THE FOUNDER and CO-FOUNDER

Christy Buss and Darius Clark

Dancing offers freedom of self that cannot be displayed in anything else we do as humans. Turning on your toes, getting into the air, and waltzing across a hardwood floor are all joys we can experience in the name of dancing without shame. As a choreographer, I’ve always enjoyed the rewards of teaching others to view themselves differently, so they take themselves to different places.

WHY HEDO?

Products that celebrate people

Success is all about how you see yourself. The joy of looking into a mirror being happy with healthy, nurtured skin is limitless. You can go out and manifest anything you put your mind to, all with confidence. I love to dance, laugh and teach. My family would describe me as a curious person with a zest for learning new things. I created HEDO to aid in your everyday routine for success.

I am not an author by trade. My purpose is to educate and entertain children. Some people are genuinely authors, and they live by their pen. While I always thought I would write my life story one day, I never perceived writing books for Children. The twists in your life determine some of the journeys that you take. My forks in the road are Sarcoidosis and Breast Cancer.

Sarcoidosis is an auto-immune disease that can attack joints, eyes,

lungs, heart, and other organs. It does not have a cure and has taken the lives of two very famous people most of us know. One is comedian Bernie Mack and the others NFL Football Star Reggie White. The Sarcoidosis I have attacks my lungs and joints. Not breathing gives

you, perspective and someone telling you that you have a terminal disease can be mentally devastating if you don't have strong faith. I was diagnosed with this life twist in 2011. It (The Sarcoidosis) stopped

me momentarily but did not keep me down. I went back to working 60 to 70 hours

per week and to what most people would consider everyday life.

My Mom became deathly ill in 2013, a bowel prolapse that became gangrene. I

was working and going back and forth to help with her care. I had a severe accident that year. I fell asleep behind the van I was driving wheel, but I made it through again. However, my Mom transitioned on my brother's birthday in November of that year. She told me that she was ready, so my mind was at ease, and her death did not hurt me as much as I thought it would.

found a lump in my right breast in May of 2014. I was not alarmed because I was scared before due to a clot I found in my left breast in 1988. The surgeon removed 27 small benign cysts then. So, in my mind, I thought it was just a cyst, but I kept my eye on it. I felt a benign cyst grow at an alarming rate from the size of a pea to the size of an egg in about 8 to 10 weeks. I

went to see my doctor, and we scheduled a mammogram. After the results came back, I went to lump biopsied. The surgeon told me I regret to inform you. I was in shock, so much so that I didn't even ask him what stage or grade. I just thanked him for the information and continued traveling to work. This new life twist, will I live or die? For a moment, I broke mentally. I woke up and

started researching Breast Cancer. There are forty different types of BreastCancer. Wow! My excellent doctor's oncologist wanted me to start Chemotherapy after the bi-lateral mastectomy surgery. She didn't know that I had planned to take the Chemo. She told me; I give you five years to live without it. (Chemotherapy) Here is the kicker, the pathology report was inconclusive. I was thought to have triple-positive breast cancer. When I read the

news, it said that this test is inconclusive in small print at the bottom. I went to my family Doctor, and we read the report together, and she confirmed that the report stated that they did not know what kind of breast cancer I had. Meanwhile, my oncologist still was pressing Chemotherapy again. I said no, I wanted to have the

Oncotype DX test to determine the type of breast cancer in that tumor. She told me to take it could take 6 to 8 weeks. I told her; we would have to wait.

Hello, my name is Mia Hodge. I am 24 years old and the owner of Massage Mi. I have been massaging since 2019. While planning to become a physical therapist in high school, I learned about massage therapy, and once I knew of the benefits, it stuck with me even through college. After a few years of battling what I wanted to do, I became a massage therapist. Knowing that I could eliminate stress from people's lives in a natural way was so intriguing to me. Becoming more and more familiar with the body and how it works motivated me to keep going, plus I love anatomy and physiology. When I massage my clients, I aim to provide an experience that makes someone forget. I want to put their mind at ease, forget the stressful workday, and indulge in self-care. Currently, I specialize in Swedish massage, Clinical Neuromuscular therapy, and Trigger Point therapy. Recently I became certified in lymphatic drainage, and shortly, I plan to gain certification in Lypossage, Hot Stone, Cupping, and many more.

