Hi Sweet Friend,
Today is the last episode of the Temple Care Podcast. While my heart is a little sad, I know God does have new things in store for my ministry. Today I want to share with you how He helped me make the decision, and how sometimes endings are necessary.
It has been such a joy for me to share these past three years with you! Each message has been very dear to my heart, and the support you've given me has meant the world. Now onto whatever God has next :)

So much love to you sweet friend!
Hi friends!
Today I am tackling two tough stories in the Bible and how they relate to our mental health: Peter's betrayal of Jesus and the ultimate betrayal of Judas.
Trigger warning - this episode does cover some heavy topics that are not suitable for young listeners. We will be talking about death and suicide.
I hope that seeing the difference between these two stories will help give you clarity to the power of restoration that Jesus so freely gives.
I love you dear friends!
Erika
Let's unpack the scene with Jesus in the Garden. What can we draw from this and learn from His character? How did He face the excruciating moment of His impending death on the cross?
I love this passage in particular because it shows us Jesus' humanity. He is fully God and fully man. He experienced every human emotion and therefore knows all of our emotions as well.

Today we are covering the epic story of Mary Magdalene. From her deliverance of seven demons, to her loyal heart and reckless worship of Jesus, Mary has quite the story to tell.
Let's focus in on three major points from her story:
At the moment she met Jesus, Mary was healed instantaneously
Mary had a deep, abiding love for Jesus and she showed it in action, not just with words
Mary was loyal to Jesus until the very end
Praying you are blessed and encouraged by Mary's story and to remember that Jesus loves to use the outcasts to bring Him glory!!
Every year as the seasons change I reevaluate with the Lord and ask - what do you want to teach me? How can I listen more deeply to your voice?
This summer He is calling me to delight - to let Him lavish love and goodness over me. He cares about me and wants to delight in me!
I'm also realizing that God wants me to be faithful in the little things and the big things...but most of life is spent tending to the little things. And in that, He watches to see how I am walking out my faith.
What has God called you to be faithful in? Where is He asking you to go deeper?
This week I’m joined by my dear friend, Gaby, to talk about Elijah!
His story is something we can all relate to…in a moment of pure exhaustion he raised his hands to heaven and said, “It is enough, Lord!”
In this series on mental health and the Bible, Elijah’s moment with the Lord serves as a good model for us as we face seasons of depression and wanting to give up. What was the Lord’s answer to Elijah and how did He tenderly meet his needs?
Join us as we unpack the meaning behind this Elijah moment and how we can press on in our faith through seasons of doubt, sadness, exhaustion and overwhelm.
Hi friend,
Today I'm sharing how God has been working on my heart through this verse:
“Don’t despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…”
Zechariah 4:10
And how even the small, mundane things we do are actually very important to God and a tool He uses to build and forge our character.
In my life I struggle to stay focused on the small things, (my mind is typically in the clouds!)...so God has used a few key verses to bring me back down to earth and remind me of just how important this season is.
I hope this message encourages you as you are in tough seasons or relationships or feeling like things can be so meaningless at times...God always has a purpose behind it.
Sending love to you sweet friend!
Today we are covering John the Baptist and the moment where he questioned and asked Jesus, "Are you really the Messiah?"
There is so much to unpack here, but here are a few points we are covering today:
Why did John ask this question? Didn't he already know who Jesus was?
The direct and compassionate response Jesus gave
How we can expect Jesus to respond as we face our own crisis of faith
What it means to truly bring our doubts before Jesus
Today we are tackling the story of Mary and Martha! Before you think this episode might be a guilt-trip, tune in and listen to what God has laid on my heart about the way He has uniquely made each of us.
Today we will cover:
God's love for both Mary AND Martha
How God can use the Martha types in His church
What to do if you struggle with being a "doer" and not having quiet time
The specific set of words here that correlate to our current-day word "anxiety"
Hi friend! We are kicking off a series on "What the Bible Says About Mental Health" and I am super excited to journey through these stories with you and dig into God's Word on this topic.
Today I want to share with you a few points of what the Bible actually says about mental health. Take these three truths with you as you face your own battles this week:
God loves to reason with you.
Emotions are a gift from God.
God wants to restore you.
I am praying that this series will encourage your heart and help you relate more deeply to the Bible characters we discuss!
If you want to send me a person/story you want covered, please send me a message through my Instagram account: @erikaruthpizzo
Hi friend,
As I'm working through writing a new book on spiritual warfare, I am processing with the Lord what it looked like for Him when He faced great temptation by the enemy in the wilderness.
We see that He was tempted through the use of scripture, so it made me wonder...does the enemy do the same thing to us?
God has been revealing so much to me, and I want to share with you some of the ways that I have been tempted to despair because of the enemy's lies.
The truth is, the closer you get to Christ, the harder the attacks start to come. But there is great hope in the midst of these attacks, because we become more and more attune to the Shepherd's voice.
Praying for you as you face your own attacks this week and different trials and temptations. You are more equipped than you even know!
Hi friend,
As a believer, stepping into Holy Week carries a certain amount of weight doesn't it? We want to experience what Jesus experienced, feel what He felt, and give reverence to the awesome act of dying on the cross for our sins.
Let me encourage you today with these 3 truths to meditate on this week:
Our relationship with Jesus is the most important relationship and the most eternal relationship
Jesus just wants to spend time with you
It's OK to bare your feelings before God and before close friends - that's what Jesus did!
Praying for you as you head into this Easter week, that it would be a time of great reflection with your Savior in the quiet moments of listening to His heart for you.
Hi friend!
Today I'm sharing some thoughts on what to do when you feel really attacked by the enemy. Sometimes life just feels hard, and I want you to know that God loves you right where you are. Be encouraged today that even though God is building you up to be a mighty warrior, it's ok if you don't feel like a "warrior" right now :) He loves you anyway!
Today I am joined by two very special guests - licensed marriage and family therapists Matt and Leah Heim.
Join us as we cover these important topics:
What are attachment styles and how do they affect my parenting?
How can I be a better parent and trust God in the process?
Will my child need therapy one day?
Removing the pressure from needing to do and be everything for our kids, and letting others pour into them
Matt and Leah have started a nonprofit called The Open Table where they minister to others by promoting and facilitating hoisting and lasting change for individuals, couples, families and communities.
Today, Matt shares about his dissertation on Attachment styles and if you are a parent of kids age 5+ he invites you to participate in this brief survey:

