What Rosie Knows: Life Lessons From A Wise Dog: Recent Episodes

Engaging short stories for children and teens about life, school, relationships, mental health and emotional wellbeing, from an Aussie farm dog. Rosie's stories are set in the Australian bush and reflect life as she sees it on the farm, in the nearby small town, and at the local school. Response-Able is a short story that deals with the issue of taking responsibility. In this story we learn about Shane and the responsibility he holds in his part time job at the local fuel station. We also see how Rosie takes responsibility for certain things as well, even though she is a dog. Rosie discusses the importance of being polite, reliable, and trustworthy. She also tells how she has learnt to have self-discipline, control impulses, and think before she acts.
Issues covered include self-control, behaviour modification, impulsive actions, acting with integrity, and building a reputation for being reliable and trustworthy.

It's Not Fair, is a beautiful tale about Rosie's friend named Bella who has a litter of puppies, and they become a very special part of Rosie's family. Then one day the puppies are picked up by strangers and taken away. This really confuses Rosie and her friend Sir Bud helps Rosie understand the very painful process of love and loss. This sweet story will draw everyone into its emotional web, and even though it deals with a difficult issue, the heart-warming way in which it is told will enchant you and your child.

It's All About Image is a story about body image, what we think about
ourselves, and how we think the world sees us. Rosie has a bent tail so she
describes in the story what it is like to feel that everyone is laughing at her
and that she won't be accepted because she is different.

Wear A Smile, Share A Smile is a story about positive engagement, avoiding conflict, and generally how to get on with others. Once again Miss Polly captures the thoughts and ideals of her therapy dog Rosie perfectly and introduces the students to a dog's eye view of human interaction within the setting of school and home.
This little tale delivers wisdom about interacting with others, recognising social cues, empathy, being kind, and caring for others.
