Have you ever gotten pushback on something that was really important to you?

When you choose to put your work into the world, you are 100% allowing the world to make a decision about whether or not they like your work, and sometimes that comes with feedback, criticism or pushback. So in this episode of It’s All BS we’re diving into what to do when that happens.

We talk about:
🔹 The difference between criticism and pushback and why those don’t make someone a “hater”
🔹 Recognizing the personal lens and funnel of perception
🔹 4 real life examples of pushback I’ve faced
🔹 Why you shouldn’t take it personally

We can respect criticism or pushback, but when it happens around something that we really believe in, they can take a seat in the back and just watch it happen. 🔥

Procrastination is something that many of us struggle with. Sometimes there are things we want to try or start, but we keep putting it off and putting it off. Maybe it’s doing more hiking and camping, learning to crochet, or incorporating meditation into our daily routines. Whatever it is, we put it off, and then before we know it, another year has passed without doing the thing we want to do.

In business there are many different things that can lead you to procrastinate. So in this episode of It’s All BS, we’re diving into why you should get your hiney in the chair.

We talk about:
🔹 The #1 thing that can get in the way of trying to do our creative thing
🔹 Why now is the time to bet on yourself
🔹 Letting go of perfectionism
🔹 Why you have to participate if you want it to happen

It’s time to stop putting things off and go get what you want. ✨

We’re switching things up a bit today and talking about something that’s a little different than usual.

Everywhere in our lives we are surrounded by beauty images that sell the ideal of beauty: what we define as beauty and how we see it. This is what you need to look like to feel and to be beautiful, and we’re all supposed to be skinny with a perfect body. 🙄

Lately there has been a lot of buzz around a medication injection for weight loss called Wegovy, and everyone seems to have an opinion about it. Many people have taken it with great success, but there has also been push back and a certain stigma around weight loss resulting from this medication.

Often the same people who criticize people for being overweight are the same ones who criticize them for losing weight through the aid of this medication. In this episode of It’s All BS, we’re diving into why you can't have it both ways.

We talk about:
🔹 Recognizing our programming
🔹 Why getting help is not cheating
🔹 How there is no winning with some people
🔹 Why we should stay in our own lane

Have you heard of Wegovy or known anyone who has taken it? I’d love to hear what you think!

Sometimes people are put specifically in your world at the exact right time.

I was introduced to my song-writer friend Carrie through some friends. She was very talented, and I knew she needed to be around people who could make her even sharper. Around that same time, my other friend Joel was looking for a new writer to invite to his retreat, and I shared with him that she would be a great fit. She went, and it basically changed her entire life.

Carrie won her very first BMI award this week. 🎉 BMI awards are prestigious awards based on the amount of plays your song received in a year.

Her achievements are all her own, but I feel so amazingly humbled that I got to make those connections and she got to live out something that she dreamed about.

So in this episode of It’s All BS, I’m sharing why you should go ahead and be a bridge.

We talk about:
🔹 What it means to be a bridge
🔹 Being a part of a community
🔹 Building relationships organically
🔹 Perfecting your craft

One of the best feelings you will ever have is the humility that comes with knowing you had a part in someone’s dream coming true. 💕

What would our business and lives be like if we looked through the lens of simplicity?
Are we making things more difficult than they need to be?
Are we doing too many things?
Can it be more simple?

In today’s episode of It’s All BS we talk about:
🔹 What can you take off your list
🔹 Being more conscientious
🔹 How simpler could make you feel
🔹 Finding mental balance

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on simplicity and what that means to you. Does it sound better or worse?

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, I want to talk about something that I have experienced personally, and I know it affects all of us, especially brand-new coaches trying to build their business.

You want to build your business, and you want to keep doing things you love. You get online and see everyone talk about how good everything is.

But what if you are doing everything you know how to do, putting everything you have into it, and it’s still not working?

In this episode we talk about:
🔹 Why it’s not working
🔹 Paying attention to the behind-the-scenes things
🔹 Why you don’t have to make yourself wrong
🔹 How social media is curated
🔹 Why it’s ok to change your mind

Always remember, this is yours. You get to do whatever you want with it. 💕

I work a lot in the online space and coaching industry. If you come to me with a dream, I’m going to help you chase it. And I don’t want you to make the same mistakes that I have made and have seen others make.

There has been a recent shift in the online space, and I have been noticing some things that are just not ok.

So in today’s episode of It’s All BS, I’m sharing 3 important lessons you should learn right now.

We talk about:
🔹 A recent rift in the online space and how it relates to you
🔹 Why knowing less is better
🔹 Having gratitude for the one who brought you to the table
🔹 What to do when you screw up

Whatever it is that you are going through and however it needs to play out, just be careful about what you say and how you behave, because chances are, at some point it’s going to come back around.  You want to make sure that you’ve made your decisions with care and thoughtfulness.

What comes to mind when you hear the word “servant”? What about “leader”?

When I hear the word servant, I can’t help but think of Downton Abbey. 😏 The staff was in so much service to the residents and their guests. Their entire job revolved around someone else and making sure that they looked good.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the application of those two words and where we fall within that spectrum of servant or leader in life and in business.

So in today’s episode of It’s All BS, we’re exploring… servant or leader: which one are you?

