On this episode, 2017’s local and non-local Hip-hop categories are rated, from the album of the year to this year’s most disappointing artist, there’s no shortage of approvals or awards. Cheers to 2018, may this be your year.

Chris Jewson, Madison’s 2017 Hip-Hop Rookie of the Year recipient joins the Discovery Show to tell his musical journey. Chris has been writing wraps since the age of 11, fast forward 5 years later and Chris has made a name for himself in a city that’s booming with musical talent. With the help of his producer, photographer, and videographer friends, Chris and company aren’t looking to slow down anytime soon. After taking home a staggering six awards at this year’s Hip-Hop Awards, the no telling what this group of talented guys can do.
On this episode of The Discovery Show, Ya Boy Pete and Alec sit down with Madison’s own DJ Pain 1. Pain 1 is a highly regarded music producer and entrepreneur that is a veteran in the music scene. We discussed the recent article released by the Wisconsin State Journal, written by Rob Schultz, that wrongfully vilified the local hip-hop scene. Positively, we also touched on Pain 1’s non-profit organization UCAN and chatted about how they’re teaming up with local schools to bring hip-hop into the curriculum. Lastly, Pain 1 opens up about his path into music, the opportunities he’s gotten, and how he’s stayed relevant for more than 10 years in the music industry.

Ya Boy Pete and Lil Will sat down with Lucien Parker, a Madison artist, to discuss his highly anticipated EP ‘Metamorphosis’. From his basement beginnings in Minnesota to making an entire album out of his dorm room freshmen year, Lucien has been through it all as an artist. Fast forward to 2017, Lucien is on his 3rd full-length project and has crafted a unique sound and poetic flow that defines true hip-hop artistry.
The Discovery Show sat down with Simba Clothings founder Tanveer Vasdev to talk about their upcoming Fearless Showcase event! The event will have performances from many local and Midwest artists such as Ra’Shaun, MacFaded, Trebino, and the headliner Yung Gravy. This event is set to be the biggest lineup of local artists Madison has ever seen, with Yung Gravy at the helm, this is the event is bound to be an absolute banger!

On this episode of The Discovery Show Podcast, Ya Boy Pete sits down with musical artist Ted Park. Ted is originally from Madison, WI but is currently out in New York City working on music. From an early childhood of listening to Elvis to dropping out of High School to pursue music, Ted has taken huge steps since then to become a household name in the industry. Ted has had a number of hits in his career so far, his biggest being “Hello (Who Is This)” which hit the Billboard Viral Chart and Spotify Viral Chart in 2016. During the interview, Ted reflects on his success so far but says he’s preparing a full body of work that we can expect to hear in the near future. A lot can be expected from Ted, with a strong work ethic and unique approach to his music, there’s no doubt he’s set up for success.
