Orphaned in East St. Louis as a teenager, she struggled to improve her circumstance until she made herself into the strong women she is today. She brings a local focus to national issues that impact us all more than we realize. A proud, progressive Democrat, she un-apologetically fights misinformation with the light of truth. She keeps herself busy with community advocacy focused on the rights and well being of formerly incarcerated individuals, and those effected by substance abuse or mental health issues.
