As business owners, we all get stuck in a cycle that whether we know it or not, is actually preventing us from growing our business. Our tendency is to keep ourselves busy in a million different directions, avoiding doing the things that will actually move the needle in our business.
And when we hit roadblocks, we procrastinate and self-sabotage ourselves into giving up.
Because we are so close to it, we can't see what's broken, but that's what having outside support provides. Being in community and having a mentor with an outside perspective can be the biggest gift you can give to yourself if you want to take your business to the next level.
DM me on Instagram if you'd like to chat about what this could look like for you.

Sharing the most beautiful analogy that I heard from one of my coaches about what it means to have these "dips" in our business ... especially after a big growth moment. During any kind of an uplevel it is normal to go through highs and lows, and the question becomes, "How do we support ourselves through it?"
"Do we have tools we can lean on to regulate our nervous systems in the dip?" ... so that we don't spiral into old patterns and beliefs.
In this episode, I'm walking you through what happened in my business in December. Sharing some of the ways that I questioned myself and began to slip into old patterns, and then how I moved through that into the world of possibility again.

Ready to be supported on a deeper level? Ready to feel abundant, incredible, amazing?! … like life is just “too good to be true” and you’ve created the new subconscious problem of regulating to the belief that it IS true that life is so good.

I recorded this just after a one-on-one coaching call with Tori, one of the bonus opportunities you get when you join the mastermind … and Tori kicked off the call with the most amazing news! The inevitable (because their success was inevitable and they dreamt it so it was meant to be!) booking for $2500 had just happened. We screamed. We celebrated.
But it wasn’t even a major freak out or excitement for Tori because they knew they were worthy and deserving. They’d done the work of regulating this new desired reality long before the moment actually came.
… and that’s available for you, too.
Dream big, because your dreams are meant for you!
Doors to the mastermind are open, and in this episode I talk a little more about Tori’s experience, and about how you can feel grounded, peaceful, and regulated in your business too, as you reach new levels of success with pleasure and ease.

As luck would have it, that's how I ended up finding the Emotion/Body Code. It was like a light in the darkness to be able to let go of so many feelings and fears I had been holding onto.

Healing the Inner Child
You get to choose how you want to live your life and how good you get to feel doing it.
I know how it feels to take so much on — to feel everything, to absorb everything, to absorb all of the energy around you at any given moment. If you’re a highly sensitive person (HSP) like me, or an empath, or basically just human at all, you probably know what I’m referring to.
Lately, I’ve been trying to focus on the idea that I don’t have to be a sponge. I don’t have to absorb everything, I don’t have to take in everything, and I don’t have to be everything all the time. I can just feel my feelings — whether it’s grief, or rage, or excitement, or happiness — and I can let those feelings float by.
Because, as we move through the world and bring our art, our passions, and our work to life, we don’t have to be tied to the outcomes. Instead, we can stand deeply embodied, realizing that we’re worthy of everything our hearts desire. And when we position ourselves from a place of receiving, of giving, and of allowing things to come and go to wash in and out of our lives without attachment without pressure, we’re able to receive what we’re worthy of.
I hope you love today’s episode. But, more importantly, I hope you remember that you’re more than worthy of it all.
I recently hosted a live workshop, and began it with a guided meditation on raising your rates. It was such a beautiful time together that I couldn't resist sharing the replay here as well.
In this episode you'll get a glimpse of what it's like to work with an intuitive business coach, listen in to some common concerns that bubble up with raising rates, and leave feeling better, having more clarity about what you'd like your future to look like and what you need to do to get there.
Listen in when you're ready to uplevel your life, and stay grounded doing so.
Over the last year or so, I have leaned in powerfully to the practice of bragging. Deliciously, beautifully, playfully bragging. And I know that, for a lot of us, the word “bragging” holds a negative connotation. In fact, it probably sounds like we’re being selfish or out of tune with ourselves.
But, let me tell you… bragging can be the biggest mindset shift you ever experience. It holds the power to reset negative thought patterns, can bring you back to center, and can change your entire life.
In this episode, I’m sharing a few brags with you — like how I am bragging that I am helping people like YOU lean into yourselves, that I am leading a beautiful mastermind space, and that my life and my business feel GOOD lately. So good, in fact… that I wouldn’t have believed it possible just a few years ago.
And then, my friend, I want to ask you: when’s the last time you bragged on yourself so beautifully that your voice started shaking? When’s the last time you bragged about your space, about your business, about your joy? I want to invite you to join me — to brag alongside me, too — and to invest in resources and support, like Finding Peace & Profit, that make bragging a conscious “yes!” kind of choice in your everyday life.
Hold space for this, okay? Hold space for you.

