It's Time to Acts - Part 14
We have become such a calendar society. Thanksgiving, Black Friday, then the tree. This whole season has become event after event. Then we start all over with the new year. We lose sight of what it is really should be about.
Principle #13: The Church pursues a thankful heart.... and, the church is not the building. The church is the born again followers of Jesus Christ. A thankful heart is contagious.

It's Time to Acts - Part 13
How are things going so far in this series? How are you doing with the 5 expectations? Are we ok with the challenges and expectations coming from this series?
Read 2 Timothy 4:3-4. All this runs into last weeks and this weeks principles. Today, we come to a bit of a challenging principle. It is related to Principle #3: The Church is equipped to operate in boldness, courage, and power.
Principle #12: The body must be unyielding in our faith.... Despite the outcome.

It's Time to Acts - Part 10
Before we get into Principle number 9, here are some guide lines: * God's voice will never be contrary to Scripture * God will never tell you to do something that will lead you into sin * God will never tell you to do something out of God's attributes and character * See godly counsel and when we seek godly counsel, it must be someone grounded in God's Word and in prayer.
Today it is especially important to keep in mind the 8 prior principles. It might be challenging on a personal level. Don't run from the challenge or conviction.
Now, Principle #9: "No one is ever too far gone - irregardless" "IRREGARDLESS"? Yes, listen on.

It's Time to Acts - Part 9
The last two week's messages have been kind of hard. We all have a desire to be useful by God. Sometimes when we need to go to a certain place in our lives, we need to go through some hard places first. Then, when we go through those places, we are really ready to go. And in it all, we find that God is in charge. Where do we place our confidence?
This principle gets exciting, but we must remember the 7 previous principles to get to this one.

It's Time to Acts - Part 7
This series is not just to learn what the early church did, but how those principles apply to us. If we see these benefits, we need to position ourselves for change. Then, we can pursue those principles in application.
Today, we will have an opportunity to affirm our faith in Christ, or live in the world's expectations. But, there is no in between.
Principle #6: Faith worth believing in, is faith worth standing for. This is the principle for the steadfast heart.

It's Time to Acts - Part 6
Help us to never plateau, but each day to come closer to you. Just as we can see the season changing, we can see the season changing in this world.
Today, Acts 6 There has been complaints since the early church, and people needed to step up and help. But, what is our principle taken out of this?
Principle #5 - Extend impartial and unbiased compassion to all. True compassion is giving what is truly needed. Compassion must be wrapped in love.

Principle number 5 can be challenging with the two questions that we have been asking every week. What was the attitude of the early church and what is the attitude of the modern church (us)?
Principle #4: The Standard of Holiness Must be Upheld.
This message might be invigorating, or insulting, depending on where you are.
The opposite of Holiness is Commonness. In our lives, do we look more common with the world, or more Holy? And, how does this relate to Holy Communion?

It's Time to Acts - Part 2
Last week we gave an overview of the expectations of this new series.
The first principle just happened to land on this day. Labor day week-end. Pastor Jason said he didn't even realize it was a holiday week-end, but apparently the Holy Spirit did.
The principles we are going to cover are necessary. They are necessary principles.
We need to be the church that God want's us to be. And therefore, I need to be the person God want's me to be. If each of us do that, then this will be the church God intends us to be, in this community, at this time.