We talk about:
🔹 How successful businesses start out
🔹 Something more important than money in business
🔹 How serving yourself can serve others
🔹 How everybody can flourish

Think about where you want to be, where you are, and how you can make sure that you are excelling and showing up the best that you can every single day. Then also invite whoever else you are working with to show up in that exact same way.

P.S. "I'm with stupid." Still makes me laugh.

The other day I was waiting in the car while a friend went into the store. We were parked near a very busy intersection, and I was just watching out the window as I waited. Across the many lanes of traffic, I noticed a young guy walking down the sidewalk wearing big, noise canceling headphones. As he walked, I kept waiting for him to look behind him or look around for people or cars or anything he might need to be aware of. For the entire time that he was in my line of sight, he did not so much as glance over his shoulder to see if someone was behind him.

It really got me thinking about what a fascinatingly different experience this guy has than a lot of my female friends and I have. I would never in a million years put on noise canceling headphones and walk down the street or anywhere without being able to hear my surroundings. And it started to make me angry that I have to have those thoughts of safety when other people don’t. I was starting to worry about why I didn’t have what somebody else had.

We tend to do this in life, in business, and in relationships. So in today’s episode of It’s All BS, we’re discussing why you will be happier when you stop watching other people.

We talk about:
🔹 Staying in your own lane
🔹 How to keep your brain safe from needing to compare
🔹 Understanding your unique abilities and YOU-ness
🔹 Why following someone else’s path will not get you the same things

You’re doing an amazing job being you, and I promise with all my heart that no one can be as good at being you as YOU. 💕

Often, in the many facets of our life, we face mountains. Sometimes when we face it, we know that if we can just scale that mountain, we’re going to get to the other side, and it’s going to be awesome. We may face valleys, but we will press on. And then there will be other mountains to climb. So we continue on, one foot in front of the other.

Sometimes you face a mountain so high, the top may even be hidden from your view. The path may look steep and rocky. You may not even see a place to take your next step. But what if your mountain could speak? What if the obstacle you are facing was an entity that could actually encourage you?

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, we’re discussing your mountain, and why you should keep climbing.

We talk about:
🔹 Enjoying the view from the top
🔹 Shifting your perspective
🔹 Allowing your “mountain” to cheer you on
🔹 How you get to choose where you are

Sometimes when you are climbing, it really is just you and the mountain. This is your road to walk. Your mountain and I will be cheering for you. 💕

When I got my first job, I was so excited to just be there. But whether or not I thought about it at that time, my employer and I had entered into a partnership.

When we are in a partnership, whether business or relationship, there is give and take. We look at what you can provide to me and what I can provide to you in order to make this an equal exchange. Everyone needs each other on the same level.

But what happens if things start to feel out of balance? This has come up in conversations with several clients lately. So today we’re diving in to find out if you are playing offense or defense with your clients.

We talk about:
🔹 What does it mean to be on the offensive or defensive
🔹 Respecting the partnership line
🔹 Power dynamic shifts
🔹 How to keep the partnership going

Are you playing offense or defense with your business, or are you honoring the partnership and encouraging and inviting your client to also honor the partnership. Everything gets so much simpler when everyone is working in partnership, and everyone is working towards the same goal within the partnership. 💕

Today I’m doing something a little different. If you are familiar with me or this podcast, then you probably know that I am a song writer. There is a particular song that I wrote that has been coming up a lot lately. The song was written as kind of a theme song for a book that I love called The Funeral Dress by Susan Greg Gilmore.

I know several friends and acquaintances who are dealing with grief and loss. There are a lot of times where I think we need to make sure that we are truly holding each other up. When we have a moment where we can speak into somebody or help somebody along, I really believe we need to take those opportunities to share experiences.

So today I am actually going to play you a song. I thought that maybe we could all listen to this one and just be reminded that we are in this together. 💕

Hello Beautifuls! There are lessons to be learned all throughout life. Last week we talked about things we can learn from timeshare salespeople. This week I’ve been thinking about things we can learn from the people we know and also about the lessons I have learned myself, not just in sales, but in creativity and in my own life.

In this episode of It’s All BS, I want to talk to you about 3 lessons I've learned so you don't have to.

We talk about:
🔹 Gathering data
🔹 Why you shouldn’t become dependent on feedback from others
🔹 Valuing yourself and your energy
🔹 How persistence pays off

I’m sharing these lessons, so that you can take some of this information and apply it to your own life. Maybe it will spark something, and maybe you will be able to recognize some things in your own life that could potentially change. 💕

Recently, I was asked by a new friend about a timeshare. When it comes to timeshares, I know people on both sides of the debate, those who love them and those who have tried everything to try to get out of them. I also know people who think timeshare associates are complete slime, and all the salespeople are disgusting. There is an entire circle around this, and I’m not here to convince you either way. It makes no difference to me, and it’s really beside the point.

However, in order to share this lesson with you, I want to tell you about my recent experience… how it came about, how it ended, and all the things in between.

In this episode we talk about:
🔹 What it means to leverage relationships
🔹 Things to notice about sales techniques
🔹 Recognizing emotional manipulation
🔹 When people don’t respect your “no”
🔹 How NOT to do sales

When I looked at it all and all the parts of that experience, I thought about how a lot of us work for ourselves. We’re responsible for the marketing, and for the sales, and for the follow-ups. It comes straight down to us. And there is a way to do it to get the people that you want to work with, a way to keep people neutral, and a way to repel people. Decide before you get into it which one you want to be.

