The Three with Azalea Reason is a podcast which celebrates the people who have changed our lives for the better. Each week a different interviewee will share about the three people they have encountered who have inspired them, impacted them, or altered the direction in their life in some way.

My guest this week is Vjosa Pacuku - the global make-up artist, founder and CEO of Duart beauty and a bona fide influencer. Vjosa has a talent and gritty determination which has seen her break through the notoriously overcrowded world of beauty influencers and gurus. But its not her obviously glittering career which peaks my interest - we talk about The Three People who changed Vjosa and I learn about her early early life. Vjosa bravely and openly shares about the war in Kosovo in 1998/1999 - which resulted in her family seeking asylum in the United States and becoming refugees when she was just twelve years old. The very personification of The American Dream - talking to Vjosa about the formative part of her life felt like a privilege for me - I hope you feel as moved and inspired by her story as I did.

This week’s guest on The Three is Channel 4’s presenter for ‘A Place in The Sun’, property developer and clothing designer Leenesh Juggurnauth, who talks us through his inner awakening upon reading the book ‘Natives’ by Akala. His favourite teacher – Reverend Bennett, who always encouraged him to pursue a career in media and the life coach who helped him grow into the man he was destined to be. LJ Parkinson – actor, drag king superstar, queer rights activist – LJ is both a feminist and a masculinist who joins The Three to talk about the three people who have inspired and changed her life for the better. We kick off with Richard O’Brien – the creator of The Rocky Horror show. We hear how this seminal movie expanded her horizons and introduced her to a world of queerness where she found both inner identification and outer inspiration. LJ talks about healing her fractured relationship with men through her fabulous drag king alter-ego – Louis Cyfer. We also hear about how the theatre company Milk Presents inspired a new way of life for LJ – helping her break away from the wild and sometimes dark world of London’s Soho. We touch on topics such as toxic masculinity, substance abuse and trauma – oh and I share with LJ about a secret admirer she never knew she had!
