Sheikh Ikhrama Sabri, the head of the Supreme Islamic Council in Jerusalem, attacked what he called the intentions of "extremist settlers" to slaughter and burn the ashes of the 'Red Heifer' on the Temple Mount.

Under Jewish law (halakha), the only way to remove the ritual impurity that comes from contact with or being in proximity to the dead such as by entering a cemetery is through a ritual that includes sprinkling the ashes of a completely red heifer on the person with the impurity.

Wednesday called for Israel to move from defense to offense, following the double bombings in Jerusalem which left one person dead and 18 more injured.

Speaking with Israel National News - Arutz Sheva, Almog said that the terror attack was "well-planned by a cell which knew what it was doing. It was planned long before the first of the month," he added, hinting that the attacks have nothing to do with the results of the elections, or with the incoming government.

According to Cohen, "Offense is starting to use very harsh punishment - whether it is collective punishment for the entire village from which the terrorist comes, returning to the period of targeted eliminations, so that they will be afraid to enter their vehicles, and mostly a change in perspective, of moving from defense to offense. In defense, we can only make a mistake once, but we are always making mistakes and paying a heavy price. It's time to approach their beds and spill as much of the terrorists' blood as possible."

She said she was distressed by the idea of seeing Ben-Gvir in government but understood why so many others were not. “People like the idea of this simple easy answer, more than thinking Ben-Gvir is someone I would sit down for a beer with,” she said.

Presented after the panel with some of the scenarios that American Jewish leaders are hoping for, Duek said she was not optimistic that any would come to pass. She knows an array of young people voting for Ben-Gvir, including friends from growing up in Kfar Saba and her university classmates.

“I’m not as confident,” she said. “If I let my thoughts go where they want I would cry.”

The global economy is stuck in a rut that it won’t exit unless governments revolutionize policies and how they invest, rather than just hoping for a cyclical upswing, the OECD said.

The latest outlook and policy prescriptions from the Paris-based group mark a step beyond its repeated warnings about threats to growth from U.S.-China tensions, weak investment and trade flows. Those remain, but it also flags more systemic challenges from climate change, technology and the fact that the trade war is just part of a bigger shift in the global order.

Aish.com. painful omission by some British Jews.

In 2009, the British historian Andrew Roberts said that the “true reason of course is that the FO (Britain’s Foreign Office) has a ban on official royal visits to Israel, which is even more powerful for its being unwritten and unacknowledged. As an act of delegitimization of Israel, this boycott is quite as serious as other similar acts, such as the academic boycott, and is the direct fault of the FO Arabists. It is, therefore, no coincidence that although the queen has made over 250 official overseas visits to 129 different countries during her reign, neither she nor one single member of the British royal family has ever been to Israel on an official visit.”

Suicide Risk Disparities

Research on GID-diagnosed, transgender, and transsexual populations is sparse, and no national-level health surveillance survey currently collects information that can be used to reliably identify these populations. The literature suggests that people diagnosed with GID may experience a significantly elevated risk for suicide. For example, a study of more than 300 transgender persons in Virginia documented that 65% had lifetime suicidal ideation. Similarly, a study of 70 US military veterans, most self-referred for a gender evaluation, found that 61% reported lifetime suicidal ideation.7 These estimates are much higher than the estimated 8.4% prevalence of lifetime suicidal ideation among the general adult US population. Elevated suicidal ideation has similarly been found among other samples of transgender persons in the United States

May 15 is marked by Palestinian Arabs and probably a substantial percentage of Israeli Arabs as Nakba Day, the day of catastrophe.

The catastrophe in this telling is the declaration of the State of Israel in the wake of the culmination of the British Mandate. The Nakba was also the supposed “expulsion”[1]of Arabs from their homes and villages, which became a permanent reality after the defeat of the invading Arab armies by the defense forces of the new nation of Israel.