This is going to be short and to the point today. Just a few days after burying 3 children and 3 adults after a mass shooting here in Nashville, there was another mass shooting in a bank in Louisville.

Meanwhile, our governor in Tennessee is focusing on banning drag queens “to protect the children”.

My heart is heavy, so today, I offer you all I have.

Hello Beautifuls! Welcome to It’s All BS, the podcast about success and mindset where I’m on a mission to help you get unhooked from what’s keeping you from having the life you want.

If you follow me on social media, you may have seen a simple quote that I made and decided to sprinkle in here and there. I first put it out a few years ago, and I share it from time to time. What’s interesting is how many people have reached out on the days I have shared it and thanked me because they needed to hear that. The people who are supposed to see it, see it on that day.

So in todays’ episode I’m sharing the main secret I tell my clients, and this just may be the message you need to hear today.

We talk about:
🔹 Feeling like we need permission and encouragement to proceed
🔹 Finding your own pace
🔹 Why it doesn’t matter what it looks like to anyone else
🔹 The key to the entire journey

You are awesome, and I hope this helps you and encourages you to keep going! 💕

Last year I saw a solo artist on America’s Got Talent that really blew me away. He had the perfect marriage of voice, writing, melody, and the whole thing. I looked him up online and saw that he was actually the lead singer of a band called the Nicotine Dolls who just so happened to be making their first stop on tour in Nashville.

I wasn’t sure how well he would transfer from solo artist to band but decided to go see them perform. When I heard the entire band together, it was perfect. He was crazy talented on his own, but when you add the band, the background vocals, and the musicians, his voice was perfect with it.

You may be fantastic on your own. You may be crazy talented. You may be that person who stands out. But in today’s episode of It’s All BS, we’re talking about why you need the people around you to shine.

We discuss:
🔹 Why you need the right people around you
🔹 How things can be even better than you expect them to be
🔹 Creating the whole package
🔹 Supporting those who support you

I encourage you to make sure that the people in your life are absolutely doing the very best that they can do, that they are supporting you however you need to be supported, and that you are also supporting them. 💕

And if you haven’t heard of the Nicotine Dolls, go check them out on TikTok and Instagram!

Hello Beautifuls! I have a very special guest today, and I’m excited for you to meet Eileen West, my first scholarship recipient.

Eileen found out about me and my scholarship from a mutual friend and decided to apply. She didn’t know me, and she didn’t think she would win, but she decided to take a chance anyway. Now, Eileen and I have been working together for several years, and today Eileen is a successful transformational mindset coach for women at The Mind-Body Badass.

In this episode we talk about:
🔹 How Eileen’s transformations started by cleaning off her desk
🔹 Creating evidence for yourself
🔹 Why you shouldn’t get discouraged if you don’t succeed on the first try
🔹 How there is never a “good time” to start
🔹 Overcoming limiting beliefs

Here’s what Eileen had to say about her experience as a scholarship winner: “The Principles that I have learned from you are applicable in every part of life, not just in business or losing 20 pounds. It’s applicable everywhere.”Eileen is truly a badass and such an inspiration! When you put something out there - whether your life, your clothes, your personality, whatever – you are telling a story to the people around you about who you are. And your "story" may be different depending on where you are and what you're doing. You are a narrator for that particular moment or day.

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, we discuss what it means to be the narrator of your own life.

We talk about:
🔹 Being cognizant of the impression you are leaving
🔹 How you get to choose what you put out each day
🔹 Staying in your own lane
🔹 Discovering your “in between”

It’s easy to get lost in keeping up, but we really should be true to ourselves. 💕

Last week we talked about what it’s like to actually listen and what you could learn from really listening. I’m back this week to give you some things to think about as you strengthen this skill.

This world was not built for people with disabilities in mind. And even when people are trying to have different representations of minority groups, disabled persons are often overlooked.

That doesn’t mean that the world should drop everything to accommodate me or others with disabilities, however there are things that do come up that people often do not consider.

In this episode of It’s All BS we’re diving into ableism and what I'd like you to know about it.

We’ll talk about:
🔹 The lesser known “-ism”
🔹 Preferences VS accommodations
🔹 Mind management
🔹 Becoming aware of microaggressions

It’s important to have a logical discussion as we become even more conscientious about other people’s experiences in life. I associate with people who are trying to make the world better, and I know that’s you too. So let’s give it some thought. 💕

A couple of weeks ago I had an incredibly embarrassing and frustrating thing happen to me. As you may know, I have a foot that is fused in the walking position. When I go down stairs, it requires precise balance and placement of my foot to navigate that.

On this particular evening, I was leaving a writers’ night in downtown Nashville, and I did not properly place my foot while going down the stairs, causing me to tumble down the steps and hit my head on the concrete. The ambulance came, and I went to the hospital. It was a whole big thing. I’m fine now, but here’s the problem... I tried to explain the situation, but everyone had already decided the truth of who I am and what had happened. Nothing I said made any difference.

I don’t like this story, but I’m telling you because I think it’s important that we discuss it. So often many of us are told things that are not true, and we’re expected to believe things because everyone else says they are true. But in today’s episode of It’s All BS, I want you to consider, what could you learn if you just listened?