Garry graduated from Penn State University with multiple degrees (Business Development, Psychology, and Advertising), which he puts to good use in his post-professional football career. During his successful NFL football career (Seattle Seahawks / San Francisco 49ers), Garry learned valuable business and life lessons on the field that enhanced his character, perspective, focus, and business acumen off the field. A serial entrepreneur and prolific businessman, Garry uses his businesses to not only complement and enhance one another, but he prioritizes community support through youth empowerment and mentorship, as well. With a belief that a community is only as strong as the services, resources, and businesses that support it, Garry was determined to find ways to solve some of the biggest needs and fractures within society. It was while playing with the Seahawks that Garry first channeled his vision for a sustainable, mixed-use community eco-system into what is now The Bridge Eco-Village in Harrisburg. When complete, The Bridge Eco-Village will feature solutions to many of the problems facing underserved communities: housing, retail, co-working spaces, education opportunities, entrepreneurship incubators, urban agriculture, sports, and entertainment. With plans to expand The Bridge model across the USA and Africa, Garry recognizes that ambitious plans for business expansion depend on meaningful collaboration continued personal and professional development, and the recognition that the businesses of the future must prioritize environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

Tye Hill is an American former college and professional football cornerback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for five seasons. He played college football for Clemson University and earned consensus All-American honors. He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and Detroit Lions.

Hill was born in St. George, South Carolina. He attended Woodland High School in Dorchester, South Carolina, and played high school football. During his senior year, he rushed for 1,445 yards in seven games.

Hill attended Clemson University, where he played for the Clemson Tigers football team from 2001 to 2005. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in human resource development. Hill was an All-American selection in 2005 and also a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) choice. He was also a finalist for the Thorpe Award, given to the nation’s top defensive back. He had three interceptions, defended 7 passes, and 54 total tackles. In 2004 Hill defended 21 passes, two tackles for a loss, and a sack to go along with his 52 tackles. In 2003, he started 11 of the 13 games and had seven pass breakups and two interceptions in his first season as a defensive back while also totaling 37 tackles. In 2002 Hill was a running back and was Clemson's third-leading rusher as a freshman with 225 yards on 42 carries and led all Tiger running backs in yards per carrying (5.4). In 2001, he red-shirted as a running back.

Hill was also an accomplished member of the track and field team at Clemson, winning three ACC championships and several all-conference accolades.

In 2004, he came in first in the 60-meter dash at the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championship with a time of 6.71 seconds.

He also posted personal bests of 10.27 seconds in the 100 meters and 20.97 seconds in the 200 meters.

While at the 2006 NFL Combine he also posted the fastest electronically timed 40-yard dash—4.30 seconds.

Hill was drafted in the first round (15th overall) by the St. Louis Rams in the 2006 NFL Draft. On July 31, 2006, Hill signed a five-year $10.2 million contract with the Rams.[5] In his rookie season, he started in ten out of 16 games and finished the year with 50 tackles and three interceptions. Hill started his NFL career with a bang by recording two tackles and an interception, in the season opener against the Broncos. He capped the season by being named Rams Rookie of the Year and was voted to the 2006 All-Rookie honors from PFWA. For the 2007 season, he played in eight games and finished the season with 35 tackles and one interception. However, that interception was instrumental in the Rams 13-7 victory over the Divisional rival 49ers, in San Francisco on November 18, 2007. He finished the season on injured reserve. In 2008, in four starts, Hill totaled 20 tackles, 2 pass deflections, and a forced fumble. Hill tore cartilage in his knee which forced him to sit out the rest of the season after playing only four games. It was the second straight season he ended on injured reserve.

Hill was signed to a one-year contract by the Tennessee Titans on March 30, 2010. He was waived by the team on September 4, 2010.

Hill was signed by the Detroit Lions on December 2, 2010. On March 4, 2011, the Detroit Lions elected not to tender Hill making him an unrestricted free agent.

Now today Tye Hill currently is a franchise owner of a Golden Corral Restaurant.

I am not an author by trade, actually, my purpose is to educate and entertain children. There are people that are truly authors and they live by their pen. While I always thought I would write my life story one day, I never perceived that I would write books for Children. The twists in your life, really determine some of the journeys that you take. My forks in the road are Sarcoidosis and Breast Cancer.

Sarcoidosis is an auto-immune disease that can attack a person’s joints, eyes,

lungs, heart, and other organs. It does not have a cure and has taken the lives of two very famous people most of us know. One is comedian Bernie Mack and the others NFL Football Star Reggie White. The Sarcoidosis I have attacks my lungs and joints. I was diagnosed with this life twist in 2011. Not being able to breathe gives

you, perspective and someone telling you that you have a terminal disease can be mentally devastating if you don’t have strong faith. It (The Sarcoidosis) stopped

me momentarily but did not keep me down. I went back to working 60 to 70 hours

per week and to what most people would consider a normal life.

