Creator of the half guard, two time world champion, and four time pan American champion, Gordo has been teaching since the 90’s and received his black belt in 1993 by the hands of Carlos Gracie Junior.
Today Roberto Gordo Correa is regarded as one of the best Jiu-Jitsu instructors. Many big names in the Jiu-Jitsu and MMA game come to him regularly to request his technical advice.

This week on the show we are joined by one of our founder members Nicky Simpson.
Nic has many accolades to her name, here are just a few: she's been a firefighter for over 12, a high-level cross-fit competitor, a Muay Thai fighter, an International rugby player and she is also one of a few REORG sponsored athletes.
Last year she was promoted to blue belt on the podium after winning her division at the English Open. She now continues to train alongside the rest of her family here at GBRL.

This week on the show we are joined by Professor Paul Bridges who holds a third-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – and can lay claim to being one of the pioneers of the art in the United Kingdom.
Having achieved a black belt in freestyle karate, he switched to BJJ after seeing Royce Gracie’s win UFC 1 and was awarded his black belt in 2009 by Marc Walder and Mauricio ‘Motta’ Gomes making Paul one of the UK “Dirty Dozen” (the first twelve UK born Black Belts).
Prof Paul is also the owner of Gracie Barra Hastings where he teaches alongside his wife Ali who is also a black belt in BJJ.

This week on the show we are honoured to be joined by the legendary Master Mauricio Gomes
Mauricio is now an 8th-degree Coral Belt in BJJ having started at the age of 4. He was awarded his black belt in 1981 from Rolls Gracie entering into a group now known as 'The Famous Five' - people who were awarded black belts from Rolls prior to his tragic death.
Mauricio pioneered BJJ in the UK having come to Birmingham in 1998 starting Gracie Barra UK. He awarded the first 3 British Black Belts ( Mark Walder, Jude Samuel, Rick Young) and is the father of Roger Gracie who is considered the greatest of all time!

Kurt is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, under Ralph Gracie. Osiander is one of the cult heroes in BJJ’s community, having been an active competitor since the mid 1990’s. Kurt Osiander’s straight forward personality and witty comments expressed in his video blog (Kurt Osiander’s Move of the Week) have given us well recognized phrases such as “shut up and train”, "go train!" and “you f****d up a long time ago”, now echoed in academy around the world!
Kurt's authenticity and no BS attitude has turned him into one of the most beloved personalities in the sport!

This week on the show we are privileged to be joined by a 5th-degree black belt under Master Carlos Gracie Jr, multiple-time world champion and European champion - Prof Carlos Lemos Jr. (@carloslemosjrgb)
Prof Carlos started BJJ at the age of 14 having previously trained TKD and Judo. He quickly earned the nickname “Escorrega” meaning slippery on account of him being so hard to hold down.
In 2004 Carlos Lemos was given the task to spread Jiu Jitsu in Europe, Escorrega followed Carlos Gracie’s instructions and successfully built several Gracie Barra academy's on the continent, where he graduated a few BJJ practitioners, namely: Niclas Gustafsson (@therealnicoboyish) and Peter Berglund (@blackb31t) from Sweden, Salvadore Pace (@gracie_barra_bath_) Federico Tisi (@federico_tisi) who is the head of the @tribe_jiu_jitsu in Italy, Gibran Alvares (@gibrangbjj) in Cancun & Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Ryo Ominami (@ryoominamigb) black belt team representative in Japan and finally Markku Tapiola (@feragb), Joni Iman (@ramboz_amazinglife) and Jukka Lemola (@jukka_lemola) who are in charge of Gracie Barra in Finland.

This week on the North Leeds Jits Podcast we are joined by someone who has done it all in the world of grappling - Robert Drysdale!
Born in the US from a Brazilian mother and American father, and having spent his life between these two countries, Robert Drysdale remains the only American competitor to have ever won both the IBJJF and ADCC World Championships, the two most prestigious tournaments in all of Jiu-Jitsu. Furthermore, he has also cultivated a career in MMA, both as a fighter and as a coach.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History, as well as a long-held passion for this discipline. Prof. Robert has produced a yet to be released documentary on the history of Jiu-Jitsu in Brazil. Additionally, he has a book out called 'Opening Closed Guard' about the making of the documentary.
He lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. He is also the co-founder of the international team Zenith Jiu-Jitsu and is the father of two girls.

Prof. Bradley started BJJ at age 12 after meeting @victorestimagb. Subsequently, he received his black belt at the age of 22. He is well known as 'The Omaplata Man' from his use of the submission in high level competition!