We talk about:
🔹 How just because we have a preconceived notion about someone or something, it doesn’t mean we’re right
🔹 How we can tend to ignore our own work because of the “truths” others say about us
🔹 How you can decide when you want to keep fighting for something and when you want to give yourself a mental rest
🔹 Recognizing when we do this to each other

Always consider all the options, listen quietly when people are trying to tell you something, and then make your decision. Never make a decision until you have all the facts. And whatever you do, Beautifuls, practice your listening skills. 💕

Things get hard. Life gets complicated. But just because things are hard, it doesn’t mean you quit.

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, I’m sharing a personal journey and experience where things felt very hard for me. Anger over my mom’s battle with cancer and her death started to impact my ability to write songs and threatened my writing deal. But even through all that, I knew I was not quitting.

In this episode we talk about:
🔹 What happens when things feel hard
🔹 Deciding not to quit
🔹 The transition that can happen on the other side of “hard”

Whatever it is that you’re doing, whenever it gets hard, whenever you’re not even sure what you’re supposed to do… remember, Beautifuls, just because things feel hard, that doesn’t mean it’s time to quit.

This time of year, there is a lot of talk about goals, but I think the word “goal” seems so far out there. You have to attain a goal, so it kind of leaves an emptiness between now and the goal.

I like to think about things more like mile markers, like when you’re driving down the freeway. You know where you’re going, but there are markers all along the way dividing up your trip. You know you can make it from here to there, because there are small steps with tangible markers. And all those things around you, all those markers, they are also cues that let you know where you are.

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, I want to talk to you about creating “markers” for yourself and why clearing your desk matters for success.

We talk about:
🔹 What a standstill marker is
🔹 How to create a visual cue to what’s going on in your brain
🔹 How this visual evidence can help you recognize when things are out of balance
🔹 Why it’s important to be conscious of the environments we put ourselves in

Your environment and your mind will work together. They are both on your side, but they are looking for leadership. Lead them. Lead your brain, and lead your environment. Everyone is on the same team, but you’re the coach.

I’ve been thinking about my childhood lately. Looking back there are a couple of things that I did when I was little, and it’s funny how those things have come back around recently.

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, I’m sharing three of my favorite childhood stories and the lessons I learned then that are relevant today.

We talk about:
🔹 Why you should always be the person you want to see in the world
🔹 How even the best stories fall apart
🔹 Why you shouldn’t assume you know what anyone else is thinking and take action on that
🔹 How I was living up to my initials 😉

Being self-aware matters in life and in business. I’m here to tell you, I’ll make the mistake for you. And if I’ve made the mistake, there is no reason you should do it too. I’ve got your back. 💕

Hello Beautifuls! Happy 2023! 🎉

I’ve been thinking about things that I’ve noticed throughout the year. It is so unfortunate that we have to talk about our wins in terms of numbers and monetary gains. I am all about claiming financial wins, whether it’s five dollars or five hundred thousand dollars. But I think that with my clients, the wins are about things that are much more farther reaching in terms of changing someone’s life.

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, we’re talking about client wins which aren’t about money and the things that don’t get as publicly celebrated.

We discuss:
🔹 Celebrating big wins that are specific to you
🔹 How there is so much that goes on behind the scenes
🔹 Moving forward one step at a time
🔹 Why it’s about the mindset not the money

Most people are drawn to huge numbers and financial gains, but just remember that there is a person behind every number or result.

Online dating can be so one-dimensional. You look at a photo that was taken at the perfect angle, in the perfect light that shows exactly what the other person wants you to see. But people are so much more than a carefully curated photo or profile.

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, I want to share a personal experience with you and what I learned from it.

We talk about:
🔹 Gross marketing tactics to avoid at all costs
🔹 Building meaningful relationships
🔹 Creating genuine connections without looking for how it can benefit you
🔹 Investing in people

When you invest in other humans, you will get more out of this entire life and this entire experience that we’re having than if you’re only being a “taker”.  So let’s pour into each other and into humanity. There are a lot of us out there who are truly committed to that. 💕

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, we’re talking about deciding who you want to be and what kind of effect you want to leave on the world. And why does that matter now?

You are put here with your specific skills, your specific abilities, and your spheres of influence and circles of references. You’re here with all of those things that you can do that nobody else does. I believe that those are the actual things that we should choose to use to their fullest potential so that we're filling the world with us and what we want to see in the world and leaving behind something a little bit better for having been there.

In this episode we discuss:
🔹 Living your best life
🔹 Why we should pay attention when someone tells us we’re good at something
🔹 What is the ripple effect
🔹 How you can impact another person’s life and never even know it

I want to encourage you to consider what you want to leave behind, not the physical things, but the parts of you that you put into the world. How do you want to live? Who do you want to be? We really do get a say in it. 💕

Hello Beautifuls! In today’s episode of It’s All BS, I want to talk about the most joyous and uplifting topic, so put on your happy pants. 😉 Today we’re talking about anxiety and depression. I always try to be transparent and very upfront and open about this topic, and that’s why I decided to go ahead and talk about it today.

If you deal with this or know someone who deals with this, I just want you to know that this does not make you (or them) “less than”. It’s just part of the chemical makeup of us.

