We talk about grief, identity, and the state of youth mental health in New Zealand. We also talk about hope, what keeps him going, and what a better future could look like if we’re willing to show up and do the work!

So good, we had to run it back twice! This is a re-release of episode #13 with Guy Williams – if you're new to discovering the pod, there's an amazing catalog of timeless interviews with some of New Zealand's biggest names. I remember being really nervous for this ep, as a big fan of New Zealand Today and being quite early in my podcasting journey!

The host of the greatest TV show on earth, New Zealand Today and one of New Zealand's best comedians. Grateful for Guy for jumping on while he was down in Wellington for some shows!

This episode is dedicated to the late Connor Garden-Bachop, who was taken away way too soon earlier this year and was episode #2 on "Beyond the Surface".

This episode was really speciail, Jackson recently tipped 100 games for the Lions, being the only player since Tana Umanga to reach the milestone. Jackson has now signed with Moana Pasifika, joining Ardie Savea and Tana!

Jackson is one of the most resilient people I have ever met, after losing his beautiful Mum Sue at a young age and now going through the unimaginable with losing a vibrant soul like Connor, it's hard to put into words what he has gone through.

I hope you enjoy this conversation, this one is for you Con – love ya mate! Peace, Love and Positivity..

One of the rawest and most vulnerable episodes we've ever recorded.

In 2009, after experiencing a mental breakdown following a relationship breakup, Rob found himself in a dark place, seeking an escape from his pain.

He called the police, hoping for a violent end, but instead found himself shot through the chest and living to tell the tale.

Now Rob is on a journey to teach others how to better manage their mental health, to save the lives of those struggling with depression.

A top human, Jiu Jitsu Practitioner, and one of the the craziest stories of all time. I highly recommend checking out his work and his documentary "Shot Bro" - link below!

Such an uplifting kōrero with Pera, the Founder of Shoebox Christmas. This man wears many hats, from being a social entrepreneur, rapper, author to a podcaster. Fuck Andrew Tate, young males need more positive role models like Pera in their backyard.

When we recorded the podcast, Pera brought his son Kahu along to the studio, it was the first time we had a mini audience while filming! Check out Pera's mahi:

Pleasure to sit down with Israel Whitley, who is taking the business world by storm. After failing NCEA and having two heart attacks by the age of 21, he now owns two companies with the combined revenue of over $40m and lives out everyday by giving it his all. 'Hard work, works' is the mantra.

So much value in this episode – what a story this guy has! It motivates the hell out of me seeing other young fellas raising the bar and smashing their goals, get after it fam.

Kicking off the first episode of 2022, I sat down with Jubes – an aspiring actor who hit cinema's across New Zealand when he landed the lead role in 'Savage' – a provoking kiwi film on growing up within a gang. Acting is bread and butter for Jubes, who smashed his first acting performance out of the park.

He's continuing the acting journey and also focussing on boxing and making the New Zealand Olympic Team! Love yarning with people who set the bar and push themselves, I hope you enjoy! Leshgo.

Valuable yarns with Brad Olsen, one of New Zealand’s leading economic commentators who’s making supply and demand sexy again. As a 24 year old, Brad’s met the Queen, was awarded the 2020 Young Wellingtonian of the Year, is a frequent in the media, is NZ's youngest Justice of Peace and is a Director at his work, Infometrics. Not a bad resume!

In this episode, we unpacked some of the challenges facing the future generations, with the average house price in NZ now over one million dollars, we are looking at a generation of future renters! Pretty grim eh, but not all hope is lost.
