In this episode of Sales Made Easy, host Harry Spaight introduces the renowned author and sales specialist, Lee Salz. With his books "Sell Different" and "Sales Differentiation" as the backdrop, Lee shares his insights on how to sell differently and win more deals.
What is Sales Differentiation?: Lee explains that while it may be challenging to differentiate the product or service being sold, it is limitless to differentiate how sales is conducted. By focusing on every stage and step of the buying journey, sales professionals can find meaningful ways to stand out from the competition.
The Power of Emotional Engagement: Lee emphasizes that buyers make decisions based on emotions and justify them with logic. However, he highlights a common gap between this understanding and the actual execution in sales calls. Lee draws a parallel with compelling storytelling techniques used by trial attorneys to provoke emotional reactions from jury members.
The Discovery Stage: Harry raises the issue of traditional discovery processes feeling like interrogations for prospects. Lee suggests reframing the concept as a consultation, where the objective is to make the prospect feel wiser after spending time with the salesperson. He emphasizes the importance of understanding the buyer's needs and aspirations.
Making Consultations a win for the prospect: Lee advises sales professionals to focus on creating a positive and informative experience for the buyer. He encourages salespeople to put themselves in the buyer's shoes and consider how they can provide value during the consultation.
Final Thoughts: Lee shares his rule for writing books: he only writes a book he would personally sit down and read. He emphasizes the importance of delivering content that is actionable, tactical, and relatable to the reader. Harry and Lee conclude by highlighting the significance of emotional connection and differentiation in driving sales success.
Lee Salz is an internationally renowned sales management strategist, bestselling author, and award-winning speaker specializing in building world-class salesforces. He has written six bestselling business books, including Sales Differentiation and Sell Different!, whichhave been called “the one-two punch” every salesperson needs to differentiate what and how they sell to win more deals at the prices you want.

On this episode of Sales Made Easy, our guest, Debi Talbert, shares a powerful story of personal transformation. It all started when Debi, a flight attendant, had a chance encounter with a life coach. Despite her seemingly great job, Debi felt internally distressed and allowed negative thoughts to hold her back. The life coach helped her realize that she didn't have to believe everything she thought. Debi began questioning her thoughts instead of automatically believing them, which led to a profound shift in her mindset.Debi opens up about her reliance on alcohol to silence her negative self-talk and beliefs about her accomplishments. She also shares her experience with ADHD and intense rejection sensitivity. Before conversations, Debi learned to mentally prepare herself by focusing on her intent and being present in the moment. Self-awareness and self-acceptance helped her navigate social interactions, although she still battles her internal critic, whom she calls the "comedian in her head."
Debi purposely sought out a specific crowd of people to hang out with but initially struggled to find her tribe. After a seven-year journey, she realized the need for change. Debi challenged the stories she told herself and shifted her perspective on alcohol's role in her life. Awareness is important in various aspects of life, including aging, alcohol consumption, and physical activity.
In this episode, Debi also discusses the significance of goal-setting in personal and business contexts. She challenges the belief that life stagnates after certain milestones and shares her personal journey of overcoming negative thoughts. Debi suggests methods such as self-talk, reading, and learning from others to improve selling skills.
Debi's unique perspective extends beyond the sales realm. She talks about the challenges airline passengers face and the importance of considering their perspective to make one's own job easier. Debi believes that many people give up on pursuing their dreams after they turn 60 and shares insights on recognizing signs of unhappiness in others.
Throughout the episode, Debi emphasizes the benefits of making small changes and suggests trying to live without something for 90 days to see its impact on one's life. She challenges the association between relaxation and alcohol, discussing the advertising strategies that make people believe they need to buy alcohol for relaxation. Ultimately, Debi's journey is about showing up authentically and challenging expectations. She shares her habit of recognizing when she's in the wrong role and using her detective skills to guide her behavior. Removing the "judge's robe" and not wanting to be like Judge Judy serve as valuable lessons in self-awareness.
Join us on this thought-provoking and inspiring episode of Sales Made Easy as Debi Talbert shares her personal transformation, wisdom, and insights on navigating life's challenges and finding success. Get ready to make positive changes in your own life!

TSummary/Abstract
Harry Spaight and Mike O'Neill are catching up on how Mike's business is doing. Mike is pleased that people he has been speaking with have come back and want to figure out how to work together. Harry then asks Mike about the relationship building he does in his business. Mike explains that he has spent over 20 years in corporate HR, working for a small company that eventually became a Fortune 500 company and leading a large HR team. For the last 10 years, Mike has taken his HR expertise to help small to mid-sized businesses grow.
Harry Spaight is talking to an expert in HR and people management, who is helping businesses with their people problems. The expert explains that they offer both training and coaching services in order to help businesses improve their people skills. On the training side, they focus on making sure that supervisors and leaders are comfortable in their roles and are able to treat their employees in a way that gives them a sense of value. For coaching, they work with individuals and teams on very specific behaviors to help them improve their performance. People problems can be a major hindrance to businesses, but the expert is helping people to identify and address those issues in order to ensure that their business can continue to prosper.
Mike O'Neill is a business owner who helps companies with people-related challenges. He views HR as a profession that requires credibility and the ability to sell services to internal customers. O'Neill believes that the key to gaining trust with decision makers is to show that he is there to support them, not to threaten them. He starts with the HR department to build trust and demonstrate his ability to help them be more successful. He then looks to understand the challenges they are wrestling with most, and helps them find a solution if he can't provide it himself.
The conversation between the two people focuses on the importance of HR departments when hiring new employees. It is suggested that when talking to business owners, the conversation should be more bottom line-oriented and focus on how the potential employee can benefit the bottom line. It is argued that more emphasis needs to be placed on keeping existing employees, as supervisors are often seen as representatives of the company. The conversation then moves to the average longevity of employees, with it being suggested that turnover is a major issue, and that there should be a target for employees to stay for a certain period of time.