In this episode we talk about:
🔹 Why it’s so important to be cognizant of our mental health
🔹 How talking and being open about it creates a community of support
🔹 Why there is ZERO shame in taking medication
🔹 Why managing your body is as important as managing your thoughts

This is your reminder today. I want to tell you that you’re ok, and there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed about. If you forget that, you can just reach out to me, and I will remind you. We are not ashamed of this!

Hello Beautifuls! In today’s episode of It’s All BS, I want to talk to you about people who suck your energy. We’ll call them energy suckers. 😉

So, what do you do if you have a friendship in your life that just requires so much out of you because of whatever it is that the other person has been through? How can you show compassion and empathy for them and still protect your sanity?

In this episode we discuss:
🔹 Why we shouldn’t try to diagnose other people
🔹 How we can have compassion for what someone is going through and still not tolerate being treated a certain way
🔹 Why establishing boundaries is so incredibly important
🔹 How to step back and evaluate when enough is enough
🔹 Why breaking up with a friend is ok (and how to do it with love and compassion)

Sometimes you reach a point in a friendship where it is no longer a healthy or safe place for you to be. I hope that you are not in this situation, but if you are, then this episode is for you. 💕

In today’s episode of It’s All BS, I want to talk to you about “haters”. This subject has been coming up a lot lately, and some of my clients are afraid of pushback when they talk or type on the internet.

A lot of us are present on social media. Whether for business, marketing, fun, friendship, or whatever your reason is, social media has become a very large part of most of our lives. So, what do you do when someone leaves you a review, feedback, or comment that you feel is negative?

In this episode we talk about:
🔹 The four ways that we can handle haters
🔹 Why it’s so important to choose how you want to react before you experience pushback
🔹 How being cognizant of your options can help you
🔹 Why there is no “right” or “wrong” way to react

As we get more and more into a social media society, how we choose to respond to haters is something to think about. Some people are just jerks, so figure your stuff out before they come for you.

Hello Beautifuls and welcome to today's episode of It’s All BS: A Success Podcast!

It is important for us as people, particularly as artists, creatives, writers, and dreamers, to remember that how we present ourselves to the world and the words we put on a page create an impression. But once it’s out there, you don’t get to make any disclaimers.

People don’t know your story. They don’t see the blood, sweat, and tears that went into it, and they don’t care about all the back stuff. At that point it’s all about them as the listener or consumer and how your impression relates to them.

So what if people think your “baby” is ugly?

In this episode we talk about:
🔹 How people view things from their own personal perspective
🔹 Why another person’s perspective is not always the truth about you
🔹 How your level of confidence in yourself affects how you react to naysayers
🔹 Why what people say to you or about you isn’t necessarily about youIf you ever find yourself getting overly upset or overly bothered by something someone said about your “baby” and you want to defend it, this episode is for you.

Hello Beautifuls! Welcome to another episode of It’s All BS!

Today I want to talk to you about something that comes up a lot as a song writer, working with a lot of creatives, and in coaching people. Often, people want to be something… an artist, an entrepreneur, a writer, a singer.

Whatever it is that you want to be, there is an important key to achieving your goal that I want you to know.

We talk about:
🔹 Why no one is waiting on you and why that’s a good thing.
🔹 How you get to decide who you are
🔹 Why you don’t need permission
🔹 The power of introducing yourself as you what you decide to be
🔹 Why the world needs your unique you-ness

Whatever it is that you want to be, just be it. Don’t wait for permission. Be your own entity. We need you and everything that is uniquely you.  💕

Hello Beautifuls and welcome to It’s All BS: A Success Podcast!

Has anyone ever told you that one day you will “get there”? Or maybe you have said it to yourself, “One day I will get there, and I will keep plugging away until it happens.”

As a creative person, whether you’re an entrepreneur creating a business, a music person, author, or any creative work that you’re doing, you’re never going to get there.

Today I want to talk to you about why you’ll never get “there” and why that's okay.

We discuss:
🔹 Attributes of creative people
🔹 Reflecting on your early work
🔹 How getting “there” isn’t what you expect
🔹 The price we pay for getting better

As we get better in whatever it is that we’re doing, we imagine getting even better. The discrepancy between we now and what we want to be only widens as we improve. So, I would like to invite you to make peace with the fact that you will never get “there”. And that’s okay.

Hello Beautifuls, and welcome to today’s episode of It’s All BS!

We have a tendency as humans to make things way more complicated than they need to be, but you can make things simple for yourself.  Everything doesn't have to be so hard. Today I wanted to talk to you about why working backward can actually move you forward.

We discuss:
🔹  What it means to work backward
🔹  Some relatable examples of how this process works
🔹  How to apply this method to your life and your dreams
🔹  Why this makes achieving your goals so much simpler

So if you have a goal, somewhere you want to be, or something you want to do or achieve, whatever that is, I invite you to try working backward to create your plan. Then just do it. Follow the plan, and do the thing!

Hello and welcome to Episode 2 of Season 2: It’s ALL BS! Today I want to talk to you about being authentically you. There is a standard of measure that I have been using for 20 years called the So-What Factor.

You can dress yourself up the way you want people to see you. You can say and do all the right things. But often what is missing is the so-what factor. If you are just a clone of the person beside you and the person before you, then “So what?” Who really cares? It’s the same thing. What’s missing is YOU!

