Rasha and Carter talk to Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe about their now Oscar-winning short film Two Distant Strangers. The short is a powerful dramatic take on police violence in the US, putting its main character in an endlessly repeating day where he is shot, again and again, by a white cop, no matter what he does. From how they got the script done in record time to filming in time of a pandemic and dealing with such a painful topic, Travon and Martin spoil us with a wealth of insight into their filmmaking process.

In this 13min doc exec-produced by none other than Ava DuVernay, Kris, a virtuoso jazz pianist and film composer tracks his family's lineage through his 91-year-old grandfather from Jim Crow Florida to the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Genius Loci is Latin for 'protective spirit of a place'. In his Oscar nominated short film, Adrien takes us on a journey where the outer landcape collides with the character's inner world. When fine art meets animation, you get a film like Genius Loci, and Rasha and Carter have the best seats in the house to talk to Adrien about how he created this beautiful piece of visual poetry.
Skye Fitzgerald speaks to Rasha and Carter about his Oscar nominated documentary Hunger Ward, his third film in The Humanitarian Trilogy. Hunger Ward takes the viewer to Yemen where starvation is used as a weapon of war. It documents the famine currently taking place and its impact on children, families, and health care workers. Skye opens up about filming in a conflict zone, and about the cinematographic techniques he used.

Told from within the heart of the Hong Kong protests, 'Do Not Split' begins in 2019 as a proposed bill allowing the Chinese government to extradite criminal suspects to mainland China escalated protests throughout Hong Kong. Unfolding across a year, “Do Not Split” captures the determination and sacrifices of the protesters, the government’s backlash, and the passage of the new Beijing-backed national security law.
