Join me as we unravel the complexities of the teenage years and discover practical strategies for fostering a deeper connection with your teen.In today's episode, we'll be exploring a topic that resonates with many mums: figuring out the underlying reasons behind your daughter's persistent grumpiness and anger. Many mums grapple with the challenge of understanding and navigating their daughter's emotional landscape during the often difficult years of adolescence. But before you jump to conclusions and assume her anger is directed solely at you, let me just say that her anger is directed at the situation she finds herself in, not at you though I know it doesn’t always feel like this.Let's peel back the layers and explore the multiple factors contributing to her attitude.Listen in to find out more..
Last week I talked about the nervous system and possibly too much but do you know what? It’s important for us to know this stuff. In this episode, we delve deeper into the misconceptions surrounding teen girl behavior. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not just about hormones. Traditional parenting tactics often exacerbate the situation, leaving both parents and daughters feeling lost and fearful. Too often we’re told that if our teen girls are struggling, it’s their hormones at play and the solution? To control, to micromanage, to give them no choice. This is what traditional parenting strategies are about. Does this help? No, it exacerbates the situation, it makes her a lot more fearful and you, more lost. She is scared beyond belief and resorts to one of three behaviours.Tune in as we explore the root causes and uncover strategies to foster understanding and connection, rather than control.
Join me this week as I dive into negative behavior patterns. Explore the underlying reasons behind them, dispel common misconceptions, and discover actionable strategies to use now in the present moment. Tune in for powerful insights and practical tips to break free from harmful cycles and foster positive change.

In this episode I talk about mental health and what it is, how society, culture and education focus mental health over physical health and how good health isn’t a pipe dream.
In this episode I talk about what’s behind your daughter’s excitement when she suddenly stops talking about it and hides.. What are we as Mums doing that she is reflecting in her behaviour? What negative behaviours are we displaying? By becoming aware of these patterns literally takes the sting out of them and stops any reflection. Who wants to join me in building a community of like minded Mums? Yes please 🙏🏼 Let’s do this together and build better lives for ourselves as Mums AND for our teens daughters..Either say YES 🙌 in the comments, DM me on instagram at teen.whisperer.nature, PM on fb at positive touch 18 or hit reply here to show your interest and I’ll let you know more… Rach x
Following the last episode where I talked about self harm vs self care, in this episode I talk about why they self harm and what we can do as mums to help. I give you easy to use tools that help you now in the moment. You are your teen daughter’s biggest advocate so it makes sense that you know as much as you can to help her. Over the next few weeks listen in as I release details of a new online 6week programme for your teen daughter. If you want to know more connect with me either via instagram at teen.whisperer.nature email on rachel@positivetouch.net or check out my website at www.positivetouch.net though be aware it’s having a revamp.
Self harm is obviously harm against yourself whilst self care is care for yourself. In this episode I talk about the two topics I have discussed recently - self harm and my accident and how it makes me feel. I also talk about feeling worthless and how trying to do it all makes our daughters feel worthless as they aren’t allowed to do anything. We mirror the exact behaviours we don’t like in ourselves. We don’t need to do it all as Mums, as it can result in traumatic incidents that literally stop you in your tracks. Listen in to find out how to turn things around to connect to yourself and her.
So in this episode I tell you why Teen Whisperer has been AWOL and the effect it has had on my teen daughter.