We talk about:

🔹 How to apply the so-what factor in your life and business

🔹 Why you should put yourself through this test often

🔹 Recognizing your own skills, abilities, and sphere of reference

🔹 What makes things interesting

You are authentically you, and you are made for such a time as this. As you’re going into your next venture or whatever your next thing is where you need to stand out and where you don’t need to copy someone else, I invite you to consider, what is your so-what factor?

Today we’re talking about having someone absolutely, unapologetically on your team. It’s important for you to have people on your team who will be cheering you on, interceding for you, and working to make everything good that they want for you possible. And it’s also important for you to be that person for someone else.

We’ll talk about:

🔹 My champion and how having her on my team has affected my entire life

🔹 What it’s like to have someone believing in you that hard

🔹 Recognizing the people who have your back no matter what

🔹 The benefits of being absolutely, unapologetically on someone else’s team too

Thank you for being on my team and hanging with me with this podcast. I will see you in Season 2. 🎉 Until then, thanks for being awesome!

Hello Beautifuls! Today we’re building on last week’s episode which was about why you should never give up on your passion. But what happens when you’re pursuing that passion with everything you have, and nothing seems to be happening? What do you do when you’re just so tired of trying, and you just wanna quit?

I’m here to share some things that I have been through in my life that may help you as you’re pursuing whatever it is in your life that you love.

We’ll talk about:

🔹 Feeling like the desire and passion you have been given is just not coming to fruition

🔹 My prayer to God (and his answer)

🔹 Sometimes it’s going to feel awful

🔹 How the pieces are being put in place, even if it doesn’t feel like it and even if you can’t see it yet

Pursuing your passion isn’t always easy, but I challenge you to keep the faith that everything is already being put into place so that you will have more success and joy and love and happiness than you can even comprehend.

Welcome to Episode #50 of Money BS! Today we’re talking about relentlessly pursuing your passion. I don’t believe that most of us only have one passion, and we can be passionate about several things at once. However, there are some things that just can’t go away and absolutely will not get off your heart. You just know it is meant for you.

For me that passion is being a song writer. The fire and love for music was put in me from a very early age, but the journey from there to where I am today was definitely not in a nice, neat, straight line.

So today I’m sharing my story, and I hope it gives you some motivation and encouragement.

In this episode we’ll talk about:

🔹 How I discovered my passion

🔹 What it’s like to be on the outside looking in

🔹 Overcoming obstacles and rejection

🔹 How pursuing your passion doesn’t always look the way you expect it to

🔹 Why persistence is key

You have a passion for a reason. Never doubt it, and always be open to allowing it to fulfill you in whatever way it’s supposed to, even if it doesn’t look the way you think it should.

I want to talk today about something you don’t often hear of on a podcast, but it’s something that I feel is really important to talk about.

As much as we want to curate a positive outlook and to be positive for the people around us, the truth is that not every moment is positive. A lot of times, getting to the next thing can feel hard. Sometimes we may have to figure out why it’s hard while we’re in the middle of trying to do it.

When we are taking our next steps, we start right now where we are and step forward, but sometimes the action we are taking doesn't really feel like an action.

In today’s episode we’ll talk about:

🔹 Why you should put yourself in a position where you have to feel whatever it is that you’re afraid of
🔹 The difference between tangible and intangible action (and why intangible action can be as important, if not more important, than tangible action)
🔹 Why it’s so powerful to know that we can feel anything
🔹 How in order for flowers to grow, the dirt actually has to move (and how that relates to you 😉)

Good day, Beautifuls! I want to talk to you today about how giving yourself permission can lead to HUGE success.

When we are trying to do something new or unfamiliar or trying to accomplish a goal that we have not yet accomplished, what often holds us back is not giving ourselves permission to truly succeed.

In this episode we’ll talk about how to:

🔹 Give yourself permission and walk forward in complete confidence

🔹 Make things happen just by deciding to

🔹 Act as if you are already in the place you want to be

Hello Beautifuls! Today we’re talking about asking for criticism and processing it without dying. You can call it feedback if you prefer, but feedback and criticism aren’t different. You can use both terms interchangeably. 😉

When you’re leading a group or program or putting your work out for consumption, it’s okay for people to have an opinion. You are there to serve the people who are consuming whatever it is that you are providing. When someone is giving you their time, their most precious resource, it’s important to honor that.

So today I’m sharing five things I want you to consider when you’re asking for criticism.

We’ll talk about:

🔹 Why it’s so important to ask for criticism

🔹 How to receive criticism without taking it personally

🔹 Why you should take time to consider criticism and not respond immediately

🔹 How to implement what works for you and lovingly pass on what doesn’t

🔹 Why asking for criticism builds trust in a leader

Remember, criticism is not an affront; it’s just information. Always welcome data, and don’t be afraid of it. It’s always okay to get criticism and to ask for critiques and feedback. It can open up possibilities for something amazing to happen!

People tend to want all things strategy. Mindset work doesn’t seem that interesting. However, if your mindset isn’t right, you can be given all the strategy, and it just won’t get you where you want to be.