One might ask why should this day be marked? Is it just a recognition of a historical event, or is it more likely a mourning for the existential reality of the State of Israel? Correction: I should have said "Hashemites"

The office of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett clarified Monday evening that there is no intention to increase Jordanian control of the Temple Mount or to undermine the status quo on the mount, following the recent demands made by Ra'am chairman MK Mansour Abbas.

"The publications as if there are any discussions about changing Israel's sovereignty on the Temple Mount are baseless," Bennett's office said, "This is out of the question. The status quo in Jerusalem will be maintained. Here, too, just like the spin about a year ago on the establishment of a consulate for Palestinians in Jerusalem, there is no basis for this."

It was reported last week that Jordan has submitted to the United States a document in which the Waqf director in Jordan presents a long list of sweeping claims regarding the arrangements around the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount.

The murder of around 500,000 of Europe’s Roma and Sinti by the Nazis and their collaborators during the second world war is a little-known aspect of the atrocities committed during this period.

In the immediate postwar period, war crimes against Roma were not prosecuted. Survivors struggled to get recognition and compensation for the persecution they experienced. Roma victims were also not acknowledged in monuments commemorating the Nazis’ victims.

Torah Watchman Daily Wire

Andriy Nebytov, the head of Kyiv’s regional police force, told reporters that more than “900 civilian bodies have been discovered in the region surrounding the Ukrainian capital following the withdrawal of Russian forces.”

Zelenskyy TV has bragged on more than 20,000 Russian soldiers killed in Northern Ukraine since the War started, presumably during their major invasion campaign of Kiev. Zelenskyy also criticized Putin for leaving dead bodies laying exposed in the region. What happened to all of these bodies? UK satellites discovered bodies among the streets of Bucha 3 days after the Russian retreat from the area. Bucha is very near Kiev.

Logically, how could the same satellites, designed to image near real-time intelligence not able to confirm how 900 civilians, supposedly unarmed were murdered and tortured before the whole world? Who were these people in reality? Was there bullet forensic evidence obtained? Were there any independent investigations?

The text, found on a tiny 2-centimeter by 2-centimeter folded-lead amulet, also featured the name of God – written as "YHWH" in our alphabet.

Classified as a "curse object", the artifact was unearthed at Mount Ebal, which is one of the two mountains near the city of Nablus in the West Bank.

Mount Ebal is referred to as a "place of curses" in Deuteronomy 11:29 – Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament.

“We will lay your heads at Hitler’s feet,” a Banderist pamphlet proclaimed to Ukrainian Jews.

This is a truth that many in Ukraine, particularly in its western parts, deny.  In his book Erased (2007), Omer Bartov discusses the large bronze statue of Bandera that stands in a park in the east Galician town of Drohobych, most of whose 15,000 Jews were murdered.  The park stands on the site of the town’s former Jewish ghetto, but there is not so much as a plaque in the park to memorialize the Jewish dead.  This and other examples like it make a condemnation of Yushchenko’s step necessary.

A key figure in the corruption trial of Israel’s former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu may have been illegally bugged by police, according to reports, amid global controversy about Israeli-made spyware and how it has been used.

In a recording broadcast by Channel 12 news, police are heard allegedly discussing tapping a phone belonging to Shlomo Filber, a former Netanyahu ally turned state witness. “It’s as if it’s illegal … to install the application,” a police officer says.

The claim emerged days after Israeli officials admitted that – contrary to earlier denials – they may have found evidence pointing to improper use of spyware by its own investigators.

The organization was founded in 1988. Its membership consists of Israeli rabbis and rabbinical students. RHR has a nineteen-member board of directors. Rabbi Arik Ascherman served as co-director of Rabbis For Human Rights, becoming executive director in 1998. Ayala Levi took over as executive director in 2010. In the past, the organization received funds from the EU, UK and Spain.

David Bedein from Independent Media Review Analysis has criticized RHR, accusing it of joining "forces with the PLO to support the idea that Israel, was indeed, an apartheid, racist regime" at the 2001 UN Anti-Racism conference in Durban, South Africa. Rabbi Ascherman strongly denies this account, saying: "I want to clarify that RHR’s representative at Durban, Rabbi Jeremy Milgrom, actively voiced our criticism of the inflammatory rhetoric and Israel-bashing".

