Everyone with life experiences knows that even when we do our best mistakes occur. So too we learn that admitting error -our own, or others - is so hard. Sometimes, admitting to error takes years (or even centuries as indigenous peoples, religious, ethnic and former slave peoples well know).
Our legal system is not immune. Yes, the appeals system corrects error, but it is limited by the calibre of those who appear and the quality of the facts before the appeal judges.
This podcast series is a short, easy to follow, expose of how the legal system can be corrupted, not by money in this instance, but by a way of thinking characterised by ineptitude, inflexibility, laziness, and the arrogance of power.
Mistakes create victims. Put yourself in the prison space of the victim in this case and then ask yourself, 'If this was my mum, my grandmother, my friend, what could I do to get her justice?'