Warning ⚠️- in this episode I talk about my own self harming behaviours as a teen girl and my daughter’s downward spiral during COVID. I talk about how these behaviours keep us safe in a weird way, why they are so addictive and what we can do to break them. If any of this podcast episode has resonated with you either for yourself or you teen daughter and you would like to talk, connect with me via my website at www.positivetouch.net, email at rachel@positivetouch.net or on insta at teen.whisperer.nature Take careRach x
How are you doing? How’s your daughter doing? In this week’s episode I talk about how we as Mums and our daughters are living in our heads due to societal pressure, fear, scaremongering, overwhelm, constant to dos. We are living in survival mode in our heads 24/7 and are disassociating from our bodies meaning that we are resorting to distraction - tech, risk, self harm, changing ourselves. The only way we can change this is to connect to our minds, body & heart so listen in for a short meditation, breath work or mindfulness that grounds you to yourself and what’s happening for you right now. For more information on the moon cycles check out Jennifer Racioppi on the web.. x
Sleep and your Teen - in this week’s episode I talk about why your teen daughter doesn’t get out of bed on time, why she feels so shattered when she does get up and why getting to sleep is easier said than done. I give you the facts plus four ways that you can help. As a Conscious Parenting Coach I help you and her to understand what’s happening every step of the way, the highs and the lows, what’s going on in her brain, her development, her energy cycles and ways that you can both form a better, more connected relationship to yourself and to each other.Contact me for more information or to download my Disconnection to Connection Toolkit…
In this episode I talk about the massive insights and empowering effect that being at Evolve and my conscious parenting coaching course has had on me. I introduce you to new offerings from Positive Touch; a chance to join like minded individuals to share, collaborate and learn that you’re not alone. If you would like to book in a connection call to talk further, the best way is to DM me on instagram at teen.whisperer.nature or via my website is www.positivetouch.net Take care Rach x

Our girls brains are different to boys and physically need to feel connection with their friends so that they can feel good about themselves. Listen in for ideas that as a Mum you can help without fixing the situation or making her feel worse. The tv programme I was talking about is called I am Ruth plus the film Social Dilemma is another good watch.
So this week I introduce the new part of my podcast - my story with my teenage daughter, the highs and the lows - so that you can see you’re not alone. It’s the summer holidays, how are you feeling? Are you feeling upbeat and full of joy or exhausted and running on empty? Too often as Mums especially we are told to keep do, do, doing even when every part of our bodies is shouting STOP and REST but we can’t or won’t allow ourselves permission to. Why is this? Well culture and society play a massive part telling us that to be the best Mum, we need to be on it 24/7 but do you know what? We don’t and this week I am here in your lugholes giving you permission to do just that, to ‘be’ in this moment right now… Take 10 mins just for YOU… Enjoy x
So for the last episode for the next 8 weeks, I am giving you a simple visualisation to use over and over again. Use it when you feel arrgh or when you need a little pick me up. Connect to those feelings and allow yourself to become calm. Breathing in this way allows to be in this moment, at one with yourself. Remember I will still be posting once a week on Connection Day but that’s it, so listen to past episodes and have a wonderful summer. Come and connect with me at www.positivetouch.net rachel@positivetouch.net or instagram teen.whisperer.nature x
This week I talk about how past patterns repeat in our parenting of our teenage daughters and also how they affect us as women to keep believing their worth. If you would like to chat more please contact me on instagram at teen.whisperer.nature plus if you’re interested in digging deeper, I will be looking for case studies in the not so distant future.
So exams are over…most of them, so give yourself a massive hug - you so deserve it. Not only have you supported your teenage daughter, you have also managed yourself. This week I’m taking a different track and talking about how we all have experienced trauma, whether small or large. How understanding where the traumas are coming from and how they affect us, empowers us to connect with our teenage daughters. Be prepared to have your mind blown and empowered…
In this episode I talk how making a plan now for post exams takes away the anxiety and the arrgh for when her grades come through. Pre-empt the confusion and the anger so you both know what the options are and can make a fluid plan.
In this episode I talk about how using simple self help tools helps your daughter (and yourself) during, before and after exam prep. Being conscious of what’s happening for her right how helps her to know that you can see her in this present moment, not in the future and not in the past. By asking her what she needs rather than asking her what you can do for her helps her to know that she is in control.
Last week I talked about you and this week I talk about how nature transforms yours and your daughter’s mental health and wellbeing. It is so important to recognise our cyclical rhythms alongside the natural cycles of the year so you can manage your boundaries and energy. If you would like to learn more connect with me via instagram at teen.whisperer.nature via my website at www.positivetouch.net or email at rachel@positivetouch.net Rach x
So the last few week I’ve been talking about ways to support your teen daughter with her revision and exam prep but this week I am taking about you. I am talking about simple tools that help you to make space for yourself so your teen daughter can mirror the behaviours she needs to support her mental health and wellbeing. If you would like to connect email me at rachel@positivetouch.net, check out my website at www.positivetouch.net or DM me on instagram at teen.whisperer.nature Rach x
This week I talk about celebs who didn’t achieve at GCSEs but have made something of their lives. Not everyone is capable of retaining lots of information - I know I’m not.. and that’s ok.