Neptali Martinez is founder and principal at NJM Career/Leadership Coaching, which provides career and executive coaching for professionals in middle and upper management levels, business owners, and entrepreneurs in diverse areas such as Information Technology, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, and other business organizations.
As an author, Neptali has published more than a dozen articles in a trade magazine, and has published his first book, CoachAbility: Are You in the State or Condition to be Coached? Summary/Abstract
Harry Spaight interviewed Neptali Martinez, a new author and business leader, on the Sales Made Easy podcast. Neptali discussed his background, which began in technology, where he was a manager and eventually the Human Resources Director. After finishing his Master's in Human Resources Management, Neptali was inspired by his employee to pursue coaching. He now works as a coach and has written a book, Selling With Dignity, about achieving life-changing sales results without resorting to pushy tactics.
Neptali is a professional coach who has taken an intensive month-long course and taught courses on change management and emotional intelligence. He believes that managers should be aware of their own emotions and the emotions of their direct reports, peers and clients. He suggests that when confronted with an emotional person, the manager should ask them to put their emotions in a container so that they do not react defensively. This is a way of managing emotions and building trust.
Neptali and Harry discuss the importance of emotional intelligence in leadership. Neptali shares how he used to manage situations when he was in a position of leadership in technology. He explains that he usually took a step back and tried to analyze the situation before responding. He reflects that he didn’t need to learn about emotional intelligence as he already had a base of it, but he did perfect it and educate himself on the topic. Harry acknowledges how even without formal training, Neptali had a lot of emotional intelligence. He emphasizes that it is an important skill to have in order to be a successful leader.
Neptali and Harry discuss the similarities between leadership and sales, the difference between telling someone what they need to do versus coaching them, and the importance of self-awareness in becoming a good leader. Neptali talks about how leaders need to show respect for their followers by asking them for their input and showing that they trust their knowledge. Harry mentions how it is important to be open to learning from different people and trying to form and shape what leadership should be for them. Neptali suggests that people become more self-aware by taking time to get to know themselves.

Are you using your emotional intelligence when it comes to sales? This is an area where many people in sales are lacking. Statistics show that people who are in tune with EQ, are earning more money. It makes sense, doesn't it? I believe you will find value in this episode. Feel free to reach out to either Ron or myself if you would like to discuss this further.
Notes:
Harry and Ron discuss emotional intelligence, with Ron emphasizing the importance of understanding oneself. He explains that one’s inner world reflects their outer world, and that fear is a protector but can also lead to a defeat mindset. He also mentions that everyone carries emotional baggage, trauma, triggers, and other things into conversations that need to be considered. Harry confesses his sin of being distracted by checking his chat and confesses it as part of his emotional intelligence.
The conversation between Harry and Ron discussed the importance of loving people in sales. The two agreed that simply pursuing money is not the right way to be successful in sales, and that it is important to understand the value that one can offer to prospects and clients. They also discussed how money is the outcome of living an authentic life, being true to oneself, treating people well, and being of service. Ultimately, they concluded that if one does all of these things, money will come naturally.
Ron Frost and Harry are discussing the importance of knowing oneself and how it affects conversations. Frost explains that lower emotions like fear, worry, doubt, shame, and guilt can negatively influence conversations, while higher ones such as compassion, empathy, and love can improve them. He emphasizes that it is essential to recognize when there is something going on in one's life that needs to be addressed. Harry provides an example of this, when he mentions getting into a funk and not being aware of it. He suggests that this can lead to having negative conversations with others without realizing it. Ultimately, they agree that being mindful of one's emotions and thoughts is key to having successful conversations.
Ron and Harry had a conversation about what to do when one is in a funk. Harry suggested that first one has to take care of themselves and do something to get themselves out of the funk. This could be watching a YouTube video, listening to music or going for a walk. Ron agreed, adding that one has to be mindful of their time and schedule, but it is important to take care of oneself first. Ron then recalled a quote about meditation, emphasizing that it doesn't have to be sitting with eyes closed and a candle, but rather taking a moment to go out into nature and be quiet.

Is that an okay idea? Is to have my voice, or is that kind of using stock imagery. Landen But that, I would believe that's created by you. If I'm experiencing you and you're giving me off the same vibes, then that's something totally different.
Harry So that's true on the business card, and I just love what you said. It's like, it's not a million dollars. Just spend a, spend the money and get fewer, because at a net, when you hand out business cards, you should only be handling handing out a couple at a meeting.
Landen And then you sprinkle a little bit of what your business, what you stand for as a person to complete your brand. And that's how you, that's how you make people remember you in a room full of bi in a room full of people.
So is how, what people when I, when I'm teaching personal brand is how people experience your brand every time they come in contact with it. Landen But if you got a really good one, it's like, mm, I don't think I should get rid of this one.

Harry Spaight and Suzanne Taylor King have a conversation about personal and business growth without resorting to pushy sales tactics. Harry is the author of Selling With Dignity and hosts Sales Made Easy, a podcast for business and personal growth. Suzanne is a business coach and Udai Monologist, and she encourages people to be the best version of themselves. They talk about how to achieve success and happiness through integrity and hard work, and how Harry was ready to podcast with Suzanne in two minutes. They both express admiration for each other and how honored Suzanne is to be on the podcast.
Harry is a fan of Stoicism and recently heard references to it. He explains that the basis of Stoicism is living as the best version of yourself and this is in line with Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Harry was first introduced to Stoicism through a coach who he worked with who was a philosopher. He found that the philosophy resonated with him and the writings of modern Stoics like Ryan Holliday have further deepened his understanding. In essence, Stoicism is about being honest, having integrity, treating people with respect and learning constantly to become the best version of yourself.
Harry and the speaker discuss the importance of living with integrity and meaning. In order to be the best version of yourself, it is necessary to work on hard habits every day such as meditation, exercise, drinking water and eating right. The speaker references Ryan Holiday's idea of The Obstacle is the Way to illustrate how hard things can bring happiness. It is important to understand yourself and know what habits are beneficial and which are not. The speaker acknowledges that partying and drinking can be enjoyable, but it is important to recognize that too much can lead to not being able to focus and do what one is called to do.
Harry and Suzanne are discussing the importance of self-reflection and knowing oneself. Harry explains that he has gained thirty pounds since Covid and he attributes this to him no longer teaching exercise classes as a hobby. He has come to terms with this and is taking action to get back on track. Harry is also reading a book called Your Five Next Steps by Patrick Ben l, which is inspiring him to do a deeper self-reflection. Patrick encourages people to take a test which will help them get to know themselves better. Patrick believes that this is an important step to take before becoming an entrepreneur. Harry also mentions that comparison can be harmful and it is important to take the time to learn and understand oneself.

