For the first episode after the re-brand, The Cross Factor proudly presents, the boys from Pride Performance!

.

Josh Walters and Josh Tueta have both played illustrious careers in the QBL/NBL1 competition and all over the world. What makes this episode especially fascinating, is lets just say, that these two players haven't always been a referees best friend.

.

Their insights from a players perspective are invaluable. I believe these kinds of conversations will change the game for the better. Referees and players alike should both tune in to this episode to see us learn from each other, find a common ground and also just straight up have fun!

Slightly left field of my usual episodes, this is for EVERYONE to listen to. You don’t have to know the first thing about refereeing or basketball. I had to do it though, because Jeannot’s story is one which YOU deserve to hear, and since I have a platform & podcast, I simply couldn’t miss the opportunity to give him a voice to share his inspiring story and message. Hear Jeannot speak on his experience with poverty, his scary encounters with war on his doorstep, navigating a new country without speaking the language at 13 years old all the way to now, having received a full scholarship from Yale University.Jeannot Basima is just an underdog kid from Congo, who gives me faith in humanity. He is wise beyond his years and has a heart of gold. Really, truly, try to hear his message, and recognise the struggles being faced in Congo. Lets build this awareness, in order to be of support and service. HOW CAN YOU HELP? Here is a go fund me link to support and build the very programs that gave Jeannot the opportunity to chase his dreams, and with our assistance will bring hope and opportunity to many more: https://gofund.me/94a77c59 Additionally, here is a sensational and eye opening documentary (which I implore you to watch) which further delves into Jeannot's journey through PJB basketball to the USA: https://youtu.be/rWCAoOPp8UE Follow Jeannot’s journey into the future by following him, @jeannot_basima, and keep him and his hometown in your thoughts/prayers in the hope that they can thrive as we do.Peace.

My good friend Mikey Mike McDaniel began reffing at 47 years young, is already on the verge of NBL1 and came away with 8 awards last year alone. YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/@behindthewhistle Bold Opinion - This is the most powerful podcast episode IN THE WORLD for referees in any sport (so far 😜). I don't care if Joe Rogan has interviewed referees or what - this is the one. .Matt O'Brien is a world class rugby union referee. He refereed 5 seasons (181 games) of the rugby 7's World Series (of which only 8 referees in the world are selected to officiate). Matt's more than vast experience within the game and in life bring with him an enormous amount of knowledge and wisdom for us to capitalise on in this episode. .We get deep into the psychology of refereeing and cover a whole lot in a short time. This is one of those episodes you'll want to hear twice and get out your pen and paper for 🤓. .Thank you to Matt for generously donating his time to help the future of sports officiating 🙏.

Madi is having a very successful WNBL officiating career thus far, and she doesn't seem to be slowing down! We need more people like Murphy. I learned a lot from her, she provoked my thought, I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.
