We continue the review of Pastor Tony Evans' book Kingdom Man. Today’s episode explores how to work in your authority of Headship. All men falls into three categories of “hoods”: starts from Male-hood which simply is sexual identity know at birth or from the womb through ultrasound. Unfortunately some men stay defined here their entire lives. The second hood is the Boyhood here it is characterize by immaturity mixed with dependency. “Boys do not make wise decisions on their own, which is fine-if you are seven” here too many men do not graduate from it all their lives. They keep looking for someone else to be responsible for them. Looking for who to clean up their mess-not just physically, but emotional, financial, or relationship messes they created why in a hurry making unwise or selfish decisions. The third of course is Manhood.
We continue our conversation on the book Kingdom Man by Tony Evans. In today’s episode we explored the controversial concept of Headship and what God expects of us as men.

Even as the conversation around GBV keeps giving a vibe of a battle between men and women. However the Bible hasn't been silence on the issue. The conversation shouldn't be seen as a leech against men by women or those with agenda to ulter God's design. Even if there are those with such sinister motivate, the intent of GBV isn't about changing a particular gender but about creating a just and equitable society. For us as Christian men our charge is plan and simple- treat with utmost purity women's in our circles.
Last week we started exploring what the response of Christian Men should be on matters related to Gender Based Violence. In this part of the conversation the podcast back track to explore examples of gender-based violence and key in on the importance of Christian Men getting education around GBV matters. Especially as God has charged us to be confronter and ally with victims of gender-based violence. It conclude by sharing more ways Christian men can support this cause.

All men and women that have shaped the cause of the world were people of deep faith in God. From Isaac Newton, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, you name them.
Even in our contemporary times, their deep religious faith drives the cause they are championing. From Education to health care or even technology. They are and were social justice crusaders. Even some of them we wouldn't hear about them because their work are done in a quiet and self-effacing way, all in the name of Christ. God's standard is for us to demonstrate our faith in our work. Either as a flight attendance, pilot, teach or nanny's or even without a job title.
Today’s episode is exploring Religious Faith and the certainty of the right path to God. The difference and similarities between the world's religions are too complex to explain in a less that 30mins podcast. Though Christianity, Judaism and Islam seems to have a link to Abraham. It is only Christinaity and Islam that has a reference for Christ. However it stops at reference point, it doesn't acknowledge Christ as the saviour as we Christian do. It is only in this faith that you are taught a constant access to God not until a special religious festival.
Faith in God comes from unshakeable belief in God's word. Trust in his ability to satisfy and give us meaning to life. Most times we start from our parents and friends loyalty to God. However a day of test would come to see if we have our own conviction. Unfortunately it is at this point most folks says they have lost their faith. Or they are searching for a higher truth. Faith should guide and sustain us as well as challenge and drive us to seek a closer and better relationship with people and with God. For the next four weeks I will share reflection from President Jimmy Carter book Faith a journey for all. This week, we will explore what's the meaning of faith.
It is important to know that faith is not religious, it is a call to live the God life in spaces. Like President Jimmy shared in his book. I believe now, more than ever that Christian are called to plunge into the life of the world, and to inject moral and ethical values of our faith into the processes of governing.
Dictionary of wisdom defines wisdom as the quality or state of being wise. Knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgement as to action; sagacity, discernment,or insight. So if I may asked based on your last decision or your current state of being will you say you are wise?

