Below is the product description for our first ESEE folder. It has been a long process and we talk about some of the design aspects, inspiration, and challenges for this and several other projects. (Izula Folder, CR3.0, AGK 3D/S35) and why the Pinhoti got moved to the front of the line.

ESEE Knives Pinhoti Friction Folder
Designed by ESEE Knives staff member Shane Adams, the Pinhoti friction folder is made for everyday use and is equally at home around the campfire. Features include a scandi ground 1095 carbon steel blade mated to a sculptured brown micarta body with a brass pivot. While closed the 90° spine can be used to strike a ferro rod or scrape tender. The leather taco style sheath provides safe and secure carry and works with multitools and many pistol magazines as well. The PinhotiÔ pays homage to the venerable friction folders of the past with updated materials and an ergonomic design that is sure to become a working heirloom for generations to come. Made in the U.S.A and backed by our famous Lifetime Warranty.

Want to challenge yourself? This is your class. While Jackson and Parker have had a bit of an “insider’s view” to this class they don’t really have a clue as to exactly what to expect. They talk about their physical and mental preparation as well as the gear they plan to attend.
This was recorded at our home in Dalton GA…. Our guard dog, Izzy, played a minor role by growling at the neighbor’s cat and walking through the kitchen.

Summary:I first met Scott Cretul in out very first WFR (Wilderness First Responder) Class at Randall’s Adventure & Training. Since then, I’ve come to know him and call him a friend. He and his brother Brian have a powerful story about the redemptive power of spending time outside, accountability, family, and knife making. I coerced Scott and Brian to be on our podcast simply because I love their story and bond and have been inspired by Scott's journey. Since we first met he's become an outstanding knife maker, gotten married, and continues to develop his skills.
While we are on the topic of knife making and small worlds, these guys happen to befriend expert knife maker and quite possibly one of the humblest guys I know, Russell Reece. Russell is the man behind Cohutta Knives and he is a phenomenal maker and just salt of the Earth. I had to twist his arm to come on and am grateful he did.