Just a short one this week from me but one that’s important to listen to. Not everyone learns the same way so sit down and work with your daughter to find out what her learning style is. Then together you can make changes to her revision so she absorbs the information her way.
So last week I talked about revision and this week I am going to build on that topic and talk about how boundaries help us and our daughters to feel safe and secure. Boundaries help them to know what is expected of them and allow them to manage their time. Keep listening for ways to support yourself and your teen daughter… If you like what you hear, I would love to connect with you via instagram at teen.whisperer.nature or via my website at www.positivetouch.net Over the next few weeks I will be releasing details of my NEW community membership for Mums of teen daughters so if you’re interested in finding out more, come and connect. I would love to talk to you, take care Rach x
This week I’m talking all things REVISION. For the next 8 weeks, I’ll be taking over this podcast to give you tools to help you manage the emotions, anxiety and pressure that are connected to exams so let’s buckle this in and enjoy..
It’s Easter 🐣 - a time to enjoy some much needed time off for both of you. You may be on holiday or you may just be needing time out, away from the pressures of life. Being conscious in this moment helps you to manage the stresses of life, rather than looking to the future or looking back at what was.. If like me you are totally knackered, listen to your body for what it needs and only do that. Our teen daughters need us right now in this moment, to mirror those behaviours we want to see in them, it’s the only way they learn. Remember they learn by what they see, so if you are constantly do, do, doing, then that’s what they’ll do too. It’s also pre exam season, so make sure she takes a step back, so you can enjoy your time together and rest. Your daughter will not learn when she is tired, has her period or is ill. Allow her the space to relax and connect with you, to have a relationship based on trust and respect. Balance revision and time out for her and you.
So this week I’m going to talk to you about the difference between traditional parenting and the parenting that I've been talking to you about these last few weeks, which is an amalgamation of conscious and attachment parenting. If you would lie to know more about the Mums retreat I am hosting in June, check out the link www.positivetouch.net/teen-whisperer-retreat
This week I’ll be talking about the 3rd key in the Disconnection to Connection roadmap - Communication - as well as giving her space when she first comes home. I’ll introduce you to indirect questioning as it allows your daughter to open up more as you’re being more specific with what you want to know.
This week I thought I’d talk about all things Mum and showing up full not empty as a Mum to your teenage daughter. So what do I mean? Listen in to find out more…
Did you know that a recent study showed that screen use is as deadly as other addictions? We all know that social media has its good points but did you know why it has such an adverse reaction on our teen daughters? Listen in for these and other simple tools to help you manage screen time in your house.
Following a conversation with one of my clients, about tracking her daughter’s menstrual cycle, it got me thinking… When we know what our cycles are doing, we are better able to manage our energy. Listen in for more information to how being aware makes it far easier to recognise the symptoms and not put extra pressure on her. Easy eh?!
So in today’s episode I talk about the transition from being a child to an adult, and how it doesn’t just happen overnight. On this topic, I talk about the internet and how it is all around us. The internet has so many positives but of course there are a few negatives. Being aware of these negatives can help you as a Mum to support her so listen in…
This week it’s half term in the majority of the UK and hopefully you’re having some time relaxing. I had a Teen Whisperer coaching client this afternoon and she has got me thinking 💭 So as you know I’ve been planning a retreat for the past few weeks.. but what if this retreat over Mother’s Day was a weekend just for YOU as a Mum of a teen daughter? How would you feel about having a weekend away on your own with other Mums who have teen girls? You can be yourself, connect in to what you want and put your needs first ALL weekend… OMG this is huge. In this episode I introduce you to a simple visualisation where you are at the retreat with me and other Mums. So if you want to know more, check out my website at www.positivetouch.net or connect with me - all my details are on my website. Take care Rach x
This week I am full of snot but instead of pushing through and being a human doer, I have taken time out to support my physical health and wellbeing. I also talk about exciting news of the NEW retreat which is on the 17-19 March 2023, the Mothers Day weekend.
