Hi, I'm your host Dawn-Marie Mutell. I've been a fashion hound since I was 3 years old. I became a Certified Image Consultant through The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC in 2002 so that I could teach women (and some good men) "how" to create their unique personality through style and help them build their confidence so that they could look and feel their best when they left their homes and went to work. And, as a former Skin Technician and makeup artist Clinique Cosmetics headquarters in NYC, it became my mission to help thousands of women learn how to care for mature skin so that they didn't have to be a slave to makeup. Makeup should enhance beauty not spend hours putting it on.
In this podcast, I'll cover all of the tips and tricks of fashion, skincare, beauty, and how to build your online presence so that you can rock your business without worrying about how you look. I will help you create an arsenal of tools to help make your life more manageable, give you back your time and let you be more productive.

Happy Valentine's Day to you! Today's episode is a quick reminder on how we shouldn't forget the importance of self-care and self-love for all that we do each day. Our lives are pretty hectic these days and for all the things we do for others, and all of the hats we wear, it's time to take yourself to a stay-cation, a spa day, or something to treat you like the queen you are.
Never think that taking care of yourself is a selfish thing, or, that you aren't thinking of others when you do something nice for yourself. Instead, learn the concept of caring for you = caring for others. We can't love others if we don't love ourselves. But, we must take it a step further and DO for ourselves as well.
Here's to stealing moments in life that are just for you. Put up those boundaries and get your life back.

Hello Beautiful Dishers, I hope life is treating you well. We just had a horrible hurricane pass through, thankfully it just missed my area but there are so many other areas south of me that weren't so lucky. My prayers are out for all the families to have a quick recovery. Today's episode is about staying the course, and to continue to keep fighting the good fight when things get tough. You have to psyche yourself out to stay strong. Your mindset is going to help push you through. Staying motivated is a toughie. In order for you to reach your big goals, you're going to have to stay the course and reach the finish line. Each time you do, it'll get you that much closer to reaching your dreams. How do you feel about wearing slightly worn or used clothing? Some people can't deal with it. I myself have been wearing vintage and Goodwill finds for years. If you like to see some, check out the video on the Dish It with Dawn YouTube channel to see what I've found. Secondhand clothing shouldn't be looked down upon. There are so many items out there to choose from. Think about consignment shops, flea markets, yard sales, stoop sales or your local Salvation Army or Good Will stores. Think twice before you purchase something new, try on a find at your local store and save yourself tons of money. It's National Lipstick Day and what better day to try a new lip color? A study done by the University of Michigan showed that men stared at women wearing red lip color 7.3 seconds vs. 2.2 seconds with those wearing no lip color? Lipstick has been around for thousands of years, they've done everything from using crushed gemstones in Mesopotamia, even crushed bugs (thank goodness we've since evolved). The first lipstick company was made in 1884 by Guerlain (one of my faves). They even have a lipstick called Kiss Kiss Gold & Diamond which costs a hefty $62,000. You read that right! And, in 2015 MAC cosmetics raised $380 million dollars with their Viva Glam fundraiser for aids. That's a lot of lipsticks being sold! What I love most about lipstick is that it's one of the quickest ways to brighten your face, make you feel refreshed and feeling great! Why not make a lip color your go-to for branding your business? Why not find some creative ways you can incorporate lip colors into your daily life. Think about Jennifer Lopez, she's made her mark with her nude glossy lips or Madonna with her vibrant Red lips.