It was a joy and privilege to have Matt and Leah on the podcast and to hear their wisdom! Share with any parent who needs just a little extra encouragement to keep going and keep seeking the Lord.
I'm so excited today to do something a little different and dive into my creative process behind writing books!
If you've ever wanted to write a book before, or have felt led to share your story, I am praying my words encourage you to press into that God-given gift and let Him do the writing and leading!
He is a good Father who gives us such wonderful creative gifts.
Today we'll talk about:
How I go about deciding what to write about, the chapter titles, the content, etc.
Asking for feedback during the writing process
Praying for wisdom from the Holy Spirit as I write
Going back and editing/re-writing things
Making time to write when life feels so busy

Hi friend,
I am sharing a poem today from my book "Quieted by His Love". I hope today's message encourages you to bask in God's love for you, to let His love wash over you this coming week, and to slow down and be still in His presence.

This week I'm sharing my thoughts on Craig Groeschel's book "Power to Change" and how it has impacted me in the area of faithfulness. What does God ask of us when it comes to the hidden areas of our lives that no one sees?
He keeps convicting me over and over again to pursue faithfulness in these little things, to not neglect those small steps of growth. It's in these little things, over time, that we see big changes. And so instead of just praying big prayers with no action behind them, I am working towards faithfulness that will produce big changes in the long run.
I hope today encourages you sweet friend as you pursue faithfulness in the little things God has put right in front of you.
As we head into the New Year I wanted to give you a word of hope and joy that will encourage your heart. Jesus has been challenging me this past year with throwing away old thought patterns and embracing a confident hope in the reality of His goodness. Let my words and prayers today encourage you to walk into this year with an extra dose of joy, ready to conquer any mountain you might face.
Verses Mentioned:
Philippians 1:20-21
"I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."