Summary/Abstract
Harry hosts Walter Crosby on the Sales Made Easy podcast. Walter is an expert on helping CEOs, entrepreneurs, and senior executives to scale their business, and also wrote a book on Seven Critical Mistakes CEOs Make with Their Sales Organization that Stop the Company from Scaling. Walter explains that although people in Michigan are enjoying the warm weather, activities like snowmobiling and ice fishing are not possible due to the high temperatures. Harry and Walter have some light-hearted conversation about ice fishing and global warming, before getting down to discussing sales.
Walter and the speaker discuss mistakes that CEOs make and how to avoid them. Walter suggests that hiring salespeople should be done differently than other roles, because salespeople are better at interviewing and selling than the hiring manager. He suggests taking away the biases and resumes, and making sure the salesperson is familiar with the product they are selling. He also recommends his book for CEOs to get more information on how to avoid mistakes, as they are ultimately responsible for everything in the organization.
The interviewer and interviewee discussed how to approach the hiring process for salespeople differently. The interviewee suggested that the company should change the way they write job postings, evaluate candidates, and score them. They should treat them more like prospects, asking complicated questions to understand how they think and assess whether they can follow a process. The interviewee also suggested that the company should wait until the end of the process to sell the job and company to a candidate, spending time to understand how they might fit into the culture and team. Finally, they discussed the importance of writing job postings that accurately describe the desired skills and competencies needed to be successful in the role.
The conversation is about how to write ads for sales roles in a way that attracts the right people and repels the wrong ones. The speaker explains that ads should describe the situation, the type of person they are looking for, and speak directly to that person. This way, the reader will think that they are qualified and want to apply. The speaker also recommends that the ad should be honest about the skill sets and competencies needed to be successful in the role. Finally, they stress the importance of setting the right expectations and taking the time to get the right hire, as the cost of hiring someone who is not a good fit can be expensive.

Highlights
So I think we can keep accountability in a positive frame. And we don't have to micromanage people. And if somebody's not performing, they're not going to appreciate that accountability and they're probably going to self select out of the situation after three or four months of not hitting their numbers because we've agreed to do the numbers. That's where the expectations come in. So I think that's a way for a CEO to spend a very controlled amount of time just focusing on that accountability piece and really getting people to focus on it. And if the CEO can't do it, and they don't have a sales manager, the CFO, or the controller, that finance person, they love accountability, they love adding stuff up and they love making sure everything those are the guys that are looking at our expense reports.
And we need to give them the tools that they need, got to meet them where they are. And then if they're not performing, there's reasons for that. And that's where we do the coaching. And the less they perform, the greater the insight that must be gathered. Right? So if they hit their revenue number and they didn't break any rules and they're a team player, okay, they're doing their job. Let's take a quick look at your pipeline. Looks like you're going to do it again.
Yeah. Okay. So we were talking about some of the mistakes that CEOs make. We talked about the compensation, having the right job description. What about once the person is on board? CEOs are pretty busy running their business, doing what they need to do to work on the business. They're the go to person, typically for a smaller company, like you described, for a lot of things. Now the salesperson, or salespeople you mentioned, three to five, are flying under the radar.
The reward for many in sales is they go through an entire month and look at 5 hours out of the month where they're writing business and say I had an awesome month. Right. Because they look at whatever they're typically not looking at how they fill their pipeline, they're looking at the outcome at the end of the month as they look back at the business they wrote that's where a lot of people get the rush, the adrenaline are in the moment. Right.
Attention and some help and it's a lot more than most salespeople would need. Yes, it's a different animal, different character, different type of persona. But yes, if you're thinking of going that route and you're not around the person as the leader, then it's subject to fail. And especially if there's not another person where there's that camaraderie bouncing ideas dealing with the no or just the fact that very few people pick up the phone and so forth.Thank you for checking out the Sales Made Easy podcast brought to you by Selling With Dignity.

Harry and Colin Smith discuss the importance of listening and how it can improve relationships and sales. Colin suggested that most people believe they are above average listeners, but when asked if anyone had thanked them for listening in the last two weeks, most people's hands went down. Colin explained that hearing and listening are not the same thing. Listening requires focus, concentration, and understanding. He suggested that to become a better listener, one should practice being present, remove distractions, and avoid filling every silence with words. Harry agreed, and concluded that by listening effectively, one can build relationships, create trust, and increase sales.
This conversation is about the difference between hearing and listening. Hearing is unintentional and happens without us doing anything. Listening is intentional and active, and requires us to really focus on what is being said. To demonstrate this difference, the speaker uses a piece of music, asking people to just listen to it, then listen to the guitar and piano, then listen to the vocals, and finally to just relax and be with the music. When we listen to understand rather than just listen to reply, this opens up the conversation and we can pick up on subtle signals that can help us understand the other person better. For example, when talking about a competitor, we can pick up on whether they are really happy or unhappy with them. Listening with understanding can help us get a lot more out of conversations.
Colin shared a story about how his daughter's friends warmed up to him after he listened to them. He believes that when prospects explore their thinking, they will be more likely to listen to salespeople. The conversation then shifted to listening itself, with Colin suggesting that listening can create a feeling of safety. He referenced the work of Amy Edmondson, a Harvard professor, and Google's Project Aristotle which examined the success of their projects over the last two or three years. Listening is key in building trust and creating a safe space for people to open up.
The conversation focused on the importance of psychological safety in teams. It was mentioned that for effective teams, people must be able to speak up and share their ideas and feelings without fear of being belittled or bullied. The example of a sales manager and new salespeople was given to illustrate how having a safe space to share their thoughts is important. The salespeople may not feel confident enough to share their true thoughts and feelings, but with a safe environment, they can open up and be honest about their concerns. This can lead to better ideas being shared and ultimately more successful teams.

Interview with Colin Smith: Unlocking the Power of Listening to Improve Relationships
Highlights
And I know that it's a good friend of mine who has little by little learned to listen to one of their friends more and more, and now that person is changing to become more interested in my friend because they've learned to listen. So they listened first, they listened always and always, and now that person feels heard enough to be able to listen to the other person. We're dying to be heard. It's a phrase I use a lot. We're dying to be heard.
When I guess on podcasts, people ask me what is the number one skill I recommend or encourage, I say it's listening. It always throws people off. That's an interesting one because you're thinking in sales, it's got to be that you're unstoppable, you're a go getter and so forth. But ultimately the people that are going to provide the best relationships for the business are the ones that trust the salespeople the most and will keep buying. And that's a rarity, I think.
It really is the three areas that I work with, which is, as a man said earlier, which is basically to get people to feel heard, help people to think better, and thirdly, to teach people how to listen. That's the three key areas. That's my primary focus. So that's why I specialize in this area. And what I found is that the connections I'm making enable me to come in and support those organizations who are doing much bigger programs, but they need somebody to come in and be the specialist in the listening space because as you say, it's unusual, it's rare.
So good. I love it. In sales, I frequently talk about providing value to your prospect client and especially if they're sitting on the fence, maybe they've had their proposal. They're on the 1 yd line in American football, if you will, ready to score, ready to bring it home and then they stall. And this is where I suggest to people, instead of asking for the paperwork a thousand times, why don't you find different ways to provide value? Like what are some ways we provide value for this person?
And then I went and read it and it was like oh my God, this is exactly where I'm the space I want to be in. And so I've done some training in that very space as well. So some of the things I've shared come directly from the idea of Time to think and some is from a whole range of other sources including one who's a hostage negotiator, international hostage negotiator, because he gets to the point where the customer goes yes, sorry, the hostage taker says yes you're right or you've got it.