Rabbi Ascherman and RHR also expressed concern about the second Durban conference, saying "that Israel has committed human rights violations [is an issue that] can appropriately be discussed at a conference like this. But if you allow the conference to be hijacked as if Israel is the only place in the world where there are issues of racism and human rights, then it makes a farce of the whole thing. We're not trying to protect Israel from being criticized, but as people who are really concerned with human rights and racism, and think it is important that there be a body among the community of nations dealing with these things, we don't want to see another hijacking

Nearly 250 years ago, Empress Catherine II “the Great” played a similar hand when she attempted to impress the West while ruthlessly enforcing her authority over Russia and the surrounding region. Catherine presented herself to the world as an “Enlightened” autocrat who did not govern as a despot but as a monarch guided by the rule of law and the welfare of her subjects. Yet at the same time, she annexed much of what is now the Ukraine through wars with the Ottoman Empire and the partition of Poland and brutally supressed the largest peasant rebellion in Russian history.

Jews lived in Poland for 800 years before the Nazi occupation. On the eve of the occupation 3.3 million Jews lived in Poland – more than any other country in Europe. Their percentage among the general population – about 10% – was also the highest in Europe. After the conquest of Poland by Germany and the Soviet Union in September 1939, most of the Jews remaining within the area occupied by Germany – approximately 1.8 million – were imprisoned in ghettos. In June 1941, after the German invasion of the Soviet Union, the Germans began to imprison the rest of Polish Jewry in ghettos and to deport them to concentration and slave labor camps. Historian John Connelly wrote that the vast majority of ethnic Poles showed indifference to the fate of the Jews; and that "Polish historiography has hesitated to view [complicity in the Holocaust of Jews] as collaboration... [instead viewing it] as a form of society's 'demoralization'".[6] Klaus-Peter Friedrich wrote that "most [Poles] adopted a policy of wait-and-see... In the eyes of the Jewish population, [this] almost inevitably had to appear as silent approval of the [German] occupier's actions."[7] According to historian Gunnar S. Paulsson, in occupied Warsaw (a city of 1.3 million, including 350,000 Jews before the war), some 3,000 to 4,000 Poles acted as blackmailers and informants (szmalcowniks) who turned in Jews and fellow-Poles who provided assistance to Jews.[72] Grzegorz Berendt estimates the number of Polish citizens who participated in anti-Jewish actions as being a "group of dozens of thousands of individuals".[73]

In 1988, James Hansen warned the nation about climate change. Decades later, is American public opinion finally catching up?

There have been other lulls before and since, such as the Spörer and Dalton minima. However, Madhulika Guhathakurta, a heliophysicist at NASA, speaking in a personal capacity, questioned how the technology available then affected observations. “During the Maunder minimum, when we couldn’t detect any sunspots, the question remains how well could we detect very faint sunspots then or even now?” she told All About Space. We don’t know and have no measure of that. The uncertainty associated with detecting no sunspots is much harder than counting them during solar maximum.”

“We really need to be thinking about the historical context of medical mistrust, and the Tuskegee experiment is one of the most well known,” said Denise Herd, a public health professor at UC Berkeley. The Tuskegee Syphilis Study started in the 1930s, and was conducted on hundreds of Black sharecroppers in Alabama who had syphilis. The study leaders promised the participants free medical care in exchange for participating, but they never informed any of them that they were test subjects. The study went on for 40 years, and though a treatment for syphilis was available during this time, none of the participants were ever actually treated for their disease. Herd said children of Tuskegee participants carry scars to this day.

Zionism is the belief in the right of Jewish people to self-determination in the historic land of Israel. It is the founding idea of the State of Israel; to be anti-Zionist is to deny Israel’s right to exist. Given the fact that the State of Israel has been a refuge for millions of Jews in the aftermath of the Holocaust, including those fleeing new waves of persecution, anti-Zionism is virtually synonymous with antisemitism, in effect if not also in intent — especially when Israel is signed out for criticism.