You might be ready to “quantum leap” ahead, towards some big changes in your business. Maybe you even know you want to hire some support, outsource, or create new workflows. Sometimes, we have to slow down a bit before we get to speed up and see exponential shifts that compound.
In this week’s episode I’m bringing in my husband David to dig into this concept that we’ve both been learning and putting into practice — because allowing ourselves to slow down, to hand things off, and to open up more space has started to change everything at Almond Leaf Studios.
For David, this has meant hiring someone to provide editing support with our videos — which has been a big change, and hasn’t necessarily been fun or easy the whole way through (but is so worth it). It’s all about the small steps to make the big changes, and sometimes those small steps are slower ones… and they’re just as sweet.
As one of the most intuitive coaches I know, Alicia Nicole gives a beautiful introduction to the modality of Human Design as one of the many tools she uses in her holistic coaching practice.
On this episode we joke about starting a group for post “bro marketing” experiences with coaches, discuss some common tendencies we see in online marketing, and dive into her many years of experience working behind the scenes with some of the top coaches and experts in the industry.
Alicia is showing us what human design is and how you use it to build a life and a business that’s truly in alignment.. We also chat about the lessons she learned from leaving religion, the experiences that led her to the success she has today, and how following intuition is the key to building a more aligned life.
Listen in for an episode sure to bring you back to yourself.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling this collective grief pulsing through our nation as of late. It’s so easy to get caught up in staying busy as a subconscious way to avoid the feelings. The fear of the grief, the sadness, the anger taking over, as if a sea at storm, ready to take out anyone and anything in its path is so real.
I have been allowing the waves of grief to pulse, move through my body, and to be present with them. To welcome and honor them. To invite them to move in and through me to be released. After a session of grieving, I found myself thinking about the dichotomy of what it looks like to be so present with your deepest feelings and yet also hold extreme excitement, joy, and gratitude for the work that you are doing in the world. This is my reality, and the reality of so many of my coaching clients. And so, I sat down and recorded this bonus episode. Just for you.
To remind you that you are uniquely you and this world needs what you have to offer. Just as you.
With all your grief and anger present, too.Listen in. Pass it along to your friends.
It's a good one.
What if, my friend, you stopped thinking so much about the arrival?
And more about the journey that gets you there?
I know how it feels to focus on the arrival — but I also know how much better it feels to reframe the journey and revel in that instead. And, while it feels good — way better, in fact — it’s also so transformative and freeing and joyful, too.
On today’s episode, I’m talking about how you can find that joy in the journey on the way to arrival. We’re going to dive into how you can reframe your experiences, how you can lean into your journey, and how you can celebrate each moment… not just the seemingly massive ones. Because, guess what? When you can reframe that journey, you can unfold magic and joy like you never even realized.
Have you ever found yourself drowning in grief, or wondering how to wrestle with the strangeness of the human experience as heartbreaking news continues to unfold in the world?
I couldn’t think of a better person to interview than my own doula, who helped me welcome my first baby into the world, and has seen, experienced and participated in countless life and death moments during her own lifetime.
Her perspective on grief and the rub of gratitude that’s found in the midst of deep grief is such an inspiration.
Listen in if you’re ready for her inspiring, beautiful perspective.

