We are Kate & Kalli (Kal for short). Just two mamas on a mission to help women get into a daily routine with God’s word. We have seen the power of community and vulnerability when share bits and pieces of our own walks with the Lord and hope you see Jesus in these everyday ordinary unfiltered conversations. We hope you dive headfirst into this community and allow God to move in your life through a daily pursuit of His wisdom and grace. So take a walk, sit with a hot cup of coffee, or put in those headphones while folding laundry as we encourage you in light of the gospel.
We talk all the time about HOW to read the Bible, but do we actually know why we should read our Bible? Diving into reasons why it is so important to be in God's Word daily.

Travis Shelton, from Meaning Over Money, joined us on this episode to dive into a really important topic and an area we are called to steward well: money. We believe all that we have is from the Lord and therefore we can and should be talking about it. But HOW do we steward our finances well without making money a focal point? And getting started or overcoming habits we've had for a lifetime can be overwhelming. These are the kinds of questions we dive into today and we are excited to share with you.

In this episode, Kate sits down with her husband to talk about a major life transition we experienced early on in our marriage, and how we relied on our faith to guide us through it. We discuss the challenges we faced, the decisions we had to make, and the importance of trusting God's lead in uncertain times. We reflect on how our faith played a crucial role in navigating this transition, and how it ultimately led us to a better place. We hope that our conversation will inspire others to take their own leaps of faith and trust that God's plan will lead them where they need to go.

We polled our IG stories asking what holds you back MOST from getting into your bible daily. Here’s what you said: 40% said you're in a busy season, 40% said you're in a sleep deprived season, 9% said they don’t know where to start, 11% said they don’t understand what you are reading. Kate & Kal have experienced each of these at different times and we feel like it needs to be said that we aren’t here to shame you into reading your Bible daily or to make your feel guilty if you aren't but speaking from our heart's desire for a generation of women and mamas who are Biblically literate, who are passionate about knowing TRUTH so we can pass that on to our babies and the people we do life with. We were grateful for the opportunity to interview founder and author of Mama Bear Apologetics, Hillary Ferrer. As Christians we want nothing more than to equip our kiddos to know and love God & his word. We worry about the cultural lies they'll inevitably be exposed to. We want to know how to equip them with a solid foundation for their faith. Mama Bear Apologetics is an answered prayer to thousands of mamas around the world wanting to do just that. Listen in as we get an exclusive chat with Hilary, answering what apologetics are, why they are important, and tons of nuggets and resources us mamas can start implementing TODAY with our kiddos. This episode isn't just for mamas though, but rather for anyone with influence over the next generation or even anyone just wanting to dig deeper in the foundation of their faith. We learned so much and it made the important job of leading our kids in the way of the Lord a little less overwhelming.

Diving into one of our last listener-asked questions from the summer: How do we remain selfless in a selfish world? We live in a very self centered world, everything seems to be ME-centered (even when it is disguised as otherwise) and because the enemy is sneaky, there is often truth mixed in with the lies making it EASIER to fall trap to them without realizing it. Kate and I dive into some cultural lies we hear that seem innocent but we believe can have a negative impact on our hearts and for the Kingdom. Lies like:
"Whatever makes you happy!"
"Love yourself first"
"You are enough"
"You do you! / I'm doing me!"

Even if you aren't one for routines, we all have that image in our head as to what an "ideal" quiet time with the Lord looks like. Maybe we watch women do it every day on their Instagram stories but we can't quite seem to understand how they do it with a screaming toddler who wants another round of cheerios and milk. We think there's a different approach. One that seems to work better in the long haul. And that is just as meaningful in our walks with Jesus. Using the same format as last week, we are walking through some lies/doubts/beliefs that moms shared with us they are struggling with, break it down to the ROOT thought that needs combatted, and then back that up with Scripture. Praying this episode meets you where you are at, that you can glean what is for you and leave the rest. As moms we struggle with so much GUILT and SHAME and we pray this episode frees you from that and points you towards Jesus, Scripture, and viewing mom struggles through a gospel lense and not a worldly one.

Throwing it back to an episode we recorded almost a year ago over on our instagram. The truths and encouragement shared are ones we've come back to time and time again throughout the last 365 days as different challenges and hardships have come up in our personal and professional lives. Listen in as we talk about how Jesus sustains us through the small daily hardships but also those times where we feel like we have no where else to turn.

We have a unique start to our Kate & Kal Community... sharing how it came to be. ALL the faithfulness of the Lord along the way. And what our community currently looks like. This episode was recorded in December before our husbands hooked us up with some REAL podcast gear so forgive us for the quality. If you hear cute baby noises, that's Kal's sweet baby Luke as our special guest.

Kate and I sit down to have a conversation about how to be discipling our kiddos, and what we have learned in our very short stints so far as being mamas to our kiddos (Carson (3) + Luke (7months) + Remy (1)).

A few weeks ago Kate posted asking the women in our online community to share some fears that stop them from sharing the gospel, and the answers were sooo good we had to talk more about them. Diving into the top lies that were shared (and that we have experienced ourselves) and combatting them with TRUTH!

Kate and I dive into a question we have struggled with as believers who live with anxiety... is it okay? Shouldn't I be able to fix it by having more faith, reading the Word more, etc? Come hangout with us as we share our thoughts on our constant surrender to the Lord of our anxious thoughts and how we feel it reflects on our life as believers.

It seems like the enemy preys on mamas in rocking chairs... Kate and I dive into our experience with postpartum anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and how the enemy has really used night time to attack our hearts and minds. Sharing some resources that have helped us, some of our favorite scriptures, and ways to fight against that and pursue the Lord during those middle of the night moments of anxiety.

We are taking a deep look at where we need to grow in our faith. Whether you are just starting out reading your Bible and trying to make it a daily habit, or needing to go deeper in scripture, prayer, and sharing the gospel, we want to challenge you. Are you willing to pray this prayer: "God show me where I can spend more time in my day reading your Word”.
Please bear with us as we navigate this new podcast space and getting our audio sounding superb. Fun fact: for this first episode we forgot to press RECORD on our mics and therefore you are hearing our phone audio.
All podcasts taped in real time from here on out will have our new mic system thanks to our wonderful hubbies. All previous episodes will have phone audio but we believe the Lord will use the content we've been faithful in sharing for the last six months so we are posting anyways.