Do you ever feel like you're not "fighting the good fight"? Maybe your heart feels tired, your thoughts are wandering, and you don't feel like you are enough or that you do enough for Christ.
Today I want to encourage you and share with you what God has been revealing to me about that fighter mentality.
What does it take to be a good warrior? It's probably not what you expect!

Hi friend!
Today I want to share with you a new book I'm reading that has taught me so much about the spiritual battle going on in our minds. God is revealing a lot to me through this book and I believe He has something here for you too. His heart is to make things clear for us, to help us win the war on our minds, and to live in the peace that He so freely gives. Let's dive in together!
Today I want to share with you one of my all time favorite quotes that I actually included in my recent book, as well as some of my thoughts on what it means to go deeper with God.
I don't know about you but I am not content having a surface-level relationship with Jesus, and I am always wanting to go deeper with Him. In the last six years of my life I saw major growth in this area, and I want to share with you what I think it takes to develop intimacy with the Creator.
I haven't arrived yet, and neither have you, but the closer we grow to Jesus the easier it is to let the things of this life go and to embrace the eternal. I pray my words encourage you today to open up to God and let Him in like you never have before.

This week I've been in the process of writing a new resource that helps people fight anxiety by praying the armor of God. Today I want to share some of the things I wrote in there to help you with whatever battle you face. Maybe it's not anxiety, but each of us do face our own personal battles and God has so much for us in this area. He wants us to fight this battle well, and come out even stronger on the other side!!

He is doing a new thing (Isaiah 43) and it is up to us to look up and see the goodness He is working on in our lives.

What I've found is that most of life is spent in the waiting. We wait on God as He does His work in our lives, and a lot of times, that looks like prayers unanswered. Moments of pouring our hearts out to Him and sitting in the silence. But how do we wait well? How do we wait with expectant hope?
Today I want to share with you one of my favorite devotions from "Quieted by His Love" called Trust in the Waiting. My prayer is that it encourages you to wait well, to wait with hope and confidence, and to wait with gratitude that this is the time where you grow even closer to your Savior.

This week's podcast is all about the ways that God renews our strength daily in His loving provision and care.
Let me encourage you that He is always working out the good in your life and He promises to show up in each and every detail. I've been noticing a theme lately - of eagles!
God keeps bringing up these beautiful verses where He talks about our strength being renewed like "the eagles" and I believe He is doing that in your life as well.
Be encouraged today my friend, God is always up to something in your life!
Sometimes we are tempted to look back on the "good old days" and wish for a more simple time. I know I have felt that way over and over again as I face health challenges.
But this week I want to share with you a life-changing moment I had with God where I sat with Him and talked about going back. What He revealed to me surprised me, and also greatly encouraged my heart.
I pray that today's podcast will encourage you to stop looking back, and to fix your eyes on Jesus, as He shows you the great growth He has ahead.

Today we are diving into the concept of affirmations - is it ok to say these things out loud as a Christian? What does God think of this? How does it stack up to what we see in His word? All these questions and more are answered as we share our thoughts on declaring God's love over our lives each and every day.
Follow Elizabeth on Instagram - @hereandnowconsulting
Examples of Affirmations/Declarations of God's Love:
My body is the Lord's temple. I am healthy and strong.
I praise you God for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
I love my body and I am so happy and grateful I am taking the steps to be at my ideal weight. Lord, teach me how to be content in the process.
I wake up early, drink lots of water and give my day to the Lord by praising Him and reading His word.
I eat the right amount of food for my body. I never starve myself and I never binge.
I do not hold everyone else's emotions inside me. I release that to God and let Him build a fortress around my heart.
I am a great parent, wife, and daughter of the King. I walk by the Spirit, not by the flesh.
I am healing, I am getting stronger.
Happy Easter weekend my friends! I wanted to share with you some thoughts on Moses and Aaron.
Aaron was a true friend who cared deeply for Moses, championed him and held him up when his arms were tired.
I hope this message encourages you to seek out friends like this, and to remember God is your ultimate friend in times of need.
Today let's look at the all important "pause" we see throughout the bible. God calls us to pause and talk to Him before major life events, decisions, and even everyday emotional occurances. I pray this episode encourages you to press pause, pray, and talk to God at any time and at any moment.

