The Road to 1M: What I Would (and Wouldn't) Do Again
I just hit 5K followers, 6 years into this business — and I built it past $1M without paid ads. A lot of people will tell you that you need a big following to make real money. You don't. You need to be real, have a proven result, and be clear about how you get there.
In this episode, I'm breaking down exactly what I'd do again (and what I wouldn't) if I wanted to hit another million, faster:

One of my favorite people, Daryn Schwartz, Founder of The Space Between Yoga, and most recently The Space Together, joined me to talk about expanding your business in ways that may feel out of the original business plan. We talked about how Daryn and her business partner took the bold leap from expanding their yoga business into a second location that is a co-working gathering place. Daryn has built an incredible yoga studio with a cult following and is now branching out into a totally different revenue stream. We discussed her expansion and how it came to be, finding the right location, and what's the future for businesses who feel like expanding but not sure the next step.
This was a fantastic conversation and I'm so excited for you to take a listen!

Jennifer Maanavi, Founder and CEO of Physique 57, joined me on the podcast. Physique 57 has been around for 20 years, 20 years! Jennifer has seen a lot including expanding into different countries, selling fitness DVD's, hosting on demand memberships (before that was even a thing), closing multiple studies during covid, and still continuing to operate a thriving boutique fitness business with several locations.
Jennifer wears many hats including being the CEO but also as a business consultant. She understands the value of pivoting business plans, creating an environment where your studio instructors stay long-term, and truly what it takes to grow a major boutique fitness brand.
I personally took a Physique 57 class and it was one of the most challenging mat classes I've ever taken! I love Jennifer and her outlook as a business owner. This conversation was inspiring with so many takeaways. Can't wait for you to listen.

Charlotte and I discussed what it takes to make a membership not only profitable but with low turnover and immensly valuable. We talked about how you can analyze social media stats to understand what your followers enjoy which can spark ideas of how to grow your business. In this solo episode, I’m walking you through exactly what I’d focus on if I wanted to build a sustainable and successful small business in 2026 — without burnout, constant hustle, or overspending on things that don’t actually move the needle.
We’ll talk systems, messaging, local visibility, social media, newsletters, SEO, client appreciation, and audience building — and how these pieces work together to create a business that’s profitable, personal, and built to last.
The best part? Aside from software and a little swag, most of this is free. This is about putting money in your bank account, not just your Stripe dashboard.
If you’re a small business owner who wants growth and longevity — and a business that actually supports your life — this episode is your blueprint.

Love you all! Hope you love this one like I did.

Hey everyone! We have an amazing episode for you today - I was able to sit and chat with Simone De La Rue, CEO and founder of Body By Simone, celebrity trainer, and honestly just amazing female entrepreneur. The episode was so refreshing - Simone's company is coming off of a REALLY hard pandemic year, and her honesty and ability to show up as her authentic self was so so inspiring to me.

I recently caught up with friend and former lululemon ambassador, Regina Smith. I had the opportunity to meet Regina many years ago, and see her shine as she led her community through countless yoga classes at both Lifetime and her own studio, Gritty Buddha. She is also the owner of a coffee shop and local watering hole, The Karmic Grind on Long Island. What we focus on in this episode are the happy accidents that lead us to where we should be, and how unexpected life moments (Car Accidents & Pandemics among many others) force us to pivot.
I love this episode so much, and hope you do, too.

In this episode, we chat with Dianna Falzarano about her fitness experience as well as starting her own business, Dynamic Fitness which she launched the summer of 2020. While we’ve seen many businesses move digital out of necessity, Dianna already had her mind set on starting her own business prior to the pandemic. If you know Dianna, she’s always kept busy working at multiple gyms and studios, handling marketing for the likes of SoulCycle, as well as privately training her own clients.
Dianna was kind enough to share with us her list of must-haves for her business. Take note if you’re looking to get started yourself:

WOW. Guys, this episode is everything I needed to hear and so much more. Anne is so powerful, such an amazing advocate for what she believes in, and shares her side of the 2020 story. She's an incredible businesswoman, building over 70 [solidcore] locations in six years, and is an advocate for underserved communities (she founded Back On My Feet, a nonprofit that serves homeless communities through physical activity). I was so inspired by our conversation that I knew this one needed to be published early, in the event one of you listeners needed to hear this conversation as much as I did.

