Hey guys, we’ve a wannabe influencer in the family. My 22 year old daughter is joined at the hip with her phone. We can’t go anywhere without her taking videos and selfies.
For example, if we go out to dinner, she’ll spend most of the time noisily editing posts on her phone, getting background music and captions and graphics, instead of actually being present at dinner and enjoying time with her family.
She’ll consider the dinner a success if she gets lots of engagement and likes, not whether she’s had fun with her brother and mam and dad.
On the one hand, this is clearly her passion but to me, it seems like a fake, meaningless thing to devote so much time and energy to. Tell Me I’m Wrong……

My boyfriend doesn’t invite me to hang out with his guy friends when they go out.
These are the fellas he’s known since his schooldays.
He says his mates’ wives don’t come along either, but we’re not married and their wives have already met all the lads many times before at weddings and other social get togethers when they were younger.
I’m missing out on a big part of who he is.
These friends have shaped his personality and my only experience of them is when he reads out the occasional funny message from their whatsapp group.
I’m well able to take part in slagging and have the craic so I think I’d get along with them fine. He doesn’t seem overly bothered about hanging around with my friends but at least he has met them a few times at my insistence.

Someone in Today FM had the brilliant idea that Ray should do the show from the car on the way to Electric Picnic, and today was the day to make it happen!

When is it too early to play a Christmas song on the radio? Foley introduces a rather interesting idea involving the Maori All Blacks or moreover a bunch of New Zealand rugby fans who wear interesting outfits and visit Ireland in the near future.
Ray was given the green light to play Little Big aka the ''Skippidy Bop Bop'' song as they are anti-war despite being from Russia that little factoid came in from Emma in Donegal. The song made famous not just by the band but by Ray opening the show with it daily which has found a surprisingly large fan base in Ireland, the video for the song on YouTube has over 620 million views to date.
JP was not Anseo today in the studio so Aisling had to step in to the fray with Ray and produce the show.

A request came in for a very obscure Westlife song ''Starlight'' which neither of the boys had ever heard of. Starlight which may or may not exist is a song that Foley reckons gets played about ten songs into their stadium gigs. Notwithstanding this, Westlife was played during the show in honour of the band playing this weekend.
Team member Orla has curiously not been around the office for the past two days and Ray posed the question ''Where has she gone?''. Now, the logical explanation is that she is gone on holiday but this didn't stop JP and Foley from asking the question.