My client who reached $1.4 million in sales in two weeks will tell you… She knew what to do and how to reach her goal, but she just couldn’t implement it and get past her own crap to actually put it into motion. Mindset is everything, and that was the piece that was missing for so long and keeping her from reaching her goals.

It really is incredible how many tools there are that you can use for thought management. Today I’m going to share two tools you can use right now to uplevel your thoughts.

We’ll talk about:

🔹 Why it’s so important to get your thoughts out of your head

🔹 How to notice your thoughts and document them

🔹 Why you should collect neutral, judgement-free data about your thoughts

🔹 How to become aware of your thoughts and tendencies and how you create your feelings

🔹 How to stop those negative thoughts that take up so much energy and mental real estate

I want you to have these tools and implement them if you think they will be helpful to you. (Pro Tip: They WILL be helpful. 😏)

Change starts with you!

I’m sure you see this as much as I do...

Someone posts on social media. Then everyone starts swooping in and turns that post it into whatever it is that they think it means. Meanwhile the original poster says they didn’t mean for their post to offend anyone and starts trying to defend themselves. Blah, blah, blah. 😴

So, I’m just going to say this because it needs to be said. Stop arguing on social media. Just don’t do it.

In this episode we’ll talk about:

🔹 Why you should check your language and make sure that it says what you want it to say

🔹 How your words affect your impact

I wanted to talk to you today about something that I’m so passionate about. Sometimes you have a vision, and you KNOW it’s something that you are called to do. But you just can’t seem to get it done. So today I’m sharing some insight into why you should hire a coach.

In this episode, we discuss:

🔹 What a business coach is (and what it is not)

🔹 How a coach can help you take your vision to the next level

🔹 Why a fresh perspective is so helpful and important

🔹 Why the accountability that a coach provides is so valuable

Where you are today, is a result of what you have done up until now to prepare for today. And what you do today will prepare you for tomorrow. If you have a vision and can’t quite execute it, then this episode is for you!

Today I wanted to talk about something that does feel a little complicated. There have been so many conversations about it, and I wanted to share my story and experience.

I am giving some insight into what it was like for me in terms of growing up as a fundamentalist Christian and then becoming an entrepreneur where I charge money for the sum of my abilities.

In this episode, we’ll talk about:

🔹 How fundamentalism affected me as a child

🔹 Why my fundamentalist upbringing has come into play in every aspect of my entrepreneurism

🔹 How many of the beliefs I grew up with shaped my feelings around money, visibility, and success

🔹 Why my ideas around God have changed over the years

🔹 Why you should fill up YOUR space with all your talents and abilities

It is incumbent upon each of us to fill up our unique spaces, to allow ourselves to receive payment for our unique abilities, and to be good stewards of our abundance. Remember, no one else can do what I do, and no one else can do what you do.

If this episode resonates with you, or if you found it interesting, I’d love to hear. You’re welcome to comment or send me a DM if you prefer. I am available for respectful discussion.

P.S. Don't forget that I've created just for you (podcast listeners) a one-off session. You'll spend an hour with me for only $199! We can deep dive into what's going on with you. We can check your mindset, and give you a reboot! Shoot me a DM @belindaunhooked on Instagram and we'll set it up.

There is a topic that has been coming up so much with my clients lately. When one topic comes up for one client it tends to show up for everybody, which I think is fascinating.

Since we’re in the middle of another tidal wave, I wanted to share this with you in case you're there swimming along and thinking that you’re by yourself.

It is okay to change your mind. Really, it is!!

In this episode, we’ll talk about:

🔹 Signs that someone (or you) may be ready for a change

🔹 How to tell the difference between changing your mind and giving up (they are NOT the same thing!)

🔹 Why it’s possible to get everything you can out of an experience and be ready to move on to the next thing

🔹 What to do if you spent your whole life wanting and working towards something, only to find out that it just doesn’t feel right

If you need to get out of what you’re doing because it just isn’t lighting you up, or if you just feel like you’re finished, and you’ve gotten everything you can out of a particular experience, then this episode is for you!

When I think of moving forward in my life and my work, I don’t think of goals, because to me it feels like goals are the ending point. What happens when you get there? Is that it?

When you get where you want to be, you can’t just sit and be stagnant. That’s why it’s so important to dream big. No, bigger than that…. the biggest most impossible thing that you can even imagine! Let’s Dream Bigger!

In this episode, we’ll talk about:

🔹 Why I prefer to think of things I want to accomplish as mile markers instead of as goals

🔹 How our beliefs around ourselves can limit how big we allow ourselves to dream

🔹 How to know if you’re dreaming big enough (and how to dream even bigger!)

Wanna take your life to another level? Can you possibly dream bigger? Then this episode is for you!

I’d love it if you sent me a DM and let me know what’s your bigger dream? What do you wanna do?

Today, our episode is about Masterminds in coaching! It's when a group of people come together to exchange views about a specific topic.

When Masterminds are carried out with integrity, they generate the best possible energy and the best possible ideas that you can take away with you. Is it always the case? Personally, I have had one of the worst experiences in Masterminds in the past, and it cost me $10,000. However, I had other great Mastermind experiences that helped me grow in life and business.