Hey everyone! Super excited for you to hear this episode. I've been getting a lot of questions about what it takes to get investors in your brand, so here's your answer! Ed Buckley and I sat down and talked about what it's been like to build Peerfit over the past ten years, and it's truly a great conversation. Ed is super knowledgable on the subject, but also just has a great attitude towards brand building in general. I hope you love it, and don't forget to subscribe and share with a friend!

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for joining me today. I am so incredibly honored to bring you an episode with Kelsey J. Patel today - I had actually hear her speak on another podcast earlier this year (The Blonde Files Podcast), and the episode was so transformational for me. She actually spoke a lot about being a lululemon ambassador, which if you’ve been listening for a while now, you know lululemon was the start of my health and wellness journey.
I incorrectly introduced her as a global ambassador - she’s actually a regional ambassador - but I believe in her message so strongly and know that global is in her goals, so I’m keeping my incorrect intro in the episode.
I was really excited to talk to Kelsey because she’s an expert in burnout - how to avoid it, how to identify it, and how it’s not a one size fits all condition. I can say pretty confidently that All of you guys listening are involved in the health & wellness world somehow, so burnout is especially tough when wellness is our literal job. It almost feels like we shouldn’t feel it, because we’re experts in wellness… just me?
I hope you guys love the episode - and please remember to rate and subscribe - it goes a long way and I am so so appreciative when you do.

Hey everyone! Welcome back to The Friday Society! I hope you’re all having a good week, and am so excited to bring you today’s episode. We sat down with Marissa West and Heidi Hillman, the CEO and COO of Charlotte’s CULT favorite workout studio, West Kept Secret. I have been hearing about them and this workout for a long time - and when Olivia Culpo started posting about it, I knew I needed to talk to them.
Marissa West has an awesome story and is such an inspiration. She’s super kind, and really just lives for her client transformations. We hear about how she went from being a 21 year old tech recruiter, so her just saying F it, starting me own workout is what I need to do. It’s really an awesome story, and I hope you love it!

In today’s episode, we have Ceasar F. Barajas on The Friday Society, and it’s a really special one. Ceasar is an old friend, we met at lululemon about seven years ago, and we get into this but he was actually a professional dancer and actor at the time, and has gone on to star in Hollywood productions, become an adjunct professor at Columbia, and most recently launched The Journey by Ceasar, where he helps people with their meditation practice.
I do want to mention that this episode is particularly special because it’s going live on the one year anniversary of COVID-19 becoming declared a pandemic. Ceasar, as most of us have as well, has lost loved ones this past year and I want to honor that, and their memory.
With that said, I want to issue a trigger warning for this episode. Ceasar is a veteran, so we talk a lot about PTSD and it’s effects, sexual abuse, big and little T trauma, and loss during 2020.
I hope if you’re going through a hard time, this episode helps you in knowing you’re not alone, and I am here and Ceasar is here to listen and talk with you.

Hi guys! I’m thrilled to bring you today’s episode with Gabby Cohen. Gabby was the 5th employee at SoulCycle, their first hire in the marketing department, and was a really integral part of turning the brand into the household name that it is today. She has had a really amazing career, and after 8 years at Soul, went on to her role as Chief Brand Officer at Rent the Runway, and is now leading marketing for Harry’s new launch, Headquarters. We talk a lot about how good marketing and hospitality go hand in hand, what it was like in those early days, and how SoulCycle was able to effectively scale, and whether or not good press has to be bought. She also gives us some amazing tips for securing good press, and if there’s anyone I will take PR tips from, its Gabby. If you’re interested in the early story of SoulCycle, how to build a brand, or the marketing industry as a whole, you’ll want to listen to this one.
You’ll notice that the theme of retention comes up a LOT for us in this episode, so I wanted to make sure you all have access to the retention worksheets in the marketing manual I created. We chatted about the fear of building your entire product on one platform - the girls have over 106K followers on Instagram and base most of their product placements there, launching a platform, and the pressure to become fitness instructors themselves.
