Our guest for this episode is Alexis Angulo, from Sacramento. Alexis is verified social equity, a Cannabis advocate, and founder of Pretty & Posh, a cannabis brand.

Before Alexis’ first birthday, her dad was incarcerated for selling cannabis. Since then she grew up with the stigma that Cannabis was like an evil drug that separated her dad from their family. It was not until she was 19 when she joined a sorority that changed her perspective. She was introduced to cannabis and as soon as she took her first inhalation, so much stress was lifted off of her, stress and anxiety that she never really realized she has. She then started smoking Cannabis recreationally on a monthly basis and this has helped change her perspective towards cannabis as this has helped her so much both mentally and physically.

This also brought a different kind of sisterhood among them, a sisterhood that she wanted to be conveyed in the cannabis industry. So, even when it became legalized, the cannabis industry stayed to be male-dominated. There are not many cannabis brands that cater to women. This has been her focus, to grow her business with women and sisterhood in mind.

Our guest for this episode is Sara German from Canada. Sara is a Podcast Host and Author. Sara is also also a mom to a son with PANDAS (pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections).

After struggling to find a treatment and a diagnosis for her son and dealing with the disorder for five years, Sara wrote a middle-grade novel called Pendulum by S.E. German, that outlines the challenges of this disorder and middle-grade life.

11 years ago his son started to have various neuropsychiatric kinds of mental health issues. He was exuding some aggression, anxiety, and OCD tendencies, but the most noticeable was his motor ticks and the difference in his personality, and the way he interacts.

She started with the traditional western medical route but even that wasn’t helpful. After not seeing much results and help, she tried to use her background in public policy and research. She started doing her own research and contacting numerous other doctors that may be interested in this type of issue. That is where she stumbled upon a parent’s group that was talking about PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections). Eventually, she was able to find a pediatrician who was willing to take steps needed for her son’s condition and has used natural methods as well.

She wrote the book Pendulum to help the mental health community, kids and young adults who are struggling with PANDAS and other similar issues, and to highlight the many roadblocks that they are facing in the medical system.

In this episode, Shane and Sara talk about her search for answers for his child’s condition, Sara’s battle with her own autoimmune disease, and how being vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free helps their conditions.

Our guest for this episode is Tracy Manser. Tracey is a certified Life Coach, NLP, and CBT practitioner. Tracy is also an Emmy and BAFTA-nominated British TV Production Executive.

For over 15 years Tracy suffered from life-draining panic attacks caused by a horrific sexual assault; Tracy was raped by two men repeatedly a week before her 24th birthday. In this interview, Shane and Tracy bravely talk of the impact of sexual assault, the long-term damage if left unaddressed, and how to not be tied to your tragic past and move forward with life confidently.

Her healing journey started a week before her 40th birthday after a friend suggested doing something special to celebrate. It was the start of an incredible, year-long journey. She did all the amazing things that she told herself she would do one day. Learned to chop like a chef, spent a day at the Louvre in Paris, rode rollercoasters, and even learned to do flying trapeze. All for the sake of healing and most of all to get that grip of anxiety out of her life.

Now Tracey is helping other people with their journey as a Confidence Coach, equipped with her life-long experience and victory over depression and anxiety.

Our guest for this week is Aida Cirino-Lee from Orland, Florida. Aida is a Holistic Health Practitioner and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.

As a child, Aida was always sick and experienced all different health issues, from asthma, eczema, heart murmur, and was even diagnosed with hypertension as a child.

She fell in love with the healthcare profession after experiencing firsthand the love and care of the healthcare professionals that took care of her during those treatments. All her health issues cleared up except her high blood pressure.

At the age of 31, she suffered a major stroke that made the left side of her body paralyzed. She has been on different medications, was in and out of the hospital, and ended up taking 19 pills a day, but her blood pressure was never controlled. This was also her problem when she became pregnant at 36. She was in the hospital most of her pregnancy and her baby had to be taken out early, on the 31st week. After giving birth she then experienced four Transient Ischemic Attacks.

