Boy meets Synergy…so far

Mr. V is a middle school history teacher who’s job description is much more than teaching History.  He teaches his students to ask questions and analyze why things happen rather than just accept them.  This concept he lives by transcends the classroom, but seeps into how he wants to live his life.

Before embarking on his 12-week synergy plan, Mr. V found he would be fatigued with simple daily activities such as going up 6 flights of stairs to his apartment, or playing  basketball, soccer, and football with his students. Check out the latest episode with Mr. V from Boys Meet Podcast and see how his first 4 weeks of his synergy plan has progressed [...]

“Birds of a feather, flock together.”

Who is in your flock?

Sometimes we create unhealthy habits based on our social environment. What is popular or the status quo can pressure us to make unhealthy decisions such as social drinking, partying, and eating out. However, there are circumstances that we have no control of such as how we grow up or what our social class is, and how it influences our habits.

Should we let what happens in the past influence our future?

Today I have Cognitive Neuroscientist, Ekarin Pongpipat @epongpipat, and Respiratory Therapist and former D1 soccer athlete, Dan Yoon @buttcheeksdan, to talk about how environments shape their perspective on fitness.  Tune in to find out what we surround ourselves with and how we educate ourselves to create hea [...]

What happens when we build a house on a weak foundation?

In our fitness journey, often times we like to “jump all in” to a certain program in hopes of expediating results without proper examination where we are mentally, emotionally, and physically. While it is appropriate to push yourself to get results, sometimes we need to take a step back to take 2 steps forward.

On today’s episode I have Registered Nurse and Financial Adviser, Jerwyn Tiu, talk about his experiences with making the mindful decision to “sharpen his axe before chopping down the tree.” Tune in to find out how he did it!

Our mind is a mirror to the body. And our body reflects our mind.

Adding physical strength can lead to mental toughness… but what happens when you experience moments of weakness, does that lead to mental degradation? Not necessarily. If we can be fully aware of these moments of weakness then we can find strength in it.

Today I have chemical engineer, James Guinto, talk about his journey through fitness. We talk about his vulnerability of being “overweight” basketball player, being injured and how it correlates to your mental fervor, and finding the strength in vulnerability.

Being healthy comes in many different shapes and forms.

Are you healthy because you are flexible from yoga? Are you healthy because you have a six pack from bodybuilding? Are you healthy because you have low cholesterol from eating a lot of leafy greens? Are you healthy because you can run 10 miles?

No matter how health has manifested itself, I have seen these kinds of people possess mental, physical, and emotional strength. Making fitness a part of your life may be the missing piece to creating life long happiness and success.

Regardless of your choice of exercise or diet methodology maintaining sustainability of a healthy lifestyle emanates from the skills and habits you create.

Check out my latest podcast episode with digital marketing manager of Questnutrition, Clark Pagaduan. We go through his 80 lb-loss transformation journey through different exercise methodologies like Insanity, Crossfit, Bod [...]