Managed Services Veteran Monty Peterson Discusses Strategy Execution And Performance Agreements
Summary
Monte Pedersen is the principal of the CDA Group, a leadership and training firm focused on helping organizations manage strategy execution. He and Harry discuss the challenges of execution that many businesses face. Pedersen explains that while many businesses think they have a strategy, they don’t understand how to actually execute it. He states that execution is the biggest obstacle to business performance or success and needs to be discovered. Pedersen explains that while strategic planning is often thought of as an abstract concept, it is actually a combination of strategy and planning. Strategy is the best guess of how to succeed and planning is the implementation of that strategy. Without execution, businesses will not be successful.
The conversation is about the difference between strategy and execution. Strategy is the big picture of where an organization wants to go and how it will get there, while execution focuses on how to implement the strategy. Planning is a part of the execution process, but it is separate from execution. It is important to understand the difference between strategy and execution because it is easy to expect that senior executives and managers will know how to implement a strategy without providing the necessary guidance and instructions. Planning is a way for leaders to create concrete steps to reach their goals, but it is important to remember that it is part of the execution process and not the same as strategy.
The conversation discusses the importance of strategy execution, with Harry noting that although planning is important, it does not guarantee successful execution. He goes on to explain that often, when a new strategy is rolled out, it is dismissed as the “flavor of the month” and the staff reverts to their “reality chamber,” disregarding the strategy altogether. To combat this, Monte suggests that organizations need to have a cohesive element that combines everyone’s efforts and that they should seek help in forming a successful strategy. He also notes that typically, less than 10% of all strategies are executed fairly well, and less than 2% are done at a high level. As an example, the speaker cites family-owned businesses that have honed in on what they do and have become exceptional at it.
The conversation is about Execution Management, which is a strategy used to help organizations improve their performance by better managing their resources. It is important to have a clear strategy that is well communicated and implemented in order to be successful. The discussion covers how Execution Management can be useful for businesses of all sizes, from struggling businesses to those that are doing well and want to do even better. It was noted that communication is key in implementing a strategy, and that in many cases it is not done well. The conversation suggests that in order to succeed, organizations need to dig deeper and communicate the strategy in a meaningful way so that it resonates with employees.

In this episode, Create an Outstanding Client Experience with Sheryl Mays, we chat about the importance of the customer experience. Create clients for life by providing a great experience for them.
"Award-Winning Speaker Sheryl Mays Shares Tips On Customer-Centric Business Strategies"
Summary
Harry is joined by Sheryl Mays, an award-winning speaker and five-time author, to discuss customer experience and how it affects business sustainability. Sheryl recently wrote her fifth book, Make the Sale, Memorable, which is a preview book that includes activities to help readers implement her strategies. She explains how focusing on customer experience can help businesses sustain their success, and shares examples of how famous brands use customer experience to extend their services.
Sheryl and Harry are discussing the importance of customer service and how everyone within a company is an extension of sales. Sheryl explains that customer service employees should not view their roles as unimportant - they should use their personality to show that they appreciate the people who are paying the bills. To illustrate this, she shares an example from the casino industry, where the valet staff are the first people that customers meet. She explains that they shouldn't just view their job as parking cars, but rather they should be seen as the first experience of the customer. Harry agrees that this is an important topic and that customer service employees should take their role seriously.
Sheryl and Harry were discussing how customer experience is affected by the initial contact between customer and company. Sheryl highlighted that even if the customer only interacts with someone on the phone, they still have an impact on the customer's experience, as the experience is not isolated, but part of the overall culture and ecosystem of the organization. Harry mentioned how some companies take pride in answering the phone within a few rings and having a human connection, while others make it difficult to even reach a person. Sheryl agreed and added that one of the main complaints customers have is waiting times. Ultimately, Sheryl concluded that time is something you just can't give, and being able to reach a person quickly is essential for a great customer experience.
Sheryl explains how businesses should think of every person in the company as a customer, and that customer service should be a priority. She discusses the importance of eliminating customer frustrations and how this can be done proactively. Harry suggests starting with the company culture, or looking at some real-life examples of bad customer service. Sheryl then explains that the company should take the customer experience into account, and prioritize customer satisfaction for increased customer lifetime value. She also suggests training employees on how to interact with customers, and ensuring departments understand each other's roles.

Moving The Sale Forward With Trilogy of Yes Author, Andy Olen
Intro: In this episode, Harry talks to Andy Olen, a sales and leadership expert with over 20 years of experience leading sales teams and negotiating contracts worth $400 million. Andy shares insights from his book, The Trilogy of Yes, which focuses on connection, communication, and cooperation as key skills for inspiring customers to say yes.
Segment 1: How to Make Sales Easy
Andy and Harry discuss the skills necessary to make sales easy. Andy emphasizes the importance of establishing a strong connection with customers and demonstrating your ability to understand and solve their problem. He also stresses the need for clear communication of the value proposition to inspire customers to say yes. Andy disagrees with the "always be closing" philosophy and believes that if the customer trusts you, closing should be easy.
Segment 2: Handling Rejection in Sales
Andy shares his experience from running political campaigns and how a candidate's biggest mistake is not asking for the voter's support. He encourages salespeople to ask for the business and think of it as giving the customer the gift of a closing request. Andy advises that asking for the business is important, as it removes uncertainty and allows the customer to make a decision.
Segment 3: Closing Techniques in Competitive Situations
In competitive situations where multiple vendors are involved, Andy believes that it is still important to call and debrief, even if the customer ultimately chooses another vendor. Harry suggests that salespeople need to create alignment and remove uncertainty when a customer has already expressed interest. Andy recommends using a summary close, where you review the customer's situation, outline the product's benefits, and then ask if the customer is ready to make a decision.
Outro: Andy's insights on sales and leadership training provide valuable lessons for anyone looking to improve their sales skills. By focusing on connection, communication, and cooperation, and asking for the business when appropriate, salespeople can inspire customers to say yes and close more deals.