Thankful for another life God gave her and determined to not let it go to waste, she changed her life not only for herself but most importantly to share it with her family and have the energy to enjoy her son and her grandkids. With that, she did her own research on natural medicine and functional medicine and started putting them into practice. After seeing changes in herself, she decided to go to school to learn more about it and to create a protocol that she practiced herself. In just 3 months she lost 45 pounds, from 19 pills down to 3, and hasn’t been in a hospital in 10 years!

Aida is now helping others get the skills and empowerment to control, prevent, and even reverse chronic diseases, navigate our sick-care system, break the bondages to medication and their side effects, release some weight and regain their passion

In this episode, Shane and Aida talk more about her health journey, misconceptions about diets today, relationships, and how we can truly become the CEO of our health.

We have many dreams in life. Dreams of a better future, a happy family, running a marathon, losing that extra 10 pounds, and eating healthy. But sometimes, our dreams are just being overshadowed by the sheer number of excuses. We can have as many dreams as we want, but all it will take is just one excuse and all that dreams will never be a reality. It can be our lack of time, our job, and sometimes even our own health, but all of these should not stop us.

Take our guest for this week as an example. Win Charles was born with cerebral palsy, she lost her mom in 2010 and her dad in 2019, but these have not stopped her from reaching her dreams and touching other people’s lives. Win Charles has defied the odds by becoming an author. Her memoir “I, Win” tells her amazing story of how she remembers her life through the years of having cerebral palsy, as a competitor in the Kona IronMan Triathlon, and a motivational speaker, and even hosts her own Podcast: A Winning Cup.

Win Charles also tours the country, speaking to schools and institutions to raise awareness about cerebral palsy and living a full life no matter what holds you back. She is also an advocate of veterans across the world.

In this episode, Shane chats with Win about her holistic journey, her love for essential oils, and how zucchini brownie has helped her stay away, at times, from Peanut Butter Cups.

Our guest for this week is Davina Kaonohi from Los Angeles, California. Davina is the CEO & Co-Founder of ELĒMENT APOTHĒC.

Element Apothec is the trustworthy brand conscious consumers are demanding. They have created clean, safe, and effective products with medical oversight and are committed to complete transparency. They look to disrupt and change, for the better, an industry that has abandoned responsibility for their consumers' wellbeing and health.

She is driven by a desire to truly make a difference both professionally and personally.

Element Apothec roots can be traced back to Davina’s Great Aunt who was diagnosed with many medical conditions. A lot of the medications for her medical conditions were the ones that actually caused her harm. She decided to take her health into her own hand and dove into plant-based remedies and essential oils and even cannabis. Slowly, her symptoms started going away and she started to feel better.

In time, she shared her recipes and formulations with friends and family, in hopes of bringing healing and relief to them. Expanding to more than 40 products, including lotions, body butters, roll-ons, tinctures and supplements.

Our guest for this week is Rikki Jade from Australia. Rikki is a Life Coach and founder of High Vibes Life Coaching.

Rikki grew up in the Western suburbs, a lower demographic part of Sydney, Australia. Rikki was raised by parents who also had their fair share of mental health struggles. Her mom was part of the Stolen Generation in Australia and had mental health issued and alcoholism. Her dad was in the military and was a firefighter who had PTSD as well. Growing up, she has witnessed their struggle and also their healing from these mental health issues.

Rikki felt like she was lost during her childhood and her teenage years. She had this mindset of needing to prove herself and the feeling of lack of self-worth and identity. She didn’t know where she was going in life and these affected her health, both physically and mentally.

At 18 years old, she joined the military straight out of school and has spent 7 years serving in the Australian Army as a combat soldier & recruit instructor. She trained recruits how to become soldiers and embody resilience, courage, physical & mental toughness & initiative. While doing all these in the military, she hs also started her Degree in Psychology.

She then realized her passion was to empower, lead & teach people. To guide people to their own potential & show them that they can live the life of their dreams.

