I'm Lynn the creator of the blog "Living Large in A Small House". I'm passionate about decorating, cooking, entertaining, organizing, and gardening. I live in a 1,300 sq., ft., home with my husband who I call "Handy" on my blog. I'm Mom to three grown kids, Kenny who lives in LA, Annie who lives with her husband Tommy in Dallas, and Emma who lives with us in the suburbs of Chicago. We also have a 14-year-old Shih Tzu named Molly and 5 beautiful hens who provide us with organic, fresh eggs daily.
I'm pretty transparent about my life and what goes on at this small house!

I'm sharing my outlook on things from two years ago this week in March 2020. I thought there was an episode where we talked about Emma's adventures getting home from Spain during Covid but we must not have. We did however talk about our views on the Covid situation on 12/27/21.

We had so much fun with our friend Nathan & Philip of @happilyeveretter - They invited us to record our Podcast at their beautiful home in Palatine, Illinois. We talked about their work to preserve the old homes in their town, shared cocktails that we prepared for each other and just chatted about so many things - definitely didn't stay on script! Like usual! Etter's Cocktail Recipe: "Whiskey Business" Ingredients: 2 parts pumpkin spice black tea infused whiskey 1 part fresh lemon juice 1 part simple syrup 1 splash of club soda Add ice to your glass, add all of the ingredients and stir! Garnish with an orange slice and some luxardo maraschino cherries!
Lynn & Emma's Cocktail Recipe: No name because we are not creative Ingredients: 1 oz tequila 1/2 ounce of lime juice 1/2 ounce of hibiscus syrup 2 ounce of sparkling rose 1 hibiscus flower from the hibiscus syrup Shaking the 1st three ingredients with ice in a shaker, pour into a champagne flute, top with the 2 ounces of sparkling rose, and slip in the hibiscus flower! Nathan and Phillip Etter Instagram: @happilyeveretter Be sure to give them a follow as they have amazing style, great creativity and an impeccable home! Not to mention, they are SO SO funny!
