We decided to refine the rhyme a bit by adding a simple intro verse and also a rap using the main song as the chorus.

For this week's theme "COLORFUL" given by my good friend and music mother @mipiano who is also a good friend to us all, I bring to you this old and lovely song titled "LADY IN RED BY CHRIS DE BURGH".
I have heard other versions of this song, especially that of Eric Donaldson but my heart still beats for Chris De Burgh's version,
This song talks about a particular lady in Red and how she catches the eye of the singer with her colorful red dress. The singer further expresses himself by saying "I have been blind".
This song indeed shows the true power of colors and how different meanings and sparks can be gotten all from using the right shade. Colors are like human tools and with them, we can express ourselves without spoken words.
Habe you went out with a female friend on a date and when you first see her in that colorful gown, you first wonder if that's the same friend you knew all along?😂 I have had such a wonderful experience too and it just goes to show how much colors can change a person's look, how colors can add more meaning and set tones right.

It feels so nice to be back here this new week for another awesome round of listening to my music family here and having my ears filled with good music. In short, I am always blessed every week listening to music from all over the world.
For this week's theme "Automatic Guitar" given by my good friend @alejandrorigo, who is an amazing guitarist, singer and songwriter. This week's theme is centered around promoting peace through music.
I decided to sing this beautiful and popular song "WE ARE THE WORLD BY MICHAEL JACKSON." This song was performed by All-star singers called "USA FOR AFRICA". This beautiful song emphasizes more on the need for peace among us. It describes us as a part of God's big family making it more reason why we must come together as one, in unity and with one voice.
It boldly expresses the truth that LOVE is all we need to save our lives.
I grew up listening to this song and it always serves as a constant reminder to show love no matter what and ensure peace coexists in my society.
For this song, I sang with my acoustic guitar on the key of C before modulating to key D almost at the end part. I also recorded a part of my singing as a backup while adding little harmony to the song.

For this week's theme tagged "SURVIVAL" given by my brother @mayorkeys who is my great friend here in school, and a talented pianist. I love him dearly. He has helped me grow rapidly on this platform too.
For this week, I brought in my good friend @starstrings01 who is a talented guitarist. We decided to sing "SHALLOW BY LADY GAGA AND BRADLEY COOPER".
The word SURVIVAL speaks so much to me. It means choosing to push on in spite of trials, and situations around you.
