Navigating mental health, self advocacy and mindfulness with Lucia Greene.
Lucia Greene is a yoga and mediation teacher, spiritual healer, and current graduate student in a School Counselor program, theater performer, and a former teacher. To many, she seems like the epitome of being grounded and centered, but most don't see the incredible journey she has been on to get to this point. At age 15, Lucia started "feeling the big feelings". These feelings quickly grew into depression and suicidal thoughts that she hid throughout high school and college because "the show must go on", as they would say in her theater group.
In this episode, we discuss Lucia's journey with mental health, how she developed a mindfulness practice, and how "refusing to be refused" saved her life. This episode offers SO many action steps for you, and SO much hope if you feel like you're never going to change or get better.
Trigger warning, depression and suicidal ideation.

This episode feature one of my best friends and favorite should-shredding solopreneur, Kristen Mann. Kristen and I talk a little about our own experiences pivoting to running our own businesses, and dive into shredding the "shoulds" and should shame that come with entrepreneurship, hustle & grind culture, and changes in identity.
Kristen is a graphic designer, business coach, and entrepreneur. She helps aspiring business owners create a personalized roadmap to ditch the 9-5 corporate life and grow their business or side hustle with confidence and ease.
She started her business-owning journey in 2017 as a graphic design consultant, helping both small and large businesses create consistent, cohesive brands amongst all platforms. She's worked with brands such as PUMA, Central Rock Gym, Steward Healthcare, Hilton Hotels, Magic Beans, and EnterpriseDB.
Through her 4.5 years of building her own design business she discovered that there were no comprehensive resources to make the transition from the 9-5 world into self-employment simple and stress-free. So, she developed the course that she needed back then:
Launch Your Business Bootcamp starts on January 31st and is a 10 week coaching program for aspiring business owners and side hustlers to gain clarity, get organized, and fast-track their journey to freedom and flexibility. The course will supply all the tools and support they need to make figuring out finances, legal, mindset, business systems, ideal client + offer creation, and marketing a breeze. Apply by the 14th to take advantage of the early-bird offer!
When she's not coaching or doing design work, you can find Kristen hiking, cooking vegan meals, and taking care of her aquariums and leopard gecko. You can connect with her on Instagram @kristenmanndesign

If you are struggling because the holidays look different this year, or if you feel overwhelmed by all the "new year, new me" stuff, you’re not alone.
While the new year can be a great time to reflect on the past twelve months, it can also be a time when all the feelings you’ve been repressing over the last year come together and make you feel like you’re failing at life. The flood of “new year, new you” messages may remind you of the goals you made 12 months ago that didn’t go the way you wanted, the things you didn’t get to do, and the life you thought you’d have by now.
If you feel like you "failed" this year (or last two years) because life didn’t look the way you thought it “should”, you weren't as productive as you wanted to be, you didn't get to do the big thing you were planning, or you felt like you didn’t do anything well, I hope this episode will help you pause, breathe, and reframe.

Happy Holidays!! This week's Shred the Should Episode is a special holiday edition to help you shred the toxic diet culture holiday "shoulds".
This time of year is wonderful, except for when diet culture crashes the party and tells you not to enjoy your holidays so you don't "fall off the wagon" and “ruin your bikini body”.
First things first, your body’s job is not to look good in a bikini.
Second, this messaging can be so harmful, send you into a "diet starts Jan 1" spiral, and keep you from being fully present or fully enjoying your holiday.
SO, Lara Days and I did a deep dive into where this messaging really comes from, ways to have less food fear this holiday season, how to set boundaries with others who may make triggering comments about food or bodies, and dismantle a few diet culture myths. I know this will be SO helpful for you and really hope you listen!
Lara is a certified nutrition coach, personal trainer, yoga instructor, and sports nutritionist who is on a mission to dismantle the diet industry and empower people to live their happiest, healthiest, most confident lives! Lara focuses on improving your mindset, unlearning your past conditioning, and creating productive daily habits so that you can find food freedom, ditch diet culture, and step into your power!

This week we are joined by Kelsey Rudzinsky, who talks about her journey of shredding the should, battling should shame, healing, discovering, and becoming...and how all of that that led her to leave her job, travel the world, and become the the person she needed when she was younger.
This was SUCH a powerful episode and I’m still in awe of the insight, authenticity and should shredding stories Kelsey shared.
Kelsey describes herself as “an ever- changing being, navigating this human existence and journeying through life! More specifically living right now as a nomad and a space holder, living in service, dedicated to healing myself, others and the universe as a whole!🤗”
This episode was SO good and there is SO much more that we want to cover, you can definitely expect to hear more of Kelsey in the future.