How do you feel about making sales calls? Are you intimidated about the idea which causes you to shrink back from the idea of making some calls to prospects?
Making outbound calls or sending emails and engaging people can be a challenge. We are all bombarded with “scam likely” calls and way too many emails that many shrink back from doing what will help them grow their business.
In this episode, Outbound Calling With a Serving Mindset, Jason Bay shares his insight as a master of outbound calls. There is a ton of value he provides in this conversation, this is just a glimpse of it below.
“I think that's super important and that's something that I'm really fascinated with prospecting. It's so important. Like when you pick up the phone and make a call to a prospect, or you send an email or you reach out on LinkedIn, what's that experience like for them to be on the receiving end of that?
Because you're not the only person reaching out to them. So how do you stand out? How do you do this in a way that feels good, you know, to do, how do you do this in a way that's effective because outbound is getting much harder.”

In this podcast, Is Franchising for You, Irving Chung discusses with us the concept of owning a franchise and the benefits that go along with it.
It certainly isn’t easy to start and run a successful business. A franchise though has the background of a proven success model. It makes a lot of sense to look into it. One is given a detailed map that all they need to do is follow it. Of course, the most important factor is related to the owner and if they are going to get out and sell their product and service. This is the key to any business’s success.
For more on franchising, get in touch with Irving. He has a great reputation and its worth the conversation if you are thinking about it.

Introverts Can Succeed in Sales with the Real Estate unSalesperson Barry Karch
This conversation, Introverts Can Succeed in Sales with the Real Estate unSalesperson Barry Karch is one that sellers who are not naturally outgoing, will enjoy. Barry has made for himself a very nice career in selling homes. He is not the Type A personality but takes the “unsalesy” approach. The approach that must of us like when we are buyers. Nobody wants to be pushed or pressured into a decision by the strong closer. Barry does the right thing and people want to work with him. Go figure!
Barry Karch has always considered himself an unlikely Realtor - quiet, introverted, unsalesy. Not your prototypical formula for success! Yet, Barry has been a top selling Realtor for 36 years, selling as many as 100 homes per year. He has come to realize that being an introvert in real estate gives him many advantages over his more extroverted colleagues. He has created a podcast called The Real Estate UnSalesperson to encourage and inspire his fellow introverted Realtors. His mission is to teach introverts that they have what it takes to succeed in real estate.

The Joy Kindler joins me and we talk about Selling Can Be a Real Joy and how one can experience this. I will give a hint, it has to do with putting the client first. Vicki is a real student of her craft. She not only knows her product, she knows the industry (pharmaceuticals) and understands the value of Awareness.
From Vicki:
Joyful people make for better work environments and with them increased workplace well-being and motivation. It dawned on me in Grad School that the SOLE of a corporation is built upon the SOUL of its people, which led me to further study positive psychology, servant leadership and happiness.
Now, more than ever, I’ve come to realize how important it is to feel good at work, to be happy, empowered, and motivated! When we’re like this, we transform into collaborative beings where energy and engagement is kept high. That level of ethos shapes a meaningful workplace culture that is where people want to be there. When Pfizer’s people enjoy lasting values-based recognition, empathy and appreciation for them, they feel accomplished. They belong to the team and they experience purpose, autonomy, and love. And that’s a great source of joy!

Unlike 99.99% of people in sales who end up there by accident, Austen chose to go in to the profession. He didn’t want his life choices determined by others, he wanted to be his own boss. “If I was going to fail, I was going to do it my way” is one of his humorous quotes.
So he went into selling on a self employed basis selling life assurance. After almost quitting many times in the first 2 years, he came to realize that he wasn’t as clever as he thought he was and that if he was ever going to become the salesperson he was capable of being, he needed to learn how to sell properly and professionally. He did that by reading books, by listening to (as it was back then) audio cassettes and attending sales conferences and listening to speakers. (One of his heroes was Charlie Jones who he heard speak in 1981.)
Ultimately Austen went on to be a really good salesperson but when building his first sales team he discovered he was a better manager and trainer. He built and sold 2 sales businesses, (building many sales teams in the process) and retired at the age of 49 before coming out of retirement 3 years later to launch the sales training business he runs today. He considers himself to be extremely lucky to have found something he truly loves to do and people will pay him to do it.

George Scott MBA President at Business Consulting Solutions LLC joins The Sales Made Easy podcast as we discuss Using a Better Sales Strategy. George is a fan of Selling With Dignity and doing things “the right way”. In sales, rather than be out for just getting the sale, George talks about the pull strategy. The pull strategy is understanding what your buyer needs and then providing it for them politely with a servant mindset. That is definitely aligned with the host! George understands business – both as a business owner and as a business consultant/business broker. Beginning his double roles in 1983, he has been, and is, able to observe (up close) the internal operations and financial conditions of hundreds of businesses. Consequently, George has a unique perspective as to why some businesses achieve resounding success while others fail. In addition to the hands-on experience as business consultant and broker, George earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2007 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2009. Earning both degrees while working full time, he shared MBA Top of the Class honors with an International Vice President of a well-known service business. The two degrees were earned through SUNY Empire State College (ESC) FORUM WEST management program and its School for Graduate Studies. As a business, management, and economics adjunct college instructor for the SUNY Empire State College’s Center for Distance Learning from 2001 to 2018, George taught a number of advanced business courses, which included Consumer Behavior, Marketing Principles, Marketing Communications – Advertising and Promotion, Public Relations, and Sales Management. Additionally, he was lead instructor and course reviewer of the Public Relations course. George is a business writer, having written numerous articles about various aspects of owning, operating, and selling a business. Most recently, a number of his articles have appeared in FOCUS, the magazine of the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM). (Links to those articles can be found in the articles section of this website.) As member of SBAM, George was a member of SBAM’s Strategic Communications Advisory Committee and SBAM’s Government Relations Entrepreneurial Task Force. Additionally, George has been quoted as a business source for other articles in business publications in Michigan and other states. For the 2011-2012 term, George served as the Public Relations Officer of Toastmasters International District 62, which encompasses nearly all of Michigan. Many years prior, he served as the Public Information Officer of his Army National Guard unit.

