Today we have Inyong talking to us about her Christian belief and her views about the Covid Vaccine. Despite our disagreements with what is "factual" or not, we tried to maintain civil discourse throughout. Therefore, we ask that listeners maintain the same respect we have for each of our opinions (although you are free to disagree) and not take it as an opportunity to police your own opinions. We hope you have fun listening to some controversy– the discussion about the vaccine starts at 7:10!

With the rise of progressive ideas, the perspective that 'smaller bodies are better' is changing and we are calling for body positivity. In the previous episode, there was a bit where we raised our concern about how overweight models are normalizing obesity, which is just as harmful as skinny models promoting anorexia. We said that being a bit chubby was fine... but then I thought– what makes us determine what size is obese/anorexic? The fact is, that it all comes down to how we look. We are making judgments about these model's health based on how they look, and not thinking about the true purpose of their job, which is to present the designer's clothing on a diverse range of body types and sizes. While the claim that being over/underweight is unhealthy still stands, I wanted to rethink what society has taught us about weight in regards to health.

Todayy, we host a guest on our episode🥳

The Kween ✨Maya Taylor ✨herself brings to us questions about beauty standards! We talk about the different determinants of beauty across cultures, whether the standards really matter at all, discuss what differences there are between genders, and obviously as always, touch base on the role of media for perpetuating these standards.

I think we delve deep and bring up pretty interesting points. Tell us what you think by DMing us or commenting on one of our posts @ramblehourpodcast

Hope you enjoy!

Kanon and Haozhen talk about self-presentation, politics, how the media influences our beliefs, and a bit about POGOs 🙊  (we talked more about political correctness but we cut it out for another podcast). The echo is terrible in the room but we hope you enjoy!