The Mindfulness Practice I’ve Been Loving Lately
Today, I’m talking about something that’s absolutely essential to increasing your bookings: adding more touch points for potential clients to see along the way. See, touch points — or those little ways in which potential clients are interacting with your brand — are way more important than you might think.
A lot of the photographers and creatives will send one pricing PDF guide to a potential client, and then hear crickets. I used to be the same, too! But, adding a few more touch points along the way is what will level up that area of your business and increase confidence from your clients and from you. This episode is the perfect short listen for streamlining that area of your business so that you can book more projects and clients that you’re proud of!

On this episode of I Might Cry, I’m sharing the practice I’ve been implementing into my mornings lately for a life that feels equal parts intentional, mindful, and magical. The simple truth that makes life feel just a little easier: you get the chance to do a little reset every single day as the sun starts to sneak up into the sky, and you get the chance to live your life in a more intentional way, too. By taking that chance and really, truly approaching your mornings from that standpoint of renewal and gratitude, everything changes.
Listen in for some ways to make those mornings of yours a sacred start to the day, and try to take the time to give yourself a little extra thanks, too — because you’re here, you woke up, and you have a brand new day in front of you, every single day. How lucky is that?

In this week’s episode of I Might Cry, I’m taking you behind the scenes of a coaching call with one of my clients where we dig deep into the limiting beliefs that tend to get in the way of everything. From the way we price our services to the way we approach our lives, these beliefs can affect so much of our daily decisions. My client on this call is an incredible musician dealing with the growing pains that so many of us have to deal with… like raising rates (even when it feels scary), taking ownership of the value we all offer, and struggling with feeling like we need to justify every single step we take in business.
This episode is the sweetest reminder that you are where you are for a reason — and is packed with tons of little gems, from a mini tapping session all the way to digging into your inner child, and finding out how you can keep healing them as you go. It feels a little like a therapy session wrapped into a podcast episode, and I can’t wait for you to listen in.

In this week’s episode of I Might Cry I’m sitting down with my husband, David, to talk about something hugely important that’s been defining in our lives lately: the releasing of control. From the way we run Almond Leaf to the way we parent our kids to the way we maintain our own relationships, control (or a releasing of it) has been hugely, hugely impactful. We’re talking about how to welcome in the hard things, how to support without control, and how to live a life that’s rich in abundance and joy and love and everything in between.

There’s nothing quite like sprinting right into things that feel unknown or scary, but also feel 10 kinds of right, is there? I got to dive into this with my friend Alyssa Foushee, who faced all that fear to try something new — AKA buying, fixing up, and creating Airbnb businesses out of beautiful log cabins in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this episode, Alyssa shares her advice for testing out the Airbnb waters, talks about how passive income can allow you to shift your priorities, and dives into managing the reality of being a “yes” girl.

Did you know that your business doesn’t have to feel so hard? In fact, your business is supposed to feel good. Open for opportunity. Beautiful. Really, it’s supposed to make you proud. And, I know from personal experience — and from the experience of so many of my students and fellow entrepreneurs, too — that really making your business feel GOOD starts with one thing: tracking your leads.
In this episode, I’m showing you why — and how — to start tracking your leads in a way that makes sense for you. See, I’m a HUGE believer that the energy you give to your business (and the energy that your business gives you) shouldn’t be that draining type of energy, you know? It should be the life-giving kind. The soulful kind.
Lead tracking is what’s going to get you there, and this episode will show you how.
Curious to know what’s going on behind the scenes in my business?