Kim Barrett of Your Social Voice joins us on the Sales Made Easy Podcast and shares his insight in this conversation regarding paid ads on Facebook.
He breaks it down with the number of leads desired, what is the percentage of bringing in business based on the number of leads provided? One can run ads very economically on Facebook and help with the predictability versus organic posting. Simply missing days and lacking consistency can be to our detriment. Additionally, as we grow, the paid ads can continue to bring in a stream of people that are interested in our services.
Kim speaks about time versus money, bots and automation, investment and budget, all of these are discussed in this podcast.

“So That” for Relationships with Jennifer Andersen Smith is a fascinating conversation with one who has overcome childhood trauma. She joins the Sales Made Easy podcast and shares some of her journey with us. What you may find interesting too is the fact we can all take note of things we do and say that may bring a person back to that situation in their lives.
Jennifer today helps other people who have also experienced their own trauma. She is clearly all about serving so look her up in the links below.
A motivational speaker of rare power and an inspiring life coach, Jennifer Andersen Smith is
also the author of a compelling memoir entitled So That For Relationships. The book tells her
story of childhood trauma, teen motherhood, and a loveless marriage, in order to inspire other
women to overcome hurdles as she has.
Born in a Catholic family in rural Illinois, Jennifer grew up on a farm with many siblings. Rooted
in her faith from a young age, Jennifer was a strong believer in saving herself for her husband.
But one day, this deep-seated value was ripped away from her by a man who sexually abused
her as a child. This traumatizing event had ramifications throughout her life.
As a teenager, Jennifer believed that, since she had been deprived of her virginity, she had no
impetus to save herself for marriage, which led to her teenage pregnancy. The following year,
she became pregnant again with her second child. And the year after that, she made the choice
to marry the father of her children even though she didn’t love him, marking the beginning of a
difficult twenty-three-year marriage marked by emotional abuse.
Now divorced and remarried to a wonderful man, Jennifer was finally able to regain control of
her life. After overcoming her trauma, she was able to manifest joy, love, and abundance, in
spite of her struggles with depression. Now, she has become a life coach to help other women
through their life challenges and has started a community of women who support each other
and themselves.
Living in Georgia, Jennifer and her husband Craig have a blended family of 9 children and 15
grandchildren, who Jennifer calls “her greatest legacy.

In this conversation, Know Your Clients Well and Serve, Jeff and I discuss the importance of knowing your clients today, not just when we sold to them. Showing up for meetings, being well prepared for our client conversations, being a good listener, providing value, and the importance of The Napkin! (Jeff and I had a previous conversation at the local pub and found a need to do some writing for goal setting. That napkin is kept in a safe place many months later!)
How many times do we take some of our clients for granted? It isn’t intentional. We get busy. They get busy. Before we know it they may have been a client for years and could be in some kind of contract that doesn’t meet their needs any longer. There is a risk in this. The client might have a new vendor calling on them or they may shop us because they start to question the value of the expense they are paying.
What can we do to prevent this? Schedule a meeting. Get on the calendar. Things change. Companies pivot and must adapt to the changes in the economy. Do we truly know what they are facing today compared to the months or years since our last real conversation with them?
How prepared are we for these conversations? Do we read up on their industry challenges? How can we bring value? If we can’t help with something, can we offer a referral of someone that may be able to help? Bringing value is not just selling. It can mean showing genuine interest in the person across from us and thinking about how we can serve them.
Bottom line, we always should be looking to serve our clients and keeping them top of mind so we are not caught by surprises. Instead of having to scramble because of change, we can help the client with transitioning.

Selling With Partnerships in a Hybrid World with Fred Copestake
Fred Copestake-Author - 'Hybrid Selling' and 'Selling Through Partnering Skills talks about sales and bringing the value on the Sales Made Easy podcast, Selling With Partnerships in a Hybrid World.
Fred has been training and coaching sales teams for a couple of decades. He shares his insights about modern selling where the client is the hero. Are we going through our own sales process to check the boxes or can we be more flexible based on the person in front of us, the prospect?
What are our questions like? Are we asking questions to get the client to think? This can be how we differentiate ourselves from the competition by getting the prospect to think a bit more about their problem.
Fred also talks about the challenge of making change. Some will jump at the idea of change whereas others may deal with change more like the mourning process. For these folks, change is going to be more difficult.
For more about Fred:
Fred Copestake is Founder of Brindis, a sales training consultancy
Over the last 22 years he has travelled round the world 14 times visiting 36 countries working with 10,000 salespeople. Using this to understand the challenges salespeople face he has taken what really makes a difference in modern selling and used these in his book 'Selling Through Partnering Skills’.
These ideas form the basis of his work with sales professionals involved in complex B2B sales to develop their approach and ensure it is up to date and has maximum impact.
Aware of the unprecedented speed of change in the world of sales in his second book 'Hybrid Selling' he addressed how salespeople can adapt and evolve their approach to avoid becoming irrelevant. This quickly went to number one on Amazon after it’s launch.
He has a strong belief that people can get better through learning and sharing, and that with better collaboration we can all really make a difference.

Reach Your Potential for You and Your Business with Jeff Forrester
Sales superstar, leader, and author of Unleashed Potential, Jeff Forrester joins us in Reach Your Potential for You and Your Business. We don’t often think of Awareness in sales or business for that matter. As an entrepreneur, much of the time, you are on your own. Do we do what we set out to do? The challenge sometimes is to look ourselves in the mirror and be honest with ourselves. Did we do what we set out to do?
Other times, we may be trying to ask for the order and it doesn’t feel right. Did we do the job we needed to do to ask for the business? Does the prospect need what we are selling? Sometimes, it just isn’t a good fit. What do we do then? It may mean we state that this doesn’t look like a good fit right now, but can we ask for a referral perhaps?
Jeff brings a lot of wisdom to the conversation. Both from a sales aspect as well as coming from leadership too. Find out what motivates people and use that to help them reach their goals. Hint, it isn’t a stick that truly motivates people for the long term.
About Jeff Forrester:
"Positively change lives through meaning partnerships."
Jeff was born and raised in Gainesville, FL and graduated from the University of Florida. He is a fifth-generation Floridian and carries tremendous pride in being a true Florida Pioneer. After graduating from the University of Florida, in 1999 started in healthcare sales. Jeff is also excited to build a strong presence in real estate in the central Florida area. It is our time to unleash our potential.

