"Oh now I get it." -Said no one ever after being mansplained to.

On today's episode, Abby and Margot talk about the experience of being mansplained to. It had started with a viral video that they shared of Pro golfer, Georgia Ball being mansplained at while she was filming a video for her IG at the driving range. It unsurprisingly enraged the Warriors, so they knew it was time to chat about this ridiculous phenomenon. That is when a man talks at a woman for any amount of time, usually unsolicited, and often about a subject that she knows a good amount about. Note: Even if she doesn't, that doesn't open doors for 'education' or offering up opinions. They share stories of being mansplained to, and reflect on why they have hope that the situation can continue to improve and some useful steps to take to lessen the mansplaining.
Side note: No men were hurt in the recording of this podcast. If you're hurt after listening, feel free to not tell us about it.

"Life is a balance of holding on and letting go." -Rumi

On today's episode Abby and Margot welcome their next guest, Giselle Shardlow. Giselle is a former classroom educator and trained yoga professional. She's the founder of Kids Yoga Stories, a company dedicated to creating valuable resources to bring yoga to kids everywhere and much more. Her story is largely about how she's framed her anxiety into two parts. The first from before she became a Mom and the second from after. Growing up she was labeled as a worry wort or "overly sensitive", but didn't know she'd been anxious until years later. Her story journey's from her early adult years when she was a world traveler and teacher in Guatemala, to what it was like many years later in young motherhood coping with her daughters struggles with anxiety and other needs and how these experiences (and how she related to them) felt different in mind and body. Giselle offers the Warriors a myriad of useful tools and modalities for approaching care, compassion and support for her anxiety. With countless moments of warmth and wisdom, she reminds listeners about the beauty of humanity and how with a bit more effort and surrender... we can all overcome life's obstacles with more ease.

On today's episode Abby and Margot welcome their next guest, Becky Fontaine. Becky is a Mother and musician, a self professed trauma alchemist, and so much more! She shares that anxiety is the longest relationship of her life, and that it exists for her in nearly every memory. Fast forward to late adolescents, Becky started her own healing journey, and was given labels and tools for her experience. She shares so many stories and insights into how she both experiences and navigates anxiety, and talks openly about how it's a constant work in progress. "Keep a diary, and one day it'll keep you." -Mae WestOn today's episode Abby and Margot kick off a new mini series that they'll be doing from time to time; Anxiety Diaries! Anxiety topics aren't always easy to think of...and after over 120 episodes...sometimes the Warriors just notice little (or big) things in their day to day that are happening here and now that cause anxiety. These things don't always fit neatly into a category, or tie up nice with a bow. Sometimes We Warriors can't break down what we go through into a perfect box. So for today, Margot and Abby share what's been happening lately that's been giving them anxiety! For Abby, it's car troubles (EEKK!). For Margot, it's her sweet aging pup Hurley. They share about that and more and offer the Warriors the chance to reflect on what's been on their mind lately and how to show up for themselves. NOTE: This episode was recorded some time ago. An update to both Margot and Abby's circumstances was recorded at a much later date. The updates have been added to the end of this episode.Shop Anxiety Warriors Podcast Merch at:https://anxietywarriorspodcast.threadless.com/https://www.instagram.com/anxietywarriorspodcast/--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/anxiety-warriors/message

"Being an anxiety warrior is about finding a loving relationship with my anxiety." -Jesse Israel

On today's episode, Abby and Margot are thrilled and honored to welcome Jesse Israel to the podcast. Jesse is a social entrepreneur, meditation leader and former record label executive known for founding the mass meditation movement The Big Quiet. In 2020 Jesse was invited to go on tour with Oprah Winfrey and WW to speak at and lead mass meditations at sold-out arenas throughout the US. He's been featured in Forbes, The New York Times, and the WSJ along with several other leading publications.

As a kid, Jesse only noticed performance anxiety during sports with adults watching him. He shares how in many ways he felt as if he'd peaked in his middle school years because it was a time of his life when he felt free. Free to create and be a leader without fear and self doubt. Then, after being part of a prank gone wrong... everything changed. His anxiety grew, and as he grew new challenges proved more difficult because of it. In his early 20's after achieving wild success in the music business he began to have panic attacks which led him to realize that it was time to make massive shifts in his life. With therapy, meditation, and a supportive community he was able to help himself so that in turn he could help others to create massive shifts in their life. He offers the Warriors many useful tips for learning to form a loving and embracing relationship to anxiety, and see it as a teacher rather than an enemy. As always, the Warriors have a blast getting to know Jesse in lightning round and he shares a fantastic win of the week!

Through art therapy, webcomic creation, mixed martial arts, and his work as a ADHD coach, he continues to heal and help others better navigate their own struggles. "You learn the hard way. That's the thing with social media. Nobody knows what they're doing." -Cameron Dallas

On today's episode, Abby and Margot talk all about how anxiety shows up on social media. It's uses, it's ever changing features, its demand and pressures, and the fear of missing out or 'being forgotten.' The Warriors discuss how while they are always seeking to remain connected, they also find the platforms to be exhausting, time consuming, and even a burden at times. This episode ties in nicely with ep. 45 (Sales Anxiety) as Margot and Abby both use social media primarily as a source of networking and marketing their small businesses. This can sometimes cause even more anxiety when it's easy to view social media (likes, comments, etc.) as a sort of extension of self worth. News flash: It's not! Social media is not real life. They share some of the strategies and go-to tools they use to try and navigate their daily social media usage and allow for more time making present moment connections. They hope these tips can feel supportive and helpful and ultimately lead to less anxiety.

On today's episode, Abby and Margot are thrilled and honored to welcome Jesse Israel to the podcast. In his early 20's after achieving wild success in the music business he began to have panic attacks which led him to realize that it was time to make massive shifts in his life. Fine dining?  The food anxieties can be relentless! Margot and Abby share about the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the irritating, and the delicious parts of figuring out all things food! The Warriors hope that this light episode will be relatable and funny and that it can remind the listeners to be on the lookout for the lighter side of anxiety.