Having a business for more than two decades, Elizabeth and David are normalizing difficult situations in business and discussing the good that can come from experiencing them. We all receive negative feedback and encounter dissatisfied customers every now and again, but how you respond to them is what can either keep you stuck, or help you grow as a business owner.
If you choose to focus consciously or subconsciously on the one negative experience, giving it a lot of attention and energy, it can dilute all of the other beautiful experiences and happy clients you have far more of. In this conversation, Elizabeth and David encourage you to take a pause, think through how you want to respond and realize that we all just want to be seen and heard. If you go into a difficult situation with this in mind, what could come from it is more understanding and change for the better.
Elizabeth chats with Madison Dalmaso, a 7-figure high performance lifestyle and business mentor, who studied under the renowned Bob Proctor, learning about the Law of Attraction.Madison explains that we are all vibrational beings who are constantly in motion. And because we are in motion, we exist on frequencies. If we can learn how to tap into a different frequency, where our biggest dreams and desires live, we can change our own vibration and ultimately attract and achieve what we want most. Tune in to listen to this conversation about what manifestation really is, and learn how you can use it in your life to grow your business, increase your wealth, and find more fulfillment.
In this episode, Elizabeth sits in the guest seat while being interviewed by her husband, David, the lead videographer at Almond Leaf Studios. In this playful, heart felt conversation between the two, David asks Elizabeth some big questions about some of the changes she’s been making in her mindset, business, and life.
Tune in to discover the big question he surprised her with, and how they unpack the meaning and understandings of some big terms being used in the industry.
In this solo episode, Elizabeth sheds light on the high risk the event industry is in for burnout. With a bit of her own experience sprinkled in, she shares interesting research about the neuroscience of burnout - what happens physically in your brain when you reach burnout.
In a season of overwhelm, you’ll take away some practical tools from this episode to help prevent burnout, find balance, and recharge emotionally and physically.

In this special episode, Elizabeth walks us through her go-to exercise that aids in moving through overwhelm during stressful times. “Tapping”, officially called EFT Emotional Freedom Technique, is a very practical tool you can use when you’re feeling anxious, short of breath, or deep shallow breaths. This exercise can bring an amazing amount of clarity into what you need to accomplish, and help prioritize what’s most important to you. You can expect to feel a shift of some sort happening. That shift is your neuro pathways actually beginning to change and transform so you can clear your mind, open your heart, and feel good in your body. Join us for this tapping exercise and see what it can do for you!
In this episode, guest Yogi Bryan shares his experience of moving beyond the yoga mat into a consistent meditation practice that has transformed his life. Together, he and Elizabeth redefine the common understanding of hypnosis. Because hypnotherapy digs into the subconscious mind, consistent practice of energy shedding and healing allows a compound effect of providing inspiration, clarity, motivation, and ideas. The more you do, the more layers you shed.
At the end of this episode, Yogi Bryan takes us through a relaxing meditation session to help move any stuck energy. Tune in for a free session!

Elizabeth and Eatherley dive deep into what inspires them in their own craft; how they keep that creative inspiration alive; and how they have overcome limiting beliefs in their businesses.
Both have physically and creatively demanding careers and in the early years, got caught up in hustle culture that consumes the wedding industry. Learning how to work through challenges, getting the ego in check, and surrounding themselves with support has allowed them to work through the fear that comes with solopreneurship. Growing a capable team and being able to step back and trust the ebbs and flows of business has given them a community, more success, and the freedom they have always dreamed of.
About Eatherley:
Eatherley Schultz is the owner and head of operations at Floressence. She comes from a line of women, including her mother and grandmother, who found beauty and kinship in the garden space. Eatherley grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where her early love of gardening and horticulture eventually took her to central California where she studied agroecology and farming.
As a farmer, she grew organic vegetables and cut flower and later added landscape design to her skillset, a field that would influence her work and approach at Floressence. In North Carolina, she managed a 250-acre farm property for five years, and began a small floral business on the side. Eatherley felt compelled to pursue her floral design business full-time.
Floressence Flowers was born in 2010, out of Eatherley’s love of plants and nature, and her desire to use them as an artistic medium. Today, Floressence has executed hundreds of weddings and special events in Western North Carolina and beyond.

In this transformative episode, Elizabeth takes us through an actual tapping exercise and shows us how vulnerable it requires you to be. Tapping has allowed her to release anxiety, be more present, and allow her to dream bigger by learning how to be present and getting really honest about guiding her business from a place of authenticity.
EFT or tapping first came into prominence in the 1990s by a developer named Gary Craig. According to EFT International, the technique can be helpful for people with anxiety, depression, and can even be helpful for pain, stress, weight loss issues, etc. That's the beauty of it. It's not specific to any one problem, or any one undesirable emotion. It's not specific to only people who are chronically depressed or in pain. It can be used for anything. It actually helps you access your body's energy and sends signals to different parts of your brain that controls stress. It’s dealing with all of the chemical and hormonal responses and allowing your body to get out of that fight or flight space that we can often live in.