Brynne Tillman joins the Sales Made Easy podcast and shares incredible insight about social selling that you can apply starting today! Get your pen and paper out to take notes on this episode!
Do you feel like you know how to use LinkedIn for your benefit? Do we understand what Social Selling is for that matter? Are we capitalizing, in a nice way, on the LinkedIn platform? How many connections do we have? Do we know these people? Are they potential clients, referral partners, or total strangers?
Do we post and get little engagement? Or do we get some interaction and have conversations with people who are liking our posts? There is an opportunity with these folks. Conversations can lead to business.
Here is one, how are we scheduling the meeting to meet with people? Brynne brings some great advice with the calendar link sharing at about the 13-minute mark. She also talks about providing real value instead of holding onto the information as salespeople did in the 1970s. Keep providing the value folks! She references the Go-Giver author Bob Burg too and he wrote the book on putting the client’s interests ahead of our own.
Brynne sums up the entire show with this line -Stop selling. Start serving. BOOM!

Sales Skills Required While Running for Office -Jesse Smith, Candidate for Oregon State House of Representatives District 18.
The Sales Made Easy podcast enters the political arena, well sort of anyway. I am friends with fellow author Jesse Smith on Linkedin. I like his personality and his genuine concern for people. Coincidentally, Jesse is running for office so I wanted to discuss the sales aspect of that to a degree.
We discuss how Sales ties into running for political office in Running for Congress with Jesse Smith, Candidate for Oregon State House of Representatives District 18.
Without getting into a political debate, here are some of Jesse’s goals for his district from his website:
“I’m just a local Dad who wants to see the public schools fully funded. I’m also an author, musician, web developer, and world traveler.
In my travels, I have spent time in the developing world, where the absence of labor laws and environmental regulations has led to widespread poverty and unbelievable pollution. But I have also spent time in Europe, where publicly funded social services provide a higher standard of living for everyone. In my life, I have worked for minimum wage; and I have started a business of my own. I taught myself to code, and I learned accounting principles in business school.
The first step to making a change is to believe that change is possible. I believe change is possible.”
Quick correction in podcast :
In discussing a recent news item about Unilever, I was trying to recall a list of brands owned by the company, and I incorrectly mentioned Ben and Jerry's. In fact, Ben & Jerry's is owned by Colgate-Palmolive. I regret the error.

Jim Shorkey joins us and talks about Selling Cars with Dignity and the lessons he has learned over the years. Jim built a nice legacy and shares the stories of the tough times. Before he started treating others with dignity, he sold cars like the stereotypical car dealer.
However he was not succeeding and was on the verge of bankruptcy. Jim then looked to guides who helped him out of the predicament and he became an avid reader and follower of Napolean Hill’s Think and Grow Rich.
Jim has learned a lot over the years, much of through mistakes and of course much from reading Think and Grow Rich over 100 times. Today he is a Personal Development Mentor at https://www.facebook.com/ResultsfromThinking
Scott Greenberg is the guest and author of Oh My God, I'm Getting Older and So Is My Mom. Scott is a former sales guy that didn’t love the early retirement and bought a struggling franchise and turned it into a great business that serves the elderly and their families. Scott has a Selling With Dignity mindset for sales and business. Treating people with dignity in their later years is what he’s all about. The conversation is filled with stories and humor about a potentially challenging topic. We all get older and so will our parents if we aren’t there yet.
Scott provides a roadmap to the aging highway with tips on how to avoid the potholes along the way. Through Scott Greenberg’s experience as a weekly radio show host dealing with issues that are confronting boomers and their parents, coupled with his tenure as President of a private duty home health care agency, Scott addresses many serious topics in a humorous but informative way. The later-years road is often believed to look like midnight rides on a sailboat with a glass of wine in our hand. All too often, Scott has learned, reality gets in the way. Bottom line: getting older can be tougher than we thought. Enjoy as Scott addresses topics as diverse as dealing with sibling rivalry (mom always loved you more), sex after sixty (yes, it still happens), funeral options (who knew there were so many), the value of volunteerism, along with other situations you never thought you would need to deal with. With a humorous look at aging, coupled with practical advice, Scott hopes this book will encourage you to look at where you are today and where you are going to be in the not too distant future so as to prevent crisis decision-making at the time when you are at your most vulnerable. Testimonials: "This is a MUST read for anyone wanting to learn more about the complexities involved in caring for ourselves & loved ones throughout the aging process. Simply stated, as a physician, this book has taught me a great deal about aging and the human spirit - I highly recommend it." Michael G. "Everyone needs to buy this book. Read it first, then...buy for your parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. You get the point...Great Read!!!" Regina N. "Your book: Well written, insightful and very helpful in dealing with us aging people. The checklists in each chapter are superb and could be made into a series of articles in the Palm Beach Post." Finding Your Sweet Spot in Sales with Autumn Britton is about finding your way in sales. Autumn was raised around Mary Kay with her mom being a National Director who has been incredibly successful.
That path was not what Autumn wanted originally. For years she tried different types of sales opportunities from selling copiers in Washington DC to selling trucks and other things in between. Eventually she made it back to Mary Kay because she says “it was a God thing”.
Since that time Autumn has soared in business and is constantly looking to be better and to push herself out of the comfort zone. (This podcast may have been a little bit of that too). Autumn is humble and recognizes that she wasn’t always this way. So hearing her journey to finding her calling is special.
Today Autumn is a Director with Mary Kay and she is helping a number of women to be successful in their own Mary Kay business.
If you don’t know about the Mary Kay company, I invite you to explore it. These folks know how to motivate and get their people fired up. I went to a few of their events over the years and I realized that the positive energy shown was the way I wanted to be as a sales leader. So yes, Mary Kay was an influence on me, Harry Spaight!

In this episode we meet Anthony Sully Sullivan, TV Personality, Loving Dad and Vermont Hemp Farmer who is best known as being a pitchman. Anthony “Sully” Sullivan has made a living selling products first at county fairs and then on television. While you might recognize him from being the “OxiClean Guy” who was best friends with the late Billy Mays, the British-born, energetic pitchman owns Sullivan Productions where he has represented such clients as McDonald’s, Arm & Hammer, Nutrisystem, Swivel Sweeper, Sticky Buddy and countless more. He also starred on the TV shows “Pitchmen” and “Kings of Kush.”
Sully took a detour from his television career when his daughter was diagnosed with a rare genetic disordered and needed an alternative to prescription medication which robbed her of her personality
This desperate Dad has entered a unique 2nd act as the owner of a hemp farm born out of his want and need to find alternatives to drugs for his young daughter. MONTKUSH (www.MONTKUSH.com) is based on 116-acres in Vermont where Sully spent two years living in an AirStream on top of a mountain in freezing conditions. He has learned how to farm CBD and CBDA, the non-intoxicating chemical in the cannabis plant. MONTKUSH has received both USDA organic certification and Vermont’s organic certification.
While he jokes that some might call it a midlife crisis, Sully had that “a ha” moment when he visited a hemp farm with a friend and had that true epiphany of the tranquility of the farm and the understanding of wellness that can be derived from a plant. Sully began administering CBD for his daughter’s symptoms and her seizures were then under control. Her weight and personality came back.