Have you ever found yourself reacting massively to a small situation where all reactions were taken way out of context? As young children, we were regularly told to push our thoughts down and ignore them, time and time again but this doesn’t work. Past traumas come back up when you least expect it unconsciously in our parenting. They affect how we react to everything- stress, parenting, how you are with yourself. By tuning in and understanding what’s going on for you helps you in that moment, helps you to turn that switch off so you can become that Mum you dreamt of as a child. Being aware of how it shows up for you is paramount to you turning it around.
This week I’m following on from last week, talking about counterwill and how it shows up for them. Remember those times when your teen daughter goes from 0-100 in 2 milliseconds? This is counterwill showing up as she wants to do things her way, in her own time. If our teen daughters know that we’ll contain them, whatever is going on for them. They need to be curious and excited and not be poo pooed by those in the know, for knowing better than your teen daughter. If we make room for them to find out who they are, then it’s a win win.
Listen in for 5 simple ways to bring your teen daughter back on board. The pre-exam pressures - UCAS, revision, tests for A levels, GCSEs, Functional Skills, Level 1, Level 2 can affect our teen daughters hugely. Are you finding your daughter more defiant right now? Having an insight and understanding to what’s going on for her, really helps you to support your teen daughter.
Societal and cultural expectations regularly tell is that we can’t have that connection and we just have to let our daughters do their thing. What if I was to tell you, you’re not alone. We want to be connected and it is perfectly natural to be in a shared space. Too often we are told that the kick offs, bad behaviour is ‘normal’ and a rite of passage to adulthood. It doesn’t have to be this way…listen in for more information. If you would like to connect with me I’m on Instagram as teen.whisperer.nature, email rachel@positivetouch.net or website www.positivetouch.net or Vox me on Voxer! https://web.voxer.com/u/teenwhisperer x
Welcome to the first episode of 2023 and a new season. I am so excited for where this year will take us. Resolutions are plans we make for things to change outside of ourselves like wanting to lose 4 stone but not how or why and this is why they don’t work. Plus it’s post Christmas, the weather is gloomy and dark and you feel crap. Let’s make intentions together to build your relationship with your teen daughter based on trust and respect. Intentions allow you to be compassionate with yourself and be in the here and now. My intention for this year is to build a community of like minded Mums in the same space. The community membership is a chance to be with other Mums who think the same way as you - to parent imperfectly with more connection so you can thrive in your relationship. Listen in for the visualisation at the end so you can actually experience and see a new way to have the relationship with your teen daughter that you have always dreamed of.
Please excuse the loss of sound during this episode - it was very windy at the top of the fells… You are the continuity in your daughter’s life so if something is going on for you right now, she will feel it whatever you show on the outside… and will mirror your behaviours. Building awareness in to how you feel and the emotions you portray helps her to understand what’s going on for her. YOU are the most important person in your relationship and you can only control and focus on what’s going on for you right now. No matter how much time you spend on your daughter, you cannot control what happens for her. 4 Simple Tools to help you manage the overwhelm for you and your teenage daughter at this time of year.
For the next two weeks I am hosting Christmas specials to ensure that you have the festive season you want without fear or perfectionism
Did you know grief doesn’t have to be connected to death? Does your daughter kick off, have regular meltdowns? Do you feel there is no connection, no warmth, no recognition, no trust, no respect? The number one question I get asked is, where has my loving daughter gone - the one who would cuddle me, the one who would tell me everything? Did you know this a form of grief - a loss of something that has gone before - that connection, that need, that sense of fun? Where has she gone? Listen on for more…and hit subscribe so you get the new episodes every week. I have a new masterclass on Monday 12th December at 1pm, sign up here https://subscribepage.io/ILhDFz
How are you feeling within the behaviours with your teen daughter? I bet you’re feeling crap and useless like it’s all your fault. Sometimes it just feels like your whole world is collapsing around you and you’re left reeling from yet another exchange. Is it me that’s done this to my daughter, maybe it’s something that’s happened in my childhood.. ? We all feel shite from time to time but there is a way out. Speak to someone else who understands how it is for you, who can see it from a zoomed out view, rather than your in the moment view. Taking time out to recognise that your behaviour reflects a need is super powerful. It also helps our teen daughters to see that they don’t have to keep doing it all the time. They can rest, they can admit that they feel pants. We and them don’t have to do it all.
