I am so happy to be sharing this super personal journey through my favorite medium in sound. I preach to media practitioners that I mentor and train, that they need to start narratives that no one has demanded, requested, or shown a direct need for – but rather pro-actively view the world around them, step in, and tell a story that they didn’t know the world around them, wanted to be told.

On my recent trip to Australia, I was lucky enough to visit one of South Australia’s biggest stations, SAFM, and sit down with their Head of Content, Matthew O’ Reilly.
We had a cool chat about the Australian market, content "policies", South African radio fluidity, listener attention and loyalty, dormant versus active audiences, and some added value banter around live-streaming events to audiences.
As the Programme Manager of the legacy campus station, Tuks FM, back in South Africa, I am reviving our on-air listener presence and rebuilding an edgy, forward-thinking platform for young voices to call home.
Today’s listener wakes up to a Spotify playlist, scrolls TikTok while getting ready for work, listens to a podcast during a commute, watches YouTube during lunch, engages with Instagram throughout the day, and only occasionally interacts with traditional broadcast media.
The challenge facing broadcasters globally is therefore not simply audience acquisition—it is audience retention, audience engagement and audience habit formation.
Australia has emerged as one of the most innovative radio markets in the world in adapting to this new reality. While many mature radio markets have struggled with audience fragmentation, Australian broadcasters have successfully evolved by reimagining the role of radio itself.
The key question is no longer:
“How do we get people to listen to our station?”
Instead, it has become:
“How do we become part of people’s daily lives regardless of platform?”

In this episode, I am doing a series special. I have a friend, a comrade, that has recently started working with FISA. His superior King Bishop the General Nthai Monnye-Malatji, the FISA President recorded an address to the nation, which was DM’d to me.
Who’s Out There? A New Testament – aims to share a broader spectrum of understanding why the scriptures are engrained in any society, and its success, or downfall.
Amongst what I know so many South Africans have been pulled apart from each other, and from their own selves – this one message from one man, echoes what most of us know, as the truth.
Here are some focal points from the Bishop:
•People go to church because they are having problems, others are facing health problems, others have psychological problems, others have physical problems, others have financial problems, others have spiritual problems (evil and good) others have occupational problems, legal problems, others business problems, others socio-economic problem and many others but there is one solution.
•Great leaders are brave, they speak the truth no matter how difficult it is, let's tell people the truth.
•How can the young adults with lots of information in the public domain about the evil deeds of politicians, subscribe to their agenda?
•Those who do not change, will suffer in the hands of politicians until death, those who do not respect time, their names will be forgotten forever and their children shall gain nothing but, slavery.
•Let's tell people the truth, you will never fulfill your purpose as long as politicians are in power, and you will never have joy, peace, or financial freedom unless you repent and submit to the kingdoms of God.

After a life-altering accident that permanently changed the ebb and flow of her brain, Irene quickly realized that there exists an enormous information gap regarding Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) which often causes to awful preconceived ideas and rather ignorant remarks.
She decided to do something about it and wrote her memoir in order to inspire change in the lives of those living with the repercussions of a TBI as well as their loved ones. To educate the general public and to shed some light on the often heavy topic of brain damage in order to diffuse the distasteful stigma that so often clings to it.

Early Life and Career Ciara was born Ciara Princess Harris on October 25, 1985, in Austin, Texas. As the only child of Jackie and Carlton Clay Harris, she grew up on U. S. Army bases all over the world, including stops in Nevada, New York, California, Arizona and even Germany. Ciara settled in Atlanta as a teen and after watching pop group Destiny's Child on television, she decided that music was what she wanted to pursue.
She wrote poems and stories as a young girl, but Ciara never took her writing seriously until she joined a girl group called Hearsay. Seether are a South African rock band founded in 1999 in Pretoria, Gauteng. The band originally performed under the name "Saron Gas" until 2002, when they moved to the United States and changed it to Seether to avoid confusion with the deadly chemical known as sarin gas.