Since the whole purpose of the bill is to enable the United States to empower the PLO and the P.A. while they support, fund, carry out and glorify terror attacks against Israel, it goes without saying that Levin and his co-sponsors are fine with, and indeed seek to reward, the Palestinian terror war against Israel. So when progressive Democrat lawmakers like Levin and his 24 co-sponsors express support for “the two-state solution,” they aren’t saying they want a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian conflict with Israel. For them, “the two-state solution” is a code for supporting the Palestinian terror war against Israel.

Israel’s Chief Rabbis issued a letter accusing The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) of seeking to convert Jews at its annual week-long Feast of Tabernacles celebration. The celebration has been hosted by the ICEJ since 1980 when they opened their embassy, and draws thousands of Christians from around the world in support of Israel. The 2014 festival, held in the wake of Operation Protective Edge, attracted 5,000 Christians from 80 different countries.

“It has come to our attention that those engaged in missionary activity under the auspices of the Christian Embassy in Israel are organizing a large conference during the days of Sukkot,” Rabbi David Lau and Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef wrote. “Part of this organization’s goals is to convert Jews from the religion of Israel and bring them under the wings of Christianity. Such a thing is severe and contrary to the foundations of our faith, and as such must be condemned and the public must be warned.”

In the New Revised Standard Version, 1 John 5:7-8 correctly and more concisely reads, "There are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three agree." John personifies the three elements here as providing testimony, just as Solomon personified wisdom in the book of Proverbs. Many other more recent Bible versions likewise recognize the spurious added text and omit it, including the New International Version, American Standard Version and New American Standard Bible, English Standard Version, New English Bible and Revised English Bible, New American Bible, Jerusalem Bible and New Jerusalem Bible, Good News Bible, New Living Translation, Holman Christian Standard Bible, Bible in Basic English and the Twentieth Century New Testament.  "The textual evidence is against 1 John 5:7," explains Dr. Neil Lightfoot, a New Testament professor. "Of all the Greek manuscripts, only two contain it. These two manuscripts are of very late dates, one from the fourteenth or fifteenth century and the other from the sixteenth century. Two other manuscripts have this verse written in the margin. All four manuscripts show that this verse was apparently translated from a late form of the Latin Vulgate" (How We Got the Bible, 2003, pp. 100-101).

The Mishna on today’s daf teaches that before the condemned man is taken to be killed a public announcement is made: So-and-so the son of So-and-so is to be taken to be killed by stoning for committing a particular capital crime. Anyone who has anything to say on his behalf should come forward to speak up for him.

The Gemara makes a point of noting that according to the Mishna the public announcement is made at the time that the death penalty was to be carried out. This stands in apparent contradiction with the following story that appears in a baraita:

On the eve of the Passover Jesus was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, ‘He is going forth to be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy. Anyone who can say anything on his behalf, let him come forward.’ But since nothing was brought forward in his favor he was hanged on the eve of the Passover.

The Gemara concludes that Jesus’s situation was unique since he was connected with the government. Since the government was interested in his case, the Jewish court wanted to ensure that everyone would recognize that he was given every opportunity to defend himself.

Having mentioned Jesus, the Gemara lists his five disciples, Mattai, Nakai, Netzer, Buni and Toda, all of whom are presented as offering biblical proof that they should not be killed based on how their names appear in Tanakh, and the Sages respond with corresponding passages that show that these names – and the people attached to them – can be destroyed.

All of the Talmudic stories that refer to Jesus are confusing and difficult to understand, particularly since they do not parallel stories about Jesus that appear in other sources. It is possible that we have hints here to incidents that were not preserved in other traditions.

be the messiah, the son of God and the second person in the Trinity. But what do Jews believe about Jesus?

For some Jews, the name alone is nearly synonymous with pogroms and Crusades, charges of deicide and centuries of Christian anti-Semitism.

Other Jews, recently, have come to regard him as a Jewish teacher. This does not mean, however, that they believe, as Christians do, that he was raised from the dead or was the messiah.

