For part two of our National Donate Life Month series, we are joined by Mary Grace Hensell and Melvin Protzman, who met after Mary Grace's son, Brian, died in a car crash in 2011. Protzman, who was in year four of waiting for a heart transplant, received Brian's heart and is now committed to making sure that Brian will never be forgotten. Hensell and Protzman met shortly after the transplant surgery and have been close friends ever since.

Gloria has worked for the Court system since 1990, but it wasn’t until she worked as a Judge’s Court Clerk in Nevada that she had her first glimpse of Drug Addiction. While working in Drug Court, she gained a great deal of admiration for addicts in recovery, watching them grow week to week, all the while not knowing that one day it would personally touch her family. Gloria’s granddaughter became her inspiration for the Mercer County Coalition for Drug Awareness. Gloria continues to work in the court system as the Intake Officer of the Domestic Relations Section of Mercer County.
