In each episode we’re going to explore how each guest became interested in international affairs and their current work in the field.
In this episode I was joined by Dr. Singumbe Muyeba. He is an Assistant Professor of African Studies at University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies. We talked about his work in urban development and poverty in Africa as well as his journey to become a professor. We also talked about his move to the United States, career path, and his research.
In this episode, I spoke with dean Mayer about his childhood in Atlanta, his education at Harvard, playing basketball abroad, a career at Duke University, climate change, how it is like to be a dean, his time in Denver, and his advise to Korbel students.
This episode's guest is Jonathan Moyer. Jonathan is an Assistant Professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies and Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for International Futures. I spoke with Jonathan about his time in Vietnam and how his bringing up in Pennsylvania inspired him to pursue the field of international affairs. We also discussed Jonathan's work at the Fredrick S. Pardee Center for International Futures, teaching at DU during a pandemic, and his summer garden.
In this episode I spoke with Meryl Balusek, a second year international human rights student here at the Josef Korbel school of International Studies at the University of Denver. Meryl spoke about her experience living and working in India and why she became interested in international human rights, her work at Generation Exchange, and her professional aspirations.
In this episode I spoke with Graham Everett, a second year International Security student at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies (University of Denver). We discussed his Peace Corps experience in the Gambia, his research work, and his upcoming trip to Geneva where he'll be studying at the Graduate Institute of Geneva and interning at the U.S. Mission to the UN and other international organizations.