Continuing the topic from last week..about peer orientation and how being with their friends 24/7 affects how their brains 🧠 work and reacts to everyday stress. Listen more as to how peer orientation not only affects your daughter, it also affects how you feel about yourself.
Today I talk about how society/education/culture has us believing that we are not needed in our teen daughters lives, that they ‘should’ get all their support from their friends. As a Mum you still have a place in her life, to be connected to her (despite what her behaviours are showing you) and guiding her. If you like what you hear, keep listening and following over the next few weeks and sign up for the waitlist for a new 12mth community programme that I will be launching 12th December via my website at www.positivetouch.net or via my page on Instagram at teen.whisperer.nature
Talking about community, love and connection and being around other people who are the same boat as you. As women and girls, we are wired to be in connection, we are wired to be in a community setting and if that is taken away from us, we start floundering, we start drowning. So this is what I am going to talk to you about this week..
Ever get those feelings that your teen daughter hates you? Everything you try just doesn’t cut it any more…and you’re feeling lost and alone.. 4 insights into what’s actually happening with your teenage daughter
Taking time out for YOU. So my body had been giving me subtle hints to take a step back and I wasn’t listening. You know the feeling - not having enough energy, not eating properly, not feeling awake - well my body had had enough of me ignoring those hints and it hit me straight between the eyes to STOP. Masking our negative emotions tells our teen daughters to ignore their feelings, making them far bigger and scarier leading to imploding and exploding behaviours. Listen in for how to change this so you can regain your self care and help them to understand their emotions and feelings. Take care Rachel x
MAKING SPACE FOR YOU - is the one of the 4 🔑s to reconnecting with your teen daughter. Making space for your needs and booking it in your diary gives you the headspace to focus on everything else. How I hear you ask? If your daughter sees you looking after yourself and relishing in it, she too can choose to make space for herself. Our teen girls learn by what they see. If she sees you running around like a headless chicken, that’s what she’s going to do. Now do you get it? We’re like a mirror to our daughters so if they see you constantly on the go, they will mirror your behaviours and do the same things. This week make a plan as to what you can do for yourself and stick to it. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t materialise every day, you now have the choice to make space for your needs.
So the workshop that was, didn’t , materialise. This is due to me not having the headspace or energy to do the launch 🚀 process. It’s ok not to feel ok and we need to understand how by keeping going and making it look normal, doesn’t help us at all. We need time to process what’s happening and the only way to do that is to stop and breathe. Feel free to connect with me either on Instagram at teen.whisperer.nature or via my website at www.positivetouch.net/connect Rachel x

This episode talks about the effects that bereavement has on you and your teen daughter. Society tells us that we should push down these emotions and ignore them but all that does, is hide it so it comes out at a later date as another aggressive emotion. To help our daughters we need to allow them space and time to process what’s happening. I talk about simple tools that connect you without conversation, so she knows she is loved, held and heard. If you want to connect with me to discuss what’s going on with your teen daughter, use this link here https://www.positivetouch.net/connect Take care Rachel x
So how did you find last week’s episode about counterwill with your teen daughter? Was it a bit of an eye opener? I can tell you, it was for me and it helped me to understand what was happening for her. Her behaviours are telling you she needs something even though she may not be able to voice it herself. Do you want to know more? Listen in for exciting news as to what is coming in the next few weeks for you as Mums or for your teen girls. Come and check me out at Instagram at teenwhisperer.nature or connect with me at www.positivetouch.net x