It is funny how people try to buy legacy. Either when they are about to end a career or die or their family trying to get it for them when they are dead. However the choice of legacy is not bought through false positive behaviours. On the matter of legacy would we continue our conversation on wisdom for the Road Part 3, sharing my noted from the book Wisdom from Myles Munroe.
We take our next trip on the wisdom for the Road. Summary from last week is that it is wisdom to never drop our childlike faith. It is important also to live reflectively. Gathering lessons for those we meet on the way in live, so their paths can be better than ours. It is also important that you are not just caught up with trying to live longer without knowing why you are living. And living in wisdom demands that you know your purpose. Myles Munroe said "only with God's wisdom can believers forge ahead to make the world a safer, stronger, and more beautiful place." How powerful and needful is that statement now especially for us as men to build beautiful families that are bedrock of every society. Even the Bible charged us with getting wisdom. Proverbs 16:16a says " how much better to get wisdom than gold " The next four weeks we will be discussing wisdom, reviewing the book Wisdom from Myles Munroe. As Godly men will indeed should emanate compassion, humility, service, and love. However we must know there is another layer which is godliness. Have many in this generation have chosen the conveniences of niceness over the discomforts of godliness. If you must love your children like as shared in this episode, you must be godly, meaning you become the King's man. The King men, don't play with wooden swords against the forces of evil, they destroy evil in order to create the safest culture for their women and children. They are dangerous men under God, holding one another accountable. They protect and nourish their families.
As we end this series on winning the war on sexual temptation. What a journey it has been for the last six week discussing lessons from the book Everyman' Battle, how to win the war on sexual temptation one victory at a time written by Stephen Arterburn, Fred Stoeker with Mike Yorkey. We themed the conversation on six topics from asking where are you on the spectrum, how did you get there, knowing victory is a matter of choice, your first line of defense as the eye(bourcing), second line of defence which is your mind was the conversation last week.
Today is our last line of defense is having victory in your heart
We are a part away from our conversation on winning sexual temptations. Today is our second defense perimeter, the mind. And it is the most crafty and difficult to bring under control. However for you to master it, your first line of defense must be put in place. This should be an extra motivation for you to build your first line of defense. This line from our reference book "Every Man's Battle" captures our focus " the mind needs an object for its lust, so when the eyes view sexual images, the mind has plenty to dance with. Without those images, the mind has an empty dance card. By starving the eyes, you starve the mind as well."
To ensure victory in this war is to build a reflex action by training your eyes to bounce away from the sexual appearance. Doing this immediately makes your mind and eyes to understand your values and they cooperate with you. Of note is that there will be resistance, your body will fight back, it won't want to give up on its pleasures. The authors of the book Every Man's Battle shared two logical steps to help you overcome this resistance:
Studying yourself to know how and where are you attacked most?. And define your defense for each of the greatest enemies you've identified. In this episode we discuss how to build your line of first defense, the eyes.
It is important to remember that victory in this war is a choice. In this episode, we shared thought from the book "Every Man's Battle". A profound truth shared by Arterburn and the co-authors is that God will run with us, but He won't run for us.
The difference between those of us that have won or would yet win and those who have failed and would yet fail is this. Those who won or wants to win, hated their impurity. The decision is entering this war to win or die trying. This episode ask a critical question of you, do you hate your impurity?
Last week, we reflected on the question where are you in the battle on sexual temptations. We established that though enjoying sexualized jokes and living in your fantasy world is the foundation for your ultimate fall, there is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain. We left with a challenge for ourselves as men single or married to commit to our brides(Christ and earthly wife) Picking up further lessons from the book we are reviewing, Every Man's Battle by Stephen Arterburn and Co. Today we will reflection on the question how did you get here. It is important to know how you got to where you are in your struggle with sexual temptations in order to achieve adequate victory.
We have found ourselves in a time and space where everything around us makes an attack on sexual purity for men an outright war. The internet age has increased men's sensual image dose. Though it is impossible to avoid such temptations, it is a fight every man can win. For the next six episodes, we will be exploring Stephen Arterburn, Fred Stoeker, and Mike Yorkey’s work "Every Man's Battle", to give you effective weapons to win this war on sexual Temptation and have sexual integrity. By the end of these six-part episodes, you should have gotten some practical steps towards your victory over sexual temptation be set free to also help others. In part one we will reflect on the question "where are you in this battle?"

If we must become the men God wants us to be, then we must never protect reputation in honor of the truth. Disruptiveness calls us to overcome the fear of Man. Peer Pressure. And the What will others think, slogan. Most times we think God doesn't have a sense of humor. Because we have been scammed by religion and society. Especially as men we appear too serious always and now add a Christian man, we throw away playfulness. Unfortunately the Jesus we claim to follow is full of playfulness. Just like worthy soldiers when we struggle with our purpose. We shouldn't exhaust our spirit in anxiety about tomorrow. We need to return to the bootcamp and ask God what next. We end our review of Chris Tomlinson’s book, Crave: Wanting so much more of God. Summing up the lessons from Tomlison' book CRAVE, wanting so much more of God, invites us to be mindful of what sneak though the windows of our soul, which is our eyes.