My Mom became deathly ill in 2013, a bowel prolapse that became gangrene. I

was working and going back and forth to help with her care. I had a serious accident that year. I fell asleep behind the wheel of the van I was driving, but I made it through again. My Mom though made the transition on my brother’s birthday in November of that year. She told me that she was ready, so my mind was at ease and her death did not hurt me as much as I thought it would.

I found a lump in my right breast in May of 2014. I was not alarmed, because I had a scare before, due to a lump I found in my left breast in 1988. The surgeon removed 27 small benign cysts then. So, in my mind, I thought it was just a cyst, but I kept my eye on it. This thing that I thought was a benign cyst grew at an alarming rate from the size of a pea to the size of an egg in about 8 to 10 weeks. I

went to see my doctor and we scheduled a mammogram. After the results came back, I went to have the lump biopsied. The surgeon told me, I regret to inform you, it is Breast Cancer. I was in shock, so much so, that I didn’t even ask him what stage or grade. I just thanked him for the information and continued traveling to work. This new life twist, will I live or die? For a moment I died mentally. I woke up and

started researching Breast Cancer. There are forty different types of BreastCancer. Wow! My oncologist, a wonderful doctor wanted me to start chemotherapy after the bi-lateral mastectomy surgery. She just didn’t know that I had is not planned to take the Chemo. She told me; I give you five years to live without it. (Chemotherapy) Here is the kicker, the pathology report was inconclusive. I was thought to have triple-positive breast cancer. When I read the

report, it said in small print at the bottom, this test is inconclusive. I went to my family Doctor and we read the report together and she confirmed that the report stated that that they did not know what kind of breast cancer I had. Meanwhile, my oncologist still was pressing Chemotherapy, again I said no, I wanted to have the

Oncotype DX test to determine what type of breast cancer was in that tumor. She told me to take could take 6 to 8 weeks. I told her; we will just have to wait. (She just

didn’t get it; I really had decided I wasn’t going to take the Chemo.)

After the Oncotype DX testing, the results were; that I have ER+ Breast Cancer. This is an Estrogen receptive cancer. Again, she was insisting on Chemotherapy. She didn’t know that I had been researching, about all the different types of breast

cancer and the medications used to treat them. I declined the treatment; my family doctor was not happy with my decision.

Levon Kirkland is an American football coach and former professional player. A second-round draft choice of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1992 NFL Draft, he played 11 years as a linebacker in the National Football League, including nine seasons with the Steelers, and one each for the Seattle Seahawks and the Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football for the Clemson Tigers.

Kirkland was a massive inside linebacker, just 6'1" but weighing anywhere from 275-300 pounds during his career. Despite his size, he had great speed and agility. He became a starter at inside linebacker for the Steelers in his second season, 1993, replacing Pro Bowler David Little.

On August 14, 1995, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Kirkland to a four-year, $6 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $900,000.

By 1995, he was recognized as one of the top inside linebackers in the league and had a stellar performance in Super Bowl XXX against the Dallas Cowboys at the end of the season. In that game, the Steeler's defense held the Cowboys to just 15 first downs and Emmitt Smith and the Cowboy's powerful running attack to just 56 yards, despite losing 27–17 in large part due to two key interceptions thrown by Steelers quarterback Neil O'Donnell. Kirkland had 10 tackles and a key sack of Dallas quarterback Troy Aikman.

That game and his outstanding 1996 season earned Kirkland his first trip to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors after the 1996 season. The Steelers had lost their emotional leader, outside linebacker Greg Lloyd, at the start of the season to a knee injury, but Kirkland took over the mantle of leadership. He also took over Lloyd's role in pass coverage as the only linebacker in the Steelers nickel defense. Opponents thought Kirkland would not be as adept in pass coverage as the fast Lloyd, but they quickly found out that Kirkland was just as fast and quick. He had four interceptions that season, a high number for an inside linebacker, to go along with four sacks and 114 tackles.

Kirkland made the Pro Bowl after the 1997 season as well, making a career-high and team-leading 126 tackles and career-high five sacks, as the Steelers went to the AFC Championship game (losing to the Denver Broncos). Although Kirkland played well in the next three seasons (1998–2000), the Steelers struggled on offense and failed to make the playoffs, and Kirkland did not earn any more Pro Bowl berths despite his strong play.

In a surprise move, the Steelers waived Kirkland just before the 2001 season due to salary cap pressure[citation needed]. That year many star players were waived due to the salary cap including John Randle, Troy Aikman, and Jerry Rice. Kirkland went to the Seattle Seahawks where he became a leader on the defense and had over 100 tackles. The next year, he played his final season for the Eagles, becoming the veteran leader of a defense that ranked seventh in the league and advanced to the NFC Championship game before losing to the Buccaneers.

