Motivation Monday - Move your Body, Move your Life
Each Monday I share stories and no nonsense tips on the parts of your life you have control of and what we can do to ensure they're helping us move forward in our mental and physical health!
Once in a while I take away all the technical stuff and make it as simple as possible. What are you doing today to intentionally prepare for a life you LOVE?
Confidence isn't just about singing in front of a room of people, it's also about believing and proving to yourself that you've got what it takes to action your habits, and achieve your goals. How do you build the confidence to go after your dream health?
“lose 6 pounds in 6 days” or whatever they say on the billboards. THAT is my biggest bug bare.
we are surrounded by health marketing promising you to go from zero to hero and we buy that EVERY SINGLE TIME.
who doesn’t want to be a hero in no time at all?! who doesn’t want a new body by summer?! they know this. so they promise it.
we’ve all fallen for it (I know I have). I’ve wished there was a pill - for sure. I’ve subscribed to the “plan”, drunk the shakes and nothing has happened. Did I blame the company? Nope. Did I blame myself? Yup. Did it help me get closer to my goals? NO (in actual fact, further away).
but I want to flip the question. if we’re wanting to be around for a long time, and have a REALLY good time doing it, what’s the fun in failing?
what does the opposite of zero to hero look like to your health?
Lifting weights or strength training is a key part of my strategy for overhauling your life since it's just one small daily habit that can upgrade so many other areas. Listen for the benefits and some practical advice on how to get started.
All this talk of the pursuit of health is completely pointless if we aren't going to stop and enjoy it from time to time. In this episode I discuss what this truly means and how to get it for you.
So many attempts at improving our health fail, it's a wide known issue that we're not great at self discipline or success rates.
When things go wrong we're so quick to blame circumstances or our tools, but I think the root of the issue is in our minds.
And it would be so silly to attempt to make any physical changes before you've made mental changes.
In this episode I go over 3 steps to changing your thought life to change your health.
It's so tiring guessing, and if we don't understand, it's even more frustrating. Why do we need to know how much is enough? Why should calories be on a menu? 10 minute listen will help you understand more about you.
We're so mean to ourselves when we trip, fail and don't achieve - but is there a reason for it? And if there is - what's a method for not failing so hard? Listen for my method.
In your pursuit of health, energy and time you'll have to give stuff up if you're wanting to add to your load. Knowing what you're willing to give up will help you shape the course of your journey.
Life is crazy busy, but waiting for it to not be is a HUGE waste of your time. Instead, let's treat our time like money and budget it, prioritise it and enjoy it! Listen for practical ways to make that happen.
Until you know you, you can't change you. It's so important to have a sense of identity before starting any self development process. Listen in to some ways in which you can begin to build your identity and then build a plan around that.
How we deal with failing to hit our own standards is a big deal. We aren't kind to ourselves, even though self discipline isn't a regular skill our society promotes. SO, how do we go against the grain and push ourselves to do THE thing...
You are you, not me, and only you know when and what brings you energy and what takes energy from you. This task is such an important one to understand yourself, and to ultimately build a life of consistent energy levels, which ultimately bring stability and the feeling of having control over your life!
I don't fancy working out just like I don't want to stack the dishwasher. Even though I know how good it'll make me feel (having a cleaner kitchen). Both things are non negotiable. So what can we do to motivate us to: a) schedule a workout and actually start it, b) use all our potential during the workout and c) make sure we do it again consistently enough to hit our goals. Enter: Visualisation.
Have you been told that 5am is the key to an energetic, successful, or "wealthy" life? I read about it, tried it and have some experience to share with you. Listen to find out how to wake up with energy.
Emotions can rob us of amazing things, including so many of the benefits of movement when we stop because we're feeling "...".
Listen in to find out why and how we need to take the emotion out of exercise.
This week I give you a 5 step plan to take hold of the negative thoughts that can enter our brain daily, and can sometimes scupper our plans to do what we know we can do!
Every week can feel like a battle. For good reasons, for bad reasons, for boring reasons. Without a pep talk, if can feel hard to remember your why. Save this episode for your Sunday prep sessions as you plan for the week ahead.
My ultimate goal is to equip people to be able to workout everyday, no matter what. No fees, no memberships, no coach.
So how do you do that?
Pick an activity: running, walking, squatting, circuits, cycling, ironing.
Add a time domain: 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hour, an afternoon...
Add a task priority goal: AMRAP, Intervals, For Time, EMOM
It's all well and good having goals, dreams and to do lists... But when will they actually come to fruition?
Letting things happen spontaneously isn't always as romantic as it sounds if it generally means they don't happen. So you'll need to plan.
In this episode I'll give you practical tips on how to be intentional about your life and what that looks like daily.
Long term goals are a thing of the past, even if they're achievable, they can be demotivational. This week I'll show you how to re-word your goals so that they are motivating, they are achievable and they happen daily.
This week I’ll give you 5 really simple and easy things you need to focus on over the next year to really take control of your pursuit of a you that feels EPIC.

This week I wanted to encourage you with defeating a barrier I am always met with when I begin to work with a new person. They say, "oh I don't have time". And then I respond by telling them they simply need to do 5 minutes, which is then always met with "well, that's not long enough!". In this video, I'll explain why IT IS ENOUGH (If you start today).

This week I'll discuss what to do when you've broken a habit, you're out of the habit or whatever you'd like to call some time off on purpose or by accident.
Since we're trying to build a lifelong habit that yields daily and future rewards, it's important we execute them daily... but when it doesn't always go to plan, we need a back up plan to get back into it.
This is a 4 step plan that I'll walk you through that can be put in place however big or small the habit is!
This week I discuss what the bare minimum you'll need to do in order to make a daily improvement on your health. If we just focus on the destination, we won't start, but if we look at the tiny things we need to do every day, it becomes manageable and often you forget about the length of time & feel more motivated daily. In this episode, I'll explain the 3 small daily things you need to do as a minimum and how they don't need to feel like more things on your to do list.
