About Zaparas Lawyers

Zaparas Lawyers has a proud tradition of service as a family business. With over 40 years specialising in personal injury law, we operate across a range of practice areas such as WorkCover, TAC, Public Liability, Superannuation and Occupational Disease. Our strong company ethos is underscored by believing in a society where all individuals have appropriate redress when they suffer loss. In support of this ethos, we do everything in our power to make the legal process as open, uncomplicated and as non-frightening for our clients as possible. By providing the best advice we achieve just compensation for clients and earn a strong reputation and as well as respect in our field.

Our History

Peter and Lia Zaparas founded Zaparas Lawyers in 1981 with a strong legal intellect and a genuine spirit of caring and collaboration.

As their business grew, so did their family, and they couldn’t have been prouder than when their three children (Yianni, Paul and Zoe) joined the firm themselves.

Now, the wider family has grown to over 170 members, all with a genuine desire to care for people and help put them and their families on the road to recovery. The entire team not only cares about getting justice through the law, but is also deeply concerned about the welfare and interests of our clients. This is at the centre of everything we do.

Our Values

Trust our family to care for you - Zaparas personal injury lawyers believe in treating everyone as if they are family. By getting to know our clients on a one-to-one basis, we are able to apply the most consideration to each and every case. Going above and beyond for our clients is the standard at Zaparas, offering a unique combination of compassion and legal excellence.

What’s important to you, is important to us - Our personal injury lawyers are deeply concerned about the welfare and interests of every single client. Each case is of equal importance to us. We have found that the best way to help our clients move on with their lives is to take a more considerate and personalised approach.

Respect drives our success - Respect is instilled into every aspect of our process. Respect is why our personal injury lawyers take the time to get to know every individuals’ story. It is why we fight for justice, and our driving motivator in getting people lives back on track. Our honest and caring structure earns the mutual respect of all parties which ultimately leads to better outcomes for our clients.

Mental health - and creating excellent mental health is not just a buzz term, but perhaps more important than ever in order to thrive both at work and in our personal lives.

Whilst the topic itself can seem overwhelming, we break down what we believe are 5 essentials to creating excellent mental health.

We discuss -

  1. The power of sleep on good mental health, and it’s ability to diminish our mental health.
  2. The importance of socialising in accordance with your personality (especially for introverts).
  3. The role of social media consumption on mental health
  4. The ingredient of regular movement, and how it can improve our mental health.
  5. And the importance of eating, not just a healthy diet, but with other people around us.

This episode is for the advanced learners! If you’re into gut health, and want to go beyond the basics, get ready for a masterclass.

We discuss the upper gut, middle gut and lower gut - the signs and symptoms of each area of the gut as well as the conditions that relate to each area.

From burping and indigestion to SIBO and parasites, each condition that starts in the gut comes from a different area of the gut.

Makes sense, right? But what we do about that, and how we go about improving our gut health depends on more than just where it’s originating.

How are you absorbing your food? And what do you do next?

From the sesame seed challenge and more conversations about poo, tune into the Laws of Gut Health.

Only the US, Switzerland and Hong Kong have more wealth than Australia.

Depending on who you ask, Australia might even be top of the wealth tree.

Regardless of what research you look at, it costs a good amount of money to live in Australia. And yet, for all of that, many Australians still aim to retire on the pension, not realising that they are setting goals to live in relative poverty.

On this podcast we discuss the laws of financial health. It’s not rocket science, it’s simply common sense. And we don’t share it in a prescriptive manner, since neither of us are financial experts.

Instead, we share our stories and experiences in the hope that you are on the right side of financial health as you get older and can enjoy the bounty of living in Australia.

Is the news good or bad? Does it create a more stressful version of us in the workplace?

Our relationship to news is a touchy subject for some.

Many people are defensive of their news consumption - “it’s essential” and “I need to be informed” are just two statements you’ll hear from news junkies.

But does general news consumption make us a healthier, more vibrant colleague and team member?

On this episode we discuss the laws of news and stress, outlining just some of the physical impacts constant and regular news consumption can have on us.

When you consider that we consume in excess of 10,000 news stories per year, this episode is one that may be both challenging and empowering.

Coffee, wine and chocolate. Three delicious items most people love - and that most people have tried or are trying to give up.

On this episode of the Laws of Wellness, we discuss the good, the bad, and the stressful of coffee, wine and chocolate.

Is there a good time to give up coffee? How much is too much? Milk or no milk?

We talk about the 5 Golden Rules of Alcohol, which we both observed on Ikaria, the Greek Island known as the “island where people forget to die”.

And chocolate? Well, you’ll just have to tune in to see what we think of that ...

On a serious note, this episode is all about control. If any of coffee, wine and chocolate control you, then that’s a problem.

If you control them, then you’re in a position of wellness.

Diets, supplements and superfoods. Could there be any more confusing trio of topics in the health and wellness world?

Why do we diet? Do they even work? What are the best ones?

Supplements are a multi billion dollar industry and still even the most intelligent among us aren’t sure if they’re expensive urine, an insurance policy, or just a waste of money.

Superfood, meanwhile, wasn’t even a word until the early 2000s ... so what does this somewhat recent trend mean for our health?

All these questions get answered as Marcus puts Damian under the griller on this episode of The Laws of Wellness.