Digging Deeper Into the Subconscious Mind with Eric Konovalov.
In this episode, Eric highlights the need to make the unconscious, conscious. Once we do, good things will happen when we are more aware of why we act and think the way we do.
Eric Konovalov is an immigrant, refugee, who’s family fled communist Russia in the early 90’s. Though they left physically, Eric grew up seeing how his parents’ communist mindset and belief systems were behind all of their decision making, which led to struggle and lack of freedom to do what they dreamt of doing.
Eric wanted something better for his life and set out to achieve it. After spending 8 wonderful years with the United States Marines, Eric excelled in the field of sales and sales leadership.
Today, Eric’s motivation is the same as it was when he was a little kid. It’s to live free and to help others live their version of freedom as well. That’s why he founded The Goal Guide Inc, a coaching, public speaking, and training organization, focusing on helping people achieve their goals, live out their dreams, and become the most amazing version of themselves.
He is the host of Lead Sell Grow – The Human Experience Podcast, and the Author of B2B Sales Secrets.
Eric has helped people lose weight, improve their marriage, make more money, learn to sell, and start their own business. He’s helped people realize what they’re capable of, and he’s helped set people free from their invisible shackles.
He is the coach that will always see more in you than you see in yourself. Best of all, he has the ability to show you your own greatness.

Selling With Dignity with a Man of Dignity Hariprasad Menon
Hari has been in sales for several decades in Bangalore India. He brings class and integrity to sales and built a career by doing the right thing.
Hari started out in sales and was trying to be the street-smart guy who looked at the prospect as an adversary. He learned soon afterwards that sales is way of serving people. Hari is selling with dignity and not only is he respectful to others, he opens up conversations by bringing the value and establish the real needs of his clients.
I find it fascinating that the idea of serving others in sales, is much more common than people may think. Hari from India is proof of that point.
Former missionary Robert Peterson joins us in this episode of Sales Made Easy with Communication that Adds Value. Communication is a two-way street, and it isn’t about talking and telling. Curiosity comes up too. How can we develop curiosity in our conversations? It starts with caring.
“How are you doing?” Or “How are you doing?” Both questions have the same words but the emphasis changes the value of the question.
We also talk about the value of coaching for more revenue driving behaviors in business versus the “busy work” that can ensnare us.
Join in the fun and think about your own communication style and where you might be able to improve.
Robert is the cofounder and President of AV2L Consulting llc. He believes that human beings were created to take care of each other and to "encourage one another and build each other up."
He has a lifelong passion of serving and helping people. Robert’s coaching and training helps leaders focus on strategy, leadership, influence, communication, relationships and accountability while connecting their passion and faith to tangible results.

Shari Lueck, author and sales and leadership professional, drops wisdom in this podcast. Shari has a great history in sales and with coaching sales leaders too. Shari is not one who is going to fake who she really is. She is comfortable with who she is and realizes that not everyone is going to buy from her and that’s OK.
In sales, we should not expect everyone to buy from us. Some people will like someone else a bit more than us or find that their product fits them a little better. It’s not the end of the world. There are plenty of people that like us and the more we meet people the more that others too will want to buy from us.
Selling is serving. Being yourself, your genuine self can go a long way in your success. Trying to please everyone and being someone other than you, will not be sustainable or healthy in the long game.

Creating a Mind for Success With Tanya Pluckrose
What is holding you back in sales or in business? Are you holding onto beliefs that are self-limiting? Our environments and upbringing can affect our thinking and our confidence. We can create our own success. It is a mindset.
In this episode, Tanya Pluckrose shares how she helps others by changing the paradigm. Isn’t it interesting how we typically earn right around the same amount each year? Why is that? Is it because we set up ourselves to reach a certain amount but then can’t seem to break through that figure?
We can break through ceilings that we think are over us, but really, they don’t need to be there. Tanya is a student of Bob Proctor and she drops some valuable gems in this conversation. Its time to make a paradigm shift. Leave the old thinking behind us and start creating a better self.

In this podcast Harry and guest Chris Michel breakdown the plan for a great year in sales. As the title of the podcast implies Sales Made Simple, we break things down very straightforward and simple.
What is the revenue target? What was done in past years? What were the percentages for new business, renewals and cross selling or add on business for clients who already work with you to some degree.
Looking at the revenue for the year, then dividing it by 12 and then by 4 gives a pretty good idea of weekly targets. It is far better to have some kind of target to pursue than no target whatsoever.
By breaking down the revenue number, one can see areas of strength and areas where improvement might make for an even better year. Imagine that your clients could possibly buy other services or products from you. What would that do for your target if you could get a percentage of that business added to your total number?
You may think that planning is boring and you don’t have the patience for it. But taking the time, even a few hours to do this exercise will help with your vision.
Please feel free to leave a review and download the episode if you like it. It really helps us in getting the message out to others.

In this conversation, Tim Kubiak brings more than 20 years of sales experience to the table. His sales career goes all the way back to 6th grade when he was selling candy to his schoolmates.
Tim has been involved with very high dollar sales and complex sales too. The higher the ticket item and the more people involved, the more complex things can be. Tim breaks this down though to the simple. Ultimately sales is about people and treating them well.
The conversation is fun and educational for all who want to be better in sales.
Tim can be found here on Linkedin linkedin.com/in/timkubiak and his own podcast show Bowties and Business found on all of the podcast channels
Sales does not need to be so complicated. Being a good person and treating others well will go a long way in sales.
In this conversation we speak about what are commonly referred to as sales objections. We bring up the idea that “objections” are really concerns. We all have concerns when we are making larger buying decisions. This helps the seller to be relatable in helping a prospect with buying concerns.
Putting ourselves in the buyer’s position, will help us to see the situation from their eyes. When we do this, we are becoming more of an ally with the buyer. The goal is to be sitting figuratively speaking, on the same side of the table with the buyer compared to the me against them mentality.