In this episode, I'll share with you my thoughts and you’ll learn:

🔸The purpose of attending Masterminds and the benefits you can get from them

🔸How some Masterminds can be unsuitable for you (or even scammy)

🔸How to choose the right Mastermind for your personal growth and for your business

A lot of my clients have expressed interest in having a Mastermind with me. So I have decided that it is time for me to create one and I am calling it “Unhooked Elite Mastermind”. I’ll bring all my expertise and knowledge to help you expand and grow your business in 2022.

We're going to start it in January 2022. My “Unhooked Elite Mastermind” will be limited to a small group of participants who fit together to assure the greatest return. Are you stoked? This week I'm going to talk about an incident where a guy told me, essentially, that it wasn't a big deal that my Mom died of cancer and how I handled it. His words threw me into mental violence. Then, I tell you about something I said and how someone lost their ever-loving mind on me. Who was right? Who was wrong? Anybody? Let's talk about handling our words and our reactions.

This week, we are going to talk about buffering!

Buffering is when you unconsciously create certain situations around you so that you don't have to deal with the real thing at hand. Have you ever noticed that? When you have to do something (especially annoying routine matters) but instead you get yourself busy doing something else!

Buffering is much deeper than it seems. It is a good indicator of your behaviors and what's happening in your mind.

In this episode, we will discuss:

  • The signs of buffering and how it relates to your environment and your state of mind
  • Why it's not okay to be comfortable with chaos
  • How to avoid buffering and take control of your life again

I’ll also tell you a bit about how it worked for one of my clients.

Let me know if you have ever experienced buffering. I would love to hear your stories, what is interesting to you and what you notice.

You can direct message me on Instagram @belindaunhooked or you can email me at belinda@unhookedlife.com.

Don't forget that I've created just for you (podcast listeners) a one-off session. You'll spend an hour with me for only $199!

We can deep dive into what's going on with you, and we can check your mindset, and give you a reboot!

Remember, it's all about the mindset! Tune back in next week!

This week, I share some thoughts about how I feel sometimes. As a coach, it's my job to assist other people until I see them excel. That's how I get fulfilled and excited.

But occasionally, I need help myself. There are certain periods of life where my human nature makes me feel upset, confused and angry. Looking back at unfortunate events and bad choices that I have made in my life makes me angry.

Why do I talk to you about it? Because you too can relate to this state of mind and to the feelings of anger. The good news is that we can be all fixable

In this episode, you will learn:

. How admitting that some seasons in life are not always easy (and how to accept them anyway)

. How changing your thoughts can help you shift into a better place

. How to use your anger as fuel for your energy and chances

. Why getting help from a reliable person (like a Coach) is so important

Do you get angry too? Do you want to control your feelings and benefit from your anger? Let me know in my DM on Instagram @belindaunhooked. I do have spaces for new clients.

Don't forget that I've created just for you (podcast listeners) a one-off session. You'll spend an hour with me for only $199!

We can deep dive into what's going on with you, and we can check your mindset, and give you a reboot!

My favorite free challenge I run is the Finding Money Challenge. It is absolutely just happy fun.

The whole point is to find money we didn’t know was there. We look for pennies on the street, change in purses, money under the car seat? Any money anywhere. The challenge lasts for a week.

I also find there’s more energy in the collective--when several minds are thinking about finding free money together. We talk about how much money is lost (and found) each year, the beliefs we have about money and then how money can be a part of a neutral exchange.

The first time we did it, the group found around $1000. The next, we were at just a bit over $5000.

This time, the third challenge?

We came in with a whopping $9667.91.

No, for real!

**And we only had around 15ish people participate. Everything adds up.

Do you realize how incredible this is? This is how much the energetic group just FOUND by paying attention and looking for it. This is the power of working together to achieve something bigger.**

**Let it sink in.

As Napoleon Hill says, "It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed."**

We continue to prove this as we work together.

My Unhooked Elite mastermind is starting in January. I’m creating the mastermind I wish I’d had when I needed one.

This week I'm inviting a discussion about upleveling and whether it is our subconscious purposely messing with us or if everything that goes wrong at specific really is just a strange coincidence.

Have you ever gotten sick before a major project?
What about when you're taking a new risk?
Do you ever find that when you get your tax return, something random ALWAYS goes wrong so you don't get to keep the money?

I'd love for you to join in the discussion by DMing me on Instagram @belindaunhooked.

My website is UnhookedLife.com. Come check a little more about what we do!

Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands. I created this experiment for myself when I was having a really hard time liking myself. I wanted to see if I could employ the people around me to help with retraining my brain.

Listen in to see what I did and whether or not it worked.

I'd love to hear your comments!  DM me on insta @belindaunhooked!

This week I do my mic drop on the whole concept of Life Coaching. Is it a scam? Is it a cult? I'm going to put down EXACTLY how I see it. Oddly, it's the longest episode I've created so far, but I am so over the ongoing crap. ha Come get my official opinion.

Today I tell you about a mindset issue many of my clients are currently facing.

The three questions I cover:
1. AM I enough?
2. Am I DOING enough?
3. Do I HAVE enough?

All 3 of these weave together and I explain how we attempt to answer each one in different contexts.

In this episode we talk about the difference between bragging and celebrating.

Are we using money as validation or an affirmation? There's a big difference.

And what if someone is truly throwing their money in your face? What then? I give you the answer (and it doesn't include punching anyone in the face.)

We also talk about falling down and the Flinstones. Please enjoy!
