CIO Update at UM: Recent Episodes

In today's CIO update, I provide quick updates on our datacenter migration, Slate CRM implementation, Web team projects, classroom-tech info, and some personnel updates. Additionally, I talk about our Zoom retention policy, highlight an IT FUEL project, and say kudos to Dan Bowling for receiving the ADA Award. Lastly, in the Employee Spotlight, Lindsey Peterson joins me to discuss the work she is doing with Office of Student Success and her involvement with EAB Navigate.
In today's brief CIO update, I share some personnel updates within IT, discuss my desire for a strong IT security presence on campus, and continue my vision for FUEL values.
In today's CIO update, I discuss several unplanned outages that impacted UM, updates on some projects, ATS's new location, Employee Spotlight with Jordan Lyman (Enrollment Technology), and a brief conversation surrounding customer service in IT.
In today's CIO update, I will be giving brief updates on: UMonline/IT collaboration, retirement of old systems, Argos pilot, and an update with Math IT support. Additionally, I mention an update on the web redesign, recent efforts in research computing, and an employee spotlight conversation with Kathy Garramone (Accessible Technologies).
In today's CIO update, I will be giving brief updates on: L&C wireless upgrade, an IT and Financial Aid office joint project, a conversation with the Diversity Planning committee, and recent changes across the divide at MSU. Additionally, I mention the IT@UM Microsoft teams channel, an IT status page project (FUEL), and an employee spotlight and conversation with Scott Christensen (Classroom Technology).
Today's CIO update will be a little bit different from previous updates. I will share IT's FY21 strategic initiatives and provide an update on IT's security program to explain: what they are, what they mean, and how it will impact UM. These are high-level overviews and there are many different objectives and action plans under each initiatives. Additionally, I will share several projects that are involved with these initiatives.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and New Years. In today's CIO update, I will give a brief update on some recent outages and projects, introduce a new segment called "Employee Spotlight", discuss the IT website redesign, FUEL values, and one good thing. These updates will be moving to a bi-weekly format for the Spring semester.
