In this heartfelt episode Freda Shafi talks to Tracy Foster founder of the Family Burns Club.
Tracy has worked as a Play Specialist and Burns Specialist for over 20 years at both Pinderfields Hospital and independently at the Family Burns Club receiving many accolades including a BEM British Empire Medal for her services. She works tirelessly to raise over £30,000 a year to support children who have been victims of burns.
Tracy found that the impact of burns and the repercussions of the trauma were even bigger once the child and family went home and left the full time care of the hospital. The charity was established to help children, their families and young adults face the challenges of suffering a burn injury, in an atmosphere of fun, support and rehabilitation resulting in an improvement in care and experience. As Tracy explains "If I could bottle the screams of a burn victim I wouldn't need to explain how traumatic it is for the child and their family".

'At the age of 14 my mother enrolled me on a Model and Confidence Course with Louise Morton and I realised very quickly that my way in life was definitely going to be in the beauty and fashion industry.
After taking a Beauty Course alongside part-time Modelling I was extremely lucky to be taken on to the books of a leading London Agency, Gavin Robinson in Old Bond Street. This was a very important part of building my career and allowed me the chance to work as a Fashion Model for over 25 years for many leading companies and international designers.
Throughout my career as a model, I was fortunate to become involved in the planning and organisation of many show productions and fashion events. This side of the business is the main focus of the company. Over the years we have gained our reputation as a team through dedication, commitment, professionalism, and attention to detail. Taking the pressure away from our clients is my main aim!
Coaching potential models and organising confidence courses have also been an important part of my career. I am extremely proud to say that we have nurtured and developed the careers of many girls and boys to become a leading catwalk and photographic models.
Through our Confidence Courses, we have also helped many pupils to gain in confidence, styling, presentation skills and very importantly overcome shyness.'