Do you struggle with having conflict in your life? Do you shy away from necessary conversations because you can't bring yourself to speak out? I know how you feel friend, I've been there many times. God is pressing upon my heart the idea of using conflict as a tool to strengthen the relationship. God is with us in those moments and He never leaves us to do it alone. I pray that today's message encourages you to step forward in faith as you have those conflicts.
Verses Mentioned:
1 Peter 4:8
"Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins."
Ephesians 4:29
"Let no corrupt talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."
Questions to ask before going into a conflict:
What is the most loving thing I can do in this situation? Speak up or look past the offense?
What pain or damage is their behavior causing, and can my words shed light on this?
Am I people-pleasing, or peace-making?
Will I care about this tomorrow, in a few days or years to come? Is this a hill I want to die on?
Is God calling me to speak up about this and let this person know the hurt they are causing me and others?
This week on the podcast my friend Emily and I are discussing the 40 day sugar fast and how it greatly impacted our personal walks with the Lord. We share about the pitfalls of perfectionism, meeting God and hearing His voice, identifying strongholds in our life, and even breaking the addictive nature of sugar. Be encouraged that even if you struggle in this way, God has great things ahead for you!!
Wendy's book: 40 Day Sugar Fast
As a society that is collectively afraid of "silence" we fill our days with undending noise - music, podcasts, shows, Netlfix, etc. We are constantly looking for the next thing to fill our quiet space. But what if we actually took the time to examine what inputs we are receiving? What if we sat with God and asked, "are these things ok to be putting into my soul?" Today I want to encourage you that the more you get honest with God, the more you are opening yourself up to receiving His peace. Our souls are moldable, we have to be careful what is coming in. Let's be mindful today and going forward and also be encouraged that God has something even better for us ahead.

This time of year the days are dark and the weather keeps us inside and you might be feeling a little stir-crazy! I know I am.
But I hope that today’s words reminded you that this too shall pass. There’s a season for everything. Warmer months will come. But in the meantime, find your community and reach out to them, don’t idolize busyness but make room for rest and caring for your needs and last but not least - have fun! Laugh and play and do something that sets your soul on fire.
God is with you even in the darker months, and maybe, He is even up to something great in your life.

Hi sweet friend! Today I want to share a fun story of my experience meeting a pilot and how he had such compassion on my fear of flying! The truth is, we are all afraid of something. And a lot of us live with irrational fears. But God promises us in His word that He will deliver us from all of our fears, and while fears may come and go, we can cling to God's faithfulness in the process and learn how to be a better friend to those who struggle with anxiety over irrational things. I hope this episode blesses you and encourages you to press on in faith and trust that God is working in your heart.

This week I stumbled upon a note I had written in my phone that was a cry for help from a lonely mama who felt very lost - and that mama was me!
I struggled in those early days of my kids being little to care for my basic needs and to see the bigger picture. I often felt like I didn't know who I was or what I was doing!
But today I want to reflect on the ways that God was pursuing me in that season - and how He continues to pursue you in your "lost" seasons.
He is always working in our lives, and we are never truly lost. Let today's episode be an encouragement to your heart to see that no matter where you are or how lost you feel, God is there.

This week I felt God's gentle nudge to talk about the ways I pray through depression and how you can develop a battle plan for the spiritual attack on your mind. Let's talk about what happened in the wildnerness when Satan tempted Jesus and how we can take away our own plan to fight against the darkness we encounter.
Verses Mentioned:
Ephesians 4:12
"We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."
Luke 4:1-13
Story of Jesus being tempted in the wildnerness
Exodus 14:14
"The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still."
Romans 8:26
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."
Prayer for Depression:
Oh Precious Jesus,
You are the lover of my soul, and my soul is downcast. I am walking through a valley right now that seems too deep for me to climb out of.
Not only that, but my strength has given out. My legs are heavy, my heart is heavy, I can’t seem to walk any longer. The pain in my chest is strong. How long will you leave me in this place? How long do I have to suffer through these circumstances, these relationships, these hardships?
Lord when my chest feels heavy and I can’t see any way out - please be my Way.
Please open a door for me to worship you. Turn my heart to praise. Remind me of all the times you have brought me through earth-shaking storms and I came out on the other side stronger.
I believe in your power to do that. Oh but Lord, help my unbelief. Help the corners of my heart that question and doubt. Don’t let me go so far down to the depths that I stay there. Don’t let the Enemy hurt me while I’m down.
Jesus, I pray for a mighty fortress around my heart. Satan has no place here, he has no business messing with my heart or my mind. I pray in the authority of your name that he would leave now.
Strengthen me. Establish me. Plant my feet on solid ground. Rise me up past these feelings. I know the power of your name can do that. It’s ok for me to feel, but I don’t want to stay here. I know you have more for me.
I speak the name of Jesus over this depression Lord. I speak Jesus over all my circumstances and all my relationships. I speak your holy and might name to break any strongholds the enemy has tried to take.
Jesus, you are my Deliverer. Hold me up with your victorious right hand and lead me into the battle. As you fight for me, I need only to be still.
In your name,
Amen

