Despite massive global appeal, Paris remains largely misunderstood by non-French visitors. Images of iconic monuments like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe are frequently sold as cultural capital within the United States, adding to stereotypes of romance, high fashion and coq au vin. In response, Myth of Paris addresses and denounces these one-note depictions, revealing instead the city’s authentic, rich cultural fabric hidden under the shroud of the city’s fantasy.