While many people now regard Jesus as the founder of Christianity, it is important to note that he did not intend to establish a new religion, at least according to the earliest sources, and he never used the term “Christian.” He was born and lived as a Jew, and his earliest followers were Jews as well. Christianity emerged as a separate religion only in the centuries after Jesus’ death.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - The United States pressed on with the monumental airlift from Afghanistan on Friday amid tighter security measures and fears of more bloodshed, a day after the suicide attack at the Kabul airport that killed well over 100 Afghans and 13 U.S. service members. The U.S. warned that more attacks could come ahead of President Joe Biden's fast-approaching deadline to withdraw American forces from Afghanistan by Tuesday. Two officials said the Afghan death toll in Thursday's bombing rose to 169, while the U.S. said it was the deadliest day for American forces in Afghanistan since August 2011. Biden blamed the attack on Afghanistan's offshoot of the Islamic State group, which is a lethal enemy of both the Taliban and the West. The officials who gave the Afghan death toll were not authorized to talk to the media and spoke on condition of anonymity. The number of dead was subject to change as authorities examined the dismembered remains. The Pentagon also said Friday that there was just one suicide bomber - at the airport gate - not two, as U.S. officials initially said.

Psalms 22:16 (17)

  1. They opened their mouth against me [like] a tearing, roaring lion. 15. I was spilled like water, and all my bones were separated; my heart was like wax, melting within my innards. 16. My strength became dried out like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves to my palate; and You set me down in the dust of death. 17. For dogs have surrounded me; a band of evildoers has encompassed me, like a lion, my hands and feet.

The historian Josephus, a Judaean who defected to the Roman side during the Jewish uprising of 66 – 72 C.E., describes finding two of his friends crucified. He begged for and was granted their reprieve; one died, the other recovered. Josephus gives no details of the method or duration of crucifixion before their reprieve. Archaeological Evidence Despite the fact that the ancient Jewish historian Josephus, as well as other sources, refer to the crucifixion of thousands of people by the Romans, there is only a single archaeological discovery of a crucified body dating back to the Roman Empire around the time of Jesus, which was discovered in Jerusalem. However, it is not surprising that there is only one such discovery, because a crucified body was usually left to decay on the cross and therefore would not be preserved. The only reason these archaeological remains were preserved was because family members gave this particular individual a customary burial. The remains were found accidentally in an ossuary with the crucified man’s name on it, ‘Yehohanan, the son of Hagakol’. The ossuary contained a heel with a nail driven through its side, indicating that the heels may have been nailed to the sides of the tree (one on the left side, one on the right side, and not with both feet together in front). The nail had olive wood on it indicating that he was crucified on a cross made of olivewood or on an olive tree. Since olive trees are not very tall, this would suggest that the condemned was crucified at eye level. Additionally, the piece of olive wood was located between the heel and the head of the nail, presumably to keep the condemned from freeing his foot by sliding it over the nail. His legs were found broken. (This is consistent with accounts of the execution of two thieves in the Gospel of St. John 19:31.) It is thought that since in Roman times iron was expensive, the nails were removed from the dead body to cut the costs, which would help to explain why only one has been found, as the back of the nail was bent in such a way that it could not be removed.

Studies of Cloth Mask Efficacy

In 2015, we conducted a randomized controlled trial to compare the efficacy of cloth masks with that of medical masks and controls (standard practice) among healthcare workers in Vietnam (4). Rates of infection were consistently higher among those in the cloth mask group than in the medical mask and control groups. This finding suggests that risk for infection was higher for those wearing cloth masks. The mask tested was a locally manufactured, double-layered cotton mask. Participants were given 5 cloth masks for a 4-week study period and were asked to wash the masks daily with soap and water (4). The poor performance may have been because the masks were not washed frequently enough or because they became moist and contaminated. Medical and cloth masks were used by some participants in the control group, but the poor performance of cloth masks persisted in post hoc analysis when we compared all participants who used medical masks (from the control and the medical mask groups) with all participants who used only a cloth mask (from the control and the cloth mask groups)(4).

