YWAM European Leadership Learning Community
The ELLC is a place where we all can connect with many different resources for leaders. Each month, the website has a special theme, and each week there is media produced.
The ELLC is a ministry under YWAM (Youth With A Mission). Views stated in the sessions are their personal and not necessarily the international views from the umbrella organization.

As we take time to say goodbye to our beloved founder, Loren Cunningham, we wanted to take time this month to reflect on his lessons on leadership. This is not an LDx talk where the “x” denotes 10 minutes, but rather an LDXXL talk from our founder, Loren Cunningham. This is a presentation from him on why he is so passionate about Oral Mother Tongue translation. It was given via zoom to the Go Persia conference in June 2023.Darlene tells us about this presentation, “He said to me, "I'm not sure I will have the strength to do a full two hours, Dar." (Inside I smiled and thought "once he gets going on this heart message of OMT, he will easily Zoom the full two hours!") God truly anointed him! He said when he finished, "Darlene, I believe this was the best presentation I have ever given!" “We have decided to leave it as the whole presentation instead of trying to make it into a 10 minute LDx. As his health fails, we are blessed that the Lord anointed him to share this message with us at this time.
"Governments all over Europe encourage their citizens to store food and other necessities in their homes for at least three days of survival. We should also build Bible Storehouses to prepare for a spiritual famine and offer every home a free Bible. How do we do that?"
This month's Roundtable Discussion was a little different, as Debbie Lannap facilitates discussion with two of our normal "facilitators", Francis Obaika and myself coming in as guests. We had fun talking amongst ourselves about our favourite topic "Dynamic Communication". We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed recording it.

He founded the Think Tank "Skaberkraft", that aims to stir the imagination as well as the conversation on how to build the best possible future of Europe.
More recently Hermund, together with his wife Linn, founded the Zebr Institute, that exists to build entrepreneurial capacity and culture in order to build flourishing societies for all.

Lance McKinney has been in YWAM for the last 26 years… he arrived is Spain to do a 5 month DTS and fell in love… with Spain and Tabita! Lance and Tabita have been married for 24 years and have 2 amazing children: Kevin (20 years old, working full time with his dad for the last 3 years) and Jessica (18 years old currently on outreach in the Philippines with her Fire and Fragrance DTS). Lance and Tabita are a part of YWAM Madrid and YWAM Spain’s leadership teams. They also lead the evangelistic ministry Impact World in and from Spain. They have an amazing team of 40+ full time and are seeing literally thousands come to Christ every year. Lance is committed to reaching the Lost, inspiring and challenging the church and raising up a radical generation of Christ followers.
Lisa has been with the International Discipleship Training School Centre (IDTSC) for over 20 years, pioneering schools, teaching and training. She is currently co-leading the European IDTSC team.

Jeff has spoken in over 100 countries around the world, in various churches, TV programmes, and YWAM centers. Jeff has been a missionary for over twenty-five years, where he led training for Mercy Ships and helped pioneered various missional initiatives around the world. Fiona Gifford gave a stimulating interview with the ELLC Leadership Lounge. During it she touched on two issues that this clip shows. She spoke about “Adrenaline junkies”, leaders who don’t know how to pause. She also spoke about a conference she ran in the early 2000’s. It responded to a message Loren gave where he said YWAM needed to move ahead with three strands. These strands were about including the indigenous leaders, including women and including young people.
Jonny Clarck is living in Northern Ireland and convenes ywam in Ireland.
Jonny stirs us up to increase our innovation, compassion and passion during this season we are living in. He gives examples where those 3 words are applied and lead to a bigger expression of Gods love.

Having recently completed his PhD in education through the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies. John, and his wife Suzi, led a YWAM campus for 17 years and have lived in intentional community in the UK for 35 years. They mentor and train leaders in many nations.
Our June Round Table Discussion features Belinda Chaplin chatting to Mombo and Juan Galloway. They have been serving for over 30 years in full-time ministry as pastors, urban missionaries, and non-profit leaders. They are now travelling internationally to help develop staff and leaders, and are committed to spending 6 months of every year in Europe. Juan is busy researching the YWAM values around the world to eventually write a book about how to practically apply them in our bases and nations. They are parents to 4 grown-up children and have oodles of experience in many different ministry contexts, and love to be able to pass along their knowledge and experience. When we come together to hear God's voice there can be lots of ideas and thoughts on what He is saying and how he is leading. As leaders we can often be in the position of facilitating these times of hearing from God and there are a few things that are important to remember when in that position.
Camille is an educator with a wide diversity of teaching experience, and have served the College of Education in University of the Nations for many years. As the Iron Curtain was crumbling, Camille led a five-year educational project with YWAM in Albania. It led to her pursuit of a doctorate in education. Her research focused on leadership succession, later she turned her findings into a business fiction book entitled, We’re in this Boat Together: Leadership Succession Between the Generations. In 2019 Camille published her second book Courageous Teaching: Educators Who Dare to Be Transformed. Camille is passionate about coming alongside younger leaders.

Romkje Fountain was convenor of the Hope for Europe Women in Leadership Network for many years and has handed over this responsibility recently. She and her husband Jeff have been part of the organization Youth with A Mission and although not ‘youth’ anymore continue to work with the organization as mentors to the younger generation. She has also served the boards of different organizations, like the Dutch EA, Alpha Netherlands, Compassion and others. Also with Jeff she has conducted tours through Europe to show how much Europe was and is effected by the Gospel. She is a promotor of Women in Leadership and is encouraged by the example of people like Corrie ten Boom, for whom she worked as secretary when a young woman, and historic heroes like Catherina von Bora, Luther’s wife.
Christy explores the idea of how we care for creation, that there is no ‘away’ when we finish with something. Looking at how we as Christians are called to love our neighbor and what this means in relation to caring for creation.

Tove Poulsen interviews Paleoclimatologist Dr Ben Richards along with “scientific translator” and Fine Artist Christy Summerton, two of the founders of the ‘Creation Care Hub’ team in YWAM Paisley. They aim to serve YWAM with teaching and examples of how caring with God for His Creation integrates with His wider mission, - and very much resonates with especially the younger generation.