God has been so good to teach me and grow me and give me victory in this area, and I want to see victory for you too sweet friend! So join me as I share what emotional eating does to us, how it impacts our walk with God, and ways that we can overcome and grow closer to Him in the process.
Hi friend! We are heading into the summer season and I wanted to share a few thoughts with you on how we can grow our faith, draw near to Jesus, and experience all that He has for us in this time. If we want to slow down and listen to what God has for us, we might need to take some things off of our plate. The more we make space for Him, the more we hear His sweet callling over our lives.
Today I wanted to share with you my heart on how I've processed the news of this week. Our country is reeling from the shock of a mass shooting and as a believers, we are not left on our own to process and care for our mental health in the midst of it. Join me as I share 3 different ways to bring Jesus into our processing and our internal emotional struggle.
What do we do if we feel that God is closing a door or asking us to wait on something we've prayed for? How can we wait well and maybe even learn and grow in the season of waiting?
Today I want to encourage you with the truth that even when God says "no" or "not yet" - something redemptive is around the corner.
And even as we wait, we can offer our deepest desires back to Him and let Him transform what we once held to be so important.
Verses Mentioned:
Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Luke 18:1-8
And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. 2 He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. 3 And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ 4 For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” 6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. 7 And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

This week I was reminded of Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 12:9 "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
And I thought about all the ways I've wanted to escape my weaknesses and hide them from others. But God has shown me that He likes to use us right where we are...flaws and all.
Let Him begin to use you and your unique weaknesses to reach others who feel the exact same way. Let His love for you cover what you are struggling with today. Join me as we talk through all of these hard things and cling to the promise of God that His power is made perfect in our weakness.

Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Psalm 91:1-16
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and a buckler."
Prayer of Protection:
Precious Father,
I pray that as I go into this conversation you would put a fortress around my heart.
Protect my emotions and stop me from going too deep into the emotions of others. Help me to remember that their story is not my story, and that you are carrying their burden, not me. Lord, I give it to you.
Help me to remember that whatever they are feeling, I don’t have to take that on. Help me to separate my emotions from theirs. Protect my heart. Remind me I am secure in you. I don’t have to ride this emotional wave.
You have promised me that if I walk with you that your yoke is easy and your burden is light.
Give me the eyes of Jesus to see them with compassion, but a heart of strength to not take their emotions on myself.
I give it all to you, what they are feeling. Help me to be a good friend to them and see them like you see them.
Amen.

