This week we kick things off with the huge mess the PlaystationNetwork has turned into. What's next, and will it cause long-term impact for Sony's online service? We also take a quick look at Hulu+ on the 360, and talk about the first quarter sales numbers for home media (it's not great.) In gaming, we look at a recent story that has Epic Games claiming 99-cent apps are killing the gaming biz. Matt reviews the Green Hornet on Blu-ray.

This week we kick the show off with a look at HDBaseT, a new cable alliance that uses regular Cat-5/6 to send HD signals. Could it be the new norm? We also look at Netflix Canada's attempts to reduce bandwidth for their customers and a possible new Xbox 360 disc format. Matt does a through breakdown of the new Nintendo 3DS as well. Matt's Blu-ray review is Tangled, and Phil takes a look at the 3D disc Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D.

We start this week looking at how the tragic earthquake in Japan is affecting the CE industry. Clearly recovery and safety are many times more important to the region than electronics, but as companies shut down plants, it can't be ignored. We also look at a new report on US broadband speeds, specifically that 60% are slower than 4Mbps. Also, Showtime pulls away from Netflix.

The CEA is looking to make things easier on consumers by proposing standards for active 3D glasses. Netflix outbids HBO for its first original content, is this the first step in a major shift or just a small tremor? AT&T caps bandwidth for its DSL and U-Verse customers, how big of a deal is it? Also, Time Warner launched live streaming to the iPad.

We open the show talking about why Netflix has nothing to fear from Warner streaming one movie on Facebook, but why the Red Envelope needs to pay attention to these kind of things for the future. Also, Apple TV adds live MLB and NBA streaming with new update, Blu-ray demand is outpacing manufacturing and people are buying TVs faster than ever before. We also review Due Date and Matt looks at MLB11 The Show.

Quick notes this week. We start off with a look at Amazon Prime's new streaming video offering. We both feel it's pretty underwhelming. Next up we look at Blockbuster, which put itself up for sale recently. Comcast launches a 24/7 3D network (as did Sony/Discovery/Imax on DirectTV) and some big CE companies gang up on the FCC with the AllVid alliance.

After last week's Midwest Snowpocalypse forced us to take a week off, we're back this week with no Netflix news at all. Unfortunately, there wasn't much news elsewhere so we open the show talking Super Bowl XLV ads. We follow that up with discussion of Best Buy's new Buy Back program that looks to be a pretty bad deal, along with the Big Yellow Ticket's attempt to play the 28-day rental delay against Nextflix and Red Box (that's the only Netflix, we swear). Finally, in a bit of industry news, Audiovox is buying Klipsh (and along with it the Mirage upscale brand).

A quick turnaround for this week's show as we get back to our normal Wednesday recording schedule. For this week, the post-CES doldrums continue as news is pretty light. We spend a lot of time this week talking about Netflix. A pair of articles in Home Media Magazine highlight the lack of new movies on the red enveloped service's streaming menu (only nine of the top 100 movies from 2010 are available, compared to in the 40s for Amazon, Vudu, etc.) and examine the idea of a "disc-only" option (which we think is highly unlikely).

We launch this week's show with a look at Netflix's decision to remove the "Add to DVD Queue" from streaming devices. Does this indicate more sinister long-term notions from the DVD Mailing streaming company? We also look at the decision to hold Malcolm X from release, a week before it was to be out, and how music rights can impact releases. Phil gives a brief review of his new Windows Phone 7 and we look at the freakiest glasses-free 3D yet.

This week we suspend all normal activity to turn the clocks back on 2010. We take a look at all the best Blu-rays from 2010: animated, live-action, catalog and more. We kick off this week with Phil taking a hands-on look at his new Panasonic TC-P50VT25 3D HDTV.