In 1996, Kirkland was named to Clemson University's All-Centennial team and was inducted into the University's Hall of Fame in 2001. After retiring from the NFL, he returned to Clemson and earned his sociology degree in 2004, and worked for Clemson coordinating minority recruitment in admissions for the university. He was inducted into the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008. Kirkland also educates student-athletes across the country on the college recruiting process as an Educational Speaker for the National Collegiate Scouting Association.

After coaching linebackers for Wade Hampton High School in Greenville, South Carolina in 2009, Kirkland worked as the assistant head coach at Woodmont High School in South Carolina until November 2011 when he was named the head coach for Shannon Forest Christian School in Greenville, South Carolina. In March 2013, Kirkland accepted a job coaching linebackers at Florida A&M University.

in the midst of the Jim Crow South. The youngest daughter of a black business owner in the

citrus industry and an insurance agent with one of the first black-owned companies. She learned

from her parents that hard work doesn’t guarantee success, but it is a necessary requirement to

achieve it. And worked hard she did. She went on to enroll at the University of Florida on a full-

ride scholarship, where she graduated with honors and excelled in intercultural and international

relations Immediately after, she became a JD candidate at the University of Florida, earning her

degree as one of the few pioneering black women in the class.

Thompson-McClary has a tough, fighter’s spirit, a spirit she brings to each case, ensuring her

clients always receive the personalized plan and attention to detail they deserve.

Thompson-McClary spent many years at one of the largest law firms in Orlando, but after the

firm’s rising reputation of racism, Thompson-McClary felt the need to connect with her clients

more deeply and embark on a journey of her own. She decided to start her own private firm in

1985 where she specializes in complex family, criminal, and probate litigation. Thompson-

McClary’s track record in her practice has been outstanding. Practicing in the federal Middle District

of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals as well as state and local government.

Being able to successfully obtain the reduction of sentence of the release of a prisoner sentenced t

life imprisonment at 18 years of age after serving nearly 30 years. Also successful in representing

a community and halting the acquisition and building of an expansion by a hospital corporation

over historical roads and properties owned by African American residents.

But it’s not all gavels and juries when it comes to Beryl Thompson-McClary. As the wife and

career manager of the Founder and lead guitarist of The Commodores, Thompson-McClary

enjoys attending music festivals, concerts, and shows with her husband. She is also an author.

Her new book The Next Chapter (October 2019) was written to encourage people to perform,

dream, and believe beyond their expectations and to never let their age deter them from

achieving excellence. Recently, Thompson-McClary and her husband Thomas became empty-

nesters. When Thompson-McClary isn’t advising and fighting eagerly for her clients, she’s

visiting one of her seven adult children in Nashville or New York.

Shaylon combines those two effortlessly. She wanted to be a school counselor but chose to go into the medical field instead. But that teaching instinct never left her. Writing children's books is her way of reaching children without being a teacher. She wants to help children understand the different feelings, and emotions they encounter in the big world around them. She wants them to know that it is okay to feel, and ask questions. Imagine building from the ground up with no family and being detached from the one person you did know?” She experienced many obstacles but never quit! In May of 2020, the Procurement Princess started her spiritual journey. “I began to watch tarot readings and dating coaches nonstop and realized that a lot of what I was seeing, I had already felt and ultimately known intuitively.” Glow quickly ordered her first deck of tarot cards and history has been writing itself ever since! After a solid year of amazing feedback, Gabby is gearing up to launch her “by Glow” line of healing and manifestation products! The line will be released late spring/early summer 21’ and will include items such as candles, spiritual baths, manifestation jars, and more! All items will be handmade, blessed, and dressed by Glow. Horace Jenkins an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and several teams in Europe and Israel.

Jenkins graduated from New Jersey's Elizabeth High School in 1993.

Jenkins played one season at Union County College, before leaving to tend to the birth of his son, Hakeem. Over the next three and a half years, Jenkins worked for the United States Postal Service, as an electrician, and on the back of a garbage truck. Once he saved up some money, he decided he wanted to go back to college, and play basketball.

While at William Paterson University, Jenkins was a three-time Division III Player of the Year (1999, 2000, and 2001). He was also a three-time Division III All-American. He holds numerous school records, and also was named 2001 Basketball Times Division III Player of the Year. Jenkins was also the winner of the 2001 ESPN NCAA dunk contest, beating former Division I standout Jeff Trepagnier. USC's Trepagnier, one of the college's most prolific high flyers, missed his last dunk attempt, and the 6'1" (1.85 m) tall Jenkins, had one up his sleeve, wrapping it up with a foul line two-foot leaner.