Talking push/pull or the official version of counterwill between you and your teen daughter. It’s natural and it’s what they need to go through to get to adulthood. No matter what you do, they have to go through it so if you can go through it together in partnership, it makes it so much better. Think of our teen girl’s behaviours as a toddler tantrum and it becomes so much easier to understand. So if you want to know more connect with me, either via Instagram on teenwhisperer.nature or via my website at www.positivetouch.net x
How does your daughter kicking off make you feel? Do the feelings take you back to a time when you felt lost with a complete lack of control? I know it does for me, it takes me straight back to little me in my teenage years when I suffered sexual violence at the hands of others. Why pushing yourself out of your comfort zone grows your competence and confide in your abilities and growth mindset. If you disrespect yourself and your needs, what will your teen daughter do? You got it 100%…they disrespect themselves. So if you want her to improve her behaviour, improve yours. After all her behaviours are normally a reflection of what you need to improve on in your own life. Please excuse the barking at the beginning of this episode - several motorbikes went past. Being authentic and ME though, I have kept in in otherwise I would fall into that trap of perfectionism. This week I’ll be talking about a GROWTH vs FIXED mindset and how you go from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset? What helps YOU? Putting yourself first is the key 🔑 to you moving into a growth mindset using tiny weeny baby steps. Feeling discombobulated 😕 after the launch of my 4 part series fell flat on its face before its success. I could have taken it to heart ♥️ and made it my problem but I didn’t. Why?! It’s not the right time for you guys and that’s ok, so I have made the decision to run Teen Whisperer on a termly approach alongside the school/college timetable. It will start up again at the beginning of September and will run over the 12 weeks. That’s not to say the podcast won’t be published every week, it will. A snippet of a insight into a teen girls brain 🧠 every week helps you as Mums to know you’re not alone. So looking forward to connecting with you through this space over the next few weeks. Check out my website at www.positivetouch.net for more information as to how I can support you and your teen daughter. Take care Rachel x
Connection is where we put it all together following the last three 🔑 of YOU, UNDERSTANDING and COMMUNICATION. You can’t have connection without working your way through the other 3 key stages. Making time for shared activities means making space for each other; you don’t have to be with each other 24/7. They need to know that whatever they do, you’ll still love ❤️ them. If you like what you hear, sign up for my NEW 4 part workshop series starting this Friday the 8th July at 8pm for the earlybird price of £137.50 instead of £275 just by clicking this link https://www.crowdcast.io/e/teen-whisperer-workshop/register If you’d like to connect before signing up, feel free to email me at rachel@positivetouch.net or via Instagram DM. Looking forward to connecting with you, take care Rachel
Here it is, the episode you’ve been waiting for.. the one on communication. Apologies it’s a day late ⏰ I didn’t feel the bestest yesterday so took some time for myself. I can’t expect you guys to stick to my 4 key stages, if I don’t stick to it myself.
UNDERSTANDING is key 🔑 2 of my brand NEW workshop The Teen Whisperer to reconnect with your teen daughter. Over the last two years I have gone from a relationship where I feared my daughter’s kick offs and treading on eggshells, to one that is full of connection, trust and respect based on me understanding what’s going on for her. Our daughters have so much going for them right now, from their developmental stage to what’s going on in their body, brain, heart and all the pressures, and it’s up to us to be there and support them. If you would like to find out more about my workshop check my Instagram page at teen.whisperer.nature and sign up to my waitlist in the bio. Take care Rachel x
Key 🔑 1 - YOU - putting your needs first ahead of everyone else always. So who puts their needs at the bottom of the pile day in, day out? Yup am guessing there’s lots of hands going up… How many of us think we shouldn’t spend money on ourselves? Yup that’s me too. It’s taken me years of working on myself to get myself out of this funk. It’s hard putting yourself at the bottom of the pile always. Your self esteem, confidence, how you feel about yourself are all affected. Being aware of our matriarchal lineage helps us to realise that what we believe to be true, isn’t always the case. So in my case my Mum always put her needs at the bottom of the pile, never spending money on herself. Yup strangely enough that’s me too!!
