A relationship is an exchange of lives. We do it cross culturally and sometimes it feels like we're from different planets. "Do you guys..." is our love language. Do you guys do this? Do you guys have that? This is a cross cultural discussion about news, pop culture and how we bridge those gaps.
We are back! And it's been an embarrassingly long time. Because we were planning a WEDDING! In the meantime we got married. We've already spoken about it with Betches Bride AND Vogue.com. So we thought our first episode back would be giving insight on our wedding planning process, planning our cross culture wedding and all the Do You Guys moments that happened!

'Tis the season and it's been a bit of a whirlwind! From recording (3 sessions) to posting, this set took us about a week and 1/2 but Omicron be damned we're excited to celebrate with you before 2022! On this episode of Do You Guys? We talk about how we divvy up holidays as a long-distance couple, and how that's going to change moving forward. Plus tips for you to crush the holiday season with your partners or friends family. We also discuss Michele's bountiful Thanksgivings with Nneya's family, Michele's childhood holiday traumas and learn some Italian (and Italian-American) holiday traditions!

Pardon our potty humor but we can't get enough of the bidet. And we sing its gospel to every household we enter. Ridley Scott may be blaming Millennials for The Last Duel not doing as well at the box office. But these 2 millennials spent our dollas at Bam Rose Cinemas in Brooklyn seeing House of Gucci. We were hooked after listening to the audiotape of the book on which the movie was based. Sara Gay Forden's House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed. And we have some thoughts! Main take away WE WANT MORE GLAMOUR!!! We love the actors, we love the story, but did we love #HouseofGucci? We're back! Sorry for the hiatus, we took a little break to hang out down south and get engaged! Our travels and engagement inspired today's episode. Michele has a strange obsession with the mid-west and Nneya is often breaking down her elementary school US geography lessons for him -- he knows more about the Mason Dixon than an Italian man needs too. In turn, Nneya is often asking Michele, "when did Italy get together again," "but it's such a small space, how different could it be?" This week, we get into the North and South of Italy and the US. Instagram beefs, and Michele makes some shocking admissions as a Northern Italian.

We came across a great Atlantic article discussing America's latest uptick in drinking and how it defers from the drinking practices in countries like Italy. Naturally, the best way to discuss this is over an aperitivo, celebrating our first recording together.

Today, June 12th is Loving Day, celebrating the Supreme Court ruling for Loving vs. the state of Virginia which struck down all anti-miscegenation laws remaining in sixteen U.S. states. The landmark civil rights decision declared prohibitions on interracial marriage unconstitutional in the nation.
Chief Justice Earl Warren wrote the opinion for the court; he wrote that marriage is a basic civil right and to deny this right on a basis of color is "directly subversive of the principle of equality at the heart of the Fourteenth Amendment" and seizes all citizens "liberty without due process of law."
Naturally, we celebrate this ruling and appreciate the Lovings and their fight for the basic right to live as man and wife. This week, we get into that, Nneya cries and Michele goes off into a tangent about honor killings. Enjoy!

The Italian family business is stuff of pop culture legend, whether not so above board, popularized by crime family movies, or those bringing the joys of Italian culture worldwide like food, the Bastiniach or fashion, the Missonis. It makes you think that all business in Italy are family businesses. Well, 60% are, most of them still owned and operated by the family and guess what? Michele's family is one of them. We're talking the Scagliones, the Guccis and the pros and cons of the family business model on today's show. Trust, Michele's business is certainly apart of our pillow talk.

In the past week we had yet another mass shooting in the United States. Gun violence is something that comes up a lot and the level of comfort in guns / desensitized to it is a stark difference in our cultural upbringings. When Nneya studied abroad in Milan way back when, in her cultural briefing from her program she was told about a strange thing, the mammone. On the surface, the Italian word for mamma’s boy, but so so much more.