Jesus was a wise and virtuous man with a significant following of Jewish and non-Jewish disciples.

He was crucified under Pilate.

There were reports that he appeared to witnesses following his resurrection.

Some were claiming that he was the Messiah that the Jewish prophets had predicted.

Jewish philosopher Philo (25 BCE to 47 CE) said nothing about the life of Jesus even though he lived in Judea during the time of his life and when the writings of the Apostle Paul.

Union spokespersons were starting to feel uncomfortable explaining to the media why they insisted on vaccines being available before returning to the classroom, but wouldn’t insist that teachers get them. NEA Executive Director Kim Anderson was interviewed on National Public Radio on August 9, and reporter Debbie Elliott was very direct.

“So will the NEA be supporting a mandate that teachers get the COVID vaccine?” she asked. After a 171-word answer from Anderson that never got around to the question, Elliott persisted. “So is that a no, you don’t support a vaccine mandate?” she asked. “Well, we’re looking at that question right now with our leaders,” Anderson replied. “We’re talking with members across the country.”

The 1947 constitution altered the relationship between state and society by introducing popular sovereignty. The constitution’s social reforms were transformative, designing a new role for the Japanese imperial family, placing the nation’s military firmly under civilian control, and establishing new rights for women. Those who have argued most strenuously for revision of the document chafe against its occupation origins. More recently, the Japanese people have been more open to thinking about how the constitution could be amended to reflect challenges Japan faces in the twenty-first century.

30 Years after Fall of Saigon, 7.5 Million Murdered by Michael F Dickey April 30th, 2005 marks the 30th anniversary of the fall of Saigon.  Three decades in which the Vietnamese communist government and proxies killed 7.5 million people.  But 30 years ago the people of America turned their backs on a just cause, confused and disheartened by sensationalized violence, biased reporting, and good intentions gone awry. They cried for peace and for an end to the killing.  They thought that when we left, peace would come, and the killing would stop.  But 2.5 million would die from land reforms, murder quotas ordered by the communist leaders, and brutal political oppression.  Over a million people would flee the communist oppression and take to the sea, hoping for a better life somewhere else. Hundreds of thousands died at sea.  The future the realists had so ominously predicted came to be, and the domino theory proved true enough.

After the Communist Party finished imparting their brutal oppression on the people of Vietnam, and with the west willfully silent, they moved onto Cambodia and Laos, killing 1.5 million people.  They then focused their weapons and chains solely on Cambodia, bringing to power the perpetrators of the worst democide the world has ever seen, where 2-3 million Cambodians were murdered.  A democide the world had cried "never again" at yet completely ignored, ignored again in Rwanda, and is ignoring again today in the Sudan.

The North Vietnamese communist governments and its proxies have killed 7.5 million people since 1975. The western world is the freest, the richest and the most militarily powerful, yet most of it stands idly by, justifying its own inaction by appealing to moral relativism ... a questionable philosophy steeped high in body counts. All the while murderous regimes like that of Saddam Hussein, Kim John Il, and the communist party of Vietnam rack up bodies by the millions and plant the seeds of murderous terrorism across the globe.

In Nigeria we are on the verge of genocide”. This is what Bernard-Henry Lévy wrote in his reportage from Nigeria published by Paris Match. A Muslim pastor tells him: “This is our land, whites cannot pass here. Do you want to spy on our women? It is prohibited by the Koran. There are too many [Black} Christians around here, Christians are dogs and children of bitches. They are traitors because they have converted to the religion of the whites, they are friends of the whites, they are unclean. When they all leave, Nigeria will finally be free ”.

MEAT-EATING & SHECHITAH

The Divine plan was originally that we should be vegetarian. God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant upon all the earth, and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit; they shall be yours for food" (Gen. 1:29).

After the Flood, meat-eating was permitted as a concession to human weakness.

Rav Kook says, however, that in the messianic period "people and animals will not eat flesh. No-one will hurt or destroy another living creature. People’s lives will not be sustained at the expense of the lives of animals" (cf. Isa. 11:7).