She left her military job in August of 2020, in the midst of the Covid Pandemic, to focus on being a Life Coach, teaching men and women about balance in life and finding their alignment.

Now, her past life experiences, past mental health struggle, experience in working with people in the military, and her psychology degree ultimately equipped her in helping others.

They say pregnancy and the experience of giving birth is one of the most amazing experiences for a woman, but not all experiences are as magical as others. Take our guest for this week - Chiara Townley. Chiara is a published writer and spiritual counselor.

Chiara herself has had a difficult pregnancy, from morning sickness, constant throwing up for months, followed by intense heartburn the entire pregnancy. Her vision of a normal delivery for her baby turned into an emergency C-Section procedure after the head of her son got stuck after 4 hours of pushing. A nightmare for someone who has a bad relationship with sharp objects and blood! To her surprise, she was able to keep it together throughout the procedure, but she did not expect the emotional turmoil after. It’s like her brain couldn’t process the entire experience she went through, from conceiving, C-Section, and then taking care and nursing her baby, while still recovering from the procedure.

She was given medications for her anxiety and counseling but all of them just never seemed to work. Even connecting with women going through the same situation just seemed to make it worse, as if all the negative emotions from others just amplify what is already inside her head. Her mind was just filled with anxiety and most of all the self-doubt that she will never be able to take care of her son. She felt like she had lost her former self, someone full of positivity and someone who loves life.

That was until she really put spirituality to work, started to listen to her body, mind, and spirit, meditating, and ultimately falling in love with herself again to be able to take care and love her son.

Equipped with these experiences, Chiara now helps women who are going through the same journey in motherhood through coaching and guidance and a collection of published articles about healing, self-love, and motherhood.

In this episode, we have Viola Hug, a Channel and Psychic Expansion Coach, Best-Selling Author, and Podcast Host from Canada.

Viola has always been visionary and an entrepreneur with a longing to do something that would feel very purposeful and fulfilling. At the age of 16, lost her dad to cancer. This contributed to her mental health struggle during her teenage years but has also helped her learn how to slow down and start to learn the power of validating herself versus seeking external validation.

She was introduced to surface-level spirituality and then decided to step into the world of entrepreneurship, seeking things that would make her feel successful. She went through 5 years struggling with her entrepreneurship, going completely against her manifestor design - hustling harder than anybody only to end up in over 6 figures of debt. This forced her to take a deeper look and then realized that to feel abundant, successful, worthy, and loved is all an internal game.

Her next spiritual awakening was when she found out about Human Design and suddenly she went from being always looking for the answers outside to being so in tune with herself. In 2018, she and her husband decided to sell all their belongings and travel the world. She followed her intuition while working and building her business to multiple six figures by being a Psychic Coach and a channel for six-figure entrepreneurs who are wanting to create more expansion and wealth and impact in their lives.

Our guest for this episode is Harrison Meagher, a CHEK Certified Holistic Health Coach from Australia.

At the age of 18, Harrison got to a point in his life where he wanted to find himself and decided to live seeking things outside of himself. He went out and traveled the world which eventually spiraled down into a life of excessive traveling, drugs, alcohol, and casual relationships. These became his love and his identity. This was put into a screeching halt after a flight to the US. Upon arrival, he was held up by authorities, detained, questioned, and locked up. He was then deported back to Australia. His life of travel and all of the things he had spent so many years getting used to and what has defined him by was taken away.

Realizing the wrong life he has been living but still determined to find his sense of wellbeing and self-love, he then decided to look inwards this time, into himself by the things that’ll make him healthy and whole - food, movements, sleeping patterns, stress management, and emotional wellbeing. He worked on these things and found out that the love that he’s been searching for, is actually just within himself.

He is now a Holistic Health Coach helping people with a similar journey through Personal Training, Nutrition, Health, and Biohacking.