Do you ever have a wave of emotions come over you with no idea why? Something has triggered you and you are operating in place of anger, uncertainty and frustration. You might even feel like you are living from a place of burnout. Let's explore together how we can identify this, cast our cares on Jesus, and come to a place of healing.
I can't believe we are already on our last day of the Temple Care 101 series! Today we will discuss caring for our spirit and some practical ways to infuse God's word and God's life into us as we go about our week.
Today I am joined by my dear friend Lily, a sweet sister in Christ who shares so much wisdom. We talk about how God has lead us to pursue friendships, what it means to be a good friend, the Holy Spirit's role, and much more!
Join me today as I share some important truths about caring for the most important part of us - our spirit. God cares so deeply about this part of you. He desires a relationship with you and He looks to meet your needs through His love. Let's learn and grow together as we explore how we can care for our spirit.
One of the most important ways to care for our physical bodies is through exercise. While we often have little time to give and a thousand demands on our plate, finding the time to exercise can be an important part of pursuing health physically and spiritually. Our relationship with God deepens as we appreciate this body He has given us. Join me today as I share some of the ways I incorporate exercise into my everyday life and bring Jesus into the process.
Today on the podcast we talk about what it actually means to care for our bodies. Our physical health comes down to two main areas - eating and exercise. Does God even really care about our eating? Have we made eating a way to fuel our bodies or abuse our bodies? These questions and more are covered as we look at what God longs to see in our physical lives.
Today let's continue the discussion of taking care of our mental health and what that looks like practically in our lives. As we are mindful of what comes in, we can also notice what thoughts we hold as truth. The good news is that there are so many helpful verses on this topic and we can always rely on God's word to point us in the right direction! At the end I share some of my favorite ways to care for my mental health and how I involve God in the process.
Welcome to the mini series Temple Care 101! Let's talk about how we care for our temples, these sacred bodies God has given us in three very important ways: our mind, body and spirit. Today let's tackle the mind. How do we care for our mental health? What does God have to say about this? Today I share with you one of my favorite verses that has helped my mental health immensly!
Believe it or not, God is up to something in your life. As New Years approaches, we are tempted to look inward at all the changes that need to be made. This year, let's do something different - let's look at God's faithfulness, the ways He showed up for us, and let's look forward to this new chapter He is planning. It's going to be a great one!
God is not a God of coincidence, He has a mission for you this Christmas. Whether you realize it or not, He has specifically placed you in situations to bring Him glory and to be a light to others around you. Today I talk about what it looks like to be intentional with our family get-togethers and praying for wisdom as we sit next to those who are broken, hurting, or simply in need of a listening ear.
What do we do when we are faced with anxiety? So many times when our hearts are filled with fear and doubt we don't know which way to turn. But God is so faithful in bringing us back to Him and asking us to invite Him into our hurts and search our hearts. Today I want to share with you some things I've learned through my journey with anxiety and how we can actually use this feeling as a tool to figure out what is going on in our hearts.
Do you ever hear the way you talk to yourself? It could be a subtle slight or a critical comment someone said to you once, but over time you have started to believe a lie. And not just any lie - one crafted by the Enemy. Today let's work to silence those lies by equipping ourselves with the truth of God's word and what He says about us.
This past week my entire family came down with a stomach bug...it was pandemonium! But I couldn't help but notice God's great care for me amidst it all. It's important that we take the time to notice His care for us even in the hardest of trials.

I think sometimes we all take ourselves way too seriously. God is the Creator of fun, and in today's episode I want to walk you through some ways He has been teaching me how to let go, embrace the crazy, and have some fun!
This week I was left speechless after an encounter with a girl who told me her testimony. It made me think about how God is in the process of writing each of our stories. His plans are big. Let these words encourage you as you think about the parts of your past that carry shame and heartache. God is up to something and He is not done with you yet!
Over the past few years God has been working overtime on my heart in the area of emotional eating. Time and time again I’ve been prompted to pick up books on the topic and let me tell you, nothing challenged me quite like this 40 day sugar fast! Today I want to share with you some of the things I learned and how God so clearly met me in the process.
What shame are you carrying with you today friend? Shame can come in all shapes and sizes. It robs us of our joy and forgiveness in Christ and convinces us that we are stuck in the hurt of our past. Let me encourage you today through biblical stories and words of truth that you are indeed forgiven, and God is creating a bigger story than what you could have imagined for yourself.
Many of us are facing a season of change right now. As we navigate living through a pandemic, schools and jobs and everything that once felt safe has changed. Today I go through a few important points to remember during seasons of change and how you can cling to Christ as He walks you through this. He is a great and loving Father, we can trust Him even when change feels scary.
It can be difficult to share with others our struggles and how we are currently facing anxiety, depression or whatever valley we find ourselves in. Today we will talk about why this is important, how it impacts others in our lives, and how we can look to Jesus as our ultimate example of community in the midst of grief.
Today we will talk all about exercise! What drives us to exercise? Do we dread it as a form of punishment, or is there another way? What role does God play in our exercise? Let's talk through these important things and more as we dive into the second episode of the Temple Care Podcast.