Talking the NEW Teen Whisperer 4 part workshop launching at the end of this month. It’s about building a relationship with your teen daughter based on trust and respect not anger and frustration. It’s about learning why she she reacts as she does and it’s not just her ‘hormones’. Check out the waitlist on Instagram at teen.whisperer.nature or connect with me at www.positivetouch.net or find out about the private fb group of the same name 😉
Brand NEW workshop with the same name, coming soon!! This is my story highlighting the tools 🧰 that I use to connect to my teen daughter and build our relationship. Knowing why she is behaving as she is, is paramount to changing things around. This new workshop will be 50% off the normal price of £275. If you would like to connect with me, check me out on Instagram at teen.whisperer.nature or on my updated website at www.positivetouch.net
Our teen daughters give out so much 💩 when they’re struggling but did you know that there is a need behind these behaviours? It’s not them per se, it’s that they need to be seen, listened to and understood. If you like what you hear and want to find out more, join my waitlist for a brand spanking NEW workshop with the same title as the podcast…sign up here subscribepage.io/ILhDFz Take care Rachel x
Welcome to this podcast with a brand new name - the Teen Whisperer - originally named Stop Juggling, Start Living. It’s a safe space for Mums of teen girls to feel heard and supported whatever is going on in their lives.
A podcast for Mums of teen girls so we can build a community of like minded Mums in a safe space where you feel heard and supported, whatever you are going through right now.
So this podcast was initially set up to teach parent carers how simple self help tools regain their time BUT unless you recognise yourself as one, you won’t recognise that this podcast is for you. So…a name change is needed from Stop Juggling Start Living to Teen Whisperer to give all Mums of teen girls a chance to reconnect with themselves and their daughters. Listen to find out more x

How are you doing this week? How’s your child managing right now?
Do you ever feel isolated or on your own as a parent carer? Do you ever feel like no one understands what you are going through? Listen in to find out more about how we can help each other. If you want to connect with me, feel free to email me at rachel@positivetouch.net
When our children are struggling it affects us too and that’s ok. We absorb their energy and the normal re-action is to try to ‘fix’ them. What’s important is that it’s ok to feel 💩 and it’s totally natural. By making space for ourselves we can free up vital headspace and energy to do all those other jobs.
Why connecting with and guiding our children is paramount to working with them. It gives them back control and be in charge of what’s happening for them. Apologies for the background noise
Self care isn’t selfish and shouldn’t take up too much time or money. If it does and it’s stressing you out, it’s not right for you. Even the smallest of activities helps to build resilience and lower stress levels giving you back quality time and space to focus on other things.
Why simple self help tools helps to feed your soul so you can focus on everything else around you. If you would like to connect with me please email at rachel@positivetouch.net or meet me on the gram at positivetouch.naturally
So how have you done this month of the new year? Have you been able to make a little more space for yourself and if you haven’t, don’t worry. Don’t have a go at yourself, don’t feel worthless, it’s life as we know it.
This is an emotive episode telling you why I am passionate about working with teen girls and inspiring them to believe in their own self worth and who they are, so they can NO when they need to.
It's ok to feel poo 💩and not feel like you can do it all, we're not supposed to. It's society that makes us feel hopeless and worthless because we get told we can do it all and succeed. So if we don't manage it (which we won't) we feel a failure - I'm here to categorically say you're not.
I know there wasn’t a podcast on Wednesday and actually that’s ok. I didn’t belittle myself and I didn’t put myself down. Found out why I didn’t and how I did it…
So it’s nearly Christmas and how are you doing? Are you staying sane or is overwhelm and perfectionism beginning to bubble?
How our teen girls behaviour is a mirror of what’s going on inside as a reaction to stress…
Why having a teen with chronic ill health doesn’t mean putting your needs at the bottom of the pile. Processing pent up frustrations using self help tools puts you first every time. Be creative and make it simple.
How working with our teens is similar to dog training. Now before you ask what the hell? Bear with and listen in….
Why waiting for change on the outside doesn’t help us put ourselves first, only we can make that decision …
How are you doing this week? How was last week - half term? Doing things for ourselves can be as little as 5-10 mins and that still works.
Talking anger and aggression in our teens, what it all means and it’s not what society thinks. Our teens are communicating with us, maybe not in the best way but they’re asking for help.
3 simple and actionable ways to gift yourself some time and space in your busy life. Don’t delay, do it today.
To all parent carers out there, even when you’re feeling shite as I am today, take time for yourself every day.
