We all seem to be flooded with request to donate to one entity or another. Which ones are making a difference in our world, and which ones are self serving? What motivates some to give so much, while others avoid giving to any charity all together?The answers for some is to give nothing to any in need, while generosity is in the DNA of others. I investigate that DNA to help listeners gain insight into legitimate charities that give so much to the world. I also interview individuals and businesses that invest in our communities and attempt to delve into their reasoning for giving. Giving it seems, is an art!
This Group of people led by the local district superintendent of schools raises money to give to 501c3 charities in the area. They have a chili cook off along with other functions throughout the year to fund their giving of thousands of dollars.
Sierra came to the local chamber of commerce two and a half years ago and helped turn a struggling town around with common sense ideas on reaching out into the community to help the local economy grow. She is willing to share her ideas with any that need help in growing a struggling community.