In the here-and-now meat-eating is clearly permitted; the sidra explicitly says, "When you shall say, ‘I will eat flesh’, because your soul desires to eat flesh, you may eat flesh" (Deut. 12:20).

However, there are limitations. Only certain animals, birds and fish may be eaten; the blood must not be consumed; and the method of slaughter must be "as I have commanded you" (Deut. 12:21).

The authorised method of slaughter of animals and birds is shechitah. In a religion like Judaism which stands for humanity and compassion in every sense, and kindness to animals in particular, it is axiomatic that the prevention of pain to animals is crucial to the manner in which the shochet operates.

The animal must be conscious and sound, and prior to shechitah must not have suffered any injury.

The method of slaughter is by a single cut of the neck. The knife is set to exquisite sharpness, with a perfect edge free from the slightest notch or flaw, and examined for any unevenness before the slaughter of each animal.

The most vociferous opponents of the government’s plan to implement a “kashrut revolution” in the Knesset have been members of the haredi political parties. If that’s not surprising, then perhaps it should be, because virtually no one identifying as haredi relies on the kashrut supervision of the Chief Rabbinate. Instead, haredim place their trust in the various “Badatz” (beit din tzedek, or righteous court) supervising agencies, whose seals can be found alongside that of the Rabbinate on many food items. This is because as it stands, the law requires all food items to be supervised by the Rabbinate; other kashrut organizations are then free to add their own level of supervision.

"This genocide is ongoing, and...we are witnessing the systematic attempt to destroy Uyghurs by the Chinese party-state," US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement Tuesday, on the last full day of the Trump administration.

"Since at least March 2017, local authorities dramatically escalated their decades-long campaign of repression against Uyghur Muslims and members of other ethnic and religious minority groups, including ethnic Kazakhs and ethnic Kyrgyz," Pompeo said.

The Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus, the dominant strain in the U.S., is driving up cases in particular where vaccination rates are lower. Also known as B.1.617.2, the variant was first identified in India in late 2020. It has spread to at least 85 countries, according to the World Health Organization, and has itself mutated to produce a further version that is causing concern in India. Vaccines from Moderna Inc., Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer Inc. and partner BioNTech SE—the three shots authorized in the U.S.—were primarily tested in large clinical trials for their efficacy at preventing symptomatic disease, rather than their ability to prevent infection completely. While the vaccines seem to be slightly less effective at preventing symptomatic Covid-19 from the Delta variant, research has shown that they remain highly effective at preventing serious illness and hospitalization. Overall, the portion of eligible Americans fully vaccinated against Covid-19 has been stalled for weeks at around 57%. Here is what we know so far about the Delta variant and vaccines.

Ben & Jerry’s was started in 1978 by two Jewish hippies, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield who opened an ice cream store in South Burlington, Vermont. The company was and is known for its social activism, fairness to its employees and respect for the environment.

However, a bit more than 20 years later, in 2001 the two “peace, love and freedom” activist entrepreneurs sold out to Unilever, a multinational corporate giant that has become the world’s third-largest consumer goods company, having been forced by what they said was “shareholder responsibility”.

In Judea and Samaria alone, there are more than half a million Jewish residents – many of them fans of the product up to this point.

But if the company was threatened with a massive economic boycott combined with demonstrations in front of every store selling its product in the US, UK and elsewhere, it is indeed possible that fear has triumphed over good business sense.

The international BDS campaign has socially and economically terrorized companies at least as large and some even bigger than Ben & Jerry’s.

It’s not clear precisely whose decision it was to refuse to do business with half a million Israeli Jews, but it’s clear that Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream is willing to sacrifice its name as an advocate for equality in order to express its support for hatred of Israel, and Jews.

Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem had not yet been built when this verse is supposed to have been revealed to Muhammad. According to Islamic tradition, he died in 632, while al-Aqsa Mosque was built in 705. Either the Qur’an passage refers to a different “farthest mosque,” or the passage itself was written long after Muhammad is supposed to have died, or both. In any case, the standard interpretation of the Qur’anic passage, that it refers to Muhammad’s Night Journey to Jerusalem on a winged white horse, al-Buraq, is clearly false, and that whole story is legendary, despite the fact that it is the basis for the Islamic claim to Jerusalem as a holy city for Muslims.

(This article first appeared in the January 20, 1992 edition of Citizen magazine) How Planned Parenthood Duped America

At a March 1925 international birth control gathering in New York City, a speaker warned of the menace posed by the "black" and "yellow" peril. The man was not a Nazi or Klansman; he was Dr. S. Adolphus Knopf, a member of Margaret Sanger's American Birth Control League (ABCL), which along with other groups eventually became known as Planned Parenthood.

Sanger's other colleagues included avowed and sophisticated racists. One, Lothrop Stoddard, was a Harvard graduate and the author of The Rising Tide of Color against White Supremacy. Stoddard was something of a Nazi enthusiast who described the eugenic practices of the Third Reich as "scientific" and "humanitarian." And Dr. Harry Laughlin, another Sanger associate and board member for her group, spoke of purifying America's human "breeding stock" and purging America's "bad strains." These "strains" included the "shiftless, ignorant, and worthless class of antisocial whites of the South."

Not to be outdone by her followers, Margaret Sanger spoke of sterilizing those she designated as "unfit," a plan she said would be the "salvation of American civilization.: And she also spoke of those who were "irresponsible and reckless," among whom she included those " whose religious scruples prevent their exercising control over their numbers." She further contended that "there is no doubt in the minds of all thinking people that the procreation of this group should be stopped." That many Americans of African origin constituted a segment of Sanger considered "unfit" cannot be easily refuted.

(JNS) Over the past few decades, evangelical Christians have emerged as one of Israel’s core bases of support both in the United States and many other countries as well. However, growing trends of secularization and liberal ideology, as well as the erosion of a pro-Israel theology, are threatening to undermine this support, particularly among young evangelicals. A recent poll commissioned by two University of North Carolina at Pembroke professors—Mordechai Inbari and Kirill Bumin—showing a sharp drop in support for Israel 🇮🇱.

It seems ironic now that the Arab Revolt between 1936-1939 – a violent nationalist Palestinian Arab uprising, in part to protest growing Jewish immigration – led to the development of Tel Aviv as a port. The use of Jaffa was considered too precarious, and an effort to effect systemic change in the country, not for the first time, backfired massively on those it was intended to help. Palestine’s Jews meanwhile, continued to build the infrastructure of a potential state, acquiring land, investing in water technology, continuing to develop the Hebrew language and attempting to create a civic society that would be essential in the future.

And Now The Associated Press Almost Got into Trouble for Wading into the Anti-Semitic Waters

Matt Vespa | May 21, 2021 6:35 PM

Source: Mahmud Hams /Pool Photo via AP It always comes in threes. At CNN, they had a photo editor who was peddling anti-Semitic trash. There was another freelance contributor who was open about being pro-Hitler. What is it with these organizations that hire folks that will undoubtedly land them in trouble? I don’t work in human resources, but I’m sure that a full-blown Nazi is not someone you want to hire. With social media, this stuff is out there. It’s perused. And yet, these liberal outlets still get caught hiring anti-Semitic clowns. The New York Times is a den for that now, which led to the resignation of Bari Weiss, who is a liberal. She’s just not a communist like the rest of the reporting corps. And we wonder why the coverage of the Israel-Palestinian conflict reads like a Hamas pamphlet.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) (often known as ISIS or IS) is recognized by the United Nations as the perpetrator of a genocide of Yazidis in the Sinjar area, northern Iraq. The genocide led to the expulsion, flight and effective exile of the Yazidis from their ancestral lands in Upper Mesopotamia. Thousands of Yazidi women and girls were forced into sexual slavery by the Islamic State, and thousands of Yazidi men were killed. Five thousand Yazidi civilians were killed during what has been called a "forced conversion campaign"