Jenkins attended all three NBA pre-draft camps, but he was undrafted in the 2001 NBA Draft. In the summer of 2001, Jenkins attended rookie camp with the Orlando Magic and also received an invitation to training camp with Orlando. However, he declined the invitation and signed with Cimberio Borgomanero, a team in the Italian second league. He received a guaranteed one-year contract. He spent the 2002 NBA Summer League with the New York Knicks, and the 2003 Summer League with the Seattle SuperSonics.

Horace Jenkins got his break in the summer of 2004, playing in the NBA Summer League with the Detroit Pistons. He was previously playing with AEK Athens of the Greek Basket League, with Pistons draft pick Andreas Glyniadakis. Pistons president Joe Dumars was watching a film of Glyniadakis and spotted Jenkins. Jenkins averaged 20.1 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.8 steals in 12 EuroLeague games with AEK Athens. Impressed, Dumars invited Jenkins to summer camp in 2004. In summer camp, he averaged 8.2 points and 2.8 assists per game in 5 games. That was enough to garner a guaranteed contract from the Pistons, which he signed on August 4, 2004. His contract was a one-year deal worth $385,277.

Jenkins started the 2004–05 NBA season on the injured list, but he did see NBA game action 15 times. He was on the bench for the raising of the Pistons' 2004 championship banner, as well as the Pacers–Pistons brawl. Rumors circulated that he was being traded to the Chicago Bulls, and also that he was going to leave the Pistons and return to Italy. His NBA debut was a two-minute stint against the San Antonio Spurs. He scored 9 points the next night against the New Orleans Hornets. Jenkins scored a career-high 10 points on December 10, 2004, against the Atlanta Hawks. He was one of only three Pistons to score in double figures in that game. He scored 2 points in his hometown of New Jersey on February 5, 2005. Five nights later, in a rematch of the 2004 NBA Finals, Jenkins scored 8 points, in only 6 minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers. He scored 6 points in 20 minutes in his final NBA game, which was against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Although he was left off the playoff roster, the Pistons made the NBA Finals for the second straight year. Jenkins was notable for being one of the oldest rookies in the NBA, and his life story was the subject of a short presentation narrated by Jamie Foxx, on ABC, during the 2005 NBA Finals. Jenkins took the long route to the NBA, working to support his family, and then playing in Europe, before signing his first NBA contract, at the age of 29.

Carter was a four-year starter during his playing days at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. His on-field and academic performance earned him a scholarship to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. During his collegiate career as one of the university‘s prominent athletes playing along with future NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens, he grew a passion for Exceptional Learning and the study of Psychology. Chris Carter graduated from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga with a B.S. in Exceptional Learning and a Master in Psychology from Lee University. In 2006 Chris became Chattanooga Tennessee's first African American Head Football Coach and GM of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) Tennessee RiverSharks.

Chris’s gift of coaching led him to Garinger High School in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2008. The football program at Garinger High School had a 5-year losing streak. As a determined head football coach, within 2 years, Chris led them to victory as the 4A Queen City Conference Champions. Chris was named ‘Coach of the Year’ by The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte Coaches Association, and The Queen’s City Conference.

Garinger’s football program was on a five-season losing streak, including 60 consecutive losses when Carter became head coach. Within two seasons, he coached the program to the Class 4A Queen City Conference Championship.

Moving on to become head coach at Lake Marion in 2009, Carter was named the 2015 South Carolina High School League Class 2A Football Coach of the Year and the 2015 Times and Democrat Co-Coach of the Year as he led the Gators team to the program’s first Lower State Championship game. In seven years at Lake Marion, 20 graduating football players have signed with collegiate programs and two players have been ranked among the top three players in the state. Also, five Lake Marion football players have played in various all-star games. He trained and coached Mike Williams, the national champion wide receiver of the Clemson Tigers and the highest drafted player from Orangeburg County as the number 7 pick in the 2017 NFL draft and Alex Brown, a super bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs. Both born in Holly Hill SC.

Additionally, Carter helped increase the average grade-point average of his teams during his tenure at Lake Marion. Edisto High School hired Chris Carter from Lake Marion High School to become the athletic director and head football coach for the Cougars to turn around their winless football program. Carter has since stepped down from coaching to concentrate full-time on his athletic director duties. Carter has been a teacher and coach for over 20 years.

Carter is also the Regional Director of Grind University 247 an organization created to train future leaders through sports. Utilizing different components of the game to teach life skills to help equip the next young generation. www.grinduniversity24.com