Sex education is a subject you would not normally hear in typical conversations. A “hushed” topic even among families. Nonetheless, this is a topic that should be discussed, given the amount of wrong information even today.

In this episode, Shane chats with Dr. Elizabeth Rodgers, a graduate of the Disparities Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. She is an alumna of the University of Pittsburgh where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in psychology, Master’s in public health, and Doctorate in epidemiology with a focus on understanding barriers associated with chronic illness and disability prevention. After spending over a decade serving as a chronic disease specialist and clinical researcher in traditional healthcare, Dr. Rodgers now has her own practice, Healthy Transformations with Heart, where she is an expert holistic health coach and healer.

14 years ago, she was left bleeding internally after a surgery, without her doctor telling her of her condition. 14 days later, she was in the hospital, literally hours from her death in septic shock. She even had to say goodbye to her family and friends as she was told that there is only one-in-a-million shot of coming of this alive, but against all odds, she survived.

Her survival was only the beginning of her fight. She then battled tons of mental, emotional, and physical, chronic illnesses, pain symptoms and conditions. She spent years going from specialist to specialist and receiving only temporary management solutions, without getting definite answers to healing. This frustration with traditional healthcare is just one of her many reasons why she walked away from being a traditional healthcare provider and created her holistic approach that she now delivers through her practice, with the goal of helping others achieve their optimal health, mind, body, and spirit.

In this episode, Shane chats with Fernanda Castañeda, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and host of Positive Blueprints Podcast.

After being pregnant at a young age of 17, Fernanda was determined to not let that be a hindrance. Fueled by her drive to prove herself and the desire for wellness and helping people, she went to college and became a nurse. Being a nurse in different communities only made her realize the need to help more. With this, she went back to school and got her degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.

Like most of us, she also struggled with anxiety and depression and as a medical practitioner, she has taken several western medications for it. These of course came with more side effects that prompted her to take even more medications, leaving her in this vicious cycle.

Her life was transformed after encountering a video on her phone, The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. God has helped her realize through this video that everything that our body feels, starts in our mind. This sparked her journey of self-growth with the mission to bring a message of hope and healing to a world that is so used to chaos, anxiety, stress, and chronic disease.

Sheela will talk about studying nutritional science and not finding the answer to the most important question - how do we actually heal health conditions? The answer came when she discovered the power of herbs and healing properties of raw fruits and vegetables. Upon that discovery Sheela started her company “Food Over Drugs” helping anyone find health through herbs and healthy eating habits.

Key Takeaways to Tune in For:

[04:00] The drugs that pharmaceutical companies sell us have compounds as their active ingredients that actually come from herbs! For thousands of years we had this knowledge of how to know what is wrong with us and heal ourselves with what nature provides, but we had grown detached from it and now rely on someone else to tell us that.

[09:22] Parasites. Don’t freak out! Most people have them, and it’s easy to cleanse your body from them with herbs.

[17:00] Don’t think of hereditary health conditions as a mandatory sentence. You have an opportunity to transform your body and heal genetic weaknesses - and not pass them on. No health condition is for life!

In this episode, Shane chats with Laura Baumann, a yoga and meditation teacher from The Netherlands, currently living in Florida with her spouse and 5 y/o daughter.

As a child she had a big passion for ballet dance and attended a semi-professional ballet school. Due to the mental and physical pressure she experienced anxiety and had eating disorders.

Yoga helped her overcome this. In 2011, she started to teach yoga in Europe. When she became a mom, she took a break. Meanwhile her personal daily self-care routine with yoga, meditation and mindset work helped her with daily challenges. She decided to teach yoga online.

Now she helps moms and mompreneurs (mothers who are entrepeneurs) overcome stress and find balance with family and work. Yoga, meditation and mindset work are her specialty tools to relieve stress, feel renewed and thrive!

One problem she noticed was the lack of education and accessibility of quality CBD products, especially in the Black community. That's when The Noir Leaf was born. Shani's mission with The Noir Leaf hinges on the three pillars of community, education, and accessibility.
