In Pursuit is all about pursuing Christ and learning about who you are in Him. Together we will learn to give ourselves the grace that He gives us daily and to walk with a “peace that surpasses all understanding”.
Welcome back! Thank you all for your support and encouragement during this season of rest. I am so thankful that I was able to make memories with my family and draw closer to God. On today's episode we continue on our topic of boundaries and talk about how our words hold power. Self-control is a fruit of the spirit and only we have the ability to ask God for that gift so that our words can be helpful and not harmful. Our words shape our thoughts, behaviors, and have influence over those around us.

Today we are continuing our topic on boundaries. Last week we discussed boundaries as they relate to time and today we are discussing when to set boundaries in relationships. I am NOT an expert and work continuously myself to implement healthy boundaries in my life. Knowing the boundaries are biblical and the parameters for which to set boundaries are in God's word should be a comfort to us!

Today we embark on the topic of boundaries! This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart as it is one that I have worked so hard on. Today we will talk about the boundary of time and how people pleasing can rob us from setting boundaries. I discuss the book The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst (you can find it on Amazon here!) and how the lessons from that book took a hold of my soul. If there are boundary topics you would like to hear more of please send your suggestions to inpursuitwithalyssamay@gmail.com.

Two days ago our country was hit by tragedy with the school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas where 19 children and two adults where killed by a mass shooter. This is the biggest school shooting since the shooting at Sandy Hook which occurred a little over ten years ago. During times like this it is hard to have hope and remain faithful but it is times such as these where we need Jesus more than ever.

We are carrying around a weight that is not ours to carry! As Christians we gave up this weight the moment that we accepted Christ as our savior. That doesn't mean that we always adhere to that or walk in His grace all the time. Thankfully He has enough grace for each of our days.

This week we continued our conversation with Connecticut Christian Author, Rebecca Hastings, on the topic of church hurt. We have found, as people who have experienced church hurt ourselves, that this is a common issue in Christian culture. Those who we have encountered have often felt alone and that they had done something wrong. We wanted to bring light to this topic in an honorable and tasteful way and let people know that even through the hurt God is good.
If you are interested in learning more about Rebecca you can find her on Instagram @myinkdance or check out her website to review and purchase her books at rebeccahastings.net.
Thank you Rebecca for your time, wisdom, and transparency. I truly appreciate you.

In today's episode we are joined by the lovely, and oh so talented, Christian author Ms. Rebecca Hastings. Rebecca and I met through the Mastering Motherhood ministry where she has come to speak to the mama's of our group on multiple occasions and has always left us with such wisdom. Today's episode tackles the topic of church hurt, a topic that both Rebecca and I are very passionate about and believe needs to be spoken about more. This topic was difficult but I believe that Rebecca did such a beautiful job of handling it with honor and grace.
If you would like to check out Rebecca you can find her on Instagram @myinkdance, you can also view her website at www.rebeccahastings.net and to get a copy of her newest book Daily Meditations for Christians, as well as her other two books, you can find them at www.rebeccahastings.net/books.

Mental health is a serious topic and at an all time high in our world. So many Christians are made to feel less than when they struggle but know what the Word says about it. You are not alone friend.

Most of us, unknowingly, carry around a silent weight that we shoulder for most of our days, the judgement of others. As a recovering people pleaser this is something I know about all too well and hope that I can encourage you with some of the things I have learned along the way. May you know the truth and what God says about it!
