📖 Description:
✨ What if I told you… JESUS is greater than anything you’re facing. Greater than sin. Greater than addiction. Greater than fear. Greater than your past.
✨ Life is filled with unexpected moments that change the course of our lives. In Luke 1:26-56, we see one of history’s most extraordinary moments: the Annunciation. Mary, a humble teenager from Nazareth, is visited by the angel Gabriel and told she will bear the Son of God. Despite the uncertainty, Mary responds with faith, humility, and trust.

Waiting can be one of life’s greatest challenges—whether it’s for an answer to prayer, healing, or breakthrough. In Luke 1:5-25, the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth reminds us that God is always working behind the scenes, even in the silence.
Discover three powerful lessons from their journey:
Faithfulness in Waiting
Zechariah and Elizabeth remained righteous and steadfast in their devotion to God, even in their pain of unanswered prayers (Luke 1:6-7). Their faithfulness challenges us to trust God’s plan, even when the answers seem delayed.
God’s Delays Are Not Denials
When the angel Gabriel appeared to Zechariah, he declared, “Your prayer has been heard” (Luke 1:13). Though the timing felt impossible, God’s plan was perfect—not only for their personal blessing but to prepare the way for Jesus through their son, John the Baptist.
Responding to God’s Promises
Elizabeth’s gratitude and Zechariah’s eventual praise teach us the importance of responding to God’s faithfulness with faith and action (Luke 1:25). Even in seasons of doubt, God’s promises remain trustworthy.

God hears your prayers.
God sees your faithfulness.
God works in His perfect timing.
Stay faithful, trust His plan, and respond to His promises with gratitude and faith.

Message Notes 1 Samuel 13.13-14, NIV
David knew what worship was all about.
2 Samuel 6.12-19
David recognized that nothing was more important than the presence of God!
He worshiped for an audience of one.
David was not wearing his royal attire, and he was wearing the ephod, which was for the priest. The ephod David wore was made of fine linen and consisted of two pieces, covering both back and front (Exodus 28:6–8, 31–32). The two pieces were fastened together over the shoulders and held at the waist by a belt of some kind. The ephod worn by the high priests would have been different, as it was embroidered with gold and bright colors and somehow bore the Urim and Thummim by which God directed the people. David was showing the people that God is the head of this kingdom.

If we aren’t careful, we can stop pursuing the things of God and set ourselves up for disaster.

What should we do when we feel overlooked by God, by friends and family, and by life? Listen now to hear what David did when he felt overlooked. David’s early life was full of being overlooked. He went back out to the fields and continued to shepherd his flock. Can God trust you with your purpose? In 1 Samuel, chapter 17, we read the story of David and Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:28-37 28 When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.” 29 “Now what have I done?” said David. “Can’t I even speak?” 30 He then turned away to someone else and brought up the same matter, and the men answered him as before. 31 What David said was overheard and reported to Saul, and Saul sent for him. 32 David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.” 33 Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.” 34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”
*God doesn’t waste seasons of waiting if we stay focused!
Luke 16:10-12 10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own? Many battles are lost on the preparation.
1 Samuel 17:48-50 48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. 50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.
*Sometimes the battle is in the waiting, but other times it is in the advancing.
David was ready for the battle because the preparation had been years in the making! Are we living our lives preparing for battles?

This is the first time Israel called Jesus King. The word Hosanna means “please save us”
Psalm 118.25-29
Experience Him We come to know Jesus when we experience being in His presence.
So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. — Matthew 21:6
No doubt. No defiance. No delay. They just went and did!
It was an act of obedience to Jesus.
Too many Christ-followers today let what they think take priority over His actual commands.
Our lives should make people ask, “what is it about them?”
Do you and I have any less reason to praise Jesus; to shout our own hosannas today?

Heart: From Follower to Fan

Luke 10.27 A follower doesn’t fit Jesus into a nice spot in their life.
In this verse, the Greek word for first is prōtos. It means “first in time or place; first in rank; first, at the first”

When we allow our hearts to fade even in the slightest it is easy to begin to find other things to fill the void.
I hear it all the time as a pastor, “I am just going thru a season right now.” Revelation 3.14-16
It is so easy in life to become lukewarm in our walk.
Anything done halfway is miserable!
He is calling us back to a place of full devotion and love!
Covid has really caused many people to look at what is most important in life, some have seen the need to dig deeper in the walk with Jesus, but many have chosen to put their Faith on the backburner.
Joshua 6.1-20
The Walls of Jericho
The walls of Jericho loomed large over the Israelite camp below. The city appeared ready for the looming battle of Jericho. From inside the city walls the people must have surely watched as the Israelite nation crossed the Jordan, and set up camp within eyesight.
We are patching holes in walls that need to come down.
We are surrounded by walls. Everywhere. Walls of fear Walls of guilt Walls of anger Walls of bondage Walls of suspicion Walls of unforgiveness Walls of self-pity Walls of pride Walls of depression Walls of unbelief Walls keep us in. Walls keep others out. Walls create barriers between us.
It was never about the walls, it was about obedience.
God could have toppled the walls without the marching.
John 15.14-16
For seven days Israel circled, blew trumpets, and shouted. Circling and blasting trumpets isn’t a strategy. There might be a psychological component, but ultimately you need more than shouting to breach a fortified wall.
Shouting wasn’t their strategy, believing in God’s promise and power was their strategy.
That’s pretty much the message of the entire Bible, without God’s power and promises we’re done.
The Gospel isn’t, as John Piper says, a help-wanted sign. Jesus didn’t come to form a salvation co-op with us. Just as God’s mighty hand pressed down on the wall with such force that it buckled and fell, Jesus’ mighty hand did on the cross what none of us or all of us could ever do.
We can’t pull down the walls that Satan and sin build in our own power. We need God’s power to do it.
We need to get this straight, we don’t have the power to make those walls come down. Only God does. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a part to play. Our part is to have the faith to obey God.

Stacked Against: Ananias Acts 9.1-19 God called Ananias out of his comfort zone. God asked Ananias to find a man who had come with the purpose of arresting him, hauling him to Jerusalem to face the authorities and very well take his life.
Acts 22.12-16 God is not limited by the challenges that exist in the world, nor is He intimidated by trying circumstances. He is sovereign and reigns overall, including that messed up situation you may be confronting right now.
Hebrews 11.1-6 Faith is active according to A.W. Tozer, and it will “allow the teachings of Christ to dominate our total lives from the moment we believe.” This means we will “be different from others.”
Proverbs 8.17
Knowing that God rewards the faithful begins with us drawing close to Him, but faithfulness leads us to actively and outwardly imitate the one we trust.

1 Cor 12.7-11
Throughout the Bible, we see people demonstrate supernatural confidence in God’s promises, power, and presence. Their faith equips them to take outlandishly heroic stands for the future of God’s work in the church.
Many people find the idea of spiritual gifts confusing, scary, or weird. But the Holy Spirit is not meant to spook us. He is God within us, and his gifts help us to build up each other and the church in supernatural ways.
I am worried that Christianity has been hi-jacked by things that are not essential!
So many seem to be fighting for things that are not as important as eternity.
Ananias wanted to please God more than anything in his life! It is time for the world to KNOW us for our Faith!
