Yes, I really believe it. I think legal ethics is cool...and that’s why I teach it for a living. I’m a professor, CLE speaker, and ethics lover...and I’m tired of denying it! In this podcast I explain the cool lessons from legal ethics and interview cool legal-ethics-related people (yes, we exist).
I interviewed Tom Farrell, Chief Disciplinary Counsel for Pennsylvania. Some interesting takeaways (1) State authorities don't always agree with the ethics opinions issues by the ABA. Case in point: we had an interesting discussion about the recent opinion on nonrefundable fixed fees paid in advance. Spoiler alert- PA doesn't agree with the ABA. (2) the issue Tom's very concerned about are lawyers who suffer demential or cognitive decline. There's more interesting stuff.
