Let's face it - I love talking to myself and thinking out loud. So I figured if someone else could benefit from all the random rants and rambles that go on in my head, then why not share them? From funny stories, to anecdotes full of lessons, to carefully catered advice, I promise there will always be something to take away. Even if it comes from a deep dive into my brain. New episodes every Wednesday!
being in your twenties is hard. growing up, i used to look to this point in my life as the best times i'll ever have. while i still believe that, it also came with some caveats and issues i never thought of. from societal pressure to succeed, to seeing others excel all over social media, living in this era can feel lonely and just plain weird. today, i cover some of those things that we all deal with during this time, offer some candid advice, and air out some of my issues with this generation's standards.
the post college grad job hunt was perhaps the weirdest, most challenging, yet most rewarding thing i've ever experienced. in today's episode, i dive into what the process looked like for me based on my circumstances, some of the things i learned along the way, and a couple helpful tips that can hopefully aid someone in a similar situation. the job market is always evolving, but i feel it's important to share personal anecdotes about such a common experience because the narrative is often one sided. all in all, i can only hope my rocky journey into a career can let others in similar positions know that they are not alone, and that we are all in this together.
i've travelled a lot recently and would like to think i've gotten a lot better at it. from booking flights to being efficient at the airport, i've definitely had my fair share of experiences that led to my discovery of all these tips i'm now sharing with you. while the list is not exhaustive, it's a good start if you're getting into travel hacks and certain practicalities of trips nowadays. i will 100% make a follow up episode including more details, but for now enjoy the preliminary list of the best things i've learned about travel and use every time i take a trip somewhere.

being alone and feeling lonely are often mistaken for each other when they are actually separate ideas that can sometimes be intertwined. in this episode, i unpack what it means to be alone and lonely separately, and also talk about some ways to feel more comfortable being alone and spending time with yourself. learning how to be alone and value time with oneself is one of the most important lessons to learn, and it is incredibly value to understanding ourselves and building our self worth and confidence. overall, it is important to understand both concepts of being alone and lonely in order to further grow out of our comfort zones and learn the value of alone time.

the concept of masculine and feminine energy can seem very superficial when you first hear about it. you may also relate it to the idea of gender and gender expression, but the two are separate and should be considered as such. in today's episode, i go over some of the core concepts of what "divine energy" is, how we use it, and why it is important to learn how to express in a proper, balanced way. everyone has aspects of both energies so it is important to understand what our prevailing traits are, and how we can use both to ascend to the best presentation of ourselves.

i'm sure we have all heard the idioms of "look on the bright side" and all that relate to it. these all stem from the idea of toxic positivity, practically forcing oneself to see the good in all situations no matter how dire or decrepit. in today's episode, i discuss why this is harmful and a very dangerous idea to promote, and how it affects us as humans in terms of understanding and regulating our emotions. i had no idea that i previously practiced certain things that were related to toxic positivity, so maybe this will be enlightening to some of you as well

being rejected is one of the scariest and worst feelings out there. from a job, to love, to pursuing a passion, we are primed to avoid it at all costs. but rejection is a part of life whether we like it or not, and we need to learn how to accept it in order to find the more amazing things in life. feeling regret about wishing you went for something is arguably worst than being told no, so why don't we take more chances and risks? you never know when something you were terrified of could actually work out in the best way possible.
i've never loved the idea of new year's resolutions. i always found them to be too much pressure and kind of cliché. but this year, i wanted to set attainable, realistic goals that i really want to strive for. some are simple, others are a little deeper and more complex. all of them would give me great joy to achieve and publishing this will definitely hold me accountable. and if you're reading this at the end of 2022 and i didn't fulfill one or more, no you're not.
allow me to introduce myself. i'm rae, and i'm accepting podcasting as a rational outlet for all the conversations i have with myself on a daily basis. i hope you find something meaningful or enjoyable here, and if not, i hope you at least crack a smile. thanks for checking out my show, and i hope to talk to you soon!