Listen in to this one-on-one coaching episode where Elizabeth and Katie discuss the challenges of owning a photography business, the impact it can have on your personal life, and how to work towards the work life balance you dream of. Elizabeth challenges Katie to implement practices in her business that would most benefit her so she can spend more time focusing on the things that matter most to her. They discuss the importance of mindset work and how a consistent practice can shift her entire business by discovering subconscious beliefs that could be holding her back.
Some important questions that came up include: Are you crafting a story in your life outside of work? Are you tracking your time so you have an idea of how much you are actually making? Are you giving your family as much attention as your business? Are you working in your zone of genius? Are you making mindset work a priority?
About Katie:
I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer....I am a lover of people and stories. I always been in awe of the natural beauty of people - and sharing their stories to the world. I was always into film and photography since high school. I was always creative and had "my head in the clouds," as my parents would say....I always like to dream big and ideas - I went to film school in 2006 and then continue my studies to tie in my sports and media background. When I went to Brock for Sports Management. I worked in athletics for BrockTV creating and producing expose segments on our athletes. It wasn't until then I developed a stronger passion for telling and sharing stories in a linear fashion i.e., video but, that is also when I began to take stills and wanted to further developed my knowledge more - I fell in love with sports photography and capturing the grit and glory of the moment. When I graduated I started my business in helping athletes get recognized for their talent producing recruitment videos to hoping to get sponsorship. Then I transition into capturing stills - and then my wedding photographer Destiny loved how I captured action/in the moment stills, and she began my mentor and friend took me under her wing to show me the wedding world. I second shot for her and learned the ropes and slowly I started to book my own weddings. From there (4 years later)... I feel in love with weddings and families and the story is history hahahah!

Elizabeth and Nikia discuss how to show up to your purpose as it’s presented to you throughout your life. As a Reiki master, Nikia serves as a conduit of universal energy to help people facilitate their own healing. Feeling how much power is inside of you if you choose to tap into it and recognize what you are capable of, can be life changing. We hold onto the trauma in our bodies and that can manifest in our lives and business. If we ignore or suppress it, it will continue to resurface until we have worked through it. Nikia discusses how, on a daily basis, we can learn how to work through that pain. Integrating healing into your daily life could look like meditation, journaling or simply breathing. Easing into your day and creating these sacred moments helps to turn the noise of the world down, and you up. Listen to enjoy a sample guided meditation at the end of this episode.

In a culture that speaks often to being “enough”, Elizabeth and Jessica dialogue through the, all too often, conditioning of being “too much”. In this episode, listen to their journey of healing and surrender that brought, and is still bringing them closer to their true self.
Jessica is a holistic wellness coach and 500 hr yoga guide. She helps overwhelmed go-getters recalibrate and find clarity in their lives through her company Whole & Unleashed. Jessica walked away from the corporate world at the peak of her advertising career. She realized she was merely surviving a life that wasn't aligned to her and that many were on the same boat. Living in autopilot, following the status quo and disconnected from themselves. Jessica spent the past couple of years training to help people recalibrate, connect to their inner compass and align to a life where they too can thrive. Jessica is also the host of the Whole & Unleashed Podcast, a podcast about coming home to ourselves. Featuring chats on burnout, pivoting, fulfillment, spirituality, mental wellness & more.

Receiving the message at an early age that my deep feelings were just “too much” caused me to self protect by shutting down my emotions.
On this podcast episode I’m sharing why I decided to start this podcast, how we chose the name, and the kinds of topics we’ll be exploring. The emotional connection we have with our bodies can give us significant insight into what decisions we need to make in our business. I’m not interested in hustling anymore, working long hours, and “powering through” in order to feel like I deserve the success I want to achieve. I’m invested in pursuing a business journey that allows ease, flow, and fluidity to be the framework of my business. Exploring emotional healing and how it connects to business growth.
